Horrible experience. On Christmas Day, we were having just family (about 10 people due to Covid) at my house. We ordered extra food for Christmas Dinner from Master Chef the day before and made sure to ask them to have it at 4:30pm. They said no problem as it was before dinner. We went to pick up food at 4:30. They said it would be ready soon and we waited for 1 hour. They kept saying it would be cooked next. After 1 hour, we figured might as well go home and come back. They promised it would be ready in 1 hour. After 1 hour, we called and it was still not ready, but they said come in 30 minutes. 30 min later, we called and they said come now. They made us wait another 1 hour. All in all, we got our food about 4 hours after it was supposed to be ready, kept lying saying it would be ready soon and they ruined our Christmas dinner. Most guests ate the other food. The family got into an argument because half kept saying to just cancel the order and move on. It is just unfortunate they could not be up front with us. read more

You would expect a decent service from this nicely decorated pricy restaurant. Totally opposite! Our first time ordering a quick bite today. At dinner time, pretty much empty which can say something about the restaurant. When our food was ready, we asked the server whether forks and stuff were included in the bag. "Yes, everything is in the bag" the server said. But the fact is that only food and two bags of soy sauce in the bag. We phoned the restaurant right away, instead of apologizing, the lady said "I forgot. You can come back to get it." We already drove away. She put the manager on the phone, apparently he isn't qualified to be a manager or he just want to piss off the customers more. He said "you want forks? Did you ask for it". My lord! It will be a miracle if the restaurant stays open and is profitable with these unprofessional and impolite servers/managers. Foodwise?! Average! Dropped off my kid at a birthday party at Bounce and came here for a meal thinking there might be dim sum available. Opened the doors and was very surprised to see the inside decor. Very fancy, elevated and not your typical chinese restaurant. We were greeted by very friendly wait staff and sat at a booth next to the window. Dinnerware might have been Corningware, but the placemats and teapots/cups were all so nice! I was not expecting it all, or else I would've dressed a bit fancier. Legit just had a tank top and denim shorts on. Luckily, the other patrons were a mix of casual to a bit dressed up. I really wanted to try their sushi rolls but as I would've been the only one eating them, I got our usuals at Chinese restaurants. Salt and pepper calamari - delicious! Bite size pieces and generous portions Singapore mei fun - Noodles were more vermicelli as opposed to mei fun but flavor was great! Char siu (roast pork appetizer) - looked juicy enough but it was a jerky like texture. Wouldn't order again Chicken pineapple fried rice - Kids loved it! Steamed chicken and veggies - Hubby that's on a diet liked it and esp liked that they put the brown sauce on the side. Also worth noting this was the most expensive item we ordered ($18!) I travel the entire lower New York region as a home office representative and as such over many years (5 decades to be exact), I have dined (primarily for lunch) at select restaurants that I have become familiar with as being exceptional. Master Chef is one I have visited several times believing that I must be mistaken due to the poor quality of a place that is so elaborate in its decor and pricing, the food must somehow be far better than that which I was served each time over the years, so I returned again yesterday, only to find that the food is of very poor quality. To be exact, the hot and sour soup, though served in a quaint artistic bowl was full of food starch to make it thick and tasteless, the shrimp dumplings were full of filler with a tiny "fish bait" sized shrimp (other more authentic Chinese restaurants prepare the dumpling with large pieces of shrimp and little or no filler), the Sweet and Sour Chicken consisted of slivers of deep fried white meat chicken typically used in Chow Mein dishes, better restaurants serve large chunks of white meat, the sauce itself was typical but unremarkable. I will not be returning to this Chinese Palace, though impressively decorated, falls far short when it comes to Americanized Chinese fare, better Chinese restaurants are in Brooklyn for half the price and there is one impressive Chinese restaurant on 107 in Hicksville nearby, where I will be visiting today, I love Asian Food! read more

Five star restaurants are rare. Five star Chinese restaurants all but non existent. Some of the criteria to earn the five stars are quality of service, quality of food, value received for the price, preparation and presentation, décor and feel of the dining experience. Master Chef scores on each one of these points. Interesting and eclectic menu so that if you are a fan of "traditional" Chinese food like shrimp with lobster sauce you can find it here or if you are willing to experience authentic food you will be well pleased at the offerings. The décor is part of the experience and I felt I was entering the castle of the local land baron, truly unexpected. We were treated as important guests of the house with patience and professionalism rare in this sit em down and get them out world. What did we eat? Does it matter? They refused to cancel and hung up on me. I called back again, they refused to cancel, hung up again and never delivered any food. But they still charged my credit card. Ate here for the first time, last night. What a nice experience! Plenty of parking, good location and a beautiful interior! One of the nicest looking restaurants that I've ever been in. The service is very good and the food was also very good. My friends and I shared four different dished, they were all good. The prices are NOT on the cheap side, but I also wouldn't call them expensive. The COVID scandal has been very hard on businesses and I feel that we have to accept that everything is now more expensive and NOT bash a place because it may have had to raise it's prices. Ordered via Uber eats when in the mood for something new while visiting the island. We got scallion pancakes, veggie fried rice, chicken and broccoli, Kung Pao chicken and asked for chopsticks. The online menu was lacking: several dishes did not have any description and because we have food allergies among us that wasn't helpful. The order came with a paper menu which is well-organized and includes descriptions so we'll definitely explore more of the menu soon. Order was brought quickly by Xuan who was friendly. The order was packed really well and my chopsticks were right on top. The veggie fried rice and scallion pancakes were some of the best I've ever had. The chicken and broccoli was, hands down, the best ever. The broccoli was not over cooked in the slightest. That's rare. The Kung Pao chicken, while not bad, was the bummer. Labeled as spicy I was super excited for it but it was seriously lacking in flavor. Bland! Disappointing. We use to come to this restaurant when it was Empire and although the food was average at best, there was this owner that always treated you like family. He was always willing to give you a little more on top of the service. Today on Mothers Day we found a last minute reservation and I must say again pleasantly surprised by who I believe was the owner, as he comes up at the end of the meal and says he's gonna bring us 2 cakes, the food was above average, as I understand the area they are trying to cater to, so I will say most of it a little more salty or sweet, your not going to find food as you would in Flushing or Chinatown, but for something 30 miles out it will do. The service is the shining start here, you have attentive waiters and waitresses with the owner pitching in to do what he has to do. The speed of the foods for a packed out mother's day was just as impressive. We had my mom's birthday party here. We reserved the private room. After spending 430$, manager still mandatory charged us another 71$ to meet their 500$ minimum. We end up paid 660$ tips and tax everything. The worst part is 7 adults and 2 kids, 2 adults out of 7 got diarrhea, vomiting and fever on the second day. Two kids got it the same symptoms later. I've been to many Chinese restaurant and this was was really good. The atmosphere is very comfortable. lol, the carpet was so plush too, just something that stuck out to me. The waiter we had was also very nice and informative. They have tons of menu choices and chef specialties as well. The only thing I didn't like about this place was, I thought, the prices could've been a tad bit better. Other than that, the place was magnificent and I definitely would come back because the quality of the food was exceptional. I definitely recommend this restaurant P.S. Came here for a family birthday. The ambiance, probably the first thing one would notice, is beyond elegant and authentic. The food is extroadinary unique and delicous. I would strongly recommend ordering multiple appetizers such as pastrami egg rolls, steak rolls or cold spare ribs. Service is very good and we noticed the staff trying there best to anticipate needs. The acoustics, decor and table setting are all above and beyond. This includes the menus and detail of the staffs uniforms. They do honor reservations and have valet parking. The lighting is abundant and you can comfortable hold a conversation. My family and i decided to try a new chinese restaurant that opened up on Jericho turnpike. It had a great decor and very comfortable seating, however the experience we had was not as great. We decided to order 5 different dishes to see how the food was, when we received the 5 dishes, 2 of them were cold and one of them arrived 15 minutes after we received the rest of our food. Not only were these dishes over priced, but the portion sizes were ridiculous. If you're paying $20 for an ordinary sesame chicken, you expect it to at least be big, wouldn't you? But no, it could barely feed one person. If one person ate it, they'd still be hungry after and have to spend another $20 on another dish. We also decided to replace 2 of the complimentary sticky white rice with brown rice. We didn't think anything of this because we do this at every chinese place, however each rice replacement had a charge of $1.50. No one told us about this, and we've also never experienced an added charge to change white rice to brown rice. We also never received the complimentary tea kettles chinese restaurants usually leave on your table, we asked why this was (thinking they had forgotten) and they said you had to order that as well. Just a few more things to add to this review that we were unhappy with, they do not serve water bottles, they have no fortune cookies, and the service was slow. I will post a picture of the $20 beef and scallion dish we received for the table. It barely fed one person and it was such an average dish. The bottom line is it's good all around - a marked improvement over the string of Chinese restaurants that previously stood here - but reasonable minds will disagree whether all the improvements are worth the prices. Inside has been completely redone & redecorated, and it looks fabulous. Our waiter was initially very friendly and helpful, but once we got our food he disappeared for a long stretch when we needed refills of water & tea (which we had to ask for, not automatic...really good tea though!). The food is well-prepared and tasty, but not necessarily authentic and nothing really blew me away. Some modern and Americanized twists - for example the honey chicken comes with fried eggo waffles (it actually kinda worked). Twice cooked pork was not the Szechuan style dish I was expecting, but was still tasty. Supreme short ribs were very good, but a little difficult to eat due to their size. The Taiwanese pork buns were probably my favorite dish of the night, but I'm always biased for bao. The beef skewers and eggplant with garlic were both on par with my expectations. I would give this place 4 stars if they cut prices back by like 15-20%, but I guess they need to charge high prices to pay for the upgrades. Exquisite decoration and decor. Tried the lunch menu which were mostly in the $10 range. We had the Taiwanese Chicken cutlet dish. It was decent. The cutlet was deep fried and crispy. The hot and sour soup choice was nice and warming. The twice cooked pork was decent. For the appetizer, we tried the Sichuan wontons. There was more peanut sauce than hot sauce. Discovered a real gem in Syosset!! Driving along Jericho Turnpike we saw Master Chef glowing with bright lights. Upon arrival, the lot was full, so valet parking was a nice touch. We didn't have to worry about finding a spot in a full lot. The facade was newly renovated with beautiful landscaping. The foyer is completely new with marble floors. The decor was a nice upgrade as well. We were greeted by a friendly staff and despite the full restaurant were seated immediately. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and was recommended to order the fried fish and fish belly specialties. AMAZING!! LOVED IT!! DELICIOUS!! read more

Not sure why this place got some low stars. I really enjoyed the ambiance and the attentiveness the staff gave. As soon as you walk in the door the hostess greats you with the utmost warmest of comfort. The food was delicious, I got the Kung pao chicken and my wife got the shrimp fried rice. Went here for a Christmas early afternoon meal with good friends and both the food and the service were excellent. The booths are separated by curtains and are spotlessly sanitized. The restaurant itself is very attractive and well laid out. As others have mentioned, it is slightly pricey but as in all things, you get what you pay for. read more
