Stopped by for lunch out in Long Beach with the Oakland Ballers. Ended up picking Marinate Korean BBQ and decided on the Bulgogi Burrito. This was an instant hit. Full of flavor, spicy pork with kimchi, jalapeños and fresh added ingredients. The sauce had a great kick to it. Very impressed from a fast food joint. Service was very quick and friendly. In an open fast food market style location with plenty of options. Vibe is full of different folks looking for some great food to eat.

This was an unexpected treat. My friends and I went into this food hall where Marinate was one of the stalls. I built my own bowl with some multigrain rice and the Spicy Thin Pork Belly as my protein. I loaded it up with a bunch of different veggies and it was delicious. The rice was cooked perfectly-- not sticky or gummy--but wonderfully nutty. The pork belly had a nice heat to it and wasn't too sweet. The veggies were fresh and colorful. The portions were generous and the bowl was huge....so filling! The service was great. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. I wish there was a location in LA, but definitely will head back if I'm ever in Long Beach again! read more

A gem of a fast food business located inside of The Hangar in Long Beach, Marinate Korean BBQ is a place you should pass up. Their food is delicious and the service is fast, Fast, FAST without it being fast food! You choose whether you want your protein as a salad, bowl, or as a burrito, then pick your protein, beef bulgogi, grilled pork belly, spicy pork belly, chicken, or salmon. You have a choice of brown or white rice if you choose the bowl. Then there are the sides of vegetable toppings including Kim chee. They have various sauces too! I added more protein by topping my bowl with a fried egg! Marinate is in an old refurbished airplane hangar with tables available both inside and outside. Be sure to check out this place! read more

I am usually not a fan of non traditional burritos but this bulgogi burrito was amazing. The meat was marinated perfectly and it was also very filling. My favorite was also the hot sauce, extremely hot and fiery you cannot finish it all by pairs perfectly. Service was quick and right away, chipotle style picking what you want. Ambiance was standard for the exchange, loud and crowded but good setting. read more

Had been wanting to try this place for months, and finally did. I tried the burrito, but with spicy pork belly, it was so good. And then another time tried the bulgogi bowl and added spicy pork, great flavor, hot for some reason I prefer the burrito. Definitely a great fusion spot, and I love they cook the meat to order so it's nice and fresh. Employees are nice and quick with service. It's in the hangar at LBX so there's lots of other style food going on as well. read more

Thoughts: This place is located in a stall inside the LBX hanger, so it's easy to get tempted to go somewhere else. But make no mistake, the food here is very good. Their bulgogi burrito is very good, I can't describe the flavors that revolve around the bulgogi taste, but it's working. Portion size is good and this is very much a solid lunch option. The one thing I don't love is the price. $16 for a great lunch option is a bit too steep for my liking. Service: They take your order, you pay, and the food comes out in about 5-10 minutes. Very straightforward. Ambiance: LBX is a good spot. A place for friends and family. Tables and seats will be a difficult to come by though. read more

I was pretty disappointed with my experience. I ordered a burrito, and while the food itself was just okay, the service left a lot to be desired. What really surprised me was that they wouldn't provide a to-go box. For a restaurant serving burritos and other sizable meals, it seems like a basic courtesy to offer customers a container for leftovers. Having to figure out what to do with the remaining food was frustrating and inconvenient. The burrito was decent, but nothing memorable, and the lack of customer-friendly service made the experience even less enjoyable. Unfortunately, I don't see myself rushing back. If customer service and convenience matter to you, this is something to keep in mind. read more

I ordered the brisket and at least 3/4 of the "brisket" was a large chunk of fat. No meat whatsoever. The right side of the full meal is the fat, left is the meat. Mind you, a lot of the meat on the left was fat. I know that's what gives the meat flavor, but you shouldn't be serving that to customers. Unfortunately Uber Eats won't refund part of the order so I'm stuck with a .25 pounds of fat, not actual meat.

The most frustrating part is that even after that conversation, no one ever came to our table. We ended up leaving without receiving any service. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but there is no excuse for completely ignoring guests or treating them disrespectfully. I hope management addresses both the customer service and the staff's attitude so that other guests don't have the same experience.

What makes this even more disappointing is the amount of money we spent, and as you can see from our receipt, we tipped very well. Unfortunately, between the long wait, missing food, and the quality of what we did receive, I honestly don't feel the experience was worth the money. We were also visiting from out of town and specifically chose this place, so it was disappointing to spend such a large part of our visit waiting for food we ultimately didn't receive. I really feel that some type of refund or compensation should have been offered, especially for the items we paid for but never received. I do want to be fair and mention that they gave us complimentary water and banana pudding, which we appreciated. However, it didn't make up for waiting over an hour and not receiving our complete order. Would I come back? Maybe, but only once things are more organized and structured. But quite honestly, I just left the food which is so sad. Left over pasta is always so good but I really could not continue eating this as I truly did not enjoy the taste. I left hungry and sadly disappointed.

I've been to Marinate about 5 times now and I could seriously say it is one of the best healthy rice bowls choices out there. I'm usually on a diet all the time trying to eat healthy but you that's challenging since most "healthy" or diet dishes are bland or have no flavor. I frequently go for the light tofu bowl with miso or "samjang" dressing and days that I feel meaty I go for the sweet and savory bulgogi bowl. Mind you these bowls are huge and could easily be eaten for two meals or for two people, I usually give the rest to my boyfriend.
