One pea tends to stick to her egg's benedict and home fries combo, it's a tip top egg benny. Popped in for breakfast today - everyone loved their meals from the burger to french toast and egg and cheese on a delicious roll, everything was awesome. Even the coffee was delicious. My wife and I had 1 hotdog and 1 fry each which came to over $25. The buns were toasted only on one side and crushed as though something heavy had been placed on them. Wife's fries were cold. My husband and I ate here about a year ago and I remember it being good. Today was not the same. We were there fairly early and found a booth. We were greeted right away and given menus. There seemed to be a lot of local there that all knew each other. I ordered a bacon, egg, cheese on hard roll and 1 piece of French toast. My husband had a sausage, cheese, kielbasa omelette. Nothing complicated there, but it took close to 30 minutes for our food. We watched others get their sandwiches and food as we waited. The waitress came over and said something about there being a lot of orders but it would be out soon. Once we got our food, it wasn't even hot. Lukewarm at best and nothing worth 39 minutes of waiting. I was pretty disappointed. The atmosphere is very cute and homey. Our waitress was friendly. Stopped in for breakfast this morning w/ the wife. I ordered the French Toast Special, my wife went with a Steak & Eggs breakfast. Meals came out after a short time, right away, I noticed they were very heavy handed with the whipped cream on my French Toast. Seemed like they must have used at least half a can (see my pic). Was wondering if all that whipped cream was hiding something, because I couldn't see my French Toast at all. Well, once I started wading through the whipped cream to get to the French Toast, I was underwhelmed with the flavor (or better put, the lack of flavor) of my meal. Was bland & boring, disappointing. My wife's meal was better -- her steak was decent tasting, and the home fries were tasty, seasoned very well. Overall though, I have to disagree with the other reviews for Jimmy's On The River. It seems to be an average breakfast place (at best). It's a weak 3 Star rating, IMO. I would come back in the future, but next time I would go with a egg based meal rather than pancakes or French Toast. read more

Inside the decor is updated and clearly frequented by regular clients with the servers greeting them by name and even knowing their order before they sit. Jimmy's has been a regular stop for my wife and I for a few years now. Jimmy is one of the few cooks I know that know how to make your eggs the way you ordered them. This is probably my favorite breakfast in the area. Good service good food, served in the timely manner. My favorite is the peanut butter omelette with banana. It's sounds weird but I love it. And their hash browns are great too unlike anything I've ever had. The only downside to this place is small and it fills fast. If I drive there and see a million cars I'll keep driving. Have passed by this place many times and finally stopped for lunch on a nice summer day. My girlfriend and I both ordered the fish and chips and we decided to eat on the picnic table out back by the river. The food was great and the scenic view of the river was even better. Jimmy, the owner, greeted us as soon as we walked in as well as the waitress. I went here with my husband for the first time today. He wanted some pancakes and this place had decent reviews. He ordered a special that had both pancakes and French toast. He put a little syrup on the pancakes and we both tasted them and then he went to add some more and several HUGE BLACK ANTS came out of the syrup bottle onto his food. There were about 6 of them and they were still moving! Horrifying especially since we both had just had some of the same syrup. Syrup was on each table in a bottle with a nozzle on top. Some other patrons eating breakfast saw what happened and were equally disgusted. Needless to say, we lost our appetite and left immediately. My husband, toddler, and I got to Jimmy's on Sunday morning just after 9am. It's a very small restaurant without a ton of tables. We were lucky that a table had just left as we were walking in. We had to wait a few minutes for the waitress to clean off the table. There were two waitresses and both seemed pretty busy. It's seat yourself so we grabbed it up right away. I was happy to see that they had a couple highchairs available. It took a while for a waitress to bring us menus and take our drink order. Throughout the meal our waitress was fairly inattentive. Though she was nice enough, she didn't ask us if our food was ok (which it wasn't) or if we needed anything else (which we did). My husband and I got iced coffees, which weren't great. The flavor was very weak. I wouldn't recommend it. We each got eggs, toast, and home fries. The food was good, nothing special. We ordered our toddler a pancake with fruit, a pretty awesome treat for him. Unfortunately when they brought it to the table the middle was uncooked. They made us a new one once we were able to flag down our waitress, but taking a pancake away from a toddler and asking them to wait for a new one isn't very fun. read more

It's basically diner food, so you wouldn't expect to pay a ton anyway, but it's easy to completely fill yourself up and spend under $10. * The waitresses were very nice and accommodating. * Once you sit down, service is fast. Cons: * While we were at the bar -- and we were there for a while -- the waitstaff handled a lot of money to complete orders, then handled bread and toast for orders, without washing their hands. The hand-washing sink wasn't used once. * The food is, sadly, mediocre. I had hash browns and they were extremely freezer burnt. The coffee was lousy and the roast beef sandwich didn't really have much flavor. My stomach was sour from all of the salt by the time we left. * The atmosphere is a little difficult for the owners to control, but can make a huge difference in your dining experience. For us, we could barely hear each other over the echo of 20-30 other patrons' conversations around us. The dining area is a single room with a high ceiling and it ended up feeling more like a crowded bar than a restaurant. On top of that, the table may have been wiped down, but the seats were covered in crumbs and chunks of food and were cracked and very uncomfortable to sit on. Over all, you get what you pay for. It's an easy stop for a bite to eat, but it's not going to impress. read more

Their 3 XL-egg omlettes are delicious (my favorite spinach, tomato & feta cheese). They'll make just about anything you request. The pumpkin pancakes (seasonal) with the autumn butter is scrumptious. They make you feel like family here. It may get busy, but it is surely worth the wait. The time waiting gives people the time to relax and talk (away from their phones). A good meal is worth the wait. There's always daily specials, and the homemade soups are delicious, along with their burgers, onion rings and hot dogs! read more

Another restaurant that has sadly gone down hill , all new staff the last few months and tragically not for the better , the older waitress with dark black brown hair is completely incompetent and reminds me of Edith from "all in the family " , keeps going back and forth forgetting things , first the silverware , then the napkins , then pad for taking orders . Very clumsy and borderline senile , kept bumping into things and dropping plates . Went to bring me ketchup and of course stretched her arm into my food and dropped it spilling all over table .
