    Branzino

Came in to spoil myself with a lovely meal and this place didn't disappoint! I sat at the bar and the staff were friendly and attentive even though they were busy at dinner time. It was late so many things weren't available (which is a great sign to me because I know everything is fresh). I ordered the uni tostada, mussels, and crab congee as my starters. The uni was buttery, the congee was comforting and filling, and I can drink the curry sauce for the mussels for the rest of my life! For my entree, I ordered the branzino and it was absolutely delicious-each flavor shined through and the fish was cooked to perfection. I wish they had desert but it was still an amazing meal. I enjoyed my experience here so much and would love to try out their menu next season.

Bone Marrow Fried Rice-rice cooked in wagyu fat, rib eye, and garlic. $29. Before they torched. Good/a bit rich (needed some acidity)

Short review- Go here during Happy Hour as the tapas are discounted and better than the mains but the food overall is good. I was at the Filipino/Spanish restaurant a while back with a small group. The staff was friendly and the inside wasn't super loud and the inside is well designed. We were here during happy hour (which I will now abbreviate as HH) and even if you're not into drinks, I would still recommend going during said HH as you can easily make a meal out of their discounted tapas which are a bit better than the entrees. For a drink, i had a 87 High Ball with Iichiko shochu, lemon juice, and tonic which was $10 for HH (normally $16.) The drink which was mostly flavored by said barley shochu would be a bit pricey outside of HH but was decently priced within being closer or cheaper than most highballs at various izakayas and was fine. For tapas, I ordered two. The Callos for $10 (normally $14) with beef tripe, chorizo, and garbanzos was a nicely flavored and hearty stew. The tripe inside was quite soft without any off-putting texture or flavor from the offal while the bits of chorizo in there were bouncy with a light spiciness to them though not as much as I thought there would be. Finally, the beans were cooked down till mostly soft and the dish had a pleasant tomato base. I liked this a lot. The Boquerones for $9 (normally $12) with white anchovies, ikura, orange and garlic olive oil (along with a large piece of bread) was also tasty. The five anchovies were good with the orange adding a unique sweetness along with the little pops from the salmon eggs. I liked it overall as well though they should probably not put all the ikura on one anchovy and instead split it among said 5 pieces. Others got two other tapas along with some people ordering one of the tapas I had ordered. Someone enjoyed the Pusit/Squid for $12 (instead of $17) which appeared to have a charred tinge for texture/flavor and someone else got some roasted Pimientos De Padron for $7 (instead of $10.) My main dish was the Bone Marrow Steak Fried Rice for $29 listed as rice cooked in wagyu fat, rib eye, garlic, and bone marrow. This has a small tableside presentation where they came over with a blowtorch to light the bone marrow which was a fun touch which is then scraped onto the fried rice. The rice had a light garlicy flavor and was more rich from said bone marrow. The rib eye was sliced into thick chunks which were mostly properly cooked though the largest pieces were a tad chewy. The dish was overall good though very rich and as the restaurant is part Filipino, I wish it came with atchara or spicy vinegar or something. I tried a bit of the Short Rib Mechado for $28 with short rib, red wine stew, thyme, and mashed potato which was decent though nothing spectacular and someone else liked the Paella Negra for $24 though they found some of the seafood a tad chewy. The food here was a nice spin on Filipino and Spanish food. The dishes had some light faults such as the main definitely needing some acidity or something but I overall enjoyed my meal here and I would go back.

Probably closer to a 4.5 for me - Great happy hour, and overall we really enjoyed our dinner here! We stumbled upon 87 Ludlow while in the area (we actually had other dinner plans originally but decided to pivot after looking at the menu). Unfortunately a lot of the items we were excited about were out of stock that day. We did enjoy the other bites we got (especially the bone marrow fried rice) but will have to come back to try the others we missed out on!

Some very interesting filipino and Spanish fusion dishes. The paella and the pork were my favorites. Skin was perfectly crispy.

Amazing food and experience. We've been on the hunt for a new Filipino place and I think we found it. I think everything we've had was amazing and we already want to go back! Service was great, they were very nice to talk to. We went at maybe a not so busy time but the place felt really nice and I think it's a great spot for a date or even a group of friends. Overall, I'd highly recommend!!

New spot serving Filipino and Spanish style tapas. It's fairly easy to make a resy right now! The inside is nicely decorated and there's a whole other section around the corner They're also serving happy hour from 5-7 Wednesday-Saturday with drink and tapas specials We got a few dishes to share between the 3 of us - Shrimp and chorizo: similar to gambas that comes on a super hot sizzling clay plate! Loved how piping hot it was. The chorizo reminded us of Chinese sausage flavor - Grilled octopus: rather small portion, but the chimichurri sauce really hit - Pork belly adobo kebab: Nice presentation with a huge skewer full of pork belly on top of a bed of rice. Some of the pieces were a little dry - Bone marrow steak fried rice: we were really excited to try this because they torch it table side for you, but the flavor just wasn't there.. the rice kinda just seemed like it was flavored with soy sauce and the meat was a little bit undercooked with the white stringy pieces hard to chew They do have a lot of items on the menu that I'm curious to try, but probably wouldn't reorder the above items

I've been prolonging this review since it's so highly rated and the only reason I bookmarked this place. Apps are 4-5 lil bites. Since we didn't care for the few dishes I chose to try, the few bites each were plenty. We ordered: Oyster sisig - 3 out of 5 - better than expected just like others said. Lil salty, creamy with the mayo and egg mixed together. Crunchy parts were nice but even so it's just okay. I wouldn't order it again. Pork sisig - 1 out of 5 - we're somewhat adventurous eaters. I've always wanted to try this dish but I usually order lechon, pata, bbq at Filipino restaurants. I've even had that weird ruffled thing; this was a first for us and we didn't care for it. Had a really strange flavor, also too sour. Since we never had it before, we didn't know if it was supposed to taste like that. We've had ant eggs, L has had cuy, etc. Pork snout, ears doesn't sound bad in comparison. Crab congee - 2 out of 5 - decent amount of crab in the lil bowl of congee but L didn't like the seasoning. We're used to Chinese style congee, simpler flavors, still so yummy.. . This was perhaps too busy for us and extremely salty to the point L didn't really want to finish it and it's just a tiny bowl. I tried a spoonful. Didn't care for it but we could easily demolish a regular congee 8x that size. Bone marrow steak fried rice - 4 out of 5 - best dish since everything else we tried wasn't that great but also nothing really special. The steak tastes similar to how I make it at home which is why I rarely ever order steak at a restaurant but I'm looking for restaurants to recommend for others to enjoy. Paella - 3 out of 5 - rice was good. Seafood.. eh.. the few pieces that were spread onto the dish wasn't that great compared to what I buy from the supermarket. L didn't like the quality of the shrimps and was just perplexed seeing such a tiny amount. Again the rice was flavorful, the seafood was a miss. Few pieces of Chinese sausage which I don't eat but L did and he expected something higher quality for a paella...scallop was good but it was just a sliver. Espresso martini - L didn't care for either. It's okay, had better. Sangria - nothing you can't make at home. I was actually planning to order more apps and entrees but L wasn't feeling it so we didn't go nuts which sometimes we tend to for just two of us. These weren't my top choices if I known I was going to order only 5 dishes I probably would've gone with more popular dishes. The ambience is nice for the area, service was good too. Our water glasses was refilled constantly.. it had to be since the water glasses they use held a few ounces max. It's cute but seriously I need more than 2 sips of water since the food is so salty/fatty. We felt so bad for the one guy who had to constantly refill water for everyone. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dinner. I'm pretty sure I just chose the wrong dishes. I will probably return and try the dishes I missed out on and will definitely update

They are located just off of Delaney St on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The cuisine come from Spain-Filipino inspiration. The staff is very friendly and I never seem to have an empty glass of water because they fill it so quickly. Walking in the entrance it seems deceiving thinking that this place is small. But as you walk through, you can tell that there are plenty of seats/tables. I would recommend smaller groups of parties to eat in as the seating is very intimate. I was taken away by the food. This was the first time I tried Isaw and it was amazing. The Uni Palabok was definitely interesting to see on the menu so we had to try it. It was very surprising how well uni and palabok came together. The pork belly was very juicy and flavorful. The adobo rice that came with it was very good as well. The Pulpo Romesco can seem like it's a small portion, but when cut up nicely it fed the 2 of us well. Of course, we also had to try the Oyster Sisig. Like everything else, it was very good. The only thing I miss when it comes to sisig was crispy-ness. But being Oyster, I can understand how there wasn't much crispy in the entree. Definitely would recommend this place. Very nice place to introduce your pallet into the finer side of Filipino Cuisine.

Since it's new and without a lot of press, there was no issue with making a resy at all even on a Friday night. The space was beautifully done with 2 sections. The bar section as you entered and the dining section when you make the turn right. It was nicely decorated. They had 3 cocktail options for about 14 dollars. I enjoyed the Yuzu cava. The glasses of wine were reasonably priced at 11-12 a glass. On our way out, there were people chilling and enjoying glasses of wine at the bar. For the three of us, we shared: 1) oyster sisig - great concept, smaller and wetter than expected and also lacking in flavor. We felt like it needed a dash of salt or even a nice sauce on top. Could even be as simple as an aioli sauce or even hoisin sauce to add some flavor. 2) shrimp, chorizo in oil - the sourdough bread was crispy and deliciously coated in butter. Personally, I could have used more garlic in the oil and a bit more salt on the shrimp. They should dine at the Claud and order theirs to see. 3) Octupus - not bad! Just my personal preference is for it to be charred. So the texture was a bit soft. 4) seafood paella - the rice was good! Simple tasting. 5) The short rib - probably the most flavorful dish of the night. You could tell the short rib was cooked for a perfect time in a good sauce over some creamy mashed potatoes 6) bone marrow steak fried rice - cool concept. I always love a good marrow! Like most of the dishes, it was good but there wasn't really a wow factor in terms of the spices/sauces used for the rice! Overall, a 3.5 for the food but given it is new and the place is spacious and nicely decorated, I'm bumping it to a 4.

If you're looking for a place that consistently delivers flavor, comfort, and great service, Good Food is an easy recommendation. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere--modern décor balanced with a cozy, neighborhood feel.

Wow...blown away by the Filipino/Spanish fusion! A friend mentioned this spot to my husband and said we had to try it. While I love traditional Filipino food, it's always awesome to see any kind of fusion. They have solid Happy Hour deals so we tried a few items from that menu as well as their regular one. They don't have a full liquor license yet but serve wine and cocktails with shochu or sake. Loved - Pork belly adobo ala plancha: Perfectly cooked with the right amount of flavor! - Oyster sisig: What a great twist on a classic dish! I typically don't eat sisig but I love oysters, so what a great combo for me to dive into sisig. Great portion size and crispiness. - Crab congee: I don't eat congee but I love crab! I'm not obsessed with this dish and feels like what everyone should be eating on a cold day. - Spicy margarita Liked - Boquerones: I love white anchovies and this was just OK for me. It wasn't bad but maybe I hyped it up too much in my head. - Pimientos de padron: I always order a shishito peppers dish and while good, it was as expected. - Chorizo shrimp al ajillo: The chorizo was too sweet for me and the garlic wasn't as strong as I'd like for a shrimp al ajillo. Moreeee garlic please! The bread was also too hard - kind of like croutons.

This was the restaurant of choice for one of the bday boys. I showed up a little early with two of the guys, so we started off with drinks at the bar. The bartender was sweet and attentive. We asked for drink recommendations and she made the yuzu cocktail. It was light and refreshing which is what I was in the mood for. (I believe they only have a beer and wine license.) Dinner was in kind of private area off in the corner. It was nice to have a little space of our own. The food was delish! I love sea urchin, so the uni palabok was up my alley. And the bone marrow steak friend rice? Rich, flavorful, and savory! We should have only ordered one of each main as we had a lot of leftovers for all those dishes. I think the server recommended two of each, but we should have just done one and ordered more if needed. Just a tip if you are in a big party and just want to try a bunch of things. Fun spot to have a birthday dinner!

It's about 3.8. This place's fairly new that I was able to walk in without a reservation. Food was like a fusion Filipino tapas, which was interesting. The sauce in the mussel was to die for! It was super flavorful that I wish there's more bread to soak up all the sauce. The oyster sisig was much better than expected. However, the steak and bone marrow didn't taste as good as it looked. Steak was overcooked and chewy in texture and fried rice was a bit heavy in soy sauce.

Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce you to The Devil's Backbone. A perfectly balanced drink I'll never forget, one that is sipped slowly and enjoyed thoroughly. It's sexy, it's smoky it's sipped. Attaboy gave the best mixology experience and we can't wait to be back. Pro tip: be sure to be as vocal as possible, even with ice, so you don't end up with a tiki drink if that's not your vibe.

We were ready to patiently wait for the next availability but were met with some attitude and unnecessary comments from him during the waiting experience. Regardless, we had a great time inside to make up for this. Highly recommend, but just be sure to make a reservation or be on alert and on time when getting off the waitlist.

Tucked into the Financial District, this spot blends old New York history with some of the best cocktails in the city--and it's easy to see why it's been named "World's Best Bar" more than once. The name itself has a wild backstory, inspired by a notorious 19th-century Irish-American gang from Five Points. It adds a layer of character to the place, but what really keeps people coming back is the atmosphere and the drinks. The space is split into two levels: a two lively, sawdust-floored Taprooms downstairs and a more refined Parlor upstairs if you're in the mood for a quieter, cocktail-focused experience. Drinks are the real highlight here. The Irish Coffee is widely considered one of the best in the world--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with whiskey, coffee, and fresh cream. They also get creative with variations like a frozen version and even an Irish Coffee martini. If you want something different, the "Act Naturally" is a standout, mixing Irish whiskey with Guinness and fig in a way that works. Food is just as impressive for a bar. The lobster deviled eggs (topped with caviar) are a must-try, and the menu leans into elevated comfort food. Overall, The Dead Rabbit nails the balance between historic charm and modern cocktail excellence. The D.R. is one of those places that is never boring and consistently delivers.

Mood lighting, comfortable seating, great drinks in a cozy and Victorian-inspired space are the perfect blend of unique and. I always felt like I was part of something special the few times enjoyed creative, delicious, and strong libations from the pros at the bar. While it has always been pricey, I do feel like the excellent service ambiance, and drink quality warrant this, but may prevent more folks from becoming regulars so to speak. I love the clever and compact bathroom design, too. IYKYK Long live Apotheke!

I could tell you to look for the blue beaker sign that says "Chemist" but the better tell is the random guy sitting on a stool outside. He'll be the only person on the street, so no worries about missing him! The menu has changed over the years, but the quality has not. The bartenders are social and personable. And the prices are in line for the area. My bestie and I loved the vibe. One of the best speakeasies she's had the pleasure of experiencing. Don't miss out on this place!

I wanted to treat an old friend to a quick birthday toast before a show she was attending nearby. Later that night, another friend became available to join but, because they do not actually have a phone that takes calls (only offers an announcement to go to Resy or email) adding another person was not at all easy. I would have had to cancel and rebook and wasn't sure I'd be able to (reservation was for a Saturday night) In most places, a table for 3 easily accommodates 4. But not here. When two of us arrived, they made it clear this was a big problem. I would have walked out right then but I would have been charged $90! We decided to stay and make the best of it, which was a challenge. For a speakeasy, the vibe was aggressive, not relaxing. Very loud music and not great acoustics.) Too cramped to be comfortable, proving that small does not necessarily mean cozy! We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.
