This place was really good. I found them on Yelp (of course) while on our way into the inner harbor. Staff was super friendly and attentive. I ordered the Maryland Crab Soup and Clams Casino. The soup got really spicy in the end. I liked that they just put crab meat on top so there is no searching for it. My clams casino were fantastic and Came on a bed of rock salt. They have indoor and outdoor seating. If i lived in the area, I would be sure to come often. read more

This place is great. Cute neighborhood, nice atmosphere without being stuffy. Service was attentive and friendly. Love love love the Orange Crush. The Key Lime Crush was also good but not as good as the Orange... that fresh squeezed juice is sooo good. The food is also really good. We tried the Coddies which were fun. The crab cake sandwich was good... lots of lump crab, very little filling on a really fresh roll. I would go back again for more Orange Crushes and try something else. OH - also, the fiancée loved the Blue and Blue. fresh shucked oyster with PBR. read more

Great food. Not great service. Had a party of 8, business dinner. Waitress was MIA most of the night. Maybe had too many tables , not sure. Had to flag her down multiple times for drinks and other items. One meal came out 10 minutes after all others. Would try it again but just not with a big party read more

Outstanding! An absolute "must do" in Baltimore. I will weep tomorrow morning when I realize there is no ETA on the next time I will get to eat the Bouillabaisse from here. The tuna tartare and orange crush are also too good to miss! read more

Food is delicious, I ordered the crabcake sandwich! Due to covid we chose outside seating and the service was great!

Enjoyed this city eatery - great menu - awesome soup - great cocktails - very good service and well managed - even when busy kitchen serves quickly - parking not too bad - make sure you order a Key Lime Crush if you are a drinker who enjoys sweet mixes. read more

We were a group of 8 on a Saturday night--this was the best restaurant experience I've had in years. We were told there would be a 45 minute wait, and were seated in about 40 minutes. We ordered most of the appetizers, and they were promptly brought to the table when they were ready. The grilled oysters, calamari, and the scallops were excellent and the tuna tartar was the best I've ever had. For entrees, members of our group had an oyster po' boy, Mama's classic salad, a salmon special, a duck special, and a couple of the classic combo platters. All were outstanding, as were the drinks. Our waitress was outstanding, friendly and helpful when we were ordering. We will definitely be back. read more

Mama's was super busy on Mother's Day. Nevertheless, our server Jimmy made us feel welcomed and took time to check on us even though the place was packed. He was even super patient with my grandfather, who can be a difficult person to work with! The oysters are phenomenal and so was my burger-- can't wait to go back. read more

Autumn was an amazing server. We came randomly & she recommended food that we loved. The beer mussels were incredible, the oysters were straight off the boat(sweet petites). We ordered steak & shrimp rice off the specials menu per Autumns request & it was delicious. It was an awesome experience overall, great service. read more

My favorite place to go get a exceptional seafood meal. Mussels, chicken Chesapeake, crab cakes, everything is YUM! The cocktail list goes on forever and the service is phenomenal. The food was ok. (Crab cake and the crab dips). The service is just a joke. Didn't get my utensils and napkin until I asked. It's not even a busy day. ( Monday night ) the yelp rating here is just outdated. read more

My favorite place to eat in Baltimore! Everything I've ever had at this restaurant has been delicious. Although the very best dish I've had was the juevos rancheros for brunch. In fact when friends come to visit, I insist we eat here. I know it's not much of a review to read if there aren't much negatives, but I seriously love this place. My only gripe is that the seating is pretty packed as it's not a huge place but it's well worth it to have to be a bit cramped considering how great the food is. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon with my g/f after an Orioles/Indians game. I like the atmosphere here. Downstairs is the bar area, outside are some tables along the street corner. We actually sat upstairs...which was a more relaxed atmosphere. Not to loud here...a good place for a date, family, or just gathering with some friends. The main reason we came here was for the oysters. We started off with a dozen of them. Yes! These were very good. For my main course I got the crabcake sandwich with a side salad. The crab was excellent. Big chunks broiled together...great combination. The salad was good (of course it's kind of tough to screw up a salad). Anyhow, I would recommend this place to anyone if you're in Baltimore and want to come to the Fells Pt/Canton area....this is a place worth check ing out. read more

The mac n cheese is the best I ever had. I had the combo but it was to rich and too oily. next time i will probably order shrimp or soft shell crabs. The ambiance outside was quiet and relaxing read more

Food was absolutely amazing.... We had the crab cakes and Mac and cheese. Love them!!!!! Experienced horrible service by one of the girls. We asked for time between the appetizer and main course. We got it within min of one another. Not even enough time to take a bite! Another server bought all our food while she talked and unbuttoned her shirt on the stairs at another girl. Yes, it happened. We will be back, and will be sure we have a different server! All the other servers were friendly and clearly were on top of their game! read more

One of my favorite spots in Canton. Mama's is perfect for a date or for a weekend brunch. The upstairs dining room is so cozy in the winter and outdoor seating is perfect in summer. The chicken Chesapeake and stuffed shrimp are both fantastic. I also love the crab cake sandwich for lunch. The one downside is that it is ALWAYS busy so the service is usually slow. Worth the wait, though! read more

I would like to share my personal experience with the following customers and potential customers . Today 4/16/14, I wanted to surprise my aunt for her birthday and boy did she get a wonderful surprise! My aunt and uncle are out of town guest from Buffalo, New York and I could have taken them to any establishment in Baltimore but I chose this restaurant because it was my favorite restaurant. However, I will no longer support this business. Prior to my aunt placing her order, she specified to the waitress that she was allergic to mayonnaise and can not consume any because it will make her sick. The waitress repeated my aunt's request and she also stated that she will make sure that the kitchen knows this. Know what happens? My aunt eats a sandwich that had mayonnaise on it. At first she didn't notice it because it was not a lot and she trusted that the staff got it right. After eating half of a half of a sandwich my aunt immediately fell sick. She had to be rushed to the restroom by her husband and myself and once in the ladies room she started regurgitating and sweating. After she cleaned herself up, she complained to the waitress. The waitress immediately apologized and brought my aunt a new sandwich. My aunt did not get upset and stated that mistakes occur. My aunt did not get to enjoy her birthday lunch because she was sick and the new sandwich was brought to her when we were ready for the check. Here is my issue, my aunt asked to speak to the manager. The manager dressed in a t-shirt and flip flops took about 20 minutes to come to the table to address the mistake. He asked could he please see the sandwich that was remade. He proceeded by opening up the sandwich and " stated I don't see mayonnaise here. I am sorry that you got sick but we corrected the situation by remaking your sandwich and we will not be doing anything else because we corrected the error". He also stated that he did not have the power to comp a meal because it was a small business and it was not in their budget". In my opinion, the manager did not correct the restaurant's error in a proper and professional manner. To properly correct the restaurant's error, her $15 sandwich should have been on the house. Please note, we did not have an issue with paying the bill. In fact, it was my treat to my aunt, uncle, and mother for my aunt's special day. The manager definitely had displayed poor judgement and customer service in this case. I feel in my heart that if we were Caucasian, the manager would have done everything in his power to correct this situation properly and make her happy. Due to this misfortune, I will no longer support this business and I will make sure that I spread the word through social media, Yelp, and restaurant.com along with other restaurant's reviews site. Baltimore is known for their plethora of great eats and I did not have to select this establishment to dine. Moreover, I am VERY disappointed. Even though the management was poor we did have a great server and I was pleased with her service and this is why she received a $20 dollar tip off of a bill that total $91.32. I apologize for the errors, I can not go back and edit with my phone. I'm waiting for a new replacement. I thank you for taking your time to read about my experience today. Thank you, Kelly read more

Everytime I go to Mama's it never disappoints me! The food is amazing and so is the service. You have to try an orange crush, the fresh squeezed juice and ice is what makes it! My go to meal is always the crab cakes. My three favorite apps are the Tuna tar tar, the Calamari, and the wings. The fish and chips was huge! Very delicious as well. Everything is good, give it a try (: read more

First time here and I would come back in a heartbeat. Sat at the bar for HH. You can't beat the service or the prices on the oysters. For that matter any of the HH specials. Folks behind the bar were phenomenal. Excellent service, good to give a recommendation, and the beers were on point. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

Cute little shop in downtown Baltimore! They serve 5 different types of oysters there, though we only tried 3 types. We also order the bacon wrapped steak, but I wasn't a big fan of it. It was too dry and oily. The seafood chowder was pretty good expect for the shrimps which were over cooked (super dry and hard to swallow). Overall I would come again but only for the oysters :) read more

For some reason my wife and I hadn't been there in a few years though we visited often in years past. When we stopped in today, we wondered why we hadn't been there. She had the crab dip, which she said was exceptional and the potato skins with seafood, which we shared. I had the outstanding Titanic salad and a crab cake sandwich. The crab cake was solid. She also had the Moscow Mike, which she said was mixed well. As a non meat eater, she found plenty of choices, which isn't always the case. At first, service seemed slow, but it turned out to be attentive. It's nice to have an old friend back in the rotation. read more

They have the best crushes ever! Mixed well with both mixer and vodka! Great appetizers and meals!!! I love this place

RESTAURANT WEEK! I wanted so badly to absolutely love this place after the raving reviews. Took my lady out to try the special restaurant week menu and.. unfortunately sadly unimpressed. The oysters for the first course was probably the best thing, and they were raw. The New Orleans style shrimp were over cooked and the baguette turned to mush due to the sauce it was covered in. I got the surf n turf with filet and shrimp, filet was cooked PERFECT. The shrimp on the other hand, over cooked again and the carrots were under and crunchy. My lady got the beef short rib, dry and over cooked with UNDERcooked carrots. For the last course we both got the bread pudding, subpar. Hard and crunchy and overwhelming tasted of bourbon from the bourbon sauce. The service was excellent, expeditious and on point. Maybe it was just the restaurant week menu that failed tonight? read more

Came to the east coast to support my dad for the cherry blossom race. We came to Baltimore for an Oriole's baseball game! My dad made reservations and I was really excited for some good seafood. However the waitress seemed to be unhappy to be there which brought my mood down. I moved on and we were deciding between oysters, clams, or muscles. I told the waitress and she just looked at us and said, "the muscles are good, the clams are good, the muscles are good." I was looking for more of a suggestion between the three. So we decided on the oysters and she gave us this folded up menus of the different types. I asked her what's popular and she said the blue point oysters and another choice but didn't explain why so we ended up picking the blue point oysters for no reason except that they were popular -- but she didn't explain why, etc. and what our other options were. Food was tasty! I loved the green beans. Overall it was good food but I wish the servers were more optimistic and welcoming while knowing the restaurant's menu. read more

Well, I've tried to come to this place three different times and it has always been full. I kept on trying because I was curious about what the fuss was all about. After officially eating here I can say that the food was "ok", personally I think that they are over priced for the amount and quality of food you are getting in return. The server was nice and professional but the food was not all that. I would probably do a better job cooking it at my house and save the $125 I paid for two people for mediocre food. read more

Last Saturday I finally got to check out Mama's On The Half Shell. I've heard a lot of good things about this place so I definitely had high expectations in concerns to their food. Well long story short the food that I tried was just not good. I went with my family so I tried a little bit of everything they order too. So, let's start with what I ordered. I got their Salmon BLT which had blackened salmon, bacon, lettuce, tomato and their roasted garlic aioli. Sounds like it would be winner right? Well, you would be incorrect. It literally tasted like nothing, the best thing about it was the bacon lol. The "aioli" they used was literally just mayo lol. The salmon itself lacked flavor too. It's definitely not worth the $13 we payed for it . Your can get a way better salmon sandwich from Neopol Savory Slokery in Belvedere Square for $4 cheaper! I also tried my mom's Seafood Club sandwich which has a crab cake, shrimp salad, lettuce, tomato, bacon and cheese on it. The Seafood Club was $17, but the flavor didn't match the price. You could probably get the same thing from the Northeast Market for a lot cheaper . Everything else was meh, and not worth the time writing about it lol. I will end on a positive note though. The atmosphere upstairs is really nice. They even have a fire place! However, downstairs is your typical bar theme. read more

A good restaurant with huge portion size; however, be prepared to wait an hour or so for dinner (especially on the holidays). If you want to make a reservation, be sure to make it 25 hrs ahead. Contrary to many reviews, there were plenty street parking (on Labor Day weekend). We started with seafood chowder which was good. It had lumps of meat, shrimp, and scallops. We ordered raw oysters: Rockpoint, CA - which was fresh tasting and light in brininess ($3; great!) and then the Chincateague, VA was meaty and briny (1.50; for those who like that taste though slightly too briny for me). Boubillabaisse was huge and a rich tomato base rice pilaf which was good. It has so much meat in it that it can be next day's lunch. The salmon was simple yet tasty, and also pretty affordable too. Mac and cheese was good too! Would recommend it in your sides. We ordered Rockefeller oysters but they never came out and was told they were burned .. but it still never came out. Oh well read more
