And it is a CASH ONLY establishment and an ATM can be found inside. They also cycle through different specials that sound mouthwatering every time. Ambiance (4/5): The establishment is like a house converted into a diner. The inside dining area is extremely loud and overlooks the kitchen. There's also a half outdoor wrap around porch which has more natural lighting and manageable noise levels. The theme of the restaurant is plastered in cows! Service (5/5): They are unbelievably busy so you have to expect that your orders will take a little longer but the staff are incredible. They make you laugh and will go out of their way to offer you more. There are two gender neutral bathrooms with changing tables. There is counter service & an open kitchen. Taken aback by all of the morbidly obese people here. Previously Maureen's was very reasonable now entrees are $15 to $25. The omelet sounded great, but $17 for today's special is a bit much, especially since leftover omelets are disappointing. I love Maureen's! Ironically I have not have had breakfast here but I come usually for lunch. I order the same thing every time-turkey, bacon, Swiss and Russian dressing on grilled sourdough or rye I think. The turkey is sliced thin as I like it and the bacon is nice and crispy. I usually get fries as a side. They aren't fresh cut but they are crispy and hot. Sometimes they have the Boar's head horseradish bread and butter pickle chips which I love but not always available. I have been curious to try the pistachio muffin. I may change it up and try a different sandwich next time. Excellent service and they always are friendly there. This places whole deal is actually kind of comical. I come here maybe once every 5 years. First off, parking is always a nightmare. Secondly, I don't even bother trying to get a table. There is nothing special about this food, and you're gonna pay handsomely for it. The savory dishes lack flavor. If I wanted flavorless potatoes, I could have made them at home for a fraction of the price and burned the extra $5 for the ambiance. Lastly, and perhaps my most favorite reason I will not give these people my business again, is the 'cash only' grift they have going on. I don't feel the need to line their pockets via tax fraud. I have learned my lesson. I will teach myself how to make croissant French toast, and be better off for it. Came here as a child and loved the smell of the pancakes. Now it is always a challenge to even get a table at this place as it has grown so much in popularity. I think the food is still great and would love to come here often. They expanded the outdoor area to be indoor seating to accommodate the extra patrons. Cute and fun place. My daughter love the farm theme and the cow statues and decorations. Despite being so busy, once you sit down you are cared for comfortably so you dont feel squeezed like a diner in NYC. Food is also very good too; pretty fresh and generous portions (sometimes a little over the top with things on your pancake). The restaraunt is in a"farm house " , that welcomes you with a big cow outside ! It's medium to loud , depending on where you sit. That is said without complaint ;) The menu is large and eclectic. The specials always intriguing and always delicious . We had omelets , home fries and shared banana walnut pancakes . It is crazy to me how many people they try to fit in this place with such a small lot. If the parking lot is full, DON'T PARK AT CVS! They will tow your car and I have seen it happen. It is the best idea to get there early. I got there around 7:45 am on a Sunday and there were plenty of tables. By the time I left at 8:30 am, majority of the tables were taken. Service: Nice! They are sweet and charming in the morning! Since it wasn't a full house, my table got the attention from our server. I have been coming here for years. Today I ordered my usual: a small baked oatmeal. I also ordered the special: the sweet potato pancake with blueberries and pecans. I ordered one; and upon request, my waitress Lola provided me some extra blueberries. She did not charge me for the blueberries, either. What outstanding customer services she provided. The menu has a little bit for everyone and if it's a basic egg sandwich your looking for like me it is by far in its own class and can hardly be called BASIC. When they toast your bread it tastes like they use a toaster instead of just throwing it on the grill witch sometimes can pick up a funny flavor. The bacon here is of highest quality. The eggs are made to order and my fried over medium were exactly that. Sounds so easy to make an egg sandwich but to make it right is another whole story. Our server named Ashy was top notch.
