Really sweet counter person; delicious chicken/broccoli; especially delicious spicy chicken! (I'm not even a fan of sexism peppercorn, but I really loved this dish!)

In a town full of dumpling shops, if you choose to put the word 'dumpling' in the name of your restaurant, it's a reasonable expectation that you make good dumplings. Sadly, this place misses the mark. Overpriced and flavorless food, and miniature containers of flavorless condiments. Lots of other places to get better quality food for much less money,

A bit pricey in my opinion. I got the chicken curry with rice for $13.95 and it was kind of bland in my opinion. The chicken was very flimsy and rubbery. The curry was not flavorful and the seasoning is not as strong as I thought it would be. Also when I got the chicken curry bowl, the plastic lid on top was melting and crumpling apart from the heat. The plastic lid couldn't close the bowl at all because of the heat. Also some of the rice was dirty and burnt. It was reddish purple. The place was very spacious with lots of customers. There was no background music. The garbage cans were piled up with lots of garbage. The staff cleaned it up though to free up some space in the garbage can. They got lunch specials with certain rice platters with a can of coke or water for $12.99 everyday from 11am to 3:30pm. Too bad the first time I got here it was at 4pm so I really missed the mark.

I was looking for something to eat after catching a show at the Majestic and the line at Los Tacos was insane so I was happy to find that this spot was just around the corner and boy it did not disappoint! Casual but cute atmosphere (it looks new), fast and friendly service and food packed to go so carefully. I ordered soup and they separated the broth and wrapped it in clear wrap so it wouldn't spill and so my meat and noodles were fresh when I poured it in. I got the Taiwanese Beef Soup and it was absolutely delicious. Broth full of flavor and tender meat. And I ordered the mango smoothie and it tasted like real mango (not artificial) and was super smoothly blended! Portions are a good size too! Prices are also decent for the area! My soup and smoothie ran about $25.

Steamed shrimp dumpling very good. soft fresh dough. Fried Pork dumpling average. Too light on the filling. Veg. Lo mein fresh and tasty. Not too oily. Need to add some other noodles to the menu. Prices a little high. Not Chinatown level but acceptable.

I was in need of a quick bite between Broadway shows, and I was drawn in by the seating and dumplings at Emperor. The food was fine! I really liked the soup dumplings. The interior could have been cleaner--especially the bathroom, which did not lock.

First off, this restaurant was so clean. Its hard to say that about most places in the city. We all just look the other way. The food was good too. It tasted fresh and not like it was under a warmer all day. I would check this place out for sure.

Not busy when we went for lunch. Ordered on the tablet. Food was decent and price was reasonable. It's all disposable dishes. I would come back for quick cheap eats.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. The inside atmosphere was nice with ample seating. Dumplings and soup buns were delicious. They were filled with meat and not all dough. I also really loved the bubble tea.

Wow, nice new shop with a second floor table sitting area. This is good value meal in midtown west on gritty 8th Ave. but close enough to the theaters so see tourist hanging around. Don't let the name fool you, they got a lot more than dumplings, think of your favorite new York style Chinese fast food meal without the 5 gallon soy source buckets and 50 pound onions sacks stack up against the walls. had the salmon teriyaki with steam white rice, It was a generous portion of salmon and came with bok-choy as well as white rice. Very tasty teriyaki sauce, the salmon was well cooked and well seasoned. I also had the pan fried vegetable lo Mein Noodles which were super tasty. It was very clearly made with fresh vegetables and not frozen. It was also reasonably priced and would easily feed 2 people if you had something else with it. And yeah I ate dumplings too as part of my take out.

It's not your typical lychee martini. It has Aperol and pineapple, which gives it a great flavor. My only note is that I wish it were a bit stronger. For appetizers we had the yellowtail, which is a must get. It was delicious. We also had the lobster spring rolls, another great dish, and the crispy wontons, which were good but not my favorite compared to everything else. For our entrée we got the beef tenderloin, another must get. It was amazing, super tender, and melts in your mouth. We had it with the fried rice, which was solid. For dessert we had the ice cream sandwich, which was different in the best way and extremely delicious. It wasn't too sweet and the cone "buns" were perfection. Overall, this place is gorgeous and the food matches. I would definitely return. The service was also great, the perfect balance of letting you do your own thing and truly enjoy your evening while still checking in. It is pricey. We each paid $184 including tip, but it's definitely worth it for a special occasion or to spoil yourself a bit.

What started as a quick break turned into one of our favorite moments of the afternoon. We ended up chatting with the bartender for quite a while, swapping recommendations for speakeasies and cocktail bars around the city. It's always refreshing to meet someone who's genuinely passionate about their craft and happy to share local favorites. The cocktails were excellent, and the conversation made the experience even better. This wasn't actually our first visit--we celebrated my birthday here about three years ago, and I still remember how impressed we were with both the food and its presentation. It was nice to return and be reminded why we enjoyed it so much. We also learned that 53 has opened a speakeasy downstairs that's open on select weeknights and features live jazz. Needless to say, that's already on our list for our next trip to the city. Whether you're stopping in for a full dinner or just a well-made cocktail and a break from the Midtown bustle, 53 is well worth a visit.

Its currently restaurant week and its such a good deal a app, entree and desert all for $45.
