People have been telling me about Manaow for years. Now I understand why. It's just really good Thai food for a really fair price. I came for lunch on a weekend. They have a regular menu, a lunch menu, and a "taste of thailand set menu". Most of the "set menus" were around $25 and they came with 2-3 dishes. Went with their Chiang Mai set, which came with Khao Soi with shrimp, crispy pork belly, sticky rice, and some pickled vegetables. I really appreciated that the flavors of these dishes were assertive, that we didn't really have to ask them about spice levels, and the balance on the dishes were perfect. I also ordered a "moo ping" (pork skewer) appetizer plate, which came with sticky rice and sauce. It's a delicious appetizer. Skewer was Sweet, tangy, and meaty and the sticky rice was chewy. I'd highly recommend it. I love that, with their set dishes, they give you the opportunity to taste a few items from various regions of Thailand for a really reasonable price. Will definitely be back very soon!

From the food, ambiance, and service 10/10! Staff paid very great attention to us and made sure we had everything to enjoy our food. The crispy pork was great along with its side veggies. Recommend all the sets!!

Food is great, authentic and consistent! Came in for their lunch sets this time and the portions are amazing for $25 you get a little bit of everything in a full size order. While service is friendly and great, docking a star for the wait... there's always a decent wait when dining in (pick-up is better!) but today in particular was a little too much. Walked in at 11:15 (they open at 11 and we were the first there), our food was served at 12:15pm.. 1hr is the longest wait we've had over at Manaow. Might be a random bad day but definitely took away from a "quick lunch" experience.

A cute cozy Thai gem in LBC. The place looks small on side but it was a decent size inside with a warm vibe to it. Nicely decorated. The ambiance is a bit loud on the night we dined it. They have a big selection of Thai dishes with your common comfort food. Being Hmong, I noticed a lot of familiar dishes. The food was flavorful, well balanced, and flavorful but small portions. Staff were a bit slow at times but still friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit tight but there's also street parking. I really liked the drink sampler teas, that was awesome and the drinks all tasted good, and we were able to pick one that we get a full serving. Overall, food and drinks were a bit pricy, but worth it! We will come back again if in the area.

Lots of menu options

Tried this place on a Tuesday evening and was seated quickly. The food took a bit of time to come out but it was super yummy. The herbed fish was flavorful and unique. The portions and prices were pretty standard. The menu had lots of options and the parking was decent considering it's near the beach and other establishments. The interior was really cute and spacious. I enjoyed the southern style curry noodles and my friend enjoyed the green curry. My only note is that the next day I was eating my leftovers and there was a piece of plastic in it. I don't know how it got in there but it was quite alarming. Hoping that was just a random fluke because this is a nice Thai spot.

Limeade so goooooood.

FEAST FOR TWO! From the North and South Noodles to the (requested) North extra fried chicken wings, Succulent fried fish that was dry at all and the fried pork with two sauces while all washed down with a refreshing drink... This place was actually amazing! Tucked off in a tiny strip mall, my cousin told me I had to try this place and it didn't disappoint. My server as well let me know his recommendations as he started with the first "popular" but I had to shut that down for only authentic and not what everyone eats. I'm not a fan of sweet things so most of my meal I had opted for the fishy salty garlicky with a hint of spice! Definitely be coming back when im out this way a couple blocks from the beach.

Manaow is one of many Thai restaurants in Long Beach and has been around since 2014. The restaurant was started by the mother-daughter team and the interior decor is very vibrant. [Parking]: There's actually a designated parking lot for the restaurant which is a rarity in this part of Long Beach (Belmont Heights). [Menu]: Yelp's top 3 highlights are your classic Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Drunken Noodle. Our waiter also recommend Northern Style or Southern Style Curried Noodles. In addition, Manaow also offers a drink sampler for $10 (a miniature flight of Manaow's most popular beverages including Thai iced tea with cream, Thai iced coffee with cream, limeade, lemongrass tea, and tamarind juice). They also offer unique dishes like Artichoke Curry, Roasted Duck Curry, and Thai snacks & street food. *** Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mao - stir-fried rice noodles, ground chicken, fresh garlic, bell peppers, jalapeno, fresh chili, fish sauce, and basil - mild spicy, $14): To my surprise, mild spicy had about 75% spicy level as Sriracha. The noodle tasted good and I cleaned up the entire plate. *** A solid 4.5-star on food and bump up to 5-star due to convenient parking.

This is not only possibly the best Thai place that I've tried outside of Thailand, but one of the best food joints I've been to in a long time. We got the grilled shrimp as an appetizer and it was a 100% the best shrimp that I ever had. Couldn't figure out what was different about it but it was from gods :) Everything in the set menu was also great - I got the Southern Thailand set, which at the time came with a mussels Panang Curry and the mussels were huge, I've never seen anything like that. The curry was great and so was the chicken. It also came with roti bread, I had no idea that Thai people make bread. The service was friendly and attentive, but maybe make sure you are not starving when you come here as it did take us about 20 mins to get seated and extra 30 mins to get our food - totally worth it though!

I really enjoy coming to Manaow -- the food is consistently flavorful, well-executed, and satisfying. I was a bit surprised to see some negative reviews, especially around "authenticity." As someone who is Thai and has brought visiting family here, we've all genuinely enjoyed the flavors. It's always interesting how people define what "authentic" Thai food should be. We've been a few times now, and some of our go-to dishes include the Moo Daad Diew (pork jerky with crispy rice) and Som Tum (papaya salad). On our most recent visit, we ordered the jerky, Tom Kha with Chicken, Mieng Pla Tod (herbed fried fish), Pork Belly with Fish Sauce, Kana Moo Krob (Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly), and Kao Phrik King with Chicken. Everything was delicious, but the standouts for me were the herbed fish and the Kana Moo Krob -- though I wouldn't have minded slightly larger cuts of pork belly. (Not a big deal.) My partner loves the lemongrass iced tea, while I usually go for oliang (Thai iced coffee without milk). They also offer a drink sampler, which is a nice touch if you want to try a few options. One unique feature I appreciate is the Archarn Chood -- set menus inspired by different regions of Thailand. The Bangkok set is solid, but I especially enjoy the Southern and Northern options (I'm a big fan of Hat Yai fried chicken). The ambiance strikes a great balance between modern and rustic, with thoughtful decor that nods to Thai agricultural life. My dad is from Ayutthaya, so seeing elements like traditional farming tools was a nice, personal touch. While places like Chiang Rai get a lot of attention (and deservedly so), Manaow feels more like a neighborhood gem -- less crowded, more relaxed, and consistently good. Friendly staff, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a spot I'm always happy to return to.

Pad Thai
Myra F.

Came to Manaow for lunch and it did not disappoint. We tried the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and the Tom Yum noodle soup -- all three were super fresh and full of flavor. The Pad Thai had that perfect sweet-savory balance, the Pad See Ew had great wok flavor and tender noodles, and the Tom Yum noodle soup was honestly my favorite... spicy, bright, and comforting. Everything tasted clean and well-seasoned, nothing overly salty or oily, which I appreciate. Their lunch specials are also such a steal -- generous portions and really reasonable prices for the quality. Our server was friendly and attentive, and parking was easy since it's in the shopping center. Definitely one of those spots you walk out of thinking, "Okay... when am I coming back?" Fresh food, good prices, and overall a really solid Thai lunch spot. Highly recommend.

Our son's girlfriend recommended this great place. We ate there with some friends and we were all glad we did. It is located in a little shopping plaza and is very unassuming. We walked in and were greeted warmly. They prepared our table and we were seated right away. We noticed the modern and nice interior immediately. The spring rolls were recommended so we ordered those right away. Our friend was very intrigued by the menu so it took him quite a while to decide. Our waitress was very patient and answered all of our questions. My husband and our friend ordered Lemongrass Tea but I ordered the flight of 5 different drinks. I actually enjoyed each one but chose the Thai Iced Tea with cream to order. My husband also tasted some of the flight and ordered the Thai Iced Coffee. With the flight you also get to order a full drink. My husband and I are traveling so we split the Pineapple Fried Rice. Our friend who took awhile to order chose the Tofu Curry, his wife ordered the Tiger Steak. We all enjoyed our meals immensely! We decided to split the Mango Coconut Rice (I think that was the name). After our delicious meals it was the perfect end to the meal with plenty to share.

Celebrated 2 dear friends birthdays this past weekend. This place was recommended and love that they have good reviews and local. The food was delicious so tasty and had some good heat. The wait staff were patient with us since it was some of our first time here. The restaurant is located in LBC in a strip mall.. once you walk in it's pretty spacious and inviting and gives a family feel

Manaow Thai is a cozy gem. The place is small but has a warm vibe. The ambiance is a bit loud. The food was flavorful, well balanced, and flavorful but small portions. Although it was very busy, the service was quick and efficient.

How spicy is the curry for someone who cant handle spice?

It's not very spicy, but that's coming from a person who loves spice. The good thing is you can ask them to make it spicy or mild or no spice at all.

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / June 8, 2023

There is some outdoor seating. It's not heated & you're by the parking lot. The tables I saw were small, maybe for 2 - 4 people at most. There are much larger tables inside, including long benches for larger groups.

How do you order take out? They never answer the phone.

I'm certain they forget what a phone ring is, considering they are all on their cell phones..

Do they deliver?

Yes through Postmates.

Tom Kha - loved the straw mushrooms that use in it!! The chicken was tender and perfect. Yellow Curry - delightful. Never had jackfruit before so it was interesting having that in the curry, but it looks like chicken, just a gummier texture. Flavor and spice of the curry was great. Loved the bogo free deal! Pineapple Fried Rice - good but a little too spicy for my liking which is my fault for picking level 3 spice, but the container was packed to the brim, making it worth the money. Every dish we've tried has been full of flavor and genuinely worth ordering. Surprisingly, compared to other Thai spots, it's usually not overly packed and honestly I'm almost scared to say that because I don't want it to change. The service has always been great, the food comes out quickly, and the portions/prices feel reasonable. So far, our favorites have been the pad see ew, tom yum soup (medium spice), egg fried rice, fried calamari and the beef BBQ which was so good we immediately ordered a second plate. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.

The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. Great food, clean restaurant, and strong customer service. I'd definitely come back. The service from the main owner/manager (female) was by far the rudest I've experienced at this restaurant. When ordering, we were simply trying to explain how we wanted our dish prepared. For certain Thai dishes, there's a big difference between something being fried versus crispy, and we were trying to make sure it was prepared the same way we had ordered in the past. While we were speaking with another server to clarify the order, the manager stepped in, took over the conversation, and rushed the order through right after she clocked in. It felt very dismissive and like we weren't being listened to at all. When the dish came out, it wasn't what we had asked for. When we politely asked how we should properly word the order so it could be made correctly, she became visibly upset instead of simply explaining it. She then took the dish away, and no replacement was offered--nor was there any apology for the misunderstanding. I completely understand that restaurants have many customers to attend to, but we are paying customers as well. After years of making the drive here for a good meal, this experience was extremely disappointing. Sadly, this interaction cost you a loyal customer, and I will not be recommending this location anymore. As far as the ambience, they have no TVs that works, no music playing during dinner, and top it off- There's a huge leak over the bar area coming from the ceiling.

They have a good selection of options so there's likely going to be something for everyone. Highly recommend the Thai boat noodles - the broth is very rich and flavorful, definitely in my top 5. I will say that service can be very inconsistent. From my more recent experiences (multiple visits across the last year or two), I noticed a pattern where the servers are quick to seat you and take your order, but then you don't hear from them again until you flag them down (if you need anything or want to get the check, for example). I'm not saying that check-ins throughout the meal are required, but they would be nice gestures. Also having to wait around to contact a server just to pay can be a bit inconvenient... The ambiance is nice, it has modern decorations and there's a good amount of interior seating. I will add that it's mostly street parking in the front but they have a small parking lot in the back, including a rear entrance. Overall, good food, 50/50 service, still would come back.

When I got home, what I received was not Pho at all -- dark broth, fully cooked beef, extremely salty, and honestly one of the worst soups I've tasted. I called back and they admitted they "don't serve Pho." So I drove BACK to return it and request a refund. They told me the refund was placed back on my card. A week later? Nothing. I called today to politely explain that I still had not received the refund. At no point did anyone apologize, take responsibility, or attempt to make the situation right. Instead, I was told it was somehow MY fault. After wasting time, gas, and money on multiple trips, I simply asked them to show basic customer service and make it right somehow. Their solution? A 10% discount. Not compensation. Not accountability. Not even empathy. Just the same promotional discount businesses already build into pricing. When food costs are outrageous, gas is expensive, and people are struggling, basic compassion matters more than ever. Eventually, after explaining how frustrating this was, they agreed to comp a meal and told me to come in. So I drove ANOTHER 15 minutes. Once I arrived, they completely changed their story and denied the meal they had promised -- back to offering 10% off. No apology. No ownership. Nothing. And honestly? The food wasn't even worth fighting over. The soup was so salty I nearly got sick after a few bites. This isn't just about one bad meal. It's about businesses thinking customers should quietly accept being dismissed, inconvenienced, and treated unfairly. Customer service matters. Integrity matters. Doing the right thing matters. Long Beach deserves better. Stand up for yourselves and support businesses that actually respect their customers.

The veggie spring roll tasted fresh and the sauce added a nice layer of flavor. Off the bat, the portion sizes for the tom yum and pad thai were VERY generous (from my experiences with Thai restaurants). The pad thai stood out and was absolutely delicious! The service did great with helping us out and attending to our requests. The ambiance was relaxed, and where we sat in the back was cool because there was upbeat music playing loud enough to muffle the surrounding sounds but still soft enough to have conversation at our table without needing to raise our voice. Overall, I'm glad I gave S T Noodle Bar a try! I'd recommend it!
