Happy hour plus dinner for 4 here last night. Able to park on the street right out in front which was a pleasant surprise. They have great happy hour prices, highly recommend it. We had a series of apps (see photos) and cocktails. The calamari and bruschetta were winners, the stuffed mushrooms not so much. Drinks were priced at about $10 for happy hour, and we were "happy" to consume several Mediterranean mules. We just wanted a small dinner so we ate in the bar, which is a very pleasant space. I just had the wedge salad which was a small portion, but the bleu cheese dressing was superb and the lettuce very fresh and crispy. We had a great time! Our server stopped by in a timely fashion to see what we needed but didn't bug us. Good job! Stopped in before going to the symphony. Mancuso's had just what the doctor ordered. Ambiance was nice. Soft. Not a lot of noise bombarding us. The stuffed mushrooms and calamari fritte were excellent starters. Entree's included Mama's paella, lobster fra diavalo, veal piccata and lasagna. Paella and fra diavalo were top notch, exquisite. Visited this restaurant for our friends birthday. Truly a wonderful experience. Thank you to the staff, and our waiters for helping out our party of 19. Service was great, very kind and even provided us helpful recommendations. We came here for the pasta, price range is from $20-30 but well worth as the portion sizes were large. There were many leftovers by the end of the night. I got the Shrimp capellini with tomatoes and angel hair pasta. It was a very tasteful dish a little on the peppery side with a light sauce that was all topped with some whipped ricotta. Very delicious and paired well the with complimentary garlic bread. As for dessert the waitress recommended the tiramisu and that also hit the spot. Perfect thing to end the night as it also wasn't too heavy and not too sweet. They also provided complimentary slices for the birthday celebrants! So sweet! Overall, it's a very nice ambiance to come visit for a fancier dinner and/or celebration for a loved one. read more

This was my first and only visit. 1. overpriced 2. received wrong salads from what was ordered... no explanation 3. asked for substitution of linguine for salad or vegetables with entree. told they would ask the chef. dinner arrived with linguine, no sauce, no acknowledgement of our request. what if I was gluten intolerant? 4. ordered two teas at and of meal... only one arrived. had to ask again and it arrived as we were walking out the door. Ambiance - Great, Service - Terrific, Food - We wanted it all to be amazing, but, my cannelloni tasted ok, but the meat was very dry inside. My husband said his veal parm was just ok. My brother and sister in law said something similar about their meals. We all agreed the red sauce was good but it didn't make up for the food it was poured over. Ok, the garlic bread was to die for. We ordered three different desserts. I chose the carrot cake. The cake was ok, but the frosting flavor was lacking. We purchased two roses that were nice and they lasted well into the next few days in a vase of water. The restrooms are clean and appealing. Another annoying thing is trying to find the front door to the restaurant when you are coming out of the parking garage. Not enough helpful signage. And don't get us started on the difficulty of the parking garage itself. Yikes! Anyway, it was a nice experience on the patio, but we won't be returning. We feel we paid too much for food that was seriously just ok. We had dinner the previous evening at a different restaurant that had amazing food at a much lower price. This place is great for a date night of family dinner. I love the second floor location. The interior is pretty. Service was great. Family and kid friendly. To start we had the lobster bisque which I thoroughly enjoyed. So creamy and tasty. My husband had the potato spinach soup. Which he enjoyed as well. They brought out a bread basket which was so warm, fresh and fluffy. My main course this time was the chicken marsala. I wasn't in love with it. But their food is great regardless. This was my first time visiting Mancuso's and it did not disappoint. The service was amazing. The staff is very polite and professional. There was never a moment that we had to waive down our server. She was always right on time. Now on to the food because I know that's what you're here for. I had the Chilean Sea Bass over linguini. The sea bass just melts in your mouth and it was seasoned to perfection. Highly recommend! My husband had the Filet and Lobster Tail. The picture doesn't do the lobster justice. I was surprised by the size of it. His steak was cooked to the perfect temperature and according to him, it was nice and tender. Great experience. Great food. Great service overall. I'm leaving this review in the spirit of being constructive and not to degrade. Just so disappointed that I felt compelled to do so. I went in with a friend last night , we were downtown for a concert and had reservations. We were promptly sat. I do not recall the servers name, but he was a young guy and did a good job, no complaints there. If we needed anything, he was quick. I just have to comment on the meal because I have always put this place on a pedestal, the food here has always been top notch. (And I'm Italian, grew up in Italian house with mom that can cook, I can cook and I know good Italian food). Last night was a stark contrast to what I remember, as I've been here numerous times. I ordered the wedge salad first. There was hardly any dressing on it, I asked for more and got watered down ranch. :( I ate it cause it's a $14 salad but it was meh. For dinner I ordered the gnocchi with meatballs. I got two sauces with it. The Alfredo and Marinara. They did a half/half on the plate. The gnocchi was overcooked, super soft and fluffy. Just not what I expected at all. The Marinara was extremely sweet. No idea what they put in it to make it that sweet but it ruined it for me. And then to top it off, the sauce was lukewarm. The meatballs weren't bad. Tight and a little tough but tasted good. My friend got the shrimp linguine and liked it. We also ordered drinks, I got two and they were so weak I barely tasted the alcohol. I'm positive they watered them down. My friend got two gin and tonics. $90 for 4 cocktails, overpriced!. Could barely detect the alcohol in them. Neither of us got dessert cause we were in a hurry to get to the concert. The bill was $200. I just wasn't blown away like I usually am. I'm not saying I will never go back, but I'm disenchanted with them now. The quality of that meal was just NOTHING as I remember. Was at the Convention Center for a couple of days and ended up at Mancuso's twice (once at the bar and once at a table). It's a very nice restaurant with excellent cocktails and good food. I liked everything I tried though the "healthy" paella was a contradiction in terms (as in Mancuso's version was surprisingly healthy when I was expecting an oily calorie bomb). We decided to try mancuso's for New Year's Eve! I made a reservation for 7pm. However my GPS took me to the back of the building and the elevator was down. So I called to find out how to get to the front. I spoke with a VERY curt woman on the phone who while trying to guide me was short and slightly rude..when we finally got inside, my partner approached her and gave our names, she WAVED us to the side and assist the group behind us. One thing I cannot stand is being dismissed. Not a "how are you this evening" not even a "hello" I felt like I was bothering her.. We were seated and I must say the atmosphere gives a nice old world charm feeling, with dim lights and dark woods. We ordered the butternut squash ravioli for an appetizer and it was delicious! The sauce was great and the ravioli wasn't too sweet. Our server was pleasant until the end.. he disappeared and I watched him spend amble time with another table but never came back to check on us. We were ready to go and sat with plates of cold food in front of us for well over 30 minutes. We weren't offered bread or dessert. While the table behind us was presented with a platter of options. I ordered the shrimp and scallop scampi and it was absolutely amazing! My partner had the vegetarian paella and it was just ok. I wish they had more vegetarian options. *Restaurant Week* Update: I always try to visit at least two new restaurants during Restaurant Week, and this year has been so different. (Lots of places have take out options for those of you not ready to dine in.) If you have not been to Mancuso's, make a plan to go there now! We wanted to celebrate my Dad's birthday, but I also have to be careful due to their age and other considerations. Saturday we chose Mancuso's to celebrate his birthday after hearing of the precautions they are taking. They had an amazing menu with price points at $33, $44 and $50. You could also order from the main menu and my guy did that. My mom, dad and I ordered from the three-course $33 menu. My parents enjoyed the Caesar salad and filet mignon. I selected the Wedge salad and Chicken Marsala. My guy chose the gnocchi and meatballs from the main menu. We also tried an exceptional stuffed mushroom appetizer that was stellar. The entrees were big stars but the side of risotto was a surprise mega star! Our server, Jeffrey W. Was outstanding and personable. The support staff were also awesome, promptly topping off our water and clearing dishes. Nothing was left unattended and the entire experience was outstanding. So we are three days into Restaurant Week and I urge you to try someplace new, if your budget allows. COVID has forced us all to be so careful but our great restaurants need your support. We had dinner tonight before going to a show, and it was lovely. Our server was very nice and attentive. The food and cocktails were good were good . . . I loved the escargot! The ambiance is also very nice. Our server boxed our food for us (really large portions), which I always think is a great touch at nicer places, but, oddly, I noticed another server just dropping off the containers and bags at her tables for customers to to do it themselves. Catching up with a friend over dinner which turned into just drinks and (lots of) appetizers. Some good twists on classic cocktails. Very good appetizers - especially the meatballs with risotto. I'm not always a fan of risotto, but this was excellent. Staff were wonderful, watch for when we needed something but never hovering over us. Nice space that I think is better with the wall open to outside seating (but it was 109 outside so best not to be outside. Highly recommend! read more

We visited Mancuso's on a Monday (holiday) evening for a birthday-related dinner. Reservations had been made a couple of weeks in advance (though they had tables still available, given that it was an off-night). I'd expect reservations would be needed for any weekend. The only real problem we had related to the dinner was finding the restaurant. Their website directs you to a parking garage on Washington Street, which we found; it is in the heart of what appears to be the area of downtown devoted to sports venues and entertainment (and banking). From there, things got harder though. Here is my advice - when you enter the parking garage, descend the ramp and turn left. Go as far as you can in that direction (to the 2nd set of enclosed stairs / elevator). That is actually the set that take you up to the 2nd level above the street, where the restaurant is located. We ended up climbing stairs, asking people in a condo lobby, then going outside and ascending more stairs and blundering into the place. They could really do with better instructions, signs, etc. It would be easy to find on a 2nd visit, but is difficult on a first visit. Once inside, things improved markedly. Our waiter was attentive, we got drinks and bread fairly quickly, and their menu selection of steak, seafood, and pasta was extensive. The only thing that I did not realize was that the steaks did include sides (which is becoming non-standard, I thought) so I ordered a small salad as well. I enjoyed it but might have skipped that if I'd understood about the sides. As the dinner was birthday-related, the guest of honor received a complimentary half-portion of dessert. The other two split a separate dessert. Both were good (one chocolate, one lemon). If I were local to the area and was looking for a special occasion place, I'd definitely consider a return visit. read more

One of my favorite restaurants downtown! Parking in general downtown is a bit spotty so just note that. The oysters here were GREAT. They had much flavor and the breadsticks were also tasty with the oil/vingeareatte mix. I ended having the Chicken Parm with risotto and Brussel sprouts. I really enjoyed my meal. My Brussel sprouts usually are crispier but I did really like these sprouts! Chicken Parmigiana was great as well, I would add some parley/oregano on the actual chicken itself instead around the whole dish. Risotto was cooked perfectly, I have had overcooked risotto in the past and it wasn't pleasant so this was great. Overall, nice restaurant was a great ambiance and great decor. I'll start by saying something positive and that is the portion was very generous. I could have split it with another person. That being said, the capellini pomedoro was dry and the tomatoes looked like they came straight out of a can with no flavor. The cheese they put on top was bland too. Well, I'm typing this as we are leaving the restaurant. The 1 star isn't because of the service of ambiance. The 1 star is 100% because of the food. Went there tonight with a group of 6 people. From the salads that were very skimpy for the price to the entrees that were covered in too much sauce and way too salty we were disappointed. The Pork Chop, w/ gorgonzola mash (over powering) and veg (poorly prepared and brussels sprouts not cooked enough) were awful. Also another person said that their chicken picatta was too lemony and the sauce too thick. Another said their Rigatoni Bolognese was dry and boring. All in all everything was just average at best.
