I'm from NJ and miss the true delis in every neighborhood. No offense to the Litchfield Hills, but I don't want books, artwork for sale, or jazz in my deli - and I sure don't want prefabricated sandwiches that are trying to inspire my esoteric side. Alfredo's just hits home. Home cooking. Very generous portion. Fantastic bread/rolls. Staff that made my experience great beyond expectation (they even gave me a sample of the day's special panini for my feedback... spoiler alert, it was terrific)! They do have daily specials - the day I was there they were pushing a buffalo mac and cheese available on a sandwich or as a stand alone dish. The women at the deli were even kind enough to send my dog a piece of cheese when they noticed him being walked in the parking lot (an especially kind gesture because I did not plan to share my breakfast sandwich). They also have an ice cream station that serves local Peaches N Cream ice cream (although not particularly hopping in November).
