Potato soup and Rigatoni con Funghi, Broccoli e Formaggio di Capra
Amber B.

The service and ambience was really great very attentive. The inside is a very nice vibe. However, the food was OK. The soup was tasteless and described as if it would have been promising or more ingredients unsure but wouldn't get that again. The pasta was pretty dry and also wasn't my favorite. I actually got it to go and I ended up throwing it away. There was also a salad that we ordered which also wasn't that great. It was just salad. Nothing special but again the vibes were good. Maybe other things are better, just needs a little more flavor beyond salt and pepper.

Very classy establishment with an abundance of fine wines, cheeses, and Italian dishes to choose from. I started with a hard cheese and meat recommended by the bartender and a delicious espresso martini. While sitting at the bar, a regular patron offered for me to try her orzo, which was positively scrumptious. It was full of flavor and decadent as could be. I decided to order the spaghetti alla carbonara that was very filling and had an adequate amount of carbonara balanced with cheese. Overall, a chic experience worth visiting.

Olives and yes that's a red olive. Yums

The service was great. Ben was very attentive and helpful. The olive miste was beautiful. I've never had a red olive. The martini though small but cute with basil oil. It was delicious. The pasta entrees were just okay. The sponge cake with raspberry and pistachio filling was very good. They have a very extensive wine and cheese menu. Overall I recommend.

Wonderful selection of Italian wines with excellent Italian food in an intimate atmosphere where locals hang out. Highly recommended! Five star

It was freaking outstanding. *plays Earth Wind And Fire "Outstanding" in the background* I have never had a salad with no dressing...I ate the entire thing. The Carbonara...CHEF'S KISS! They know what they are doing there. I love the history and the knowledge they understand about Italian food because it shows in their menu! Gotta give my foodie friend his props on putting me on this one! And yes, everything you've seen or heard about Hunter is true. That's a true MIXOLOGIST.

Hip Italian restaurant in Midtown. This was the spot my wife picked for Valentine's Day. They had a special set menu for the occasion, but still had a variety of options. It was a four course meal. We started with the raw oysters which were really good. Second course was pasta, which was outstanding. I can't remember what type of fish they had for the third course, but it was great. Last course was desert. The vanilla cake was excellent. The service was outstanding. Our server gets an A+, she was awesome at selecting wines to pair with the different courses. It's located in the heart of Midtown and I enjoyed the atmosphere. The recommended attire is 'dressy', which is partially true. It's more hip so you don't have to go blazer and loafers. I highly recommend for a date night and special occasion dinner. If it's something more casual they have a great bar area as well.

The bar is fabulous. The food is fabulous. It's our go-to date night in Memphis restaurant. Make a reservation, they'll be booked.

Went with my mother and sister while we were staying nearby attending a wedding party in Bartlett. Read about Catherine and Mary's online and decided to give it a shot based on pics and reviews. As soon as we stepped inside we were warmly greeted and made to feel at home. I must say here that my sister has a small disorder such that it's hard for her to talk in complete sentences, and she has a notable stutter. This means she also experiences a great deal of social anxiety. She felt so welcomed that she hardly stuttered while we were there, and when we left she said, "This was such a good place for people like me." I loved that they made me and my mom welcome, but am doubly grateful that you went out of your way to make my sister so happy. She really felt like you treated her like an old friend. My sister has a speech problem, but she's not mentally disabled (in fact she's an electrical engineer). So the kindness was not lost on her, and I know this will be a place we'll look forward to when we visit family in the Memphis area. Thank you so much for the excellent food and the awesome vibes! We shared two of the salad platters. Then we dug into multiple pasta dishes along with the chicken and fish entrees. There's a wide variety of mixed drinks, wine and beer to choose from. The coffee and gelato are excellent as well. James provided wonderful service. The place used to be an old hotel and the restaurant is located in what used to be the lobby. It's a big space, but you can still easily hold a conversation. There's complimentary valet parking just around the corner.

They had everything set up nicely when we arrived. The service was really good, the ambiance was great. I loved the calming vibe with a touch of various genres of music playing softly in the background. On to the food! Everything that we tried that day was flavor packed. We had the calamari, meatballs, and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. For dinner, I went with the lasagna and I am glad I did. It was just the right portion and packed with ingredients including meat sauce, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan. Let me also mention that we went during Happy Hour, so we were able to take advantage of some of the drink specials. Great restaurant! I look forward to going back and trying more menu items.

The drink selection is limited... explanation was a tiny kitchen. We had water, but they served it in tiny glasses. Needless to say, sitting outside in July in Memphis, our waitress made at least a dozen trips to refill our glasses. Now for the food, I had veal piccata, my favorite Italian dish. It was meh. Not much flavor. My wife had shrimp in macaroni pasta. It, too, was meh. However, one of our friends had the salmon. She loved it. To top off our meal, we had cheesecake...yep, you guessed it, meh. The whole meal was average and a bit disappointing for the price.

The Italian bread with herbs was delicious, and every appetizer we tried -- from the cheese fritters to the calamari -- was excellent. I chose the smoked chicken ravioli for my entrée, and it was truly delectable. We finished dinner with key lime pie for dessert, and it was mmm good. Overall, the meal was fabulous. My only complaint was the air-conditioning, which felt brutally cold at times. Thankfully it wasn't on continuously, but I couldn't help wondering -- why is the AC blasting on a cold January night? Blackened chicken tortellini was pretty good, just a little too salty. My husband's "tomato sauce" for his veal parmigiana had such a strange flavor, like an entire bottle of worcestershire sauce was dumped into it. Veal was either really tough or the silverware was too dull, because he really had to hack it to cut it. I really hope they make their focaccia in house, because that was the best bite of the meal.

I was wearing my "mom clothes" and we had our toddler with us. Not once did I not feel welcomed though. Our waiter was super nice, very helpful with the menu options. I wish I had gotten his name (we actually dined over 3 months ago and I'm just getting to this review!). He seemed to have been busy, but never let it affect his performance. Now on to the food. My goodness, it was delicious and I have been craving to go back. First off, I appreciate that they are a kid friendly place. I understand not every place has to be, but when a place offers something for kids, it just makes the dining experience even better for me. They were out of the kids cheese pizza, but our waiter did a cheese flatbread for my son. I mean, that alone was good, but my entree was the best! I had the basil pesto tortellini. All the flavors came together perfectly in it. Highly recommend! My husband got the bbq chicken flatbread, one of the best flatbreads we've had. Seriously! As an appetizer, we got the baked spinach dip. It had so much flavor and pairing it with those house made tortilla chips were just the extra it needed. The only thing that was disappointing was the tiramisu. We have had better. The espresso flavor just wasn't enough for my liking. We'll be back for sure! Maybe a date night for dinner.

Recommend the BBQ Chicken pizza with a side of gouda cheese! If you are ever on death row, request this from Ciao Bella for your last earthly meal! You won't be disappointed, well maybe for previous choices but not for the last meal choice. Other notable mentions, peanut butter chocolate pie for desert and the calamari. Again try the calamari with the gouda cheese. Dining was very elegant and setting was romantic. Felt upper class by Monday, today. Compliments to the Chef and for management for fitting us into the schedule. Well done!

Moody lighting, low rumble of noise and music you enjoy but don't notice. My kinda place. Rye was our server and she was excellent. Not only top-notch recommendations but also let us know about the tasting menu- I can't wait to come back to try the off-menu one they do the last Wednesday of every month. We got raw oysters to start and chose the seasonal preparation. It was almost like frozen lemonade crème fresh, but with the brine of the oysters it just worked. Would def order again! We started with a whiskey sour and AM old fashioned. Both great but mine was so good my husband ordered another round of them for us before we got a bottle of red. I don't recall what bottle it was but it worked perfectly as it wasn't too heavy and swung easily from apps/pasta/entrees. Then we opted into the blind tasting menu. 5 courses, chosen from the menu that you don't know what you're getting until it touches the table. My husband and I are pretty adventurous as far as food goes so it was perfect for us. No shit- Everything was amazing. I loved the tasting menu as it was not any dishes we were considering and I am so glad we got to try things we wouldn't have otherwise. For example, the little asparagus appetizer was the best thing we ate, on God. Like, what in the actual F ! The kind of magic they created with those little green veggies was out of this world --I didn't even want to swallow it was that delicious. There was some kind of fish crudo with beet and kumquat relish. Weird and so good! We also had some pasta with a lemon-y butter sauce and spinach and then a chicken entree. I was getting so full by the time entrees came I ate less than half of it but the skin was crispy, chicken was cooked to perfection and husband finished them both. Now yall, the dessert was a heavenly little pot of rich chocolate with a caramel base and crunchy honeycomb crisp on top. I was so full I couldn't finish it but my husband finished his and then mine. We also ordered a little affogato and it was perfect to finish the meal. I will absolutely be back and look forward to trying their other restaurants in the near future!!!

I didn't recognize the folks working there (it's a Wednesday and we normally go by on a Friday or Saturday) and when the young man rang up my order he very politely explained I would have to answer the question about the tip before I could swipe my card. I said to him in repsonse "not my first rodeo" and then another gentleman asked me if I knew his software. I was somewhat confused by the question and then he proceeded to insult me. I explained I had been coming by this location for years and he pushed back they had just updated the software and the young man was explaining it to me. I then asked when he had updated the software, he replied in the last month or two. I then replid to him I had visited since then (and this was the same process as my last visit). Then he said I had an attitude. I have always given a 10.00 tip on my 10.00 purchase and I did the same tonight. Would I recommend coming to this location? Not on your life. This was a horrible person that may need to work in the back office and not with the public.
