We really enjoyed our dinner at 28 Nomad. The chef has a lot of creative ideas, and the dishes had interesting combinations without feeling overly heavy. The Pink Light was one of my favorites--layered, with a subtle ume-plum-wine finish, but not too strong. The Razor Clam was fresh and sweet with a tender texture, and the purple sauce on top added a nice flavor. The Stuffed Chicken Wings were filled with rice and other ingredients; the chicken was tender and surprisingly light for a stuffed wing.
The Scallop Wellington had a crispy pastry shell with mushrooms and a tender scallop inside, giving it a nice contrast of textures. The Wagyu & Rice was rich and savory, with lots of toppings including apple pieces, mushrooms, and large ikura that added a nice pop of flavor. The Udon Noodle had a little kick from the chili oil, balanced by a creamy sauce that wasn't overly sweet. We added uni as well, which brought extra freshness and sweetness. For dessert, the Bingsu Tteok came with ice cream, soft mochi, and refreshing shaved ice, with a subtle boozy note that balanced the sweetness nicely.
The restaurant has polished atmosphere with beautiful plating and attentive service. It's a nice spot to sit and enjoy a meal slowly with friends, and would also work well for a date night. read more
