I've grown a little weary of the whole expensive small plates concept, but everything here was executed very well. The lobster rolls and scallops were excellent, and the restaurant is so cozy. Big fan and would definitely come back

Mokyo is not your average Korean spot. The food served here is elevated, I was taken away by how complex some of the dishes tasted. Especially the gochujang cauliflower; it felt like the taste kept evolving as you kept chewing. The corn dumplings were fragrant and interesting in both texture and taste. The lobster rolls were delightful albeit pretty small. I would say the yellowtail crudo could be skipped, unlike the other dishes this one was a little boring. Taste overall was fantastic. The sake sampling was also nice but the food portion sizes were really small, so it does come out to be a little pricy. Not an every day meal, but still worth a visit!

Had a fun time at Mokyo with their modern Korean tapas! They recommend about 2-3 dishes per person. -Corn dumpling: my absolutely favorite (and we ended up getting a second order). I love the prominent corn flavors but with a cheesy, gooey filling. I loved how the dumpling skin was intact and chewy. The truffle sauce with some tangy flavors helped cut the richness of the cheese. -Yellowtail crudo: really enjoyed how the black pepper on top and in the sauce complemented the raw fish slices, along with some sliced fruit and peppers. -Noodle: loved the al dente noodles and how most of the flavors were delivered by the chili oil (with minimal chili/sauce etc). The use of cashew over other nuts was quite interesting and I liked it! -Oxtail spring roll: solid filling of tender wagyu oxtail and crunchy on the outside, but nothing to write home about. -Asparagus ceviche: wanted to get some veggies for the table and liked the leche de tigre sauce, as well as the seaweed paper. Could skip next time. Tucked away in the East Village, this place actually is very vertical and has a lot more tables/space in the back and than expected. It was nice, cozy environment - perfect for meet ups and a good dining experience. Staff were attentive. Interested in returning to try the other dishes and their drinks!

Very cute interior and pretty delicious bites. Naturally I wish there was more of everything, but this is a tapas place! Fun drink options. The corn dumplings are a fun, flavorful surprise. Glad we got them. The wagyu spring rolls are very flavorful and fun to dip in every sauce as well. Kind workers and nice date ambiance.

Korean restueautn that has a rotating seasonal tapa menu. It was pretty crowded and made a reservation. The food was great. We got the Berkshire rib, pop rocks , and gumbo. Also, a few tapas which I don't remember off the top of my head. The gumbo was spicy and delicious. The ribs meat was very soft and melted in my mouth. It was dimly lit space with great service.

I've been waiting a while to come here, so when a last minute reservation popped up on a friday night, I snatched it right up. There's a lot of parallels between mokyo and its sister restaurant thursday kitchen from the vibe inside, the fusion elements of the menu and the pouch-style cocktails. everything is small plate to share, 2-3 items is a sweet spot per person. server was kind, almost a little shy, but he didn't rush us at all despite being there near closing time. the corn dumplings were my favorite bite of the night, really reminiscent of the edamame dumplings at thursday kitchen. the dumpling didn't have whole kernels of corn, instead it was a flavorful pureed filling with notes of parmesan that sat on top of a warm sauce. I enjoyed the crudo, saw the attempt of latin-asian fusion with the chipotle, but I did find myself craving a lighter ponzu or soy based-sauce instead. the scallops were another favorite bite, almost didn't order as I wasn't familiar with the listed ingredients but turns out vichyssoise is essentially upscale mashed potatoes, and they immersed the scallops with so much flavor. lastly, I've heard a lot hype about the lobster roll from a friend, but think it was my least favorite of the dishes I tried. It was fine, an interesting mix of cheese and lobster that didn't enthrall me. great bites with lots of interesting and creative flavor combinations. i'd come back to experience other items, but not compelled to repeat a majority of the dishes I tried. st. marks place is also packed with bars, so plenty of spots to continue the night after dinner!

The corn dumplings are pillowy and heavenly, we ordered a second serving as they only come with 4 pieces. Changed my perspective on what a dumpling should taste like! So creamy and dreamy yet dumpling like at the same time. We also ordered the lobster rolls which were pretty good and buttery. We ordered the noodles which are a must perfect spice level and chewiness. I enjoyed the oxtail spring rolls they had a great crunch and unique flavor to them and were super filling. Also got the sticky ribs which I thought were decent but not my favorite. Loved the little bites at mokyo they are such a fun variation on traditional asian food and creative! Would definitely return.

I've had korean tapas in several places, but this might be one of my favorites! The fusion here is more apparent in the dishes, and the environment is very chill. Here's what we ordered: - Oxtail spring roll - Sweet plantain - Tuna tataki (substituted for yellowish crudo) - Corn dumplings - Berkshire ribs - Noodle- basil, mala chili oil, and cashew The noodles and ribs were my favorite dishes. While the noodle dish is simple, they were cooked al dente and the sauce was loaded with flavor. This dish probably surprised me the most. The ribs were also really delicious and so tender! They have really unique dishes and definitely worth coming at least once even if it is a little more on the pricey side. Food also came out super quickly!

I found this place because I am going through a corn phase and wanted to try their corn dumplings. We has a reservation for two around 8:30 PM on Thursday. We were seated immediately after walking in and ordered. The vibes are underground, dimly lit. Everyone is dressed nicely. One note, the music is extremely loud, so you have to scream to speak to each other. Their menu is very small and curated. There are decent vegetarian options which they separate to the top of their menu. We ordered a couple of items: corn dumplings, cauliflower, scallop, noodle, and Injoelmi Mousse. Corn dumplings ($15) - These were delicious. The truffle flavor was so amazing and the sweet creamy corn on the inside paired perfectly. I would come back here just for this. This is a must try! Cauliflower ($17) - I would not recommend this dish. It just tastes like a sweeter and less crispy gobi manchurian (Indian cauliflower appetizer). The rasins also did not pair well with this, but the little dots of labneh were good. Scallops ($19) - This is also a must try. If you like seafood, then you will love this dish. The scallops are swimming in this creamy potato puree with so much flavor. Noodles ($17) - The noodles were a filler dish. Tasted like plain noodles. Not as bad as the cauliflower, but not great. If you are hungry, then order this to fill you up. Injoelmi Mousse ($13) - The description of this does not do it justice. This was actually so delicious with a chocolatly/hazelnut crumble and crunchy inside. I really enjoyed this dessert. I will be coming back whenever i'm in ny to get some corn dumplings!!

truly just came here for the drink in the bag and it was worth it. the food is different as they said something along the lines that the food is meant to be shared.

Food was great. My favorite was the noodles, cauliflower, and corn dumplings. But the rice cake with beef (usually lamb but changed for today) and fried rice were good too. The oxtail spring roll was good, but a little bland in my opinion. Note the soju was described as "pear and ginger" flavor, but we couldn't taste it all haha. Wish we'd gotten a cocktail or something. But the service was very good, and it's especially nice when the weather is nice and they open all the windows.

My friend and I dropped by for an early dinner on Saturday. The vibes were nice and cozy albeit tables are a bit small and positioned quite close to each other, which sometimes felt precarious to walk in between. So volume level was also a little on the louder side to catch up with friends, but not impossible. We ordered primarily dishes that our waiter recommended to us, including corn dumplings, cauliflower, lobster roll, wagyu oxtail spring rolls, and the berkshire rib. Wagyu oxtail spring rolls - We first got the spring rolls which were crisped to perfection. The oxtail inside was surprisingly like pulled/stringy (like think texture of pulled pork but more tender) with some barbecue-esque sauce inside. I enjoyed how crispy the wrap was, but was a little thrown off by the filling and wished it had other ingredients in it other than just the oxtail and the singular flavor of the sauce. Lobster roll - This was two nigiri-like pieces of lobster over two rolls of bread. I did really like the bread but found the lobster to be lacking in flavor - either that or the sauce was just overpowering of any other flavors. Corn dumplings - These weren't bad but just not my cup of tea. They reminded me more of like an italian dumpling (maybe like agnolotti or something of the like) where the filling is more mushy/creamy as opposed to Asian dumplings which are more structured/textured, so this is just against my personal preference. My friend enjoyed these a lot but if you're also more averse to similar textures I'd probably opt for something else. Cauliflower - The cauliflower is glazed in this gochujang sauce, so quite sweet and somewhat crisp. If you didn't tell me this was cauliflower, I don't think I'd be able to tell. These were somewhat addicting to eat, but my friend and I agreed that it was kinda like a fancy vegetarian version of orange chicken - nothing mind blowing or worth $17 for. Berkshire rib - I think these were probably the best bang for our buck at $18 and a reasonable portion size for a "small plate." For the most part, the meat was pretty tender and fall off the bone but a little dry in certain parts. Overall, the food seems to be very centered around sauce with essentially every dish we ordered being slathered in sauce one way or another. Sometimes this worked well, but other times, it overpowered all other flavors. I, personally, prefer when the natural tastes of ingredients are more preserved or wish that at least there was more of a balance in sauces. Additionally, many dishes seemed to share a common ingredient (perhaps in the sauce?), making some of the dishes start to taste similar. I don't think the food was BAD but it's just not food that I'd crave or want to have again. It was more of a fun dining experience rather than a place I'd consider a go-to.

Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.
