    Deviled eggs
    Ellen C.

Came here for a team dinner ($130 pp for large reservations) and it did not disappoint. The pre-fixe menu featured 4 courses: - deviled egg. crispy egg paired with mayo - really yummy - second: octopus or quail. Both crisp and seasoned well - third: lamb or pig out or snow crab noodles. Everything was executed perfectly - the lamb I was superr impressed by, probably the best lamb I've had - just so well prepared. Noodles were also perfectly el dente - dessert: Chinese beignets. Never had anything like this. Good portion too Overall this was a phenomenal meal and IMO very reasonable price for the quality of food and being in NYC

Great date-night atmosphere with the lamb chops and snow crab noodles.

Tuome was one of the best meals we had during our trip to New York. The restaurant has a dark, intimate atmosphere that works really well for a date night without feeling overly formal or stuffy. We started with a Negroni and a glass of red wine, then shared the octopus, quail, snow crab noodles, and lamb chops. Everything was excellent. The dishes were creative and beautifully presented, but more importantly, they tasted as good as they looked. The octopus and lamb chops were my favorites. The octopus was especially flavorful, and the lamb was cooked beautifully. The snow crab noodles were also rich and satisfying. The food, drinks, service, atmosphere, and overall experience all came together perfectly. This was one of those meals that felt memorable and worth planning into a New York trip. I would absolutely return and highly recommend Tuome for a date night or special dinner.

At first, Tuome was actually a bit of a pleasant surprise. They served a complimentary scallion oil pancake with cheese, shaped a bit like panipuri. The scallion flavor was strong, and surprisingly it worked well with the cheese and poppy seeds. It was probably the most interesting dish of the meal and raised our expectations for the restaurant at the beginning. But after that, it pretty much went downhill. For the appetizer, we ordered quail. The meat itself was fine, but the seasoning really didn't work. The smoked potatoes and the sauce were both very salty and slightly bitter. The sauce tasted a lot like hoisin sauce, but heavier and more greasy. We gave feedback and they did take the dish off, but what was quite ridiculous was that the server came over to explain that their sauce ratios are strictly made according to the recipe. Please... was she trying to teach us how to eat? Then we switched to their egg. To me, it felt like a supermarket deviled egg taken apart and reworked -- coated with a fried layer on the outside and then reassembled, with a bit of chili oil on top. Not bad, but really just very ordinary. It's not something you'd expect from a Michelin restaurant. For the main, we ordered the branzino. The fish itself was fine -- crispy skin and tender inside, no issues there. But the seafood cream underneath had the same problem: very salty. Overall, it felt like their seasoning leans heavy across the board, almost like they're trying to get you to order more drinks. The sausage sticky rice on the side was even more disappointing. It tasted like very standard Chinese-style sticky rice, honestly similar to what you'd get from a Chinese supermarket, and it was over-steamed -- the bottom layer was wet and falling apart. The most ridiculous dish was the pig out (for two). When we ordered it, the server specifically mentioned that the top part was specially prepared by the chef. What came out was just a plate of fried pork with two bowls of noodles. The pork was greasy and salty. It felt like they shredded lean meat, pressed it into blocks, and then deep-fried it, basically trapping all the oil inside. It managed to hit all the downsides of fried pork. By the end, it was overwhelmingly greasy. We thought the noodles might balance it out, but they were even heavier -- like a mix of peanut sauce and hoisin sauce, just doubling down on the richness. The portion is really more like for three; two people can't finish it. By the end, it was so heavy we were basically just drinking water to get through it. Overall, the whole meal felt like this: no real flavor, no real atmosphere, no real plating, no real creativity -- and not even a solid level of execution. It felt more like they recreated those "good-looking dishes" you see on Instagram, but only the surface, without any substance behind it. Honestly, I really don't understand why this place has a Michelin star. They even posted their press and mentioned that their roots are Asian -- but honestly, it feels like their roots are just hoisin sauce.

We came here with a group of 6 and highly recommend getting a reservation as this place was packed on a Friday night. We ordered: - octopus - quail - dumpling - creamy halibut - crab noodles - lamb - chicken - sweet potatoes - broccoli - fried beignets with ice cream(fried milk buns) - basque cheesecake topped with tropical fruits The portion sizes aren't meant for sharing so we ordered our own appetizers/entrees and just took bites of each other's food. The dishes were good and I love the fusion flavor profile. However, the highlights to me were the two desserts we ordered - basque cheesecake and fried beignets. You really can't sleep on these two items. The service was... strange? Our waitress had a weird attitude, not what I'd expect from a place with a Michelin Star. The food is good but I was a little surprised this place has a star. It doesn't really have the ambiance nor the friendly service that usually is presented at a Michelin star restaurant. Overall had fun trying all the dishes but probably won't come back again.

We had a good experience at Tuome. While we waited for our dishes, we enjoyed puffs complements from the chef. Snow crab pasta - wow, 10/10. The noodles were perfectly Al dente and I love how much crab was in our dish. High recommend! Pig for two - the pork is super crispy and juicy however the meat at the bottom was just a tad dry. The noodles were delicious and very savory. Again I love how the noodles were served el dente. And the salad was amazing and gave the dish freshness. I just wished it came with more salad to cut the richness and savoriness of the pot and noodles Dessert - very good. I love how the ice cream bowl came straight from the freezer and helped keep its cold crisp flavor. It's a make your own ice cream sandwich so you could make it how you want it. We had cut our bread in half and made 4 sandwich bites. It was very delicious The next next to us ordered the dim sum dish and it looked amazing. We'll be back next time to try that !

10/10 would recommend! I was in town for a quick work trip and decided to grab a reservation. This was also my first time solo dining at a nicer restaurant - s/o to the staff for making it so enjoyable! Ordered: egg, snow crab, and Chinese donut for dessert (plus the welcome dish) Highlights: all were delightful. The welcome dish was similar to pani puri but with scallion pancake and ricotta (more like an everythjng bagel) - super fun to eat. Egg - I've been craving deviled eggs and never had them fried! The flavors and execution was chefs kiss. Snow crab - surprised I was able to finish it but the flavor was rich, noodles were cooked to perfection (not too soft or hard). I wish I had bread or something to savor the sauce Chinese donut & ice cream - I asked my server to surprise me between the banana pudding and Chinese donuts. So glad she gave me the donut. It came with three little buns, a scoop of ice cream with a little red bean, honey citron spread, and a caramel sauce. Will def try this at home bc the citron as a spread was genius and so homey.

Great food and twist on some classic dishes. The amuse bouche scallion puffs was such a great twist on my favorite dish (scallion pancake)! Don't forget to try the dessert - the chinese beignets was a fun twist on the classic fried buns (with condensed milk) dessert.

An incredible dining experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious--every dish was beautifully presented, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor. You can truly appreciate the creativity, skill, and attention to detail that Chef Chen brings to each course. Every bite was memorable, and we enjoyed the meal immensely. Some of the dishes reminded me of the dishes I had at Eleven Madison. My favorite was the crab noodles and the scallop dumplings. A well-deserved reputation and a restaurant I would happily return to. Highly recommended!

A cozy Michelin spot offering some of their signatures in the $60 RW 3-course! - - - - - - - - - ~ Scallion pancake puff (complimentary) ~ Some of the most unique amuse-bouche! The puff is very airy and crispy, so delicious with the everything seasoning and cream cheese! ~ Deviled eggs ~ [Rating: 4.5 / 5] Soft-boiled, battered & fried golden, drizzled w/ crispy chili oil, so much better than the classic! ~ Chicken liver ~ [Rating: 5 / 5] Ultra-smooth mousse w/ maple drizzle to balance the rich, savory flavor of the liver! The toasted milk bread is crunchy yet fluffy, perfect pairing! ~ Snow crab noodles ~ [Rating: 5 / 5] OBSESSED! Miso butter is creamy yet light, letting the sweetness of the snow crab shine through. Noodles are really thick & chewy, I love it! ~ Chicken ~ [Rating: 4 / 5] Cooked 2 ways: fried chicken thigh is juicy & crunchy, breast is tender w/ crisp golden skin. Seasoning is minimal, simple yet delicious! The Chinese porridge is a tad bit too salty though... ~ Chocolate mousse ~ [Rating: 3.75 / 5] Mousse is airy & fluffy, but not very chocolatey. Some sponge + hazelnuts help, but halfway through it feels one-note... ~ Banana ~ [Rating: 3 / 5] Flavour is very bland, it's just a bowl of lightly sweetened cream and bananas, no tart/crunch, and the goat's milk caramel is non existent. Bit disappointed :( - - - - - - - - - Overall Rating: 4.5 Will I be back? Yes, I really enjoyed the appetisers and main courses! Want to try their crispy pork too!!

Tuome has been on my list for a few months and it definitely lived up to my expectations. Cuisine is Chinese inspired with interesting flavor combinations that aren't traditional, but taste amazing. For starters we went with the octopus, taro puff, and the scallop dumplings. The octopus was crispy and the whipped butter pairing was delicious. The taro puff is a bit more neutral flavor-wise, I'd probably skip it on my next visit. I loved the scallop dumplings. Such good flavor on the filling. Not sure if the foie gras added to the dish a ton but it was cooked well so I'll take it. For mains we did the halibut and the snow crab noodles. They're vague on the descriptions for these ( "Cambodian curry" is very open ended) but wow delicious. The halibut is a coconut curry and the snow crab noodles sauce is super rich and flavorful. We decided to get dessert since everything tasted amazing so far and the beignets were so cute. We made little ice cream sandwiches. Service was great and I love the lighting. Will be back for sure soon.

Updating my review to say as a recurrent diner here (i come here at least 2 times a year), the food, service and ambiance continues to be top tier! I was thrilled to see that they brought back the chicken liver mousse as an app for restaurant week because it's SOOO GOOD! They need to bring it back to the original menu! Had my usual "Egg" and of course, still delicious. The snow crab continues to be a dish that I'll want on my death bed. And the dessert???? Wow. Blew me away. The chocolate is mousse, honey comb, chocolate cake pieces and hazelnut and it was so light but delicious. If you're a chocolate lover, this is for you. The "banana" dessert, which was a "tart", goat's milk caramel and almond and honestly, it reminded me of a banana pudding or those banana marshmallow pies that you get as a kid. It was perfect with fresh banana slices in it. I couldn't finish it because i was so full from my apps and entrees. Again, i cannot tell you how much i love this restaurant and i want everyone to come and experience it!

Came here as a party of 2 in May of 2024. I love how dimly lit the restaurant was and it really enhanced my atmosphere at the bar. The Scallion Puffs are on the house and is definitely one of the best on the house starters that I ever had. The eggs and scallop appetizers were excellent teasers to our main dishes. Both were bite sized, packed a surprising amount of flavor, and left us wanting more. The mains are on the smaller size. I got the Lamb while my friend got the Snow Crab. Both were like enlarged appetizers. Each were extremely tasty but still left us wanting a bit more. The Beignets were a cute, pleasant finisher. Overall, the experience and dishes were spectacular. Big eaters will be asking for larger portions, but I will definitely come back for the special occasion.

Dishes were good but not great and ambience was very crowded. Expected a little more from a Michelin starred restaurant, especially given the price point. For example, the crispy pork dish was reminiscent of the classic HK crispy pork, except they changed out the usual cut of pork for a saucier version, which felt too heavy against the already oily and crisp skin. The lamb chops were good but also not too different from the lamb chops I can make at home (and less juicy too).

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. We shared a few other things, but be warned (in a good way) that the Moroccan Fried Chicken for Two serves WAY more than two! Service was attentive and we didn't feel rushed. Although it was a little pricey, I'd definitely go back.

The ambiance is vibrant and chic, the crowd is great, and the overall vibe is just unmatched. Highlights: The Food: Exceptional across the board. We ordered the brussels sprouts (which were out of this world and cooked to perfection), the branzino fish, and crafted drinks. The flavors are phenomenal. The Service: The staff went above and beyond. A special shout-out to the incredible waitstaff and the attentive water service person who constantly kept our glasses filled--such a thoughtful touch. Our waiter was also exceptionally kind and welcoming. The Ambiance: Gorgeous decor with a warm, upscale energy that makes for a fantastic night out. Tips for future diners: Reservations are a must: Make sure to book ahead, especially if you are eyeing the gorgeous booths (note that the booths are designed to comfortably seat groups of up to 8 people). Family-style dining: While we didn't order it this time, they do offer a leg of the lamb that feeds 8, making it a stellar option for larger gatherings. I'll definitely be returning with more friends. Highly recommended!
