Beef pita
Rosalba F.

post: Absolutely loved this place! I had the beef shawarma pita and it was so flavorful and fresh. The portions are very generous, and they definitely don't skimp on the meat. Everything tasted high quality and well seasoned. The service was also excellent and everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. You can tell they care about both the food and the customer experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

SimSim Shawarma House is located right next to Mar7aba (coffee and home made pastries) and has the same owners. Ordering is done at the counter at this casual restaurant and the inside is clean with comfortable seating indoors. They offer shawarma plates, pitas, falafel and schnitzel. I went with a mixed shawarma plate. All the food served here is HALAL. Mix Shawarma Plate ($16.99 + $1.50 for hummus) - The shawarma plate came with rice, chicken and beef shawarma and fresh veggies and sides to choose from. I went with hummus, garlic sauce, spicy garlic sauce, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, tzatziki sauce, pickled onions, onions, sweet cream cabbage, mint, pickled turnips, and arugula. I also went with some tahini sauce, house sauce, and pomegranate molasses. Overall the food tasted amazing, and each ingredient was so fresh. This place in terms of quality, food, and setup reminded me of one of my favorite restaurants, Sababa Falafel, except there was no crazy line here. I definitely will be stopping by here when I need my shawarma fix, and then will stop by next door to get a pistachio latte.

Located in a plaza on the corner of Brookhurst and La Palma you'll find a small and unassuming restaurant that serves up some of the tastiest shawarma in Anaheim. Enter the glass doors and you'll walk almost directly to the counter where you'll be greeted with a smile by friendly and welcoming staff. The menu is small which is nice making it simple. Once you place your order and pay at the counter you'll see a small dining area with a few tables. The decor is nice, simple, warm lighting, most importantly very clean. Let's get to the food. "What would you like?" We hoped to try out a beef and a chicken plate one each. It was 9:03pm when we arrived and being the end of the day unfortunately the chicken was already finished. "Beef shawarma it is." - Beef Shawarma Plate with everything. 4/5 Stars ***Add hummus - Beef Shawarma Pita 5/5 stars One thing for sure, it's fresh. The vegetables, the sides, the seasonings all make for an amazing flavor profile. My wife enjoyed the plate I had the pita wrap. Let's talk about the pita. This pocket of dough was just so nice. Slightly blistered, light, not thick, but still held everything together through each bite. My pita was perfectly packed. A well balanced proportion of veggies to protein ratio along with all the accompaniments. Every bite was delicious. Not a bite was missing any ingredients. End of your meal, you'll bus your tray. Be sure to thank the staff for an amazing meal. You can definitely taste the difference when folks have pride in their work and put love into the food. I'm definitely coming back, looking forward to another amazing Pita and trying everything else on the menu. The plaza was under a long renovation, might've been over a year nearly two. Finally completed, and I'm definitely glad it's become home to a new flavorful addition of Mediterranean food in Anaheim

Simsim recently opened, and I decided to try it after seeing it on my Yelp feed. I dropped in for lunch and had an excellent first experience. I walked in and was greeted by a kind gentleman (may have been the manager). The menu is simple. You choose among plates and pitas, then pick your protein, then choose among the fresh ingredients and sauces in front of you. You make it your way. I ordered the beef shawarma pita, chose my preferred ingredients, and then the flavorful, tender meat carved from the spit-roasted meat was carefully packed into the pita. It was very delicious and filling. I also ordered the fried veggies (seasoned eggplant and cauliflower). The veggies were nicely cooked, but not as crispy as expected. The gentleman (I wish I had gotten his name) also gave me a few sauces to dip in and add to my pita. For drinks, they offer some canned and bottled varieties, most of which I have never heard of, and I was intrigued. I tried the Freez Mix brand, and it was refreshing. I'll have to try another kind next time. The dining area is clean and spacious with tables and an inviting atmosphere. The staff was kind and prepared my order promptly. I can't wait to come back for another meal. The prices are a little high, but the quality is worth it. I spent $33 total for lunch. A nice treat once in a while. Wishing the best for this business.

A new shawarma spot just opened nearby, so I had to check it out. We arrived about five minutes before opening, and they kindly let us come in and sit while they finished getting ready. I originally wanted to try the falafel, but they told me it would take about 30 minutes to prepare. (They later apologized--the kitchen started a bit late today so the falafel wasn't ready by opening. I just happened to come on an off day :/ ). So instead, I got the fried veggie plate, which included fried cauliflower, eggplant, and fries. Note: The pita sandwiches come with hummus, but the plates don't--it's an extra $1.50. I usually go to Sababa in Stanton/Garden Grove for falafel pitas and pita sandwiches--it's been my go-to--but I think I may have found my new favorite place! The bread was incredibly fresh and delicious (they get it delivered from a bakery in Gardena every morning). My husband ordered the chicken schnitzel plate. The rice was flavorful, and the schnitzel was nicely breaded and well-seasoned. You HAVE to try their house sauce--it's kind of like a less sweet, tangier Thousand Island--and the pomegranate molasses sauce. Those sauces really make the dish. Overall, everything was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the place was very clean. I'll definitely be coming back! The only downsides: no high chairs for babies, no paper towels in the bathroom (though they do have a Dyson hand dryer), and no baby changing station. Still, I'm giving them 5 stars since they've only been open for three weeks.

Went here for the first time and staff were friendly and opening :) It's like chipotle style mediterranean food, you get to pick and choose your toppings. Food came out fresh and looked so colorful and it tasted amazing! Portion sizing was good, finish my plate feeling satisfied :D The inside of this place was so cute as well !

Beef Shawarma Plate @ SimSim Shawarma House

I've been here twice at this point - tried both the plate and pita version. I love the texture of the beef shawarma - best I've had. It's super tasty and I'll be back. I also I like the decor, it's modern and clean. Service is good - Shaymaa helped me with my plate today.

Mixed Shawarma Plate mix shawarma plate

I pulled up to SimSim Shawarma and tried their Mix Shawarma Plate, and it was honestly fire. Everything tasted fresh, well seasoned, and just done right. The spicy garlic hummus was the standout for me, easily one of the best I've had. Super flavorful with a nice kick but not too much. Definitely coming back, this spot is legit if you're craving some good shawarma.

We had the chicken and steak shawarma plates, the tabbouleh, the steak shawarma wrap. All were terrific, my personal preference was the chicken. Truly a good spot with tasty food and generous portions! We had one little mixup with one of our orders and it was fixed easily without question. They made it right completely. That speaks volumes about their customer service. Great spot, highly recommend!

It wasn't quite as good as I expected from the reviews, but it's decent for the amount of food you get and that rice! Premium Mixed Grill Plate -- 3/5 I liked the chicken the best out of the three. The beef kebab just tasted like regular ground beef to me and the lamb was overdone, which was a bummer. But the rice? Amazing. It was so fluffy and flowery. I would come back just for that rice. Shawarma Loaded Fries -- 2/5 I probably should have skipped these and just gotten another plate. It was kind of a sticky mess and the combo just didn't really work. You get a great portion of beef shawarma, but the raw onion, shredded cheese, and pickle slices felt like a really unusual combination. I usually love pickles in my Mediterranean food, but this just wasn't it for me.
