I'm back. I come here once a month for the coconut soup. This is my first time dining here in years. It was BYOB back then. They have nice decor, classic Thai music and nice decor. This restaurant was bought 5/6 years ago by the Chinese restaurant across the street. Their building was demolished. For my first drink, I'm having a Singha. Singha is Thailand's original premium lager, first brewed in 1933, known for its rich taste with strong hop character, and is often paired with spicy food. Its logo features the mythical golden lion (Singha) and the Garuda, a symbol of royal approval, making it a distinctive Thai brand with significant international sponsorships in sports like Formula 1 and football. The name also refers to numerous Thai restaurants worldwide that serve its cuisine. They have only beer and wine here. The cold beer glass matches the brand of the beer! This is good. It's cold and easy to drink. For my salad, I'm having the SomTum. Som Tum Thai (Green Papaya Salad) is a beloved Thai salad characterized by a vibrant mix of shredded green papaya, chilies, garlic, cherry tomatoes, long beans, roasted peanuts, and dried shrimp. The dish is defined by its bold, refreshing balance of spicy, savory, tangy, and slightly sweet flavors, often dressed with fish sauce, lime juice, and palm sugar. This is good! It's a big portion. I love the fresh iceberg lettuce cups. For my soup, I'm having tom Yum. Tom yum is a popular Thai hot and sour soup, known for its aromatic broth flavored with lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, and chilies, balanced with lime juice, fish sauce, and sugar. The most common version, Tom Yum Goong, features shrimp, but it can also be made with chicken, pork, or seafood. It comes in a clear broth (nam sai) or a creamy version (nam khon), which adds evaporated milk or chili paste. This is hot and yummy! Lots of chicken! The tomatoes retain a lot of heat! For my my entree, I'm having the Massaman Curry with chicken. Massaman curry is a rich, mild, and flavorful Thai curry with Persian and Indian influences, known for its complex, aromatic spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves, and its creamy texture from coconut milk, peanuts, and potatoes. It's less spicy than other Thai curries and balances sweet, salty, and sour tastes, often made with chicken, beef, or duck, and served with rice. They add peanuts too! I'm going to Christen a bottle of Melinda's Bhut Jolokia Ghost Pepper sauce. The pepper is supposedly 1M Scoville units. Yeah. That's hot. The sauce is not that hot. It's maybe 50K Scoville units. The Massaman Curry is real good! It's hot and delicious. What a great meal here! read more

I've only had take out from this place so I'll only be speaking on my take out experience. We have ordered here twice. Both times we enjoyed our food. I'm a vegetarian so I'm always on the lookout for good vegetarian food. We tried the Thai spring rolls, Drunken noodles (which might be made with oyster sauce so be aware if you are vegetarian) with tofu and sesame bean curd. By far our favorite was the sesame tofu (bean curd). It was crispy and light, slightly sweet and spicy and overall tasty. I've tried several other places in the area and this is my fav so far. The veggie spring rolls were also very tasty, but small. Still great tho, I don't love huge portions, but I did wish I had more of these (shared these and my roommate loved them). When I went to pick up inside the place looked clean, although when I went to the counter the couple and their (i assume) daughter did not seem very interested in getting up to help me. The daughter did eventually and she was very kind. Overall I did enjoy my take out experience here and will order here again sometime. read more

Food is always great, including the satay, which is wonderful. Dont know what the word is for thai novice, but I always get pad thai without fish sauce BC I'm allergic to fish and shellfish. Always gr8! Would highly recommend. read more

I met a friend here on a weekday night. It was my first time here. There is parking right on Main Street but also ample parking behind the restaurant as well. It was pretty quiet as there were only two other tables with customers. The decor felt very Thai with lots of fake flowers and strings of lights. Our server was just lovely in every way. I ordered the yellow curry with tofu, medium spicy. I cannot remember what my friend ordered but it was vegetarian also and they were very pleased. My yellow curry came out nice and hot with the perfect amount of rice on the side. I absolutely loved this dish! There were chunks of white potato, sweet potato, tofu, green beans, tomato and pineapple in a delicious coconut milk broth. I ate every bit of this dish and sadly I had to deny my urge to lick the bowl! I would love to return for lunch on a weekend to try other vegetarian options. read more

My wife and I came on a busy Saturday for lunch. We were greeted and sat at a table of our choice immediately. The interior is unchanged from previous ownership and was nice and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive to our requests. We ordered two apps, the fresh spring rolls with shrimp and fried veggie spring rolls. For our mains we ordered the lunch specials, drunken noodles and spicy noodles with wonton soup and hot tea. Everything was delicious, and we couldn't tell any difference from the previous ownership. Met some friends for lunch today at Sukhothai. Clean, pleasant interior (perhaps a bit dated), a table by the window gave us a nice view of passersby & dogs on Main Street. Service was great - attentive. Checking back if we needed anything, how our food was, etc Food was delicious. I had the lunch portion of pineapple fried rice & it was a good sized portion for $10. Pineapple, cashews, and other veggies mixed in with the rice. I ate the whole thing! My friends had the lunch special for $14. Included soup ( there are 5 types) or salad. Also tea or ice cream. The restaurant felt a bit dark and gloomy as the decor and seating was a bit dated. The owners seem friendly and were very polite when serving us. The flavors of the food were very good, but my curry did come out less than warm which was disappointing. There wasn't much of it as well so for the price, I thought it was a bit lackluster. read more

Ordered food for delivery online. Pad Thai - The portion was smaller than I expected. The dish was good. It was a little too sweet for me and not balanced (after the lime was added). Wonton Soup (Pork) - It was ok and kind of boring. It would be nice to see a vegetable in it like a scallion or bok choy. Beef Teriyaki, chicken finger, fried chicken - This was not good. It might be better if I was black out drunk at 2am. It comes with fries up I upgraded for some pork fried rice. Beef teriyaki was ok. The chicken fingers weren't cooked thoroughly, the batter wasn't completely dough yet. The wings were a little greasy. The rice absorbed a lot of the grease and wasn't good. read more

We visited this restaurant for many years under the previous management We loved the atmosphere and the staff. Tonight we went for the first time since the new management. We were delighted to see that it is very much the same. The staff was equally welcoming and gracious. The four of us each had a different entrée and all were really delicious. The menu still includes the Thai dishes we had before, but there are now many more offerings especially Chinese. My spouse and I have been dining regularly at this restaurant since it was introduced to us around 18 years ago. We absolutely love the place! The service is friendly, prompt, and efficient. Over time, we've gotten to know the owners and, at least for me, I appreciate that kind of connection with staff. I have tried many items on the menu, but my regular order is usually the Drunken Noodle with chicken or the Basil Fried Rice (also with chicken). They have great appetizers from which to choose and their soups always arrive piping hot - wonderful when coming in out of the cold. When I get dessert, it is almost always the sticky rice with mango. Unbeatable in its flavor and contrast between the sweetness of the rice and slight acidity of the mango. At times, we've explored vegetarian options or have customized items slightly due to dietary restrictions and they've always accommodated us. E.G. One can substitute steamed veggies for rice or use a brown sauce instead of a sweet sauce. The ambiance is casual and relaxed, but I feel it can be romantic, too, especially if a couple pops in during a lull in business. Sukhothai is an absolute treasure on main street. It's a fun place to meet, grab a window seat and people watch the food is outstanding I have never had anything that I didn't enjoy from there and I have been going there for at least 12 years. My favorite is the pineapple fried rice or the M8 chicken with cashew nut. The mai tai and the winter shrimp are my favorite appetizers. I am hard-pressed to find a restaurant in Manchester, that I love more than this one, it really is special. read more

I have been going to this place for a while. Generally I go on week day evenings, and this place is kind of empty. Masamman curry is my favorite dish here. Drunken noodles is also good. I eat spicy food. So generally I ask them to make the drunken noodles spicy. They have green tea ice cream. Give it a shot if you never tried that flavor before. read more

Decent Thai food in Manchester. We order from here at least twice a month. They always honor our modification requests and they have generous portions. My only comment would be with the Massman curry, my favorite. It is very inconsistent, sometimes it's fabulous, once in a while it has no flavor at all. If they ever figure out how to deliver a consistent tasting meal I'll come back and give five stars. read more

I ordered delivery from here for dinner on a Saturday evening and was looking to some Thai food! We got the spare rib app, hot basil and pad see ew with beef. The order was on time and got delivered hot and well packaged. The portions were a little small considering the price and the noodles didn't have much meat or broccoli. The spare ribs are also lacking much meat. However, the food was delicious and everything tasted great. I'd recommend a visit, just keep in mind portion size. read more

I tried this restaurant years ago multiple times went back recently last year. The food is way too greasy for me and lacked flavor.

The worst Thai food I've ever had. Just ordered drunken noodles with chicken and Tom yum soup with tofu. The drunken noodles barely had any chicken in it and huge chunks of tomatoes that are not usually found in drunken noodles. Not really flavorful as well. This is very Americanized and does not have the usual Thai flavors that I was hoping to get. Very disappointed. Wound not recommended. read more

My Tom Yum soup was one of the better ones I've had; the Pad Kee Mau luncheon portion was more than adequate and spiced borderline nuclear. Dessert was included and I selected ginger ice cream which I found very refreshing and a wonderful way to conclude the meal. First time ordering Thai delivery. Process from start to finish made me so happy ! Originally, I was planning on ordering delivery for an event from a Thai place in my town but they are closed on Sundays. I've never heard to Sukhothai but they were close by and offered Grubhub delivery. It was very easy to order on Grubhub and they had numerous dishes that you can typically find at any Thai place. I ordered pad Thai, drunken noodles, chicken satay, massaman curry, Penang curry, wontons, pineapple fried rice and basil fried rice. I ordered pretty last minute but Grubhub was able to deliver right on time. The order arrived super neatly (no spills and VERY fresh and nice and hot). They clearly labeled the dishes as well - that was super helpful since I ordered some veggie dishes and I wanted to easily separate those from the dishes with meat. I was very impressed with every single dish ! Very tasteful, non soggy, and very appetizing both to the eye and the tummy. All of my guests also enjoyed the food. I would absolutely order from the again (sit down ) and do delivery ! Happy to see the availability of Thai delivery . Only tiny tiny negative - was maybe after the wontons sat for awhile, the wonton skin got very hard and crunchy. But perhaps there are people who love their appetizers super crispy . read more
