Maple bacon. Nice brunch spot in Plano. It's far north Dallas, well monied area in North Texas do the market is cluttered with good places to have brunch. To make it here, good isn't cutting it, you have to bring it. Maple bacon did just that. Wait wasn't long, but for great food, the wait is there and worth it. Place was packed to capacity. We asked for a booth because those have shields. Staff is masked, customers are full on maskless. I have both shots. Still, wife doesn't yet so we still take precautions. Ordered french toast, and waffles. French toast came out spectacular. Waffle looked great, but needed more flavor. More vanilla extract to punch it up. If I'm eating out, you need to make better than I can at home and I have a particular set of skills with waffle grills. Wait staff was jumping so that was on point. My eggs, over medium, perfect as I could imagine. Delish. I'm picky, they hit the mark. Yolk gooey, whites cooked. Perfect medium. Noise level was brunchy and what you miss most given the pandemic forced us to go silence. I missed the chatter. It's back. . All in all this was well worth the drive, the tolls, about 45 minutes from my city to theirs. Well worth being put on my rotation. Going back some day soon because I skipped coffee. This was our second time coming here & it didn't disappoint. The first visit I ordered a basic French toast breakfast and added sausage links, which was as good as it could get for something so simple. Today however I took a chance & ordered one of the stacked meals called the Sunshine Mountain, which was a mashup of a few different things (French toast w/berries and whipped cream, chicken tenders, upgraded smoked sausage and a donut). Everything was so fresh & flavorful. The chicken tenders were so CRISPY and juicy omg. I did have to ask for more whipped cream on the side because everything was so hot that it melted, but that's a problem I will never mind having lol. I also love that this place gives you a FULL glass of fresh orange juice, unlike most places that give you a 6oz glass for $4. So, it's a challenge to visit a place for the first time on a holiday that's big for dining. First, let me say they seems to be doing as good a job as people in this area will tolerate as it pertains to COVID precautions. Hand sanitizer is on the tables, and the servers are all masked. They accommodated our party of five quickly and efficiently.service was prompt & efficient without being overwhelming - exactly what we look for. They brew a great cup of coffee, too! As you can tell by the photos, portion size is enormous here...or mostly so. I've never seen so much corned beef in one serving, on my son's plate, outside of those mile- high, New York-style sandwiches. I'm the only one who was able to finish my breakfast & that's because I anticipated the portion size. I will only knock them on two items - first, we ordered a poutine (at 9:30am). Sadly, the gravy was not hot enough to melt the cheese. That's on us. We ordered something off-breakfast. My bagel was another story. The bagel itself was enormous. Unfortunately, for $13, the rest was not to my expectations. It had plenty of capers & sliced tomato. It was a bit light on the lox, thought. More disappointing, though, was that barely any cream cheese was on the bagel. In fact, it did not even cover the bagel surface. The flavors worked together, but I could not taste any cream cheese whatsoever. Everything else w as wonderful. Two retractions did not change the overall opinion of the restaurant. Let me preface by saying that after my last breakfast place and disappointing experience I had set my expectations lower to prepare myself. What a colossal mistake. This place blew the previous experience out of the not just the water but the ocean! Pricing was similar but the food was significantly better. Portion sizes made me feel like I was getting more than I should. And even though they were packed, my food came out quickly and was nice and hot. You could easily tell this is a local favorite. Staff is friendly and attentive. Noise level moderate given all of the patrons. Music was at a reasonable volume. And you can pay by scanning the QR code on your bill. It's a treat for me to go when I am a single person and always end up paying $40.00, with all the alcoholic coffed, and drinks. As I don't live in this area, I normally come after my Dr.'s appt.at Presby Plano. Today I came after Church. My Server was awful. I got my Baile's Coffee, waited for my PeachBum, after requesting both at the same time. Food ordered and requested 2 panckes to go. My food came from another person. My Server did nor check on me, and never saw him for a good 30 minutes. I got my own ToGo Container. I wanted some plain coffee, and looking for another drink. Server finally came to my table, and asked where were my pancakes as they never came with the food. I got them ToGo. No body cheked my table including a Mgr. Walked in in New Year's Day and got seated right away, although it was pretty full in there. Ordered coffee and water, and when the coffee came, the waitress accidentally spilled it all over my leg. It wasn't so hot it burned me, but still....we ordered our food and proceeded to wait about 40 minutes for it to be brought to us. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and waffles, and I got the chicken and waffles (the menu names are cute and I don't remember them off the top of my head but that's basically what it was.) The donut on top was great, and the bacon was cooked perfectly and the steak/chicken were both seasoned nicely and cooked well. Eggs were served the way we ordered them. We will definitely be back to explore some of the other menu items, and hopefully it won't take as long to be served. One thing that surprised, me though....they only comped our coffee due to the spill. I mean, my whole leg was drenched in coffee, it wasn't a few little drops. Texas style Belgian waffles - you can't mess up waffles! These were just fine. The eggs were a little over cooked and the sausage was dry/a little burnt. The Cambridge - this was a "chef's pick" and it wasn't that great :( we've definitely had better eggs Benedict's. The hollandaise sauce was way too overpowering. I think this is my new favorite brunch place. I'll suggest going with an idea of what you want in mind, because the menu is overwhelming and everything looks amazing. I had a Hummingbird, I think it was called, from the Bubbles portion of the drink menu and it had some coconut cream that was such a nice touch. Then I got the Texas Chicken & Bacon Waffles and wow! So delicious. It came with waffles topped with strawberries, chicken strips, and bacon! Oh! And a donut! gravy and syrup on the side and an egg. My daughter got the kid's breakfast. Everything was so good and well paired. They were busy, but the wait was short and the service was on point. The place is decorated so cutely and it just felt really comfortable. Everyone was timely and it did not take long to get our seats. Our Server was excellent, fast and his customer service was Great. Place was clean. Atmosphere was loud but overall great. Food was cooked to Perfection and tasted Great. We went here for lunch today at 1:15 PM. I have to say that it was not a good experience. I don't know where all those positive reviews come from but the one reviews that I saw this afternoon that had one star was on track with our lunch today. I ordered a Montreal club sandwich with added bacon and french fries. The fries were burned, and One side of was the heel of the bread. My husband, who wanted breakfast ordered a small plate breakfast with the extra egg. It came out on a very small plate, despite the extra egg and he too a piece of toast that was the heel of the bread. They are already closing down half of the restaurant when we got there and believe me they're focused was on closing down for the afternoon despite the fact that they still had until 3 o'clock to be open. This was an overpriced bad meal option for us both and I can only recommend that you try something else instead. The bathrooms were dirty and that always makes me wonder about the kitchen. Don't know if they still have Restaurant impossible on HGTV, but this would be a candidate as the place definitely is a makeover starting with the kitchen and moving into the front of house. read more

I ordered w marinara on side and no onion.. everything to the bread was perfection! The Parmesan crusted Bread was light and fluffy but dense enough for the fried chicken which was thin sliced and lightly battered crisp .. the bacon was thick crisp fresh and delish!! Glad I finally decided to stop in here! I've been missing out to say the least. Brunch options galore! I ordered the windmill with blueberry pancakes, eggs over medium and croissant, while my husband ordered the eggs Benedict w/ ham and a side of Canadian bacon. I enjoyed mine, as I got a little bit of everything. My only critique is the pancakes were too thick for my liking, and also a little undercooked in the middle. Also, was hoping for authentic maple syrup instead of American version. My husband really loved his eggs Benny, but would pass on getting the Canadian bacon if he did it again. As of my visits, Maple Bacon had only been open a little over a week, so I tend to excuse a lot of service issues. They're really trying hard, and when mistakes were made, they were rectified very quickly. The food is definitely worth it, so don't let the banter scare you away. On one visit, I ordered the fried steak and egg poutine, and what a delight! A very generous serving of fresh cut fries was nicely covered with brown gravy, horseradish mayo drizzle, chives, white cheese curds, and a requested over easy egg. Finally, long, slender steak fingers were fried to a deep golden brown and placed across the top. This dish was an absolute knockout. The steak fingers were well seasoned, with a very nice flavor and super tender texture; they would be great on their own. However, the true star of this show was the absolutely sublime brown gravy. I have no idea what's in it, but it's truly the best brown gravy I've ever tasted, and it was absolutely amazing in this dish. It's a must try. A subsequent visit brought one of their signature dishes, Canadian peameal bacon, with two over medium eggs, and waffles. Word of warning, it's definitely not bacon in the sense that most would understand, neither American nor Canadian. It was more like petite pork chops, quite thin, with a very subtle cornmeal coating, but definitely not battered or completely enrobed. It was tasty, no doubt, but if you've got a bacon itch, this might not scratch it. The thick Belgian style waffles were crispy and delicious, especially with a little butter and a drizzle of syrup. I've also sampled the French toast (nice, modestly sized thin slices of sourdough with a delicious egg coating, very good), biscuit (homestyle, a little overcooked, but very good), and strawberry lemonade cookie from the bakery case. The cookie was unexpectedly delicious, with a nice, chewy texture and great strawberry flavor, and the lemon portion represented with a bit of lemon curd in the middle. Very nice. There's also bar service here, and the Royal Maple Bacon cocktail (made with Coke Zero in lieu of the regular) was like a nicely enhanced Crown and Coke, until mixing in the creamy topping took it to the next level of yum. The Hipster didn't fare quite as well; it tasted like it wanted for something else from a flavor perspective. I think I'd have preferred a bit more Kahlua perhaps. Definitely check this place out. They have an expansive menu (with dishes for all three meals) from which even the most picky eater can find something s/he likes. read more

Sunday Funday!!! Yaaasss! One of my friends wanted to meet up for brunch and mimosas. I had maple bacon restaurant booked marked for quite sometime. This place is really popular with lines and crowds outside the door, however after we put our name in we only had to wait about ten min. Upon entering, the restaurant reminds me of your typical café. We sat at a booth and were immediately greeted by our waitress with a friendly smile, service gets an A+. Looking at all of the amazing dishes coming out I immediately started salivating everything looked amazing!
