the food here is okay, i was honestly pretty unimpressed. we got the croquetas, crudo and patatas bravas. you only get 2 croquets and i was hoping for a unique twist on the normal jamon croquets but unfortunately this was pretty dry bland and didn't really have any meat inside. it was just a mediocre croquette that was insanely overpriced. the patatas bravas had no spice nor garlic flavor. the texture was hot and crunchy though. the crudo was solid, the tangerines on it were a nice touch and the fish tasted fresh but overall nothing special. the basque cheesecake was wayyy too dense but the jam it came with made up for the pretty average flavor. drinks here were strong but that's always a win, the duck fat old fashioned though was a huge miss. the duck fat didn't add much too it, i was hoping for maybe a savory flavor but it tasted like an old fashioned without any orange zest at the end of the day. my partner got the pandan cocktail and that was fantastic though, super flavorful and tasty but still had a good punch. service was great, attentive and kind. never felt trapped or ignored. overall though the food is just overpriced and mediocre, as an asian person who's lived in spain i was really excited for the concept of this fusion but execution was a miss. read more

Seafood-forward Korean inspired tapas bar with some really yummy eats. I really liked the cod dish the most, which had a really interesting foamy garnish that was a nice clean texture on the skin to pair with the light, soemwhat savory and pickled flavor of the rest of the dish. The fish was really tender and was one to remember. The frog legs were also so deliciously tender and meaty, and fell off the bone. Definitely get them. The scallion pancakes are skippable, a bit basic and expensive for what you get. The ceviche was tasty as well, though the city has a ton of amazing ceviche. Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood and hope they stick around for a while. They're doing something creative and worthwhile. Discovered Nudibranch through the Red Book and honestly thought it was a bit mid. The portions were very small, though I assume that's intentional since most dishes are designed to be tapas style. Mushrooms - 4/5 Enjoyed the cheesy mushroom flavor. Simple but satisfying Chicken Sandwich - 4.25/5 Probably the standout dish. The chicken was big, juicy, and very tender. Highly recommend. Hamachi - 3.75/5 Liked the tangy sauce pairing with the clementine Uni Soba - 2.75/5 The uni tasted quite fishy and the soba itself was fairly bland, though the flakes added a nice bit of texture Sea Bream - 3/5 A bit disappointing for an entree portion. I did appreciate that it was perfectly deboned, but the grilled top with added dill and pumpkin purée didn't pair that well IMO Frog Legs - 2.75/5 Not usually something I order, but we saw a lot of tables getting it so we gave it a try. Last-minute bar walk-in. Enjoyed a white Negroni while waiting for duck croquetas. They were crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside, just like they should be. The scallion pancake could have been a touch thicker, but the flavor was right. Next came the pork chop, which was prepared on the bone sous vide. It was tasty and really enjoyed the crispy and fatty bits on the bone. I don't think it needed chili oil and the sweetness and slight char from the caramelization could use a bit of acid or perhaps the bok choy could've had acid on it . Last came the green apple sorbet. Came for dinner with a friend on a Friday night. We were able to grab a reservation and were seated promptly. The intertior design is chic and zen, perfect for a small group hang or date night. The service was great and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I got a pandan cocktail which was refreshing, slightly fruity and quite smooth. My friend got a glass of bical which was paired well with our dishes. We got 3 drink snacks, a small plate and a big plate to share. All the dishes were amazing! The frog legs and duck croquettes were a must. I've never tried frog legs before and it tasted like a combination of chicken and white fish. The uni soba was also refreshing and filling. If I could, I'd give 4.5 stars, and the only reason I'm holding back is because this place was great but we ordered a limited amount. The interior is cute and comfortable and all the servers were attentive and knowledgable. We had a reservation and had no issues being seated immediately. We started with the hamachi which was 10/10 delicious. Light and refreshing and a great start to the meal. I'll admit the chicken sandwich was bigger than we anticipated and could absolutely be a meal on its own. We split it, pretending it might be too large to finish but it was too good not to. I will say the pork chop was the star of the show. This was so good that I watched my husband gnaw at the remains, not wanting to leave anything behind. The kimchi was nothing to phone home about but good, and the scallion pancake was absolutely a notch above the rest. We didn't plan on getting dessert, but the masala chai tres leches looked too good to pass up and we left nothing behind. It was rich, cinnamon-y, and super satisfying in texture. First things first, amazing service. We were seated quickly and the waiter was super attentive with introducing the menu. He made a thoughtful recommendation for a cocktail and was super nice about switching it out for me since I wasn't a fan. The best drink of the night was the Pandan Punch. Perfectly sweet and strong, and super fresh and fragrant flavor. The Heat of Passion was nice and sweet too. The Velvet Tuxedo was the one I switched out, but to be fair, I am more of a sweet, fruity drink. We opted for the price-fixe for two, which was $72. Pretty decently sized portions, but some dishes were definitely better than others. All three snacks were great. I particularly loooved the Duck Confit Croquettes, crispy exterior and indulgent filling. The sauce it was paired with was also delicious. Beef Tartare and Soba Noodles were good as well, but nothing mindblowing. I personally wouldn't order either of these again. The most disappointing part of the meal was the Hanger Steak-- the sauce was a bit salty and the steak was soooo tough. It was honestly hard to even cut through. In hindsight, we should've ordered the Pork Ribs instead. Walking in I was surprised how cozy the space is. The bookshelf and potted plants made me feel like I was having supper at a close friend's house rather than a restaurant. Every time I looked up, I either saw myself looking back at me or the crew whipping up drinks at the bar. I enjoyed the ambience and after enjoying the appetizers and soba - I was really looking forward to the main courses. The steak was undercooked for my preference and the panna cotta was not it. The addition of olive oil to it was very weird. It was made up for it a bit by the funfetti cake, but the disappoint sandwiched in the middle left an off taste in my mouth (both figuratively and literally). Came here with a party of 4 on a Monday. Was able to make a reservation online a few hours before. They have an eclectic menu with Spanish, Korean and French influences. We got the prefixed menu and everything was delicious! We got to pick a some dishes from each section. The highlights were the duck confit croquettes, hamachi, gnocchi, and asparagus and pea salad. Both entrees (cod and hanger steak) were great, can't go wrong with either! And the caulilini was our favorite side. Don't sleep on the desserts! The omija strawberry meringue was amazing. The service was great, we walked in with no reservation on a Friday night and was told we had a 30 min wait but was immediately called back for a table. We decided to try the prix fixe menu. The patatas and the duck croquettes were DELICIOUS. The frog legs were an experience, they really do taste like chicken. Would not order again. The steak tartare and the mushrooms were my favorite dishes of the night. We went for the bouillabaisse and whole whiting as our main dish. The decor in this space is really friendly, like walking into a familiar home. It feels like a casual dinner party more than a restaurant, and I really enjoyed that. We got the set for 2, and everything was really good. The frog legs reminded me of tasty chicken wings, and the soba was excellent with the ikura. The uni on the soba, though, wasn't quite as sweet as I was hoping, but it still was good. The cod curry was really well cooked. We got this with the seaweed rice, and wow did it blow my mind. The fish was soft, the sauce was creamy, and it all went down so easily. Lastly, gotta try that cheesecake. This was the best cheesecake I've had so far in NYC (and maybe anywhere). Omg I think I HAVE to come back. I was able to walk-in for their Sunday sold out prefixe they were having for a few Sundays at exactly 12pm. I was so happy to be so lucky! It was nice to enjoy the restaurant before it got more loud and crowded around 12:30pm. The decor is very unique and the restaurant was brightly lit and airy. The naengmyun was so good - the noodles were perfectly portioned and the slushy broth was so refreshing!! I loved it. It was a hot summer day. I'll start by saying that the staff was wonderful, very patient and accommodating, but unfortunately the quality/portions of the food did not seem to be reflective of the high prices. I opted for the pre-fix menu with my friend and we were quite excited for it. However, we left a bit disappointed and still hungry. At $60 per person, I had been expecting our own plates or at least enough portions for each person. However, these dishes are shared and they were not filling. It seemed like it was meant more for one person. The price of it didn't really seem reasonable in my opinion and for that reason I don't think I would return. Flavor wise, I thought it was clever and unique as I'd never had a Korean-Spanish blend. I enjoyed the uni soba and iberico pork the most. I hope that this restaurant would reconsider portion sizes. My wife and I had the frog legs, the hamachi, the celery salad, the hanger steak au poivre, the chocolate mousse, and the omija strawberry dessert. The hamachi was fishy. I think they could get better fish. Thr frog legs were tasty. Frog legs just taste like chicken to me. The breading is tasty with a bit of lemon grass flavors. It's just fine. Maybe the best frog legs I've had but I wouldn't go there for the frog legs. The celery salad was good - creative, fresh and tasty. I wish it had a bit more herbs. The hanger steak was absolutely delicious with the celeriac mash. I think this dish was inspired by Jeff Kim's time at Jungsik. Very flavorful. Both desserts were amazing. Simple, small but oh so tasty. Very memorable. Overall, I think it's a good place. It's supposed to be Korean/Spanish inspired. Ok we did not opt for the patatas bravas. However, I don't think any of the dishes really remind me of either Spanish or Korean food. I was at this unique spot recently with a group of 7 others. It's hard to describe the food here, but if I had to pinpoint it down, I'd say Spanish tapas (outside of the one large plate) with pan-Asian influences. The proteins were cooked perfectly in every dish, but we had to order extra to be full, with some dishes being worth it and others a bit less so. The staff was friendly with some good recommendations, though they were a bit slow occasionally. The ambiance is casual, and the place was crowded eventually with every table taken, but the noise was comfortable. To drink, I had the Yuzu Penicillin for $18 with Rittenhouse rye, Ardbeg 10, and ginger for $18. It was a tasty cocktail with a slight bite from the rye and a nice smoky/peaty element from the Irish whiskey and some freshness from the ginger. Another person got a Happy Hour cocktail, which they said was essentially a passion fruit flavored margarita, someone liked their pandan cocktail, and someone else had the HH white wine. The first dish that arrived was one of the small plates, the Mushroom 3 Ways with poached egg and sourdough breadcrumbs for $25. This was excellent with good umami from the mushrooms, while the breadcrumbs added some texture and the egg added a tad bit of richness. I've heard good things about this dish, and it didn't disappoint. As we wanted to sop up the sauce and have it with other dishes, we added the Bread with nori butter, which is $6 per serving and comes with 5 pieces. The bread was a good warm sourdough with the nori butter being a fun novel touch with some pleasant light fishy salinity from the nori. We also got some Nori Rice for $7, which was fine, but in hindsight it wasn't necessary as the duck was on top of similar rice. I ordered the (Patatas) Bravas with Sichuan spices and aioli for $10, as I could tell we'd likely be hungry by the end. The potatoes had a good texture, but it lacked the spice I'd associate with Szechuan food. It either needs some peppercorns on it or cooked into the bravas; otherwise, it's just a tiny portion of a classic Spanish tapas. Otherwise, we got all the main dishes, and all were excellent, with it hard to choose between them for our favorites, though I would say more people liked the pork collar more, though my preference was the cod, with all of us liking the duck. Said Iberico Pork Collar had sweet and sour cabbage, sweet peppers, and pork jus and was $42. The pork, like the other proteins, was cooked beautifully, being extremely tender with almost a skirt steak consistency. It had a bit of spice to it, and while I'm not the biggest fan of bell peppers, they worked here. The little side of cabbage wasn't much, but it was fine. The Cod with corn pil pil, pickled cherry bomb, and herbs for $39 was very tasty. I presume the fish was sous vide or a combination of that and something else, as it was extremely tender but still flavorful. The sauce was the best part, with garlic and spice and a light seafood note. This was excellent, and I would order this as a main along with a tapas or dessert as a meal. The last of the main courses was their biggest dish, the only plate to share among more than 2, which is the 14 Day Dry Aged Duck with blueberry hoisin, house pickles, and scallion pancakes for $145. It takes around 45 minutes, and they present the duck first, cooked with some herbs on the side, and then bring it back sliced into around 50 pieces or so on top of their nori rice. The best part of the duck was the spice on the outside. I'm not sure what was in there outside of it being a mix (I tasted some five-spice among others), but it was tasty and unique. The duck was cooked perfectly, and the pancakes on the side were a fun spin while the hoisin had a good sweet and sour mix. It's a very expensive duck, but it's worth it. The only dessert we got was the Masala Chai Tres Leches Cake with a rum caramel whipped cream for $15, which we split into quarters. This was a fun spin with the cake having a nice cardamom flavor. The rest of the spices used in Masala Chai were a bit less pronounced, but it worked, and the slightly sweet whipped cream worked as the cake itself was less sweet than normal. The food here was tasty as all dishes had good flavors and spices, and the proteins were cooked perfectly. Note: I only went for a drink during happy hour so can't comment on the food. With that said, what a lovely little spontaneous treat! I saw a sign outside advertising $10 cocktails before 7 and this place has been on my list so I figured I'd give it a try. I ordered the Kingston Negroni which was a fun little riff on the classic. It was batched but clearly made in house. Bartender was super friendly and kind, and another member of the staff stopped by to check in on me as well. They were super attentive, granted it was very quiet being close to the holidays. The place is beautiful and the food menu is extremely interesting, I would definitely come back again when I'm hungry. One thing I will note is that the prices on the happy hour menu for food are commensurate with the regular menu - for example a croquette is $5 for one but on the regular menu it's $11 for 2 so you're not getting much of a deal. Either way the cocktails are a steal. One very minor thing is that the water was a bit lukewarm, a little ice would go a long way! The branzino was cooked nicely, but I am not sure it went with the korean sweet potato puree underneath. The chinese broccoli was good, it just tasted of lemon and garlic, but the cucumber kimchi was not my favorite, I prefer traditional kimchi with cabbage. The service here was stellar, they changed out dishes and utensils between each course and ensured our water glasses were full. They knew the menu well and were able to advise on how many dishes to get. The ambiance itself is nice, though if I am being picky, the chairs are a bit uncomfortable. Went to Nudibranch on a Friday with two friends. The restaurant is cute and great for a date spot. Let's get into the food: Ahí de gallina croquettes: 10/10 - absolutely divine, we ordered a second round Alpaca tartare 10/10 - SO unique and absolutely delicious, highly recommend Oxtail 8/10 - I'm picky with oxtail because of my Caribbean background, but this was pretty solid. Portion sizes were small for the price point, but I can look past that if the flavors are amazing (see croquettes and tartare). The worst aspect of Nudibranch had to be the service. After getting seated, we didn't get our drinks for at least half an hour. Waitress came around with complimentary tequila shots, which was nice. But we still waited for time after that for drinks. It's around 4.2 Been on my list for a while. Booked it right away once I found out they're on restaurant week. Instead of the traditional app, main & sweet courses, Nudi actually had a mid course instead of dessert; which I liked it so much better this way. It gave us an option to do sweets in a moderate level lol. The cold soba and celery salad were refreshing that made a nice transition to the entrees. Although there were very little Korean elements in all the courses, food was pretty tasty and interesting. The crispy chicken sandwich was sooo good. All you need to know is: get the mushrooms and duck. We had: country ham, tteok, honey - basically crispy mochi covered with ham and a hint of honey. Fine but I would skip to leave room for the duck. mushroom 3 ways, poached egg, sourdough breadcrumbs - So good. The mushrooms are so umami and I love poached egg, which just makes it even better. I don't know if my boyfriend has enjoyed a vegetable dish this much before. 14 day dry aged duck, blueberry hoisin, house pickles, scallion pancake - This is basically a twist on Peking duck, and man does this twist work. The dry aged duck is so good - the spice rub on top has just a bit of that Szechuan spice flavor without any of the spice and the duck fat is just so delicious. A bite of the crust + fat + tender duck meat is delicious. And then you add in wrapping it in a scallion pancake with blueberry hoisin + scallion salad and it's just incredible. You also get a whole duck so while pricy, it feeds a lot of people. With just the 2 of us, we were too full to even touch the rice below the duck - I imagine this would be better for a group of 4 people to share. read more

My group of 4 had a reservation for 7:15 and got seated promptly even when our full party wasn't here yet. We ordered two alcoholic drinks and 2 non alcoholic drinks. For the alcoholic we got the duck fat old fashioned and pandan punch. Drinks were ok, we preferred the pandan punch more. For food we ordered the following: -duck confit croquettes, tapenade dip: good croquettes but the star is the dip -country ham, tteok, honey: great mix of texture of flavors with a mild crisp of the tteok and a mix of sweet and salty -hiramasa aguachile, radish, citrus: tasted good but didn't really stand out -beef tartare, smoked soy, potato crisp, Asian pear: potato crisp and pear balanced out the saltiness of the soy -mushroom 3 ways, poached egg, sourdough breadcrumbs: I love mushrooms and this dish didn't disappoint -uni soba, shiro dash, garlic panko, bottarga: exactly as described but didn't really stand out to me as anything special -braised oxtail tagine, Galbi jus, chickpeas, mojo verde: good but too salty -side of beets, labneh and chili crisp: this side was very good with the mixture of crunch from chili crisp, sourness from the labneh, and sweetness of the beets -dessert: coconut semifreddo, cranberry compote, black pepper crumble: black pepper crumble was a surprising but good pairing -dessert: masala chai tres leche cake, rum caramel, whipped cream: good cake, premade so cannot have the rum/whipped cream on the side but it's not too alcoholic for those allergic to alcohol All in all, it was a good dinner; however the plates were a little small for the price. Overall pleasant but dishes are on the smaller side for the price. Frog Leg, Stuffed Squid, Strip Loin, Alpaca Tartare - pretty good but I don't think I'd crave for it again. Nori Rice was simple good add little touch. The only dish I hope we didn't order was the Soba Bottarga - the soba was salty and dry, it's kinda a waste of how bottarga is used. Outstanding meal tonight in a cool, quaint, comfortable spot. We did the tasting menu and everything was outstanding. Gnocchi of which I'm not the biggest fan of was outstanding and bursting with flavor. Steak and fish were perfect as were all the starters. Drinks were also on point. read more
