"I know a man who works the night shift He's lucky to get a job and some pay" (The Who) Our first visit to I Know a Guy Deli was a very positive experience. Their menu is pretty deep, with breakfast sandwiches, paninis, wings, soups, salads, and a ton of sandwich options. We were intrigued with their special sandwich menu. It was a Police vs. Fire Department kind of a thing with each of the two public services represented by two sandwiches. I went with a "Fire Marshall Tim" - a great tasting combination opf a chicken cutlet, honey ham, cheese and mustard on a hard roll. It was a big sandwich and was very reasonably priced at $12. The store's interior is pretty roomy and there are a lot of sitting to choose from. If you eat your food here (like we did) you won't feel cramped or crowded at all. Service was nice and friendly. Oh. and they have a super-cool logo, don't they?

This place is amazing! It's a family run business, and you can see and feel the love and connection when you are in there. They make you feel so welcome! Not to mention that these people serve fantastic delicious food! In addition, they give to their community (and surrounding communities), and they keep their word... they are people of integrity. They also have a food truck, so if you see their truck at a festival, stop by and get some of their delicious food! I highly recommend this business! If you are in the Burlington area or passing by, stop in! You will not be disappointed.

I'm here for my 3rd visit since they opened and this place is still as great as the very first day. A real local gem. Breakfasts are fast hot and fresh. They do local bagels on the weekends that are as close to a jersey bagel as you'll ever find in ct. breakfast sandwiches remind me of my college days. Prices are super reasonable and the staf is very personable. You can get marble rye, wheat, rolls, tons of bread options. Coffee is at the bar and always hot and fresh. I love this spot. Don't miss it!

Italian combo!

Stopped her on a whim! Cool place. They have a few outdoor, dog friendly seats, tables and umbrellas. I ordered the Italian chicken cutlet. And my husband ordered the Italian combo grinder. HUGE!!! The bread on both was excellent! Lots of meat on the grinder. They do have some amazing looking cookies for dessert but we were to full! I also noticed they had bottled IPA's in the cooler.

It's here..this is the place you've all been looking for...a true local deli that stands up to the competition with quality, affordability and tastiness. They offer a great selection of breakfast items, sandwiches, paninis, salads and grinders all in a convenient location. I couldn't be more happy with the chicken cutlet grinder that I tried. Crispy made in house chicken cutlet on a solid grinder roll with Mayo, lettuce, tomatoes. I look forward to sampling more of their fantastic options and recommend that you do the same.

It's a typical Italian deli, there's a few tables in the main area and someone off to the side if you want to eat in! They are so much more than just deli food, they have a full catering menu and everything I've ever had from them has been delicious! Today I got the Il Padrino which has prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes and basil! So good and the bread is perfect for a panini! Definitely consider Alfredo's for all of your catering needs!

As I was leaving today from my first (and definitely not my last) lunch visit, I told the awesome staff "I hope to have reason to host a catered party so I can call you." *** The look and feel of this place screams of "home" to me. I'm from NJ and miss the true delis in every neighborhood. No offense to the Litchfield Hills, but I don't want books, artwork for sale, or jazz in my deli - and I sure don't want prefabricated sandwiches that are trying to inspire my esoteric side. Alfredo's just hits home. Home cooking. Very generous portion. Fantastic bread/rolls. Staff that made my experience great beyond expectation (they even gave me a sample of the day's special panini for my feedback... spoiler alert, it was terrific)! From what I tried today, everything was good. But the chicken cutlet is literally worth the drive from anywhere.

Which brings me to my newly crowned favorite sandwich - Tongue On Rye; ask for the tip slices very lean. I even got a dependable guarantee from our server she'd provide an unforgettable tongue sandwich. In a comedic mood, I asked our server to not give me any lip! She doubled over giggling and said thank you for your honesty and THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I've been asked just Tongue with "No Lip." Despite the comedy and light hearted conversation the table for two was perfect Harry & Sally style! Watching the action, enjoying the lean tongue on rye with mustard an unforgettable delight.

The still tastes good, with some exceptions. The frier oil seemed burnt, so the pickle chips we had just had that little bit of carbon taste on them. The pickle chips batter was very thick, and the mayo was the only respite. The sandwich, still tasty, seemed much smaller than normal, the meat still had good flavor, but the portion was lighter in comparison. The prices are also a bit high. The sandwich coming out to about 15 bucks. The bargain is very much gone now, and the portion is okay for a sandwich but pricy because of this shrinkage. Not shown are the overcooked onion rings. We returned those and the server promptly removed them from the bill. So really good customer service. I opted for a brownie for dessert, and the brownie was a disappointment. Too sugary, no flavor, gummy, and disappointingly small and thin. A detractor for sure. As a deli, it feels like it's on the decline. I know things are pricier now, but what you pay vs what you get doesn't match up. I'm hoping they pivot from this path, but right now it's no longer my go-to. It's still tasty, just pricy

From the moment you see the elegant vintage sign and bright red double doors, you know you're in for something authentic. The interior feels warm and welcoming, with a big, clear menu board that makes ordering easy. They have a solid selection of hot and cold sandwiches, breakfast options, and coffee. I went with one of their specials -- it looked like a chicken cutlet or eggplant variation with fresh greens (possibly arugula), roasted red peppers or similar, and what appeared to be a touch of egg or cheese. Whatever it was, it was excellent. The sandwich came on a perfect crusty Italian roll -- the bread was fresh with a great chew and slight crisp on the outside. The fillings were generous, flavorful, and well-balanced. The greens added a nice peppery bite that cut through the richness of the protein and any sauces. It was one of those sandwiches where every bite tastes just as good as the last. Service was friendly and efficient (the guy behind the counter was busy but still took time to make sure everything was right). The place has that old-school deli atmosphere mixed with modern touches -- exactly what you want when you're craving a quality sandwich. If you're in the area and looking for a no-nonsense, delicious deli sandwich made with care, Petraroia Deli is worth a visit. I'll definitely be back to try more from the hot sandwich list (the Porchetta and Chicken Cordon Bleu both caught my eye). Pro tip: Check their hours -- they appear to be closed on Mondays. *Highly recommend the fried artichoke sandwich. .

I'd honestly give it a 4.5 if that were possible, but since 4 felt too low, I'm rounding up. It was stellar. The spot itself is super quaint, tucked into a charming little rural town that seriously felt like it belonged on a Hallmark movie set. The staff were incredibly friendly and helped us choose our order, which was much appreciated. I went with the classic Italian combo, and it was absolute perfection. Seriously, a sandwich doesn't get better than this. The meat-to-bread ratio was spot on, and the mix of mayo with oil and vinegar added amazing flavor. The bread was just right--chewy enough to have a nice pull, but soft enough that it didn't fall apart or make the sandwich hard to eat. Highly recommend. We also tried the turkey club, which was tasty but not quite as successful due to the ciabatta bread. It was a bit too hard, and the fillings kept sliding out, making it tough to eat. Still, the flavors were great, and I was pleasantly surprised by the mustard. I wasn't expecting it on a club, but it worked well. Overall, would definitely come back!
