This restaurant group is top tier and they've done an excellent job with JoEste. Front of House, Back of House, top to bottom. It was a great experience and the food was fantastic! We're excited to go back! read more

I recently visited Josephine Estelle with a colleague, and it was my first time dining there. I was immediately impressed by the beautiful ambience, excellent menu, and thoughtfully crafted drinks and wine selection. I enjoyed a glass of Patricia Green Sauvignon Blanc from the Willamette Valley, and it was outstanding. For dinner, I ordered the steak, which was perfectly prepared and delicious, although I believe it may no longer be on the menu. I also took home the lasagna, and it was absolutely incredible. The menu reminded me of Catherine & Mary's, with a similar elevated yet approachable feel. My colleague ordered the chicken Parmesan, which looked fantastic and will definitely be my choice on my next visit. Josephine Estelle offers an exceptional dining experience, and I will certainly be returning. read more

Great italian food, but small portions. The inside is simple but upscale. Service was fabulous, staff went above and beyond to accommodate. Quite impressive especially for a newer spot. Mason was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! My favorite dish was the Rigatoni, my parents loved the Focaccia with olive oil. read more

They are always super busy but still provide excellent service. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and recommendations have been spot on!! I'm not ever a fan of toasted Ravioli but the rest of my party loved it! Great vibe for a date night, GNO or friends gathering! Head upstairs afterwards for drinks if they have availability..... Thank me later! read more

Important to understand the menu and how the courses are intended to work together. The pasta is portioned as the second course prior to the entree. The pastas are delicious but not sized as entrees. The brazino entree is fabulous. Desserts are outstanding. Bread must be ordered separately. The cocktails did not hit the mark. Noise level low at 7 pm picking up later but not insufferable. The menu overall is fairly limited leading to my first comment. Know before you go. Entrance into the building is challenging!!! read more

Just stopped in for a drink and apps during the late lunch hour. It's nicely decorated and the staff were really nice and helpful. I'll have to come back for dinner soon! The ravioli appetizer was amazing! read more

Could not recommend more! Service was great. Vibes were great :) food was delicious! Shells were a bit more on the seafood-taste than I expected, but still good. Rigatoni and Speccatelle were delicious. Beef tartare 11/10. read more

Went for lunch and loved it! Our server, Abby, was personable and attentive. The meatball appetizer was perfection as usual. I ordered the pork belly BLT, amazing! The tomato tasted fresh out of the garden. My friend had the spaghetti which I tasted and loved! We shared some fries and WOW! Even though it's a simple thing, they were seasoned to perfection. I can see myself just going to the bar having a drink and fries!!! We shared the sticky toffee cake which was divine!!!! My only (mild) complaint would be that it is super bright during the day. I wish they had some kind of sheer drapery because you could see all of my wrinkles ha ha ha. read more

We happened to snag a reservation opening week, and it was quite the experience! My husband and I love AM restaurants, and we were so happy to try a few things on the menu. We tried the Caesar salad, beef tartare, and two different pastas. Everything was solid, well seasoned, and timely. I wish my ravioli was a little thinner, and a couple of our drinks were underwhelming. There were definitely some "opening week" moments--a lot of the servers felt like they were still getting the hang of things and overall, the vibe was chaotic, but for opening week, I was generally impressed! It seems like they are getting their flow. If you're looking for a larger Andrew Michael, Josephine Estelle has a totally different vibe! It's a lot larger, and the menu is simpler/safer. I think if you're going for a romantic, intimate date night, I would go for Andrew michael. For larger groups and parties, Josephine Estelle would be the perfect fit! I am excited to see how things settle for Josephine Estelle, and I want to try Rosie's tavern upstairs because it looked so cool! Definitely check this place out! read more

We so so wanted to love everything about this place. We went about 4 weeks after opening. Neither of us were impressed with our dishes. I had the squid ink pasta and found it disappointing. Maybe it was part of the kinks they were still working out! read more

Went to Josephine Estelle's for dinner last night and it did NOT disappoint!! We were so excited to come here and everything was phenomenal! Our server Mason was great and helped us pick the best menu items! If I go back I'd get the garlic bread, Caesar, and shells pasta!! Can't go wrong with anything at this awesome new restaurant! read more

Went for a birthday dinner. Our server, John, was excellent. However, our experience with the restaurant was not good. The interior is pleasing, but the temperature was just too cold. Lots of people complaining about the temperature, but it didn't get better. We also mentioned it, but no change was made while we were there. The menu has a limited number of choices. Some of the choices just did not seem to "fit" with the others. The food was just ok. Nothing special. Not great Italian food by any definition. Although some in our party wanted a "second course" as their main entree, the restaurant insisted on serving it as a second course, before the main entrees. One dish was extremely spicy. Then we waited for two main entrees to be served. After two hours at the restaurant and still no main entrees, we asked for them to be boxed, which they were, and we left. We will not return. Too many negatives. read more

Exceptional service and food. Attentive help and beautiful atmosphere! We went when they were first opened but every time we are in Germantown on. Monday they are closed. My favorites were pasta made in house and their Caesar salad. read more

We went here for my friend's birthday, and it was so nice! It is kind of noisy for a "fine dining" experience, but that just made it more lively! I had the Shells, which had seafood in it. Very yummy! The service was great, too! read more

We had a wonderful first experience at Josephine Estelle tonight. We had a reservation for 5 to celebrate 2 birthdays. We were impressed by the beautiful space, nice lighting, and open window pasta room where all the fresh pasta is made by the chef's wife! We were seated quickly and immediately greeted by our server Lisa who not only made our experience memorable; but personal. She thoroughly and patiently walked us through the menu answering every question and gave us history of the restaurant and owners vision, as well. The wine service was wonderful and the food was delicious. At the end of the night we even got a special birthday candle tribute with dessert. We had a variety of appetizers, all delicious. Loved the fried ravioli with maw maw's gravy, the tuna tartar, the snap peas and the carrot dishes! The spaghetti and meatballs, shells (if you like seafood) and rigatoni (a little spicy-but good spicy) were all delicious. A highlight Secondi dish was the Branzino, which was cooked perfectly. Gelato finished off the night perfectly. We will definitely be returning and look forward to seeing Lisa again! read more

Service was terrible. We were there for almost 1.5 hours and still hadn't gotten our entree. We ended up leaving with our entree to go. Our server, Eric, had no idea what he was doing. He had to ask us what our order was a couple of times. If you can't remember, write it down! The cocktails were awful. Wine selection was basic. The Caesar salad was mediocre at best. Can't comment on the entree since we didn't get to eat it. Ambiance was loud and crowded. read more

Really disappointing. Expecting good food and service and got neither. The steak tartare was maybe the blandest I've ever had. Nothing was special or even much above decent. Will unlikely return ever. Shame as I do like Andrew Michael. read more

I have to agree with the review about the restaurant not providing options for those who are dairy free or allergy sensitive. I started with the vegetable options for appetizers. I am vegan and figured for the main course you can't ruin pasta as long as you cook it with vegetables and either marinara or olive oil. I was told on the phone that the chef could make any dish vegan. So I picked a dish that had fish which I left out but all of the ingredients (spinach, lemon, canelinni, and olives) would be great in pasta. When the dish arrived the only ingredient in the dish was beans. Not the other ingredients. It was bland and not tasty. The waiter blamed the kitchen, the manager blamed the waiter. No one apologized or made my experience better. The staff could have added the items missing. I asked them to take it back. I can forgive bad food but bad service needs to improve. Also. I did ask if the chef could make me something vegan when I was ordering. Most chefs love to create their own food dish. I love everything so I thought leave it open. I was told I should pick from the menu. read more

First let me start with the bad...if you have mobility issues this place is not a good choice. Handicap parking is located on the east side of building and the ramp to enter the building starts on the north side and wraps completely around the building to the south entrance which has 6 steep steps to walk up if you are dropped off. Once inside if you have a walker or wheelchair it would be difficult navigating through the restaurant. If you are seated facing west the windows have no shade and the tint isn't strong enough to keep the sun from blinding you. Now for the good... Service from Erika was good as she was very attentive to making sure glasses were full and taking care of any requests we asked of her. Well one more thing I didn't like was that they will only take your full order as I asked to order an appetizer and was told to give her our full order. Personally I like to order my appetizer then take my time reading the menu. But regardless the food was delicious. We started with an order of garlic bread that was served in a fresh olive oil garlic pepper sauce that was good. We then had an order of fried ravioli with a Mariana sauce served on the side that was delicious. My wife ordered the chicken parm that was not the best she had ever had but was tasty. I had the pork entree that was was fall off the bone tender and juicy on top of placenta that was incredibly delicious. I ended up switching with my wife as she liked mine better. For dessert we went with the tiramisu which was a nice lite finish to our dinner. Portions are nice size and prices are inline with most fine restaurants. Everything we had was tasty and the ambience reminds you of an old Italian restaurant in the upper east side of New York. I give Josephine Estelle a thumbs up. read more

I give 1 star for our sweet server. My husband made reservations for our anniversary and told the person I had dairy allergies. When we arrived, there were NO options for dairy free aside from focaccia. The options they gave the server came back and said, 'well actually that has dairy" And then they brought the focaccia out with cheese!!! How careless can they be at a "fine dining " restaurant! They knew ahead of time, could have told us they couldn't make it happen but instead they got our business for an order of bread and two drinks at $51 before tip. I tipped our sweet server plenty bc she has a daughter with allergies and understands it is unacceptable even for a mediocre dining experience, such a disappointment when my husband and I drive almost an hour for our special dinner. read more
