We had a party of 7 on Saturday night and our server, Kyleigh, was quick to take our drink orders and then our food orders. Everyone loved their entrees. We had shrimp scampi, steak, chicken fettuccine and veal. We had tiramisu for dessert and everyone agreed it was one of the best they had ever had. The ambience is wonderful at Marciano's. Diane and I very much enjoyed our one dinner here the night we arrived at The Guest House at Graceland. The interior had the ambiance of rustic elegance, and great authentic Italian alta cucina is served here. Although several types of salad were available, including traditional Caesar Salad, I opted for with a refreshing Greek Salad with Feta Cheese and Vinaigrette Dressing, plus two large and clean Crab Cakes. Excellent complimentary Foccacia was also served. Then while Diane happily addressed her entree of Veal Parmigiano Alfredo, I had a memorable main of Veal Saltimbocca with thinly pounded and fork tender scallops of veal, accompanied by a side of Roasted Potatoes that we shared. This place is fantastic! We had the chicken parmigiana, salmon, and seafood manicotti and all were amazing. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Memphis. I'm so glad I found this place. I went for a friend's birthday dinner and of course I had to take a second trip back! Honestly, the first time I went I only had the crab cakes and a cocktail...strawberry lemonade drop to be exact. Everything was so good and from looking at others food I know I had to try it. My second go round, I was able to try more. I started out with the bread and dipping sauce. Then I tried the Margherita Pizza. It was super yummy and had a great mixture of ingredients. We also had the antipasto platter. It was good as well. On to the entrée and drinks! I had the Seafood Manicotti. It has pasta stuffed with crab meat baked in marinara sauce and topped with cheese, served with vegetables. It was really good as well. For my drinks I had one strawberry lemon drop and then a Sangria. I don't know what kind it was but it was green. The parking is not so good...that's the only thing I can think of, but not enough to keep me from going back, lol! read more

Saw the positive reviews and decided to give it a try as I visited Memphis for a weekend baseball tournament. Sat at the bar and the bartender said most people were regulars. I see why. Ordered the seafood manicotti and wasn't disappointed. Very rich seafood taste without too much pasta. Would have liked a little more broccoli as a side, but certainly didn't cause an issue. Upon arrival I was nervous of my dinner choice, as there was only one other car in the parking lot. An empty Italian restaurant on a Sunday night is not a good sign. But Marciano is kinda in the cut, and not well lit from outside. However the building is stately and the perfect balance of rustic Mediterranean rocky stone and banquet hall realness. The interior is warm and well lit with super random artwork and Italian design elements throughout. They have a huge full bar which is also a nice focal point. For dinner I ordered the Bolognese which was either with braised rabbit or lamb, I can't remember which one. However the meat was cooked and stewed to perfection and TENDER as could be! Paired with perfect aldente pasta, I was in heaven!!!! The house bread and pesto spread really set the mood, that I would be in for a beautiful epicurean treat, and I was not wrong. The pesto itself is more Mediterranean than Italian with tons of fresh herbs but tasted more like parseley than basil, like a traditional pesto, but it was creamy, fresh, citrus zingy and delicious! Served alongside warm ciabatta type bread...I tried to eat the whole plate and my food hadn't even arrived yet. Two healthy pours of wine, one plate of pasta, a handsome serving of warm bread and I'm surprised they didn't have to open the door and roll my fat a** out! I have no clue why this place wasn't buzzing with families for Sunday dinner and couples for late night date night, because it's absolutely delicious, with awesome service, and clearly is underrated so there is no wait or need to make reservations. I was just passing thru Memphis and ordered carryout food from Marciano's. The food was absolutely delicious! When I placed the order by phone they were very helpful & professional. They had the food ready in the time they quoted (for my order it was only a 15-20min wait from the time I placed the order). It was hot & waiting for me when I arrived. As always, my review is entirely based on my experience!! It was out first time coming here. I'll start with the service. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The place needs to seriously consider lightening it up. Is dark and gloomy inside. Is too depressing for my liking. Now the food, I ordered shrimp fettuccine. I had the impression that this place was authentic Italian, but it really is not. My jumbo shrimp were cooked to perfection. My pasta was more a gravy sauce consistency. And made with some mix of shredded Asiago cheese (I asked) and heavy cream!! It tasted like Olive Garden pasta. Nothing fancy or yummy!! My husband ordered the rack of lamb. It came with a red sauce. My husband said the red sauce was too acidic. Which I also thought their red pasta sauce was way acidic too. It might be a recurring theme here! And my last observation: I don't know why Italian restaurants in Memphis (not all) don't provide/have original parmesano reggiano cheese?? Next time I'm in the mood for good pasta I'll visit Andrew Michael' or Mary Catherine's. I'm still in the search for a good pasta place in the city! read more

We'd go 4 to 4.5 on the food. It was really good. But the service was toooooooooooo slow. We had to wait for everything except to get a seat (walked right in). One of the best places i have ever been around. This is a gem. Let me start by saying our hostess who picked phone to take reservation and to attend us. She is one the best person i have ever met who truly is gem of a person and as hostess. Kudos 5 stars to koi(pardon me if i misspelled name) for an amazing experience and being so polite, friendly and gracious. Coming to place...ambience is like an Italian restaurant is...loved the table and decor. Food...flavours, portions were bang on. Complimentary breads with green olive and pesto dip was scrumptious. Well! A friend recommended Marciano's and I had never heard of it. We had a party of 6 and it was GREAT!!! When we arrived there was only 1 car in the parking lot and I was worried we had made a bad choice...but we didn't!! The restaurant filled up as the dinner hour wore on. What a refreshing experience!! We all commented the first thing that the music was nice and at a talk able volume...it set a very nice atmosphere. It was less about a "slick" environment and more about the yummy food! It felt like dining "used to be"--high quality food that is tasty at a decent price. An actual DINING EXPERIENCE. SO refreshing. Good price points...We did not feel "ripped off"which is par for the course these days. Some of the dishes at our table were: fabulous crab cakes, salads, veal Marsala, crab stuffed flounder, stuffed salmon And chicken Marsala. We tried the tiramisu and it was an unexpected flavor explosion in our mouths! They serve a nicely toasted bread with a DELICIOUS pesto to start. Everyone had a cocktail and wine and the ingredients in the mixed drinks were high quality and well mixed. The wines were a nice pour too! The server was very appropriate and seemed to know her business and was happy to serve to create a nice experience. I came here on New Year's day about 2 hours after they opened and the place was completely empty. The waitress was friendly, but not very knowledgeable about the wine selection. The place is smaller than it appears to be on the outside, but still very nice and had a romantic feel. They seem to change their menu because the one that we were given was a Christmas menu. I ordered the stuffed flounder with veggies and potatoes instead of pasta. Everything was DELICIOUS!! I was so full that I could not try the creme brûlée that I was eyeing. I also had the Riesling and the glass was a good size and I was given a good amount of wine. I was able to sample the wine before ordering which I really appreciated. My wife's doctor suggested she stick to a Mediterranean diet, so for her birthday I got reservations to this restaurant that mixed her two favorite styles of food. Never trying it before or knowing anyone that had we gave this a go. The food was delicious. The owner is the chef and he came out to check if the meal was satisfactory. Loved the personal touch. The salad had just the right amount of pepperiness, and ample dressing. The seafood manicotti was great. I enjoyed every bite. My wife loved the roasted salmon with angel hair pasta. The desert you could tell it was freshly made. The cheesecake not pictured due to my wife eating and she doesn't like cheesecake was good. She let me sample it before it was devoured. Visited them day after July 4th and found the place all to us. Obviously concerned about the lack of interest in the place but the concerns were immediately laid to rest by the owner/chef. He informed us that day after July 4th is always slow and we were late anyways (almost closing time). It's really a big place and it was weirdly funny to dine in such quiet and peace. We started with bruschetta, which was promptly prepared and served. The toppings may be premixed but were delicious nevertheless. Out entrees of Fettuccini primavera and spinach salad were just lovely. Pasta had tender broccoli, several veggies, fresh garlic and wine sauce were perfect. The salad was all fresh with a prefect topping of walnuts. Really caring chef/owner. He is quite passionate about his establishment and his preparations reflect that. Happy accident our daughter had just finished a piano performance on the other side of the circle. Looking a dinner spot but 7:15 on Friday night. Yelped as we drove by. Decided to give it a try based on reviews. LOVED it. Staff very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Prices very reasonable for quality. Caesar salad traditional; lettuce fresh, dressing good but not heavy. All 3 entrees were delicious and different. Not American Italian but almost Italian with a Mediterranean twist. Came to Marciano thinking it was strange to see Mediterranean and Italian on the same menu and that the prices were reasonable from their website. Little did I know that this was an A-Plus fine dining establishment for 1/3 the price. For the food, ambiance and service this place is a steal. Its a great date place for the romantics as well. I ordered the Ciopino for my soup and omg was it good, it fact it was so good and filling that with the outstanding bread it could have been a meal by itself. For my entree I had the rack of lamb and it was excellent as well, perfectly cooked and tender. I come to find out the chef was from Turkey and trained in Italian dining in Italy. Omg thats why this place was so good and such a wonderful find. For $50 with tax and tip I had a 1st class dinner than in New Orleans would have cost me $150. I will definitely be back. read more

This was strongly recommended to us by an acquaintance. Never listening to this person again....Attractive, but small place. Interesting menu, which is mostly Italian based with a splash of Persian. We were very excited, as we love both of these cuisines. It went wrong right off the bat - the fountain drinks from the bar were really off. Next came the Cioppino ‍, which was literally the worst cioppino I've ever had, and terribly lacking in seafood. The Caesar salad was equally depressing, and almost as soupy as the cioppino. At least they couldn't possibly mess up a margherita pizza, right? Wrong! I would swear this frisbee came out of a vending machine. A lunch lady at elementary school wouldn't serve this to children, but they served it to my girlfriend with 1/2 thick tomato slices on it and absolutely no flavor. My Fesenjoon was not terrible, but left a lot to be desired. We asked for the check after a few bites, with our waitress embarrassingly, repeatedly asking if we wanted boxes. Thanks,but no thanks. Just lovely, lovely service (yes, I need to emphasize the lovely twice). Yelp was showing this restaurant as a 10 min drive from my hotel which was uber convenient. Now, I have become generally wary of Italian food in America, as having eaten my way thru various parts of Italy, on multiple visits, I have to confess to being an food snob, especially when it comes to Italian restaurants in the USA. However all the reviews for this place sounded really good, and so I decided to chance it, and am very glad I did! The restaurant when I entered only had x3 tables with patrons. After being seated by the only waitress/ hostess, to my surprise 5 mins later out strolled the chef from the kitchen door, walked over to my table and started chatting with and helped me with my order! Now how is that for service?? I ended up getting the special Appetizer of the day cause I love Polenta and this was combined with mushrooms (another love) and gargonzola (yes, I love blue cheese too - can you detect a theme here?). The other thing I got from the regular menu was the Cioppino (Italian seafood soup). While waiting for my food, the waitress bought over some Bread and pesto gratis for the table and i just kicked back and relaxed while enjoying the lovely music playing in the background consisting of the Frank Sinatra songbook. I thought the Polenta dish was awesome-sauce! Really light and flavourful. The Cioppino was good, with lovely depth of flavour in the stock, but I wanted more white fish pieces and ended up getting heaps more salmon. I wouldnt mind getting either of these dishes again, however for the Cioppino, I would def ask for less pasta and no cheese. There was enough room left in my tummy to get some Creme Brûlée for dessert. This was overall nice but the sugar topping in one part was too burnt and that taste had also permeated into the creme and tasted really funky. This is a hidden D.U.D. -Don't-U-Dine! After reading reviews I quickly thought I found a gem for date night but that excitement turned quickly as we entered the restaurant. First, there was no hostess stand so no one was there to greet us or even acknowledge that we were there for our 8pm reservation. Once acknowledged by the bartender we were seated in 1 of 3 mix match tables...Now my date and I are individually well versed in food from being a food blogger and a certified food judge through WFC. I digress, this place is struggling for an identity and so is the food. We ordered the Crab Cakes, & Caprese Grilled Beef Tenderloin to start. If there was a high the Crab Cakes were tasty but we weren't asked how we wanted the Beef Tenderloin prepared and it showed. Unseasoned and well done with a thick cut beefsteak tomato. We ordered the salmon and the dish of the day Shrimp Scampi w/Scallops. The salmon was prepared just like the beef, over cooked and well done and my pasta w/scampi was cold. The scallops were tasty so we ate the 5 on the plate plus the 2 Colossal Shrimp...Each others company and conversation kept our date upbeat because the food was a miss on every level.
