It's an understated and casual place with a delicious tasting menu. For $70 you get four courses and can choose add ons. We went as a group of four and the staff suggested we get one of each option so we could share family style and try everything. We added on the fried chicken wings! The cocktails are also good. My favorite dish was the squash, octopus, the chicken and to be honest probably everything!

Atoboy was a 5/5 dining experience. I loved the prix fixe items and the opportunity to try a variety of menu options. My favorites were the octopus, buratta, and the chicken! The staff was beyond amazing, predicting our next moves and staying on top of our meal. We had a group of 5 and I felt like we could hold a solid conversation. Try the desserts!!!

Had high expectations for this modern Korean spot that comes highly reviewed. The meal was fine but overall for the food and price point I probably wouldn't go back. Service was efficient, staff friendly. Restaurant is nicely designed. Not too loud or packed. We had the prix fixe, stand out dishes are starred: SEA URCHIN*** egg jjim, gim, quinoa WAGYU YUKHE gochujang, korean pear, egg yolk (Would've preferred the Wagyu cut finer) FLUKE**** oiji cucumber, jellyfish, omija SQUID**** sesame seed, chili, cilantro OCTOPUS** romesco, iberco lomo, kimchi potato chip WAGYU RIB +/ chunjang, yukon potato, romaine (Heavy sauce, baby lettuces) PORK galbi, sunchoke (A little on the dry side) FRIED CHICKEN****!!! spicy peanut sauce, yangyummy sauce (delicious!!) Banchan was sorta disappointing (2 dishes, and some seaweed rice) and served late into the meal (I'm used to the usual 5-6 dishes hitting the table immediately) And there was no Kimchi served. Drinks are OK. Soju cocktails. No hard liquor but a nice wine selection.

Came here for a pre fixe menu and it was solid! The food came out fast and the environment was very intimate. Here's everything we got: - Naegroni (4/5): I don't typically like negronis but this one was very light and felt refreshing - Sea urchin (3.5/5): good but the egg custard was a bit meh for me. it was cold and did not taste the most fresh - Burrata (4/5): super delicious and creamy. But did not taste different from other great burratas I have had - fried chicken (5/5): star of the show and a must order. Probably some of the the crispiest chicken I ever had, and it tasted really good with the burrata and the sauces provided! - Squash (5/5) also a standout - did not know squash could taste this good. it was lightly coated in batter, moist on the inside, and bursting with flavor - Salmon (3/5): not a huge fan. almost tasted like smoked salmon and was also too salty for my preference - dessert (4/5): such a strange combination (granita, ice cream, cheese, candied walnuts) that surprisingly worked? The only part I did not like was the granita because it was cinnamon and a bit overpowering - tasted like fireball They also served us some banchan and the seaweed rice. Banchan was nothing to write home about but seaweed rice was delicious!!

One of the more affordable set menus in the city. Decided to check out Atoboy to see how it was. They have a 4 course set and you get to choose a dish from each category and add some dishes like the fried chicken. Overall, I'd say it was alright. I wasn't wowed with any particular dish but they were all either good or okay. The chicken was very moist and flavorful. Everything was cooked well. Aside from the Korean influence, I could taste some minor Chinese and Japanese influences as well. The set itself was pretty filling especially with the big basket of fried chicken. The vibe was very casual and chill. Service was good. Overall, good but not great. Probably wouldn't come back since there's loads of other places I'd rather go back to or try out. Nonetheless a good option if you want a decently priced set menu in a casual setting. Probably more of a 3.8 vs 4 but rounding up.

A Masterclass in Modern Korean Dining - Simply Impressive! My dinner at Atoboy was impressive. This place is a must-visit for anyone looking for a creative and perfectly executed dining experience in NYC. Parking/Location: Forget about driving--this is New York! Do yourself a favor and just walk or take a cab. Save your energy for the meal instead of hunting for a spot. The Food: Every single ingredient felt incredibly fresh and the dishes were genuinely surprising in the best way possible. The Starters: We started with the Crudo and the Scallop, which were absolute highlights. They were bright, delicate and did a perfect job of waking up my palate for the rest of the meal. The Main: The momentum carried all the way through to the main course. The flavors were balanced and sophisticated. The Dessert: Even the final sweet bite at the end was flawless. My only regret.... I was enjoying the meal so much that I totally forgot to snap a photo of the Chicken. It looked (and tasted) amazing so you'll just have to take my word for it and order it yourself!

Came here for my birthday dinner tonight and wow! Standouts / favorites: - Galbi (5/5): OMG tender - practically slid off the bone. Legit highlight of the meal. - Wagyu rib (5/5): insanely tender + flavorful, and the veggies were actually incredible. Loved the little horseradish kick on the lettuce wrap. - Wagyu yukhwe add-on (5/5): super refreshing - wagyu tartare + pear + crunchy crumbles was such a good combo. Worth the extra. - Rice (5/5): I don't even like rice like that anymore, but the perilla oil infusion was sooo good. Good, but not mind-blowing: - Sea urchin (4/5): small snack-sized portion, but tasty, kinda like furikake on steamed egg (briny + cozy). - Sweet shrimp (4/5): a lil zesty, and I really liked the crisps on top. - Squid (3.5/5): interesting - stuffed with shrimp (unexpected). Tasty, just not my top dish. - Fluke (3/5): super clean + light, with a nice wood ear "snap," but it didn't wow me. Dessert: - Birthday dessert (5/5): dark chocolate + salted caramel - rich and soooo yummy. Overall great service and great atmosphere!

I am begging you, pleading, eyes bloodshot with conviction, not to sleep on Atoboy. If you care even a little about food, you owe it to yourself to eat here. This is the kind of meal that makes you angry it doesn't already have a Michelin star, because it tastes like one in every possible way. Every course is precise, intentional, and confident. The flavors are layered and refined without ever feeling precious, delivering a level of thoughtfulness you usually only find at far higher price points. The service strikes that rare balance of attentive and effortless, and the room itself feels intimate and composed, nothing flashy, just exactly right. Atoboy may not carry the star, but make no mistake: this is Michelin-level dining without the ego or the cost. A true must-try, and a place I'll be back. Please, for the love of god, try it.

Hand Hospitality does it again. Atoboy was such a great experience. Every dish tasted incredibly delicious and felt carefully thought out. Nothing was there just for show, and every flavor had a purpose. The pacing and portions were well balanced too, which I appreciate in a prix fixe. Given the surge of Korean fine dining spots in NYC (and the price tags that usually come with them), Atoboy is actually fairly affordable for what you get. It still feels elevated and intentional without tipping into overly fancy or inaccessible.

very much enjoyed my dinner here. was able to get easy res online for a weekday at 630 and was seated promptly when i arrived. service was very knowledgeable of the dishes and very attentive. the food was v good, enjoyed the fried chicken a lot. i was worried based on some people not being wowed, but the crispy coating was light and delicious, the chicken moist, and the peanut dipping sauce was delicious. enjoyed the banchan that came with it too. the squash was good, but i felt like maybe it was missing something, but i can't say what. salmon was cooked perfectly medium rare, and i devoured it. also really liked the seaweed rice that came with the mains. not much decor inside, kind of industrial. the table was nice as big for 3 of us, but i saw they had up to 6 on the same table and i bet that's crowded. it can get a little loud in there.

Exceeded expectations, worth the hype. Sea urchin is my fave dish, there is sauce right underneath the sea urchin that adds such good flavor and makes the whole dish pop! My second fave dish is squid coming as close second, and then the fluke and fried chicken and pork, but honestly everything was so good, and so flavorful, except for the mackerel that was a bit lackluster( bland). Overall- Highly recommend this place and it's one of my fave restaurants

    Andrea S.

The food was delicious! It's a prix fix meal and some of the highlights include the sweet shrimp and the pork! We liked that they had a variety of dishes and the service was great! I'd recommend this place if you are looking for unique small tapas Korean food.

The exterior of the restaurant hints at secrecy and elegance. Inside it's a lot more hustle and bustle, narrow restaurant. The servers are nice and sincere, though some seemed pretty new. They were very accommodating about my dairy allergy, and even though a few dishes were off limits due to the restriction I still felt very happy with the selection. There is currently a $75 prix fixe menu with 4 courses included. We chose to pair our prix fixe with a lovely bottle of Riesling. We thought the first course was outstanding, the yellowtail was an absolute star. The fried chicken was good and airy but honestly a bit sparse for the $28 surcharge. Though the peanut sauce that it comes with really made a huge difference. The Riesling paired well with some of the dishes that had some spicy heat to them. We did feel that the kimchi-based dishes were disappointing- the kimchi felt toned-down, maybe not enough gochujang. The genmaicha(?) seasoned rice was PHENOMENAL and don't forget to add a bit of the peanut sauce from the fried chicken to it if possible. Yummy combination. It was super fun to come as a group and be able to order the entire menu and try different things. Loved that it's a family-style sharing situation. The restaurant gets super loud later on in the evening, so don't expect a quiet atmosphere.

It's not your typical lychee martini. It has Aperol and pineapple, which gives it a great flavor. My only note is that I wish it were a bit stronger. For appetizers we had the yellowtail, which is a must get. It was delicious. We also had the lobster spring rolls, another great dish, and the crispy wontons, which were good but not my favorite compared to everything else. For our entrée we got the beef tenderloin, another must get. It was amazing, super tender, and melts in your mouth. We had it with the fried rice, which was solid. For dessert we had the ice cream sandwich, which was different in the best way and extremely delicious. It wasn't too sweet and the cone "buns" were perfection. Overall, this place is gorgeous and the food matches. I would definitely return. The service was also great, the perfect balance of letting you do your own thing and truly enjoy your evening while still checking in. It is pricey. We each paid $184 including tip, but it's definitely worth it for a special occasion or to spoil yourself a bit.

Best way to describe this is luxe Asian or bougie Chinese. If you are fan of top Chef it would be called soigné. We had three of the hot apps, Foie gras, lobster shumai with caviar and morel mushroom with spinach crystal dumplings. After that we're deciding between the quail and beef tenderloin wok dishes. Since the quail was spicy went with tenderloin which came with small serving of rice. All the food was great. I felt the crystal dumpling needed a kicked and they brought Out there house soy and hot vinegar sauce. For drinks I tried there mix of a classic martini with an old fashioned and after discussions with there somm who nicely recommended a more affordable bottle that would meet our needs got the Chardonnay by glass as a bottle. Enjoyed the meal though likely spent 5 times what usually spend on Chinese place mainly due to cost of alcohol. Place is well designed with a look similar to Butter downtown with the arched ceiling mixed with with the sound dampening feature of similar design of bar Boulod. Will return to try the quail and the lobster spring rolls and if they keep to this standard will increase rating to 5.
