Not to be confused with a popular Japanese household goods chain of a similar name, Muje is the most recent incarnation of select Southeast Asian-highlighted cuisines in this space. I remember when it was SEA (I was invited to their soft opening)--it wasn't super impressive as SEA, and the cuisines highlighted were mostly just Thai, Vietnamese and a touch of Korean. Well, Muje has expanded that repertoire, and the Summer 2026 tasting menu features flavors and influences from those aforementioned cuisines, along with Chinese, Japanese (of course), and Singaporean. For $150, dinner included: - A complimentary glass of Omija to start--essentially, a cold amuse bouche with vinegar-ed watermelon. If you weren't awake before, the tartness here will do more than any espresso. - Shrimp Toast: An homage to the classic cha chaan teng favorite, this was crisp, juicy and flavorful in all the right ways--albeit about 10% the size of a regular shrimp toast. But then, you do get a dollop of caviar with your bite. - Yellowtail: A cold, refreshing Thai-style crudo featuring a delectable coconut sauce and fermented tomato. You might lick your bowl here. - Chicken: Unless you don't partake in animal, it would be hard to find fault with the crisp batter, prinkle seasoning, and flawlessly juicy meat that's presented to you at this course. Then there's the delicious stuffing of rice and spiced pork--an homage to Taiwanese-style fan tuan--and I vote this replaces the turkey legs at all renaissance fairs. - Noodle: Creamy and fragrant, with plenty of Korean perilla oil to satisfy your need for green. - Salmon: Thai flavors are straight up represented here, and spice lovers will revel in the "Asian spicy" level of capsaicin in the red curry. Throw in a perfectly seared strip of salmon and some chewy razor clams, and you'll feel like you're dining on a beach in Phuket. - Short Rib: Enjoy a selection of four DIY Asian wraps, each pre-filled with some of the most essential elements of their respective cuisines--Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. What are you DIY-ing? The Wagyu of course. Personally, I thought the Viet wrap was the most unique and should maybe be the star of some future courses. - Pineapple: Palate cleanser of Thai basil gel and lime granita. I don't love that pineapple is becoming more popular as a palate cleanser--it's way too sweet, IMO--but the lime granita was nice. - Merlion: I can't have coffee, so my Merlion statue was just straight up coconut cream, paired with coconut ice-cream, and chocolate-hazelnut nibblies. Not sure how Singaporean that is (aside from the statue), but at least they're classic dessert flavors that most people adore. For $150, this was *just* the right amount of food, flavor and creativity that I would want. If you have a big appetite, don't expect to leave stuffed--but do expect to be satisfied. My only quibble--which I did convey--was the lack of Indo-Malaysian representation on the menu. I was told that's in the works and might make its debut next season....

Muje by Jungsik is an incredible new spot on 30th between 6th and 7th Ave. The space is beautiful. Every course is delicious. The flavor profiles are fantastic. Each dish is intentional and creative. The presentation is impressive. Bar none, the staff welcomed us and made us feel appreciated. We look forward to returning.

We haven't gotten the chance to go to Jungsik yet, so we were so excited to be able to get a reservation for Muje. The service was amazing, the servers are very attentive to detail and constantly ask about the food and if we need anything. The restaurant is very modern and the space is comfortable. My partner loves the fried chicken wing stuffed with spiced pork and my favorite is the slightly spicy salmon with razor clams. The Merlion dessert is a must, all the components went well together, the bitterness of the coffee goes harmonious with the vanilla. Highly recommend!

Stopped by on a Friday night for dinner with my best friend. The place itself is gorgeous, moody,…read moreand very architecturally pleasing. To start, we had the lychee martinis. It's not your typical lychee martini. It has Aperol and pineapple, which gives it a great flavor. My only note is that I wish it were a bit stronger. For appetizers we had the yellowtail, which is a must get. It was delicious. We also had the lobster spring rolls, another great dish, and the crispy wontons, which were good but not my favorite compared to everything else. For our entrée we got the beef tenderloin, another must get. It was amazing, super tender, and melts in your mouth. We had it with the fried rice, which was solid. For dessert we had the ice cream sandwich, which was different in the best way and extremely delicious. It wasn't too sweet and the cone "buns" were perfection. Overall, this place is gorgeous and the food matches. I would definitely return. The service was also great, the perfect balance of letting you do your own thing and truly enjoy your evening while still checking in. It is pricey. We each paid $184 including tip, but it's definitely worth it for a special occasion or to spoil yourself a bit.

What started as a quick break turned into one of our favorite moments of the afternoon. We ended up chatting with the bartender for quite a while, swapping recommendations for speakeasies and cocktail bars around the city. It's always refreshing to meet someone who's genuinely passionate about their craft and happy to share local favorites. The cocktails were excellent, and the conversation made the experience even better. This wasn't actually our first visit--we celebrated my birthday here about three years ago, and I still remember how impressed we were with both the food and its presentation. It was nice to return and be reminded why we enjoyed it so much. We also learned that 53 has opened a speakeasy downstairs that's open on select weeknights and features live jazz. Needless to say, that's already on our list for our next trip to the city. Whether you're stopping in for a full dinner or just a well-made cocktail and a break from the Midtown bustle, 53 is well worth a visit.

I usually get the wonton soup with the jiaozi dumplings, and it's one of my favorite things on the menu. I haven't really seen that combination anywhere else, and I think it's really unique and really good. They also have a great happy hour. I'm not the biggest fan of the wings, but the shrimp and lobster roll is definitely worth trying. The service has always been good when I've visited, and the atmosphere is always a vibe. It's close to the Theater District, so it's a great spot to grab dinner before or after a show. There's usually a nice crowd, and you might even bump into an actor or celebrity. Overall, it's a place I keep coming back to because the food is consistently good, the service has been solid, and the overall experience is always enjoyable.

The ambiance meets you at the street before you step into the restaurant, photo op. Beautiful mural . Enter in and the decor is stunningl. You truly get a feel for the design. Im not sure if there is an elevator but the actual restaurant is up a set of stairs. The space is big, as we were seated we kept walking pass seating areas and I thought to myself , we are still going lol. White table cloth service , sexy dim lighting but lit well enough to read the menu. Grown and sexy vibes. Very good looking crowd of people; something for everyone very diverse. It was a ladies night for me. Plenty of eye candy lol the fellas were also dressed nicely. Today's r&b , afro beats , reggae, a little hip hop was played and at the perfect volume. You can comfortably hear one another. Great date night, girls night or solo spot . They have a very long bar area. Its currently restaurant week and its such a good deal a app, entree and desert all for $45. It was 2 of us and we each got a different item to sample things: Oxtail spring rolls crispy outter layer, savory , tender meat 10/10 the dipping sauce isn't needed Chicken wonton were a 6/10 it seemed frozen and reheated Beijing chicken crispy flavor not a ton of batter 8/10 Black prawns plump flavor bombs , crisp vegetables a little salty for me 8/10 Both entrees served with a hefty side of white rice. We shared one rice and took the other to go with some of the left over protein. All the food came out nice and hot. Deserts Dark chocolate mousse I wasn't a fan too bitter for me Vanilla creme brulee also wasn't a fan a little bit of a weird after taste. It was my bestie birthday they brought a sparkler and some of the staff sang happy birthday with one of the items. There is a photo lady she was nice and roped us lol into buying 2 photos they come framed and with access to a digital copy $54. Cocktail Elderflower mojito very refreshing but it better be at $22 lol We took an Uber but the door man informed us they do offer valet. Right next door is a parking facility,Street parking seemed manageable for the area. Auto 20% gratuity was added to the bill. Attended here on a Friday night. I recommend making reservations. This was my first visit but will not be my last.
