Tried two plates and thoroughly enjoyed both. First we got the falafel plate which came with lettuce, pickled turnips, and pita and for the sauce and sides we got the Aleppo pepper sauce which reminded me of my favorite Thai chili paste, the dolmas which were okay, and the fattoush salad which I love because of the sumac flavor. The falafel was expertly cooked and was crisp on the outside yet tender on the inside. It's interesting that they poke a hole in the middle of the falafel. I've never seen that before. Seems wise as it helps the falafel cook evenly and thoroughly without having the outside get too browned. I'll have to try this the next time I make falafel at home! We would definitely order all these items again except for the dolmas it's a personal preference but I prefer grape leaves cold not hot. Overall very tasty meal and a good size serving. Second we got the chicken shawarma plate which came with rice and pita and for the sauce and sides we got tzatziki sauce which was excellent, hummus which we found too lemony in flavor, and tabbouleh which was very refreshing. The tabbouleh had way less bulgar wheat than we add at home and was mainly herbs which I loved. We also loved that the tabbouleh used scallions in lieu of white onion as the flavor was more subtle and balanced. Next time I made tabbouleh at home I'll be making it this way! Much more light and refreshing especially for the hot summer. We would order all these items again except for the hummus again that's a seasoning preference the texture was perfect. Again overall a very good meal and a good size portion. Prices are fair for the quality and protein portion sizes (falafel and chicken); however, we ran out of tzatziki and Aleppo sauce before we even started out second pita so perhaps the sauces could be refillable. We will definitely be back based on our first visit and look forward to trying the lamb and the desserts. read more

3. 0 stars I ordered the #2 Kofta Kabob plate. The food was good (not bad, but also nothing amazing) but they majorly skimped on the rice, which was disappointing considering the $12 + tax price tag. I would definitely opt to get something else when I visit the Packing House again. read more

This location is inside the Packing House. Quick takeout middle eastern food, featuring flavors mostly from Syria. The cheese borek is flavored nicely and has black sesame seeds inside. The meats are all marinated and cooked well... even after asking for the beef to be rare, it was still tender, which showed that they use high quality cuts of meat. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, I find they are constantly out of items like their grape leaves, pickled turnips, etc. However, the quality of the food, the speed of the service, and the ease of ordering has lead me to not take a star off for missing items that may or may not be outside of their control. read more

This place is a joke. Tables were dirty when no one was eating there. On top of that they were slow and had no excuse for having dirty tales. The food was disgusting. The humus taste like elmer glue paste no flavor at all. the salad dressing had no taste, the chicken was has no seasons and the rice as well. The pita bread was old and hard. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Mediocre at best. I don't know about these guys. I hadn't had a falafel schwarma in a while and was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately this did not hit the spot. The pita wrap was hard and stiff, kinda like leftover tortillas from last weekend. The flavor of the sauce was a bit off and a bit bland. I didn't count the falafel but the package was kinda skinny. Luckily I brought a bottle of Yellow Peep's brand Lemony Snicket Hot Sauce, which made it edible. read more

Trying out the top spots in the packing house. Something that definitely looked a bit of spice and a healthier side to it. My other got a chicken kabob plate. It came with rice, hummus, pita and a salad. The chicken was tender, but very small portion, the rice filled the plate more so. It was not bad, a good balance. But, definitely had better. read more

They pick favs over seating. Was waiting on a table (waiting for my friend to get there) before ordering and they told us that we had to move right when we were gonna order. It was no more than 4 minutes and never felt so disrespected. Left to a dining place!! read more

I tried this place out for dinner because it seemed like a healthier option than some of the other restaurants at the Anaheim Packing District and it did not disappoint! They gave great size portions too for a plate. The plate includes salad, pita bread, and chicken on top of the rice. read more

Service was good pretty quick for how busy it was. I ordered the chicken Shawarma wrap by itself. I always get super happy when I see you chicken Shawarma on the menu so of course I had to order that. The chicken Shawarma wrap it was OK. It had a good flavor, but not close to any chicken Shawarma I've had before. It almost tasted like they under seasoned it? I would recommend adding garlic fries, or some other type of fries like even season fries to the combo if you really wanted people to upgrade to the combo. read more

Terrible service and etiquette. We were ordering food to get a table when people who hadn't even been in line yet took a table. The employee did nothing and said nothing. We tried to take the chairs to another table the people and employee stopped us. At other establishments in this location you cannot sit until you order. On top of that the food that was ordered took forever to come out. When our food came out the people who took the table were sotting at 2 chairs and not using the other 3. While the food was decent, the service was ridiculous! I do not recommend coming somewhere where you will be disrespected, not listened to and basically ignored. read more

I ordered the chicken Shawarma plate and it was probably the best Middle Eastern food I've ever had! Food: The plate came with so much food so if your hungry this will definitely Fill you up. It came with a small side salad a side of really delicious hummus and pita bread and then a big portion of rice and chicken Shawarma then some yogurt to eat with the food. The chicken tasted so amazing I definitely recommend it over the kabob, it has so much flavor and wasn't dry at all. My friend ordered the mix and he didn't like the flavor of the beef. Price: I paid around 11 or $12 for the plate which I think is a pretty good price for that much food and since it's in the packinghouse where most of the food is overpriced. Location and service: it's towards the back of the first floor of the packinghouse and has seating around it so if it's not busy you can find somewhere really easily to sit and the entire location is really pretty to just sit and look at. The workers were also very nice and fast at making the food, the only weird thing is I went right after I ordered to ask for the Wi-Fi password and she just straight up told me you have to buy something first even though I literally just ordered from her but they ended up giving it to me so if you need Wi-Fi just ask for the password. read more

Should have checked the reviews before ordering. My mistake, I should know better. Ordered the chicken shawarma plate. Chicken was dry and I'm not sure what was up with the seasoning. Tasted like they over boiled the chicken and then rolled it around in some spice mixture. Super bland and extremely disappointing. The salad that came with it also had zero flavor. Hummus was stingy and rice was whatever. The pita that came with it was straight out of the bag and not even warmed up. For $14 I'd expect some flavor. Bottom line: save your money and go to Pita Hot instead. This place was not awesome. read more

I love middle eastern food but I was so disappointed with this place. I only ordered the shawarma fries from this place and, honestly, what a joke! A few things that made this experience and dish an awful one: (1) the dish was sloppily made and you could tell that the chef did not put any care into it, (2) there were ingredients added that were not described in the menu and because of this, I couldn't stomach the unanticipated flavor, and (3) the price for this (which included chicken though very sparse) was not worth it. read more

So delicious! The chicken was cooked perfectly and a great taste to it as long with the rice. The salad was really fresh and had a lemon taste to it. The humus was perfect and was the perfect amount of oil added to it. I would definitely recommend trying the plate 1 which is chicken. read more

We hadn't been here in a while and we noticed the old staff was replaced, turns out it's under new ownership and we noticed it right away in the way things were handled down from the order taking to the actual food. My wife and I used to come here often and she pointed out how the rude cashier wasn't here anymore. Asked the guy behind the counter and apparently it's all new staff which was a huge breath of fresh air. The food was great, the environment was relaxing and inviting. Before it felt like we were being judged just sitting there but the new guy was really cool and the strawberry lemonade was great. Can't wait to come back here. The chicken kabob combo is great and the spicy hummus is always just the right amount of spicy, very. Got a Perrier and mixed it with the strawberry lemonade, it was great as well. Definitely a great change and looking forward to coming here more often. read more

Such yummy food! We got the chicken and beef shawarma bowl with a side of tabbouleh and falafel. Everything was so yummy and so fresh! Middle Eastern food is one of my all time favorite kinds of food which makes me a little bit of a stickler for these types of places. The service was very quick and helpful. I give this place 4 stars rather than 5 because to me the beef shawarma was slightly dry especially in comparison to the chicken. Other than this the portions were very fair for the price and definitely large enough to share. The tabbouleh was very fresh and the falafel was perfectly cooked. We got a variety of sauces that went well with the falafel as well. Next time, I will have to try their hummus it looked delicious. read more

Nice family owned spot with delicious Syrian cuisine. The owner is friendly and hospitable. He cares about serving his customers. I had the chicken plate which includes hummus that they make fresh daily. All ingredients were fresh and tasty. I especially liked the baklava! I'm not sure why the rating for this place is lower than 5 stars. I can speak to my experience that they had Good prices and nice staff. I will come here again. read more

I will never eat here again, my experience was horrible to say the least. I ask them to put together a wrap with chicken red onion cucumber salad and tziki sauce and it comes with lettuce. But they only put the chicken and tziki sauce and cucumber salad (which is extra) So I asked them to add it. The guy who rang me up told the chef in the back and you can hear the chef yelling at the cashier that the cucumber salad has onion and lettuce in it. I'll post a picture for you to decide whether it has what I wanted on it or not. So unprofessional of the chef who I think is the owner. I feel so bad for the people who work for him. Don't eat here. The worst gyro wrap i have ever had. They barely put any meat in the wrap. So they basically charged me 13 bucks for the pita. I realistically can't give a proper review of their gyro because I barely tasted it. This place is just way too expensive for what they give. Honestly even if the prices were cheaper i still wouldn't go here. Save your money please don't go here. read more

Upon walking in it was pretty busy on a Sunday around 11:30am, we were seated immediately. As we were leaving, there were plenty of people waiting for a table. Food I was hoping to order a combination juju boat but the waitress taking our order mentioned the beef is out of stock so therefore we ordered the Juju chicken pide. The flatbread was cooked nicely, the dough was thin, every bite didn't feel too heavy. However the chicken was really dry and didn't feel like there was enough sauce/cheese, ended up putting some garlic sauce on top and it made it a little better. We also ordered the combination platter which came with lamb Kofte, beef/chicken kebab and two sides. We chose hummus and salad as the two sides and it paired well with the plate. The beef was a little dry but the Kofte and chicken were pretty good. They also served us two flatbreads which was nice for wrapping the meat and dipping in hummus. The hummus tasted very fresh and clean with delicate flavors, wish it had a little more tart. Side salad was simple and fresh with olive oil and lemon juice. The Kebbah was piping hot but didn't have much flavor, think it needed some sort of sauce. Overall, the ingredients tasted very fresh and minimalistic but definitely can do with a bit more seasoning or sauce for flavor. Service was friendly and not overly attentive. The servers didn't offer any water or drinks. Almost every table had tea so we flagged down someone to place an order after ordering our meal. There was a little mishap with our order but the owner came over to the table and cleared up the misunderstanding and asked us if we needed anything. Didn't seem like they had a lot of staff for such a busy morning. The space felt very clean and very lively with the lunch rush.

For context, I come from Egyptian heritage. I'm first-generation American, and both of my parents grew up in Cairo. The dishes I ordered -- Hawashy as an appetizer and Makaroni Bechamel (Bashmil) casserole -- are foods I grew up with. The last time I had this exact meal cooked for me by my mother was several years ago, so placing this order felt like a gamble, especially with the restaurant being all the way in Anaheim while I live in Irvine. That gamble paid off immediately. From the very first bite, the food tasted unmistakably authentic. The hawashy was deeply seasoned, rich, and comforting -- exactly how it's supposed to be, not watered down or adjusted for convenience. The makaroni bechamel was the real emotional gut punch in the best way possible. Creamy, savory, perfectly spiced, and layered the way it's done back home. It tasted like something made with care, patience, and respect for the dish. I'm not exaggerating when I say this meal hit me hard. After one bite, I literally called the restaurant just to thank them. I asked to speak to the manager and told him what this meal meant to me -- how it tasted like something my own mother would make, how it brought back memories I didn't realize I'd been missing. That call wasn't planned. It was instinctive. Huge shout-out to Zayne, the manager, who was incredibly kind and generous on the phone. He even sent along kunafa for dessert, which was the perfect ending to the meal -- warm, sweet, and beautifully made. Beyond the food itself, the packaging deserves real praise. Everything arrived hot, which is not easy, especially for a casserole like makaroni bechamel. Once that dish cools too much, it loses something important. This didn't. It arrived as if it had just come out of the oven, which speaks volumes about the care taken in preparing orders for delivery. This is not a 5-star review because of nostalgia or heritage alone. It's a 5-star review because the food was genuinely outstanding -- rich, decadent, comforting, and made the right way. It is very hard for me to say that something compares to my mother's cooking, but this truly came close. I cannot wait to come in person in the next few weeks. They brewed a pot of coffee and threw some mouth wash sized thin paper cups you get at the dentists to help ourselves instead of serving us with their ceramic cups. I know most don't add sugar and cream to Turkish coffee, but they didn't ask if we needed that or anything at all. Service was non existence . I've been here a few times in the past for their middle eastern pastry and spinach pies. I never felt welcome there for some reason, something in that extent. (Felt like we were ignored. I remembered now that's why I stopped coming here and started to go to Forn Al Hara down the street regularly with fresher and more delicious food and better customer service.
