This has got to be a major f*#k up in every possible way. I wanted a simple lo mein and veggie dish after returning from back to back, hectic and indulging overseas trips.Ordered take out with the lady owner and it came to $17.65 for a " large" vegetable lo mein and a pint of broccoli in garlic sauce. Picked up on time and I was excited when I got home 7 miles away. Opened the quart of vegetable lo mein to realize that the only vegetables in this dish were 2 pieces of broccoli. I figured maybe the veggies were layered under the noddles but alas........ ! ( see photo). The noodles were tasteless. No flavor whatsoever. The broc in the other dish was raw. Just raw and crunchy and not cooked. There was a tiny bit of garlic sauce. I called back and the lady put me on hold for a bit. Not wanting to wait any longer, I drove down with the bag and all the contents. I waited for a customer to leave before very politely showing her the issues. She looked at them. Spoke to her husband who was cooking in the back and notified me that this was normal. This is how it comes. I could not help but burst out laughing. I asked again if she really was serious about this food that was not prepared well and lacking in every aspect. She said yes this is it. I asked for her name and she responded, " I am part time, the boss is never here". The funniest part of this episode is that the gentleman started yelling I mean yelling non stop for 2 minutes. I was so tempted to respond as I understood every single word. Then they both went in to start prepping the next few orders. I stood there for a few and looked around for the " Candid Camera" hostess to pop out; maybe even Ashton Kutcher with me as the latest ' Punk'd' victim but nope!! I ordered tofu w Chinese vegetables and garlic sauce w brown rice. The tofu was delicious and excellently prepared, tender on the inside and not greasy, chewy or soggy. The vegetables were crisp and fresh, not over- or undercooked. The sauce was tasty, and the egg roll was good. The food was freshly prepared and still piping hot by the time we sat down to eat! I tried them again recently after a long break since it is so conveniently located near my house... twice, just to make sure it wasn't a fluke they pulled this. Went to May Loong Kitchen last Thursday night, Just after the snow started comming down really hard and there was already 2 inches of snow on the ground. I went out to get food for myself and my kids and everything else any were around had closed hours ago. May Loong was still open and they did not look like they were closing anytime soon. Not sure about some of these other reviews on here but everything they said was good about this place did not hold up. I ordered online for take-out and I will say that when I arrived twenty minutes later the food was ready and there were no mistakes with it. Also one half of the restaurant was occupied by the owners sleeping daughter and tons of her toys, which I found very odd. Additionally the portions of each dish were very small, not that I am complaining because I hated my food. I ordered the Mongolian Beef medium spicy and first of all, it was not spicy at all, like not even a vague hint of spice which was disappointing. Not only did it not have any spice, but it also had no flavor. It looked like it had a sauce on it but when I tried it all I could taste was grease and nothing else. There were also like 6-7 pieces of beef and a ton of onion, so the portion size was really lacking there. I also had the wonton soup which not surprisingly, also had no flavor. I would not order either of these dishes again. My mom ordered the cashew chicken, and for some reason it was fried, when it has never been in the past which she wasn't happy about. I also gave it a taste and was not a fan of its vaguely sweet flavor. May Loong used to be my go too take out spot, but now that they have switched owners the place has gone extremely downhill. They used to crank out decent food and now the food is all but inedible. Go somewhere else. read more

Okay. So this was my first time ordering from this place. Yelp said there was free delivery if you spend a minimum of $10. So I place my order for a total around 25$. Within three minutes of the order being placed I get a call from the restaurant stating that there was a problem with my order and I wasn't charged the $1 delivery fee. I explained to the man that yelp had posted that there is free delivery if you spent a minimum of $10. He told me he would speak to the manager. When he came back to the phone he said I would have to pay the delivery person $1 cash. At this point I was getting upset. A phone call and a manager unwilling to wave a $1 fee when it is posted that there is no fee when you spend $10? You got to be kidding me. The second issue is that I got an email about my food delivery saying that my food was going to be delivered in 20 mins. It took 40 to get here. When I placed the order through yelp it said the average time is 40-60 minutes. I am fine with the wait, but please don't tell me it will be here in 20 minutes then make me wait 40. All in all the food is okay. I don't think I will be coming back to this place. It isn't with the hassle. The 2 minute drive to my regular Chinese place is worth it. At least they don't come after $1 and take 40 minutes to get my food ready. read more

Very good Chinese food, especially considering it's a take out restaurant. Under the new ownership, the quality improved dramatically. Tonight with my main dish I had probably the most flavorful hot and sour soup I've ever tasted!!! Not just hot beefy broth, there were interesting flavors that blended together and yet stand out just right. Amazing. And as simple as eggs roll that were provided free of charge; they were not the usual grease mess, but lightly crispy with unique flavors that stood out because they weren't doused in oil. Oh yum! We steered away from the old ownership because of poor cleanliness. Now we have bright and clean environs with a very friendly staff. It should also be noted that their delivery was very prompt and friendly and only a $1.00 surcharge. I defined recommend May Loong Kitchen and, who knows, maybe we'll meet there. read more

Your typical Americanized-Chinese food. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, you're in wrong place. But the greasy, MSG-loaded, yet delicious Chinese cuisine is at May Loong Kitchen. I usually pick up a lunch special here, which sadly does not come with a soup (usually Chinese restaraunt lunch specials include a soup or soda.) Priced at around $5.99, it comes with a generous portion of rice and protein. I usually get the general tso's or sesame chicken. Both are delicious! Crispy and not too much sauce. The fried rice is average but is great with hot sauce. The portions are large enough to fill the average person and also tastier than most other places I've had. Don't expect much higher than what you'd get at any other chinese fast food restaraunt. But for the price and what is is, May Loong seems to be a tad better than most! read more

Excellent Chinese takeout food. Got the sweet and sour chicken and was pleased to find that they used white breast meat with REAL fried rice. Real fried rice should be stir fried over high heat which imparts a slight smoky flavor to the grains. This is one of the very few that makes it properly. Also the owners are very friendly read more

On Saturday evening while visiting family in Syosset, I ordered food for a large group of 12 people. Less than 30 hours later 8 of the 12 people were violently ill (including a couple of small children). There was a variety of foods so not sure if this place is just dirty or what. As a side note, my family used to order from this place all the time for many years. The owner retired and some other family members took over and it has never been the same. Food doesn't taste as good and apparently now it's rotten. When my husband went to pick up the food, he said that there was a kid sprawled across 3 chairs under blankets sleeping. For all we know he was sick and it contaminated everything. Also, part of the order was wrong. They did come and deliver the correct item but took back the food that was wrong. They shouldn't be taking back food that was already with a customer. They're probably re-serving the food that they took back. Will never be ordering from this place again. read more

Maybe it's the fact that I ordered the food online. Maybe it's the hour it took for the food to arrive (which was what they estimated it to be). But the food tasted like it had been sitting in the car for a few hours. The rice tasted like it was barely cooked. The sesame chicken was sesame leather with how much the meat had dried out. This place is the BEST Chinese take out place in all the land. Everything is good and that includes the pork fried rice and all their regular beef and chicken dishes. If you go however, you absolutely must try the fried chicken wings or else you will rue the day you skipped such divinity.
