Chef Kevin and his team consistently present beautifully thought out dishes. The space is small, but intimate, and does not feel cramped or crowded. For the price point this is a must try. The textures and flavor profiles are amazing. The pasta is rich and decedent and the desserts are always whimsical and delicious

Food is good and delicious. It's a very small restaurant with simple decor. Service can be better.

This place has a Michelin star? .....Why? I guess they hand out stars for places that are good in theory. Or maybe they give them to places that used to be good. Whatever the case, it's obvious Red Paper Clip has potential, but that potential is about as realized as universal healthcare in the US. - Sichuan Carpaccio: Why was this accompanied with sweet jujube sauce? It could've been so good without it--fresh, paper-thin slices of beef chicharrón nicely marinated with a Szechuan peppercorn chili oil sauce. This could have been amazing. Instead, the constant infusion of sugary sweetness ruined every bite. Meat should never be sweet, IMO--and definitely not carpaccio in particular. - XLB Agnolotti: Tasty, creative and generously portioned. They should use this as the model for the rest of their menu. - Lobster Three Ways: More like three ways to waste lobster. The miso beurre blanc version was overcooked and the sauce was too salty. Except it was surpassed by the salt & pepper claws, which tasted like they'd just been dipped in a salt bath. And the sticky rice version had barely any lobster, accompanied by nasty, bland, sticky rice that tasted like someone with no taste buds trying to imitate Chinese sticky rice. We were so underwhelmed, we couldn't bring ourselves to waste more money on dessert. There's way, way better Chinese/Taiwanese fusion out there.

Incredible hospitality, beautiful plating and presentation, and very creative concepts. Some of the dishes just didn't quite hit come together for me. Our favorites were the fresh, perfectly balanced oysters on a cloud of vapor; the raddichio salad with a delicious dollop of sauce; and the pasta with freshly shaved truffle. The texture of the pasta was perfectly chewy and the generous portion of truffle made it incredibly savory and decadent. The other dishes each had some issue with their execution. The potatoes were cute, but the contrast between a warm potato bottom and the caviar on top didn't match. Something was missing both in texture and flavor. The same went for the everything brioche. It was a cool concept but in the end felt like a random rather than intentional compilation of textures. The lobster three ways was the biggest disappointment. The sticky rice lacked flavor. The sauce for the sliced lobster was wonderful, but all three lobsters felt a tad overcooked. The strawberries in the dessert were varied, with some being extra firm and white, which seemed unique but was quite honestly not very appetizing. A really enjoyable evening, nonetheless! It was our anniversary and the server gave us some lovely dessert drink at the end.

Came here for a private wedding party and this place absolutely crushed expectations. I would love to come back for a regular dining experience. Their h'ordeuvres were top notch as were the entrees. I must've eaten a pound of there little wagyu skewers they had. And the cocktails were fantastic. This is a great date spot for dinner. Service was impeccable.

Very cozy spot. Great service. Beautifully plated dishes. The food was good to very good but I don't think it's better than many nyc restaurants that don't have a Michelin star. Food: Amuse - oysters were delicious; the caviar on potato was good too Salmon on brioche - very, very good Squash and winter veggies - surprisingly good Cavatelli - delicious XLB Agnolotti - a bit on the salty side and didn't have much flavor otherwise Lobster three ways - liked the poached way the best so beautifully cooked and executed Squash dessert - good

I was super excited to try this restaurant when I heard that the menu is Taiwanese and Chinese inspired. This was quite an interesting experience and it was more of a 3.5/5 star experience for me. The place itself is quite small but still great for an intimate dinner in my opinion if you can get seated along the long seats on the left of when you enter. If I come back, I would try to ask for one of those corner seats. Flavors ranged from good to excellent and honestly, I did find them a bit pricey for the portion sizes. I opted for the tasting menu and usually each person would be getting their own plates per course but after the appetizers and first course, the rest of the dishes came on a shared plate. I would have preferred to have my own plate and perhaps bigger portions. My favorite dish of the menu was the "Everything Brioche" and I would come back for this one dish. The miso egg yolk paste mixture was so cream and delicious and honestly, I am itching to learn how to make it myself. The Miso Buerre Blanc Lobster from the 3 Ways Lobster course was delicious and cooked so tenderly. I could have easily eaten more of it. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the squash dish because I was expecting more seafood from the menu. However, the flavors and the accompany sauces were very delicious. The squash even had its skin on and it must've been cooked in a way for it to have become so soft but still flavorful. I thought this place was really creative in the menu and the presentation was also beautiful. My only gripe is how small the portions and the price was quite steep. I'd still be interested in returning but perhaps only to have the "Everything Brioche" dish.

Red Paper Clip is a pretty interesting Michelin-starred restaurant that focuses on creative, Asian-inspired small plates. The inside of the restaurant is fairly small and isn't overly fussy. Service is about what you'd expect out of a Michelin-starred restaurant: it was excellent. When you eat here you basically have the option for a la carte or a tasting menu. We opted for a la carte this go around and we found the food to range from good to excellent. The best thing we ate was definitely the "everything brioche," a creative take on a lox breakfast sandwich. The XLB agnolotti was a little more disappointing. It wasn't bad but I felt that combining soup dumplings with Italian agnolotti, with shaved truffle on top no less, should've been packed with more flavor. I think if you're in a pinch to try a some creative small plates you can't go wrong here, but I wouldn't say it's a can't miss spot.

Delicious dinner tasting menu for under $100! I really enjoyed the creativity for each of the food items while modernizing classic traditional tastes. I thought the miso salmon pie dish was really unique, and the three pasta dishes were both delicious and appealing to my asian pallete! I think the lobster was a bit too salty and the dessert with vinegar was a bit strange for me. All in all I would come back and try a la care or for some other new items if they were to change the menu. Ambiance- 5/5 Taste- 5/5 Service- 5/5

Stumbled upon this place after dinner and had a few drinks... such a cute spot and drinks were so yummy and cute. Ordered wine and a cocktail (College Drop Out) and everything was great. Cocktail came out in a ceramic red cup and ... I will be purchasing for my home bar, so cute. Marcus, the bartender, is so great! Will be coming back for food!

My thing about Asian fusion, as in when Asian food is fused with Italian, Mexican, American, or whatever, is that I'm always left feeling like I wish I'd just had one or the other cuisine. (This does not apply to pan-asian food.) But Red Paper Clip looked promising so I gave it a shot. Came for dinner and did the a la carte menu. My friend and I ordered: + Chinita colada + College dropout cocktail + Pineapple Express cocktail + Sichuan carpaccio + Maitake + Everything brioche + Cavatelli + XLB agnolotti + Hot chicken sandwich The drinks were great, with the colada being both my friend's and my favorite, and the standout dishes were the maitake and cavatelli. But some of the flavor combos didn't quite land, and the chicken could have been crispier. As I predicted, I'd prefer to go for either Sichuan or Italian food elsewhere.

My friends and I stumbled upon Red Paper Clip while waiting on a table for another bar around the area. The sign is super cute - It was literally just a neon red paper clip and nothing else. The restaurant had a bar so we sat there. I liked the ambiance, clean and cozy, and the bar display was well placed. I got the Pineapple Express (rum, pineapple, lime, and ginger beer) and it was pretty refreshing! My friends also really liked their drinks as well. I enjoyed my short time here and glad I got to check out this place.

TLDR: salty, lackluster meal with subpar service. Perhaps I went on a terrible off day, but I would not encourage anyone to go, at least based off of this first visit. Got the tasting menu with my partner on a weekend. We were pretty excited about it because our friends had gone the previous day and really hyped it up for us. Our favorites were both the pastas and the lobster three ways, especially the sticky rice. Everything we had was good but we were pretty underwhelmed. The cucumber starter and pastas we had were extremely salty i felt as though someone in the kitchen kept accidentally double salting everything. The everything brioche was really attractive but it really just tasted like an everything bagel with lox and cheese. I think maybe I'm missing something about it. Unfortunately there wasn't a single dish that would make me feel compelled to return. Additionally, we didn't enjoy the service. We felt like we were being rushed out. The server never introduced himself to us, which isn't really a bad thing, but he was pretty curt and rushed each time he interacted with us that it made us feel a little unwelcome. Not the best vibes. What really irked me was that an older, white couple that sat next to us 20 mins after we had sat and ordered started getting served before us midway through. I think initially it may have been a mistake, but they ended up leaving 25 minutes before us because that's how much longer it took for our food to come out. I think that's pretty unacceptable. Overall, food was okay, service was not good and I would rather recommend you someplace else. Perhaps I'll try it again and update later.

Ordered a Cadillac Margarita (Casamigos) for me + Vodka Martini (Grey Goose) for my partner + thick Fries + Slice of Chocolate Cake Drinks weren't anything special but the fries were hreat and cake hit the spot. Actually, I'm so glad we stumbled in because their cute and short food menu is PERFECTION for lovers of small bites -- crab dumplings, caviar deviled eggs, spicy tuna crispy rice, shrimp cocktail, oysters, sardines, etc... Things I dream of all in one sexy, cozy place that whisks you far away from the streets of Manhattan. Our chairs were comfy, and there were many seating areas that looked equally as inviting. The bar was gorgeous, lighting was super moody. The room was daaark and not very busy on a Friday around 8-8:30 P.M which we appreciated. While I can't comment on the wine list personally, I know they are well-known for their extensive selection. After placing our order, we were delivered the sesame pizza bianca, which is a complimentary starter bread with dinner. The bread was a nice size and light and airy with a perfect crust and a delicious, crusty sesame seed bottom. The prawns were our starter and came three to a dish. They were sizable, though since they are served with the head and tail, there isn't a ton of meat on them. That said, they were flavorful and juicy with a nice sauce and just the right amount of spice that didn't overwhelm the fish. The snowdance chicken was the star of the show! It was incredibly juicy and tender with perfectly prepared skin, so I was happy to learn they keep this on the menu year-round. It was topped with some spinach that was solid, though nothing special. We also ordered a side of mushrooms which came with a creamy sauce and fish roe intended to be mixed at the table. The roe wasn't fishy at all but added a great element of umami to the flavorful, well-textured mushrooms. Overall, the service was very professional, though I thought the pacing could have been improved as the dishes came out a bit slowly. I would also recommend ordering at least two dishes per person, as the three plates we shared between two people felt like just a touch too little food. I'm already looking forward to going back--I'd try the winter chicories salad or the veal sweetbreads next time, but I'm open to exploring everything since the quality is so high. I noticed a side dish listed on their online menu that wasn't actually offered in person, so it might be worth double-checking if you have your heart set on a specific item.

I made reservations after seeing their special hot chocolate on social media and had a wonderful meal! Started off with the hiramasa which was fresh and went deliciously well with the citrus-y and sweet cara cara orange, as well as the aji peppers! The castelfranco chickory salad was fresh, crunchy, slightly creamy and slightly tangy - basically everything you need in an appetizing salad! Their house sesame bread was fluffy and chewy with a good amount of sesame flavor without having too many seeds. For mains, the farfelle was very interesting and tasty! The pasta was al dente and the sauce was addicting! At first I was wondering if it would resemble a nut butter, but it was creamy with very prominent walnut flavors and interesting texture (perhaps from the blended walnut skin component?). The addition of burrata and other cheeses was perfect for a cheese-lover like me. The pork chop was flavorful, well-seasoned, and juicy. The leek and cabbage mixture soaked up all the sauce and I wish there was more! Their special hot chocolate with an espresso martini marshmallow was fire!!!! Hot chocolate was decadent, not too thick, and not too sweet. The toasted marshmallow melted quickly but definitely had coffee and alcohol flavors. The amount per serving doesn't appear a lot but appropriate considering how rich it is. The mascarpone dessert had a great balance of fluffy cream, extremely crispy phyllo, and crunchy nuts with a touch of chocolate and vanilla! For drinks, I was really curious about the bi lemongrass but they ran out. Staff recommended the semiplume, which felt like a beer, tea, and sparkling wine all at once! Loved the floral aroma and bitter tea notes. My partner's cocktails were also well executed. Staff were nice and friendly. We got seats right by the kitchen so staff often checked in with us, including the chef!! Vibes were intimate with the dim lighting and minimalist decor. Definitely want to come back to check out their chicken and other dishes!!

We came in on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet inside. After we were sat down upstairs, it took a long time for our waitress to come to take our order. All three had very strong flavors that were not balanced with the rest of the drink. After we finished our drinks, we waited an especially long time for the waitress to come back, check on us, and give us our bill.
