    Salmon Caviar, work of art!
    Annette R.

Amazing elevated hand roll bar! This HANSIK style restaurant combines traditional Japanese hand rolls with Korean top notch ingredients and flavors in the most unique creative way. They have just been recognized once again with a Michelin star for a reason. In the most sophisticated way in front of you they parade pieces that look like a work of art but in reality it will be one of the most delicious bites you will taste in your life. I couldn't choose a favorite because one after the other they kept impressing me with the combination of flavors. I must say the mushroom bite really surprised me! A tray of banchan and seafood closes the meal to end on a high note. Friendly and attentive service throughout the whole experience. We truly had an exceptional dinner, definitely worth the visit!

Loved the experience! We were seated at the bar right in front of the head chef, and seeing all the action was very cool. The egg and caviar appetizer, the salmon, mushroom, and scallop handrolls, and the ice cream desserts were all particularly delicious!! The matcha cocktail was also very light and smooth and yummy! Would recommend!

An amazing experience. The first course (egg and caviar) was sneaky my favorite, was truly blown away. Each handroll was meticulously thought out. Razor clam was awesome. The service was impressive. Worth the splurge.

A little shop that does a Korean-inspired fusion with Japanese tasting menu, focused on seafood and almost mini-hand rolls of fish an other tasty bites. A lot of the descriptions I could barely hear (the music/background was a little noisy), and anything spicy had a kick, but overall an interesting experience watching them prep in front of you and tasting some pretty unusual combinations. I'm not 100% sure I would be satisfied at the end, but they had a couple of desserts to top off what was a very filling night. Very much a mix of flavors (sweet, spicy, bitter, sour, and salty) across most of the dishes and a mix of textures. The harder seaweed roll (half taco-like) wasn't as good as just the regular seaweed wrap, and they had a wonderful towel that expanded from hot water added (though it cooled throughout the hand roll section, it was still good to wipe the fingers with). The BanBan tea was close to an Arnold Palmer - a lot of lemonade+tea with a hint of the persimmon. I didn't enjoy it as too much lemon for me. $27 Toro + caviar an add-on, but worth it! $145 for tasting, and drinks extra.

Wow what an amazing meal! I have tried the sister casual restaurant Mari.NE a few times in the past, and was very excited to try the main restaurant which started it all. The handrolls were sooooo tasty, which amazing blends of texture and taste. I actually loved the mushroom handroll, which had seven mushrooms prepared six different ways, wow! Service was also great, the experience was kept to a prompt pace which was appreciated!

Walked in just at the right time, w/o a reservation we got soooo lucky. Their 14 course tasting menu was insanely good, worth every dollar! Every dish excellent and unique. I was so full by the end of the meal, I barely could eat the dessert. But had to, as was delicious! Service also was perfect, love the open kitchen luxurious vibe. I cant wait to come here again, its a guarantee amazing dinner. Oh and the drinks top shelve. My favorite restaurant so-far for 2026.

Still my all time favorite Korean spot in the city. Probably been here 10 times in the last year. So surprised by the negative reviews about wait times? I've never had to wait between courses or to be seated. The service is actually always impeccable all the times we've been there. (Maybe more like buyers remorse for those who fabricated wait times) The staff are always super friendly and accommodating. Always clean, well lit with a fabulous playlist on deck. I'm not really a drinker, their mocktails are out of this world. They have the best team and Chefs. Also love how their menu changes frequently, while favorites stay on the menu. Mari is and will always be my happy place

Amazing little Korean restaurant located right in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, NYC... This place has a single Michelin star and is very unique. Essentially Korean hand rolls served in a lively environment with friendly service. The cocktails and sake here is a must, enjoy!

The omakaze is about 10 dish course, and taste and portions are decent. My best were salmon Mari and mushroom Mari. Other dishes are decent, but there is a tendency of putting too much spice or sauce. For example, spicy tuna Mari was too much spicy due to double spicy marination on tuna and potato crumble. Pho noodle is quite under expectations. I would say 4.5 overall given the expectation to a Michelin restaurant, but will round to 5.

Where do I even begin? From the moment I stepped through the front door to the moment I walked out .....this was a top-tier experience in every way. The service was flawless .....from the seamless utensil changes to the thoughtful, knowledgeable descriptions of each course. Every dish was handled with care, precision, and pride. Even the water service and the genuine warmth in the room added to the magic. And the food? Absolutely DELICIOUS. FLAVORFUL. EXQUISITE. Every bite felt like a journey .... a masterclass in flavor pairing, texture, and presentation. Every course was both thoughtful and engaging, crafted with intention and creativity. The space itself was understated elegance....stylish, welcoming, and never overwhelming. If you're looking for excellence in service, atmosphere, and a truly elevated dining experience ....this place is IT. TOP TIER ALL THE WAY.

Came here for my birthday and it did not disappoint! The service explained each dish beautifully and it presented nicely. The flavor was there and it was a surreal dining experience. It did run around 3 hours however, so feel free to get a drink or two! Cheers!

So glad I walked 20 blocks for this...delish! The atmosphere is cozy at the counter. There's interaction and what I thought was GREAT service with a custom tempo. Food and wine pairings were good. It makes sense to do the pairings. The pours are decent and some of them hit. It's a mix of Japanese omakase and Korean food. The Korean spicy influences hit home. The food and entire experience is FUN! Seriously it's a lively atmosphere, modestly priced tasting menu with a Michelin star. Go. Really, you'll love it.

Highlights of the meal: egg and caviar, zabuton mari, salmon caviar mari, and mochi donuts. Overall, Mari was mediocre. Some of the dishes worked well with the unique fusion of flavors but most of them did not. The Dover sole was our least favorite dish. The flavors just didn't work together. And the banchan that came with it were disappointing. Staff were friendly and attentive. it had a cute interior. It was quiet and easy to talk.

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!

With uncertainty, my friend got the spicy pork and I ordered the machete for lunch. I enjoyed the fried cod and chicken appetizers more. My friend was sad she didn't get the bibimbap instead. When asked what her thoughts are midway through the meal, she responded, "It isn't bad, but it isn't great." I understood her completely. One last thing, the ice cream dessert needs an upgrade with the presentation. When the plate was presented to us, I couldn't help myself and chuckled. I asked my buddy if she too thought that the dried strawberries looked like cat food. She laughed, knowing exactly what I meant. By golly, it's like eating kibble! We got the large beef combination platter which comes with ribeye, thin skirt, brisket, marinated kalbi, and marinated chuck flap. Most people stuck with water, while a couple got ginger ale. I ordered the soju flight but I ended up not liking it so my cousins shared it. The meal comes with different veggies as well as your choice of soup. We got the spicy tofu and split it 6 ways. The spice lived up to its name, so I didn't eat very much. The best part was meat. Despite there being 6 of us, there was plenty to go around. I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.
