Stopped by for lunch out in Long Beach with the Oakland Ballers. Ended up picking Marinate Korean BBQ and decided on the Bulgogi Burrito. This was an instant hit. Full of flavor, spicy pork with kimchi, jalapeños and fresh added ingredients. The sauce had a great kick to it. Very impressed from a fast food joint. Service was very quick and friendly. In an open fast food market style location with plenty of options. Vibe is full of different folks looking for some great food to eat.

This burrito was large and in charge! So many flavors. ... It's super filling high in protein and delicious!! At first I thought $20 for a burrito. And that's a little steep, but now that i've had it, I think it's worth it.Because you could easily turn one burrito into two meals.

A gem of a fast food business located inside of The Hangar in Long Beach, Marinate Korean BBQ is a place you should pass up. Their food is delicious and the service is fast, Fast, FAST without it being fast food! You choose whether you want your protein as a salad, bowl, or as a burrito, then pick your protein, beef bulgogi, grilled pork belly, spicy pork belly, chicken, or salmon. You have a choice of brown or white rice if you choose the bowl. Then there are the sides of vegetable toppings including Kim chee. They have various sauces too! I added more protein by topping my bowl with a fried egg! Marinate is in an old refurbished airplane hangar with tables available both inside and outside. Be sure to check out this place! read more

I was pretty disappointed with my experience. I ordered a burrito, and while the food itself was just okay, the service left a lot to be desired. What really surprised me was that they wouldn't provide a to-go box. For a restaurant serving burritos and other sizable meals, it seems like a basic courtesy to offer customers a container for leftovers. Having to figure out what to do with the remaining food was frustrating and inconvenient. The burrito was decent, but nothing memorable, and the lack of customer-friendly service made the experience even less enjoyable. Unfortunately, I don't see myself rushing back. If customer service and convenience matter to you, this is something to keep in mind. read more

I am usually not a fan of non traditional burritos but this bulgogi burrito was amazing. The meat was marinated perfectly and it was also very filling. My favorite was also the hot sauce, extremely hot and fiery you cannot finish it all by pairs perfectly. Service was quick and right away, chipotle style picking what you want. Had been wanting to try this place for months, and finally did. I tried the burrito, but with spicy pork belly, it was so good. And then another time tried the bulgogi bowl and added spicy pork, great flavor, hot for some reason I prefer the burrito. Definitely a great fusion spot, and I love they cook the meat to order so it's nice and fresh. Employees are nice and quick with service. It's in the hangar at LBX so there's lots of other style food going on as well. read more

Thoughts: This place is located in a stall inside the LBX hanger, so it's easy to get tempted to go somewhere else. But make no mistake, the food here is very good. Their bulgogi burrito is very good, I can't describe the flavors that revolve around the bulgogi taste, but it's working. Portion size is good and this is very much a solid lunch option. The one thing I don't love is the price. $16 for a great lunch option is a bit too steep for my liking. Service: They take your order, you pay, and the food comes out in about 5-10 minutes. Very straightforward. Ambiance: LBX is a good spot. A place for friends and family. Tables and seats will be a difficult to come by though. read more

I hope management addresses both the customer service and the staff's attitude so that other guests don't have the same experience.

The rice tasted like Filipino garlic rice, which was a nice touch. Overall, really good. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and didn't need extra sauce, which I always look for in good BBQ. Portion was solid for around $15-$16+. Customer service was great, everyone was friendly and welcoming. It's a bit of a hole-in-the-wall in a plaza, but there's plenty of parking. Inside is dim but clean, and the wooden seating fits the BBQ vibe. I'd definitely come back.

Anyway I took most of the meat out because it was very dry and very very smoky. The dressing and greens were good. The brisket was All smoke no flavor, no juicy, no wanting to eat the full sandwich. I also ordered sweet potato fries and they were good but the portion was very small for the price. There was no one in there but one other guy taking photos with a ring light and making it look better than it tasted. All smoke and mirrors if you ask me. The service was good but then again, no one else was there. They could have given us more than one napkin though.

I've been to Marinate about 5 times now and I could seriously say it is one of the best healthy rice bowls choices out there. I'm usually on a diet all the time trying to eat healthy but you that's challenging since most "healthy" or diet dishes are bland or have no flavor. I frequently go for the light tofu bowl with miso or "samjang" dressing and days that I feel meaty I go for the sweet and savory bulgogi bowl. Mind you these bowls are huge and could easily be eaten for two meals or for two people, I usually give the rest to my boyfriend. Love this place as I love Korea BBQ places. It would take some time to build your own bowl since they are cooking and preparing it as you order. Love to see the fresh ingredients and they do post some interesting info about Bulgogi, in which I ordered and Ssamjjang, Korean dipping sauce for Non-Korean. The main idea of this location is building your bowl with marinated meats, vegetables, and their House special sauces. I do enjoy habanero sauce and it will get ya some kicks but enjoyable. It's just "meh." The ponzu sauce was way too powerful and everything just tasted like lime. The rice was mushy and the chicken was dry. It wasn't anything special.
