We saw that this spot had a restaurant week menu for lunch so thought it'd be a great opportunity to try it out. We arrived a bit early and the gentleman in front was super friendly about it and brought us to our table. Our main waitress was also very friendly. There were a few points where I found myself waiting for things like water and food but all in all would say service is good. We order the three course menu for lunch. Among the three, I enjoyed the first course and the second one more so. I actually thought the dessert was the best. Cute spot in Rockefeller center. Worth a try especially even more so during restaurant week.

I came here for restaurant week lunch, and it was a good experience. Their restaurant week menu was very sincere with many great options. Appetizer and main course were great. Dessert was okay. It was a bit unusual for Asian restaurants to put so much cinnamon in desserts. Service was excellent. Overall a great experience.

I had dinner at NARO last Saturday and had a good meal overall. I had an earlier reservation at 6pm since I had a play at 8 later that evening, and they weren't very busy and could certainly have taken walk-ins. Since it was a solo meal, I took a seat at the bar. NARO is a Korean restaurant that highlights traditional Korean cuisine with seasonal ingredients. It's located in the heart of Rockefeller Center, so it was very convenient for dinner before a play at some of the theaters uptown of Times Square. I had their NARO soy-marinated salmon with kohlrabi noodles and cured salmon roe (one of their signature dishes), their pork dumplings (with napa cabbage, chives, and tofu), and chestnut sorbet for dessert. I really enjoyed the dumplings and the sorbet. The salmon course wasn't my favorite, and I'd probably start with a different raw dish in the future. Being a solo diner that evening, there was a lot on the menu I couldn't try, and their menu is large enough that I'd love to go back and try more from their menu next time (oysters with dongchimi mignonette, a wagyu and smoked trout roe rice bowl, a grilled lobster dish with sweet potato curry...). They also offer a five-course tasting menu for $110 (dinner only) and a 2- or 3-course lunch prix-fixe menu. They have a great beverage program. I had glass of wine (a skin contact from the Czech Republic) and an N/A cocktail. Both were great. I was also able to try a small taste of a cocktail the bartender had made for someone else when he had a little left in the shaker. So they have a great wine list and lots of cocktails, including N/A cocktails and cocktails made with soju. Beyond that, they have sake, draft beers and lots of sool options (sool is the Korean term of alcohol). Sitting at the bar was part of why I enjoyed my meal at NARO so much. The service was great - a friendly bartender and servers who brought food by. I will say that this was a very fast meal (maybe because they weren't very busy), and I sat and enjoyed my N/A cocktail because I had too much time before my play. It ended up being very relaxing, but it was a fast meal! Overall, it was a restaurant I'd be happy to try again.

At this price point, I should be throwing out 5 stars but I left more disappointed than anything. I went at dinner time yet there were only 2 other parties there. Pretty soon it was just my table. Really unfortunate spot and ambiance. Waitress was extremely patient and thorough though. My favorite order is the Lobster Curry. The creamy base creates an indulgent, comforting main meal. Everything else is kind of a miss. The potato pancake tastes undercooked/semi-raw. The beef tartare feels overly chewy. The braised rib is lacking depth and richness. The beef in the Naro bowl was tough as well. I'm a really big dessert person, and both dessert dishes are extremely poor. Not fresh whatsoever, certainly refrigerated and old. I couldn't even take a full bite of the cake after feeling how coarse the bread is.

Had a wonderful time at Naro restaurant for the three course restaurant week offering. We ordered a few extra items to try as I saw other reviews mention that portion sizes were a bit small. I actually found that to be not too bad, as we were all stuffed after the extra dishes. All of the items were shared, so I luckily got to try a good portion the Naro's menu. Every item had some level of merit, but my favorites were the soy marinated salmon, the tenderloin, and the fried egg plant. The salmon especially had a luscious texture along with a pleasing soy taste, and I could have eaten another bowl of it easily! Service was also great at the restaurant, although we were an early lunch table so they were not yet busy. The restaurant was quite packed as we were leaving.

Went for restaurant week 2026- i tried multiple different places for restaurant week but this place tops the list in terms of quality (usually quality goes down at other places during restaurant week), creative drinks, and pricing. recommend

Overall, a solid experience. I came here for a business lunch with a manager. The food was solid - it's a modern take on Korean/Asian cuisine. The service was fantastic and the ambiance is calm and good for conversations. The food was a solid 4/5, the crab was great, but my main entree, the beef patty (forget the name of the dish) wasn't as great as I hoped it would be.

We were excited to try this place during Restaurant Week, but we left feeling hungry and disappointed instead. The portions were extremely small, and this is coming from someone that is petite with a small appetite. I had this thought as we were finishing our entree, should I splurge for an extra dish or take my losses and grab a burger from 7th Street Burger on my way home? The cocktails were amazing though! Maybe this is a good spot to enjoy a cocktail or two, but I would recommend satisfying your hunger elsewhere - maybe at the Genesis House...

My boyfriend and I got a dinner reservation at Naro to celebrate my birthday. I was excited and this place delivered it. You can see the ice rink if you sit in the cocktail room. I was personally happy we booked in the main dining room because it was cozy. It is clean and the service was top notch even though it isn't a michelin star restaurant. They fix your napkins and escort you to the restroom. The restroom is in the cocktail room. We ordered Haechi highball, jeju blossom and prometheus' tipple, and it didn't disappoint. It was delicious! For food, we ordered the Naro soy marinated salmon and bluefin tuna as cold appetizers. I personally enjoyed the bluefin tuna more than the soy marinated salmon. We also ordered the Naro potato fritters as a hot appetizer, and this was amazing. It was a hash brown topped with a korean scallion salad, kimchee flavored. As main dishes we ordered the black cod and the naro bowl. My boyfriend loved the black cod, we both found it flavorful and the fish was perfectly cooked. I really enjoyed the naro bowl too but I wish it had more wagyu beef pieces. Last but not least we ordered bokbunja and red bean & butter. They brought a raisin tree berry ice cream with a candle lit since it was my birthday. It was a nice surprise! We both loved the bokbunja! The blackberry ice cream tasted really good with the whipped cream. The soy sauce chocolate cake cubes was a nice tasty surprise underneath the whipped cream. I will can't wait to come back for happy hour and try their fried chicken sandwich and beer along with other tasty dishes including desserts and cocktails.

I found out about NARO through Atomix (they sent me an email about this new sister restaurant). Tried this place twice and my dining experience was absolutely fantastic! I came here for both lunch and dinner (restaurant week) and below dishes I've tried: 1. Soy Marinated Salmon (5/5) - excellent appetizer dish! Loved the thin crunchy Kohlarbi noddles. 2. Beef Tartar (4/5) - it tasted good, but didn't think it was special or unique. 3. Grilled Lobster (5/5) - creamy, this was different from typical curry I would have at Thai, Japanese, or Indian restaurant. It was mild but flavorful. Not too strong or spicy. 4. Beef Tenderloin (6/5) - my favorite dish at NARO! this will be the dish that everyone will love. Meat was so soft and tender. The creamy white sauce that came with it was yummy. 5. Galbi Beef Patty Bowl (4/5) - if you want a dish with beef, I would rather go with tenderloin. Tasted good, but wouldn't say it was shocking. 6. Korean Twisted Donut (3/5) - I was expecting the donut to be more chewy like freshly baked bread, but found it a bit hard to eat. 7. Jasmine (5/5) - I don't typically like the dessert with floral scent but this had a perfect balance. Really liked how refreshing it tasted. If you want to try something slightly different, I recommend this for dessert. 8. Bokbunja (4/5) - delicious! It has chocolate inside, but I liked how it wasn't extremely sweet like a normal chocolate cake would. But if you're debating between this and Jasmine, I prefer Jasmine. Service was excellent, and ambiance is modern, their drinks were not only aesthetically pleasing but also tasted amazing. This restaurant has an open space where people pass by, but it is pretty quiet and still feels private.

This chic restaurant is inside Rockefeller Center, by the rink. When you make your reservation, make sure to specify where you want to sit. It was NYC Restaurant Week so we ordered from their $60 prix-fixe dinner menu on this particular evening. The stunning modern Korean food presentation matched the cool decor. It has an outer-space vibe. All the dishes were IG worthy. The portions are on the smaller side but each entree came with a bowl of mushroom rice. We came as a party of four so I got to try pretty much all the dishes. Here is what I chose: Appetizer - King Crab in a Pine Nut Dressing Entree - Black Cod with Hen-Of-The-Woods Mushrooms Dessert - Red Bean & Butter I could not get enough of the King Crab that came as some sort of cold soup. Absolutely divine. My sister and I loved the tender Black Cod, I thought it went well with the mushroom rice . My sister is not a fan of the mayo in the rice so she didn't quite enjoyed it as much. As for the desserts, I loved everyone else's except mine. The Red Bean and Butter didn't work for me. NARO, you need to rethink this one. Huge shoutout to Mateo!! He came by during each of the courses and asked how we enjoyed it, even our drinks. He had an upbeat attitude. When my BIL asked where the restroom was, Mateo actually walked with him to show him where it was. All the staff members we encountered were amazing as well. Thank you for making my 58th perfect, NARO!

Restaurant Week 2-Course Lunch Menu $30 - - - - - - - - - Soy marinated salmon (+$6) [Rating: 4 / 5] Fatty sashimi with refreshing kohlrabi noodles & bursts of roe, simple but satisfying. King crab (+$7) [Rating: 4 / 5] Loved the contrast of textures - soft crab, chewy jellyfish salad, crisp yellow peppers, and nutty pine dressing. Tasty but portion feels too small for the upcharge. Black Cod [Rating: 4.25 / 5] Perfectly buttery and tender, literally oozing juice when cut into! The Korean sweet-savory red sauce brings a deep umami punch Oyster mushroom rice bowl [Rating: 4 / 5] Generously loaded with mushrooms in sweet soy sauce, plus crispy sunchoke chips for crunch! Only downside, couldn't detect any truffle at all... Grilled corn popsicle $14 [Rating: 4.5 / 5] Def get this if you love corn!! The ice cream & jam are rich in corn flavor, the shortbread cookie (tho a little stale) adds a nice crunch. Jasmine $15 [Rating: 3.75 / 5] Bright, tangy yuja mousse with lemon confit and airy meringue, refreshing yet balanced! But the jasmine ice cream got completely lost under the stronger flavors. - - - - - - - - - Overall Rating: 3.75/5 Will I be back? Maybe. Tasty food but pricey for small portions, and they didn't really wowed me. I'd gladly return for the corn popsicle tho!!

Went to Naro on a Friday night and it was packed. It's right by the Rockefeller Plaza rink, a great spot for a night out. While described as Korean fusion, it felt more like American fine dining with Korean touches. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu ($60 for three courses). Highlights were the beef tartare from the starters, the tenderloin and black cod from the mains (all with mushroom rice), and the jasmine dessert with yuja mousse and jasmine ice cream. Overall, some solid standouts, a beautiful setting, and worth checking out if you're in Midtown.

Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. My friends and I got the Spicy Raw Marinated Crab, Kimchi Pancake, Galbi, and Spicy Grilled Pork Japchae. I LOVED the Kimchi Pancake! Probably the best one I have ever had. It was so crunchy, tasty, and filled with kimchi. I find that some places skimp out on the kimchi and add a lot of onions instead, but not here. The poached egg on top also served its purpose well and added a great flavor to the pancake. I really liked the Galbi too. It tasted like a high quality of meat and it was super tender. Bb.q Chicken's rose tteokbokki is better imo - Pork shank: 9/10, really tender and juicy meat that fell off the bone. Hella pricey tho (-1 point) - Kimchi fried rice w/ prime hanger steak: 6/10, just okay. Not a huge fan of the fried rice, the steak was good, medium rare - Espresso martini: 8/10, really strong lol

Tomorrow will be our last day in New York. We had plans to head up to the Empire State Building…read moreObservatory in the evening, so we stopped here for a quick simple dinner with just one hour to spare. We ordered marbled beef steak and naengmyeon, hoping for a speedy meal. Surprisingly, the beef, cold noodles and banchan all blew us away. The marbled beef was outstanding, and our server grilled it perfectly -- it melted in our mouth. Their mushroom sauce was absolutely fantastic. The broth for the buckwheat cold naengmyeon was authentic beef stock, rich and savory without overpowering the natural flavor of the ingredients. The banchan were also incredibly well-made; we finished nearly every side dish on the table. Service was quick and efficient too. It's such a shame we only discovered this restaurant on our final day, we wish we'd come here earlier. I'd highly recommend this spot. Overall rating: 4.5 to 5 out of 5 stars.

It's extremely crispy and very high quality. A large issue I had at this establishment was the service. The server felt unfriendly, and whenever we tried to flag him down, he wouldn't even look at us. It took around 20 minutes after our meal to get our check which was ridiculous. It was a shame because this was easily one of my favorite meals in NYC, but I don't know if I would return solely due to the service.

You get to choose three appetizers, two mains, and one dessert, so it's a great way to try a variety of dishes, especially if you're sharing. The service was friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant was pretty busy. We did have to wait about 20 minutes past our reservation before being seated, but everything went smoothly after that. The restaurant is beautiful inside- liked the interior design choices a lot! My favorite dishes were the asparagus japchae, lotus root gangjeong, and the Korean melon dessert. Overall really enjoyed the meal and would definitely come back to try the regular menu.

Solid Korean spot with a calm, dim interior. We made res for restaurant week as a group of 6, which…read moreallowed us to try a little of everything on their menu. What I got: - Asparagus Japchae: Very good - instead of traditional Japchae noodles, it's sliced asparagus and mushroom. The marinate was delish! - Shrimp Pancake: It was more like an omelette. Not so much of the actual pancake batter. - Spicy Fried Chicken: Nicely fried, standard. The spicy sauce is on the side, which allows us to adjust our bite. - Bossam: I enjoyed this! More Bossam pieces than lettuce, but overall taste of the meat was good. It didn't have the "bland pork" taste. - Pyongyang Cold Noodle: This was my first time having this dish. Seemed pretty traditional. The broth was on the lighter end for me. - Korean Melon: LOVEDD this dessert! A refreshing way to end the meal. The menu denotes cheese, but it wasn't even noticeable. It has a few toasted pine nuts mixed in, which were SOO good. Overall, a very filling meal and worth the $60 restaurant week value! Nothing absolutely blew me away, BUT the flavors were solid and the staff were great. Would come back for another deal!
