Passed by this cute little spot a few times before finally just pulling over to pop in. This breakfast sandwich was so good! It matched with the employee energy. I smiled a lot, left full, and even got a piece of cake from a customer having a birthday celebration. read more

The service was great and the newly remodeled restaurant is very nice. Unfortunately, The french toast breakfast was highly disappointing. I've heard great things about Jimmy's but the taste just wasn't there for our meal. read more

This place has become a part of two peas' Shamrock Walk ritual, we do the walk and ofc we have to get breakfast at Jimmy's. 2 years in a row now. 1. One pea tends to stick to her egg's benedict and home fries combo, it's a tip top egg benny. Perfect amount of runny yolk and the home fries she gets extra crispy. 2. the other pea normally gets her a cheese omelet and home fries combo. Perfect breakfast in her opinion. Never a bad experience! read more

Giant portions. Can walk outside by the river. Excellent staff. Quality food. Probably the best diner in the Bristol area. It almost seems hidden, but it's right there. Plenty of seating. Very accommodating. read more

Disappointed Food - Lunch was overcooked. onion rings burnt, clam strips burnt, Service was good, Inside/outside looks great, Great renovations from our last visits. Extremely disappointed in food quality and price...handful of burnt clam strips with 2 handfuls of fries $18 Burnt onion rings handful $5 Found out after paying that they sneek in A sneeky extra $2 charge for using charge card. With no notice ...that should be illegal if not notified before paying. We will not be returning. read more

Great atmosphere, Great food Great service Overall the best breakfast or lunch spot around read more

The service left a lot to be desired for a pick up order. Upon arrival I was charged for my items along with a completely different order on mistake because the communication between staff was lacking. The ambiance of the restaurant is cute and cozy, small. The food was fine. Nothing outstanding but overall it was alright. Overpriced for what it was. I paid $8 for a breakfast sandwich with just sausage and cheese. read more

Great little spot and I'm so glad I found it! Popped in for breakfast today - everyone loved their meals from the burger to french toast and egg and cheese on a delicious roll, everything was awesome. Even the coffee was delicious. Servers were all incredibly sweet and accommodating. Great patio for warmer weather, too! Jimmy's checks all the boxes and I will definitely be returning soon. read more

My wife and I had 1 hotdog and 1 fry each which came to over $25. The buns were toasted only on one side and crushed as though something heavy had been placed on them. Wife's fries were cold. The last time we ate there which was only a few weeks ago the same items cost just $17. Used to be a somewhat regular customer but I don't think I'll ever be going back. Wish I could give a "0" rating. read more

M M This restaurant was very nice we sat outside by the river we had three kids in a small dog they were able to play on the grass while we waited for our food which was brought out to us and nice to go containers the food was so good all three kids ate their food read more

My husband and I ate here about a year ago and I remember it being good. Today was not the same. We were there fairly early and found a booth. We were greeted right away and given menus. There seemed to be a lot of local there that all knew each other. I ordered a bacon, egg, cheese on hard roll and 1 piece of French toast. My husband had a sausage, cheese, kielbasa omelette. Nothing complicated there, but it took close to 30 minutes for our food. We watched others get their sandwiches and food as we waited. The waitress came over and said something about there being a lot of orders but it would be out soon. Once we got our food, it wasn't even hot. Lukewarm at best and nothing worth 39 minutes of waiting. I was pretty disappointed. The atmosphere is very cute and homey. Our waitress was friendly. Not sure if the problem was with her or the kitchen. read more

Great food, mediocre owner. Kidding! He's great also and cares about putting a quality product on your plate. Extensive menu. Have only tried their bfast so far but the homemade corned beef hash eggs benedict was awesome and he will always have hot peppers there of many different varieties and heats which he hooked me up with! Great service, great staff. Will definitely be back! Update: They will make you ANY customized item you want! New egg sangwich pics will show that. Soo amazing and not even a second thought from the restaurant to make it exactly how I wanted it. Service to me is #1 and these guys are freakin awesome! Love this place!! read more

Stopped in for breakfast this morning w/ the wife. I ordered the French Toast Special, my wife went with a Steak & Eggs breakfast. Meals came out after a short time, right away, I noticed they were very heavy handed with the whipped cream on my French Toast. Seemed like they must have used at least half a can (see my pic). Was wondering if all that whipped cream was hiding something, because I couldn't see my French Toast at all. Well, once I started wading through the whipped cream to get to the French Toast, I was underwhelmed with the flavor (or better put, the lack of flavor) of my meal. Was bland & boring, disappointing. My wife's meal was better -- her steak was decent tasting, and the home fries were tasty, seasoned very well. Overall though, I have to disagree with the other reviews for Jimmy's On The River. It seems to be an average breakfast place (at best). It's a weak 3 Star rating, IMO. I would come back in the future, but next time I would go with a egg based meal rather than pancakes or French Toast. read more

This place has ample seating inside and out. Outside you can hear the babbling river sitting at picnic tables. Inside the decor is updated and clearly frequented by regular clients with the servers greeting them by name and even knowing their order before they sit. The menu is online and at the door on your way to be seated. The prices are reasonable too. You can't go wrong with The River Special - 2 eggs, homefries or hashbrowns, with bacon, links or patty, toast and coffee for only $6.95! read more

Jimmy's has been a regular stop for my wife and I for a few years now. Jimmy is one of the few cooks I know that know how to make your eggs the way you ordered them. When you order "over easy", you don't want a solid yoke. Service is fast and Lori and Dory are friendly and Social and make you feel welcome. Great local spot!!!!! read more

Waitresses were great. Cool small place! However, Food wasn't the best ordered crispy home fries and received boiled home fries or soggy? This is probably my favorite breakfast in the area. Good service good food, served in the timely manner. My favorite is the peanut butter omelette with banana. It's sounds weird but I love it. And their hash browns are great too unlike anything I've ever had. The only downside to this place is small and it fills fast. If I drive there and see a million cars I'll keep driving. It's nothing against them, it's good food. read more

Have passed by this place many times and finally stopped for lunch on a nice summer day. My girlfriend and I both ordered the fish and chips and we decided to eat on the picnic table out back by the river. The food was great and the scenic view of the river was even better. Jimmy, the owner, greeted us as soon as we walked in as well as the waitress. I recommend this to anyone who likes a small family place and is passing from a long drive or would like to sop in for a bite to eat. We'll definitely be stopping back here. read more

My absolute favorite go-to breakfast and/or lunch place in the entire world. The home fries are addicting and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is small town and friendly. The staff cares about their customers, they remember the regulars and check in about their lives. Always friendly, warm and never once disappointed with a single thing. I'm at this restaurant at least once a week. Wish they were open later ! read more

We wanted to try something new, so my husband and I stopped by here for late breakfast recently. We were pretty underwhelmed by the whole experience. And though we won't be going back, I still think it might be a worthwhile stop for someone else who wants a basic, cheap meal. Pros: * The food is affordable. It's basically diner food, so you wouldn't expect to pay a ton anyway, but it's easy to completely fill yourself up and spend under $10. * The waitresses were very nice and accommodating. * Once you sit down, service is fast. Cons: * While we were at the bar -- and we were there for a while -- the waitstaff handled a lot of money to complete orders, then handled bread and toast for orders, without washing their hands. The hand-washing sink wasn't used once. * The food is, sadly, mediocre. I had hash browns and they were extremely freezer burnt. The coffee was lousy and the roast beef sandwich didn't really have much flavor. My stomach was sour from all of the salt by the time we left. * The atmosphere is a little difficult for the owners to control, but can make a huge difference in your dining experience. For us, we could barely hear each other over the echo of 20-30 other patrons' conversations around us. The dining area is a single room with a high ceiling and it ended up feeling more like a crowded bar than a restaurant. On top of that, the table may have been wiped down, but the seats were covered in crumbs and chunks of food and were cracked and very uncomfortable to sit on. Over all, you get what you pay for. It's an easy stop for a bite to eat, but it's not going to impress. read more

I've heard so many great things about this restaurant. My fiancé and I went on a weekday during breakfast to see what everyone was raving about. The food came out warm, not hot and tasted average compared to other restaurants I've been to in town. The service was okay and the food wasn't bad, but it's unlikely we would return. read more

Good place for breakfast as long as you have plenty of time or the morning off. It now been over 45 minutes 5 cups of coffee for eggs over easy...REALLY! I don't mind waiting if it's busy as I expect that but it's a Friday morning almost 10am I will not be back here, sad because it's a nice little place. read more

I went here with my husband for the first time today. He wanted some pancakes and this place had decent reviews. He ordered a special that had both pancakes and French toast. He put a little syrup on the pancakes and we both tasted them and then he went to add some more and several HUGE BLACK ANTS came out of the syrup bottle onto his food. There were about 6 of them and they were still moving! Horrifying especially since we both had just had some of the same syrup. Syrup was on each table in a bottle with a nozzle on top. Some other patrons eating breakfast saw what happened and were equally disgusted. Needless to say, we lost our appetite and left immediately. They gave us what we had eaten "on the house" with a quick apology. NEVER AGAIN. read more

My search for the best breakfast place is over. The service was excellent, food was amazing & the atmosphere is cozy. I'm a huge breakfast fan & have been to every other place in the area & finally found the best one. Some of the things I look for in a great breakfast place is homemade hash, good coffee, fresh ingredients like spinach & mushrooms, and if they use real butter. read more

My husband, toddler, and I got to Jimmy's on Sunday morning just after 9am. It's a very small restaurant without a ton of tables. We were lucky that a table had just left as we were walking in. We had to wait a few minutes for the waitress to clean off the table. There were two waitresses and both seemed pretty busy. It's seat yourself so we grabbed it up right away. I was happy to see that they had a couple highchairs available. It took a while for a waitress to bring us menus and take our drink order. Throughout the meal our waitress was fairly inattentive. Though she was nice enough, she didn't ask us if our food was ok (which it wasn't) or if we needed anything else (which we did). My husband and I got iced coffees, which weren't great. The flavor was very weak. I wouldn't recommend it. We each got eggs, toast, and home fries. The food was good, nothing special. We ordered our toddler a pancake with fruit, a pretty awesome treat for him. Unfortunately when they brought it to the table the middle was uncooked. They made us a new one once we were able to flag down our waitress, but taking a pancake away from a toddler and asking them to wait for a new one isn't very fun. read more

Jimmy's on the River is a great family restaurant with friendly waitresses and nice atmosphere. If you like hot, the hot Italian sausage burger with peppers and onions is amazing! Their 3 XL-egg omlettes are delicious (my favorite spinach, tomato & feta cheese). They'll make just about anything you request. The pumpkin pancakes (seasonal) with the autumn butter is scrumptious. They make you feel like family here. It may get busy, but it is surely worth the wait. The time waiting gives people the time to relax and talk (away from their phones). A good meal is worth the wait. There's always daily specials, and the homemade soups are delicious, along with their burgers, onion rings and hot dogs! read more

Another restaurant that has sadly gone down hill , all new staff the last few months and tragically not for the better , the older waitress with dark black brown hair is completely incompetent and reminds me of Edith from "all in the family " , keeps going back and forth forgetting things , first the silverware , then the napkins , then pad for taking orders . Very clumsy and borderline senile , kept bumping into things and dropping plates . Went to bring me ketchup and of course stretched her arm into my food and dropped it spilling all over table . Didn't apologize either just sad , " oh well the show must go on " , what show ?!? Do you even know where you are ? Just sad . No tip snd will not return read more
