Johnny The Movers was referred to us for our move as we didn't know where to start! So easy from making the appointment... very accommodating to our schedule and even arrived a little early! Koa, Kona and Jordan arrived bright and early full of energy and super positive attitudes! A move is stressful but they made it so easy for us! We asked them to do so many things during our move and they were so nice, polite , professional and worked as a super team! Highly recommend Johnny the Movers and this wonderful first class team! Kona, Koa and Jordan... thanks much! Aloha! read more

They were amazing!!! The 2 older men were very customer service orientated, however the younger polynesian man I felt treated by. I told him a joke and it looked like he was ready to jump me. Couple other times I made a comment to him and he had a smart a** answer. But over all I was very pleased. They were very accommodating to my needs. read more

It has been over 7 years since my experience with this business AND it still bothers me so I've decided I need to warn others! I'm a single mother of (2) Special Needs kids and had 'hired' "Johnny the Mover" to help me move; I had a deadline too! On the day that he was suppose to arrive at 8:00am, he (& helpers) did not show up so I waited till (9:00am) then called him. He apologized and promised to be in Mililani by (10:30), saying he had to do a quick 'run' to Kailua first. By (12:00n) I called again, and he said he'd be on his way once they finished eating lunch! He strung me along all day! Finally he stopped answering my calls! I was STUCK!! I had to be out of the house in (1) more day! I was ANGRY and Upset!! Couldn't understand "why' he would do this to me nor offer to make good; How does he continue to be in business? He is UNTRUSTWorthy, UNreliable. and UNProfessional; Call someone else, he does not deserve to be in business! There are many other MOVERS!! (i.e. Akamai Movers, YouMoveMe.com, etc.) read more

I highly recommend Johnny The Mover! They were true to their word and charged a flat hourly rate with no hidden fees. The moving truck showed up on time and they finished about an hour early. The schedulers and the movers were all courteous and friendly. I forgot to give them a tip at the end but was able to call and do it over the phone using my credit card. Very smooth operation and user-friendly! I hope not to move again any time soon but will definitely let my friends know. read more

Three movers came to my house: Kam, Ati, and Isaac. They were very quick with the moving and listened to us so they understood where we wanted everything placed. They worked really hard and were very friendly. My family has had a terrible experience with a moving company once so I'm so thankful that Johnny The Mover is professional as a company and has great movers. Thank you! read more

Pleasant and hard working guys. Kona is professional and reliable.

I was contacted by one of the workers because of the review I left previously. They said they would purchase another drawer for us. We waited for them the WHOLE day on the day they said they would come, they never came. We called them many times during that day because my mother had to tend to business and was going to leave as soon as they arrived. They kept giving us excuses and wasted our time. Eventually, they stopped answering her calls. They ended up coming the day after that with their shoes on in our house. The guy even attached it the wrong way so there is an extra hole in it. It is damaged. They are still VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. And since I am writing another review it won't allow me to give them another 1 star but that is what I would give them AGAIN. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! A fare warning to those who would even consider using them for your moving needs. I would never recommend them to anyone. If I could give zero stars, that's what their rating would be. They were scheduled to deliver my order from pier 1 from 11:00-11:30. They were running late about two hours and failed to notify me. I had to find out for myself by calling the main line. I then received a call from one of the delivery guys notifying me that they were just on the way to Pier 1. He called me back 30 minutes later to say that there were more items for pick up then what was noted. He then said that he'd deliver it, but then proceeded to say, "tip us good." I felt so appalled at the comment "just tip us good" so I called the main number for johnny the mover to let them know that their employees are making that type of comment. I spoke to the dispatcher(didn't get his name) he literally scoffed at me and said, " I know he's being an ass that's not my fault." As he was saying that, he started to raise his voice and he went from a raised tone of voice to screaming. I then asked why he was yelling at me, he responding by screaming even more and then hung up. I then called Pier 1 to stop them from moving my items to their truck. I'm in disbelief that they're still in business. read more

Johnny the mover helped me with a move within the same condominium building and I could not have been more pleased. Not so much as a cup handle was broken. The team worked well together and accomplished the move within a matter of hours. Their attention to detail was exemplary. Every item of furniture was placed exactly where I directed and every electrical item was plugged in before they left. To complicate their work, I had the Best Buy team working at the same time to disconnect and reconnect my home entertainment system. They worked well with the distraction and cheerfully accommodated the Best Buy installers. I particularly like the faith-based nature of this company and I would use them again for any future move and highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Great movers. Called them last minute the Bohr before and owner responded quickly. Then they arrived a little late behind our 12pm appt time and worked for the straight 6 hours lifting super heavy items, but only charged for the actual time they were there so 5 1/2 hrs. Also they offer 3movers, plus truck, dolly, pack/unpack everything for that one price and they were using their own items. Very professional and would definitely recommend. They even offer military discount and can get on base without help! Great job done and don't waste time with the rest these guys are the best! read more

They show up and the first thing they say is "Hey Jerry Garcia" and just start railing me with complete rudeness. They brought 2 men when the quote was for 3 then complained that I had too much stuff. Next they complained that I didn't get an accurate quote and some how it was my fault that no one came to look at the job before they got there. So I called the dispatcher and he said I must have lied to him because his notes were different than what I was quoted. Then he started getting rude. I spent 23 years in the military moving every 3 years and never got such poor service. I fierce them immediately and alerted the property managers that they shouldn't recommend this company to any one and the property manager said she has had many problems with them in the past. Stay clear of this company!! read more

I used Yelp to find top movers in Honolulu, many replied. I actually decided on Johnn the Mover. First let me explain I have never used a professional mover before, (always do my own moves). I'm moving from a 1br/1bt 11th FL condo into a ground floor 1br/1bt condo. I needed to move a queen bed and box spring, a very large sofa, a very expensive/heavy Koa table, a mini fridge, chairs, metal full size filing cabinet(with all my files still inside, weighed over 250 pounds easily), a large office desk, a night stand and three dresser all fully loaded. I didn't know what to expect having never used a mover before. I was SHOCKED,(good shock)! the owner (Johnny Franklin) showed up with his big box truck. Within minutes another pick up showed up with another mover. Johnny introduced himself and his movers. These two mover were so very efficient I couldn't believe it. They wrapped every piece of large furniture before moving it. And when they started moving it was almost a blur...seems like every time I blinked my eyes large piece of furniture was gone. Becuase this review is getting long I will cut to the chase. The entire move took 1hour 49 minutes,(I started my Fitbit stopwatch the minute the truck pulled in). There is a 2hour minimum, which I believe should be 3 hours at least I would have gladly paid for 3 or 4 hours for this move. If you ever need to move and need to hire a professional mover. Johnny the Mover is the only company you should use. read more

Thankful for a quick, professional move in and out on short notice. Helpful office staff, and on-site written estimate. Each time they called to confirm the day before, and came on time. Movers Kaml and Atil were great did both the first move out, and then a week later, the move back in, they were clean, polite, careful, and patient, while quick and efficient. Would recommend them to all my friends! read more

Arrived on time and ready to work, wrapped my larger items with plastic and did a great job moving everything. Very Happy with the movers!

Worst moving company I have ever dealt with. Had a junk removal I had scheduled which they asked me to move up after I had initially scheduled. I made a special trip out there to meet them and when they got there they asked me if they could go do another job first and come back. There was maybe half and truck worth of stuff and movers were complaining about how much stuff there was. They ended up leaving to go do the other job. A bunch of divas would never recommend them to anyone! read more

This is a really good company for most moving needs. They deserve all the other positive reviews I see they've been getting. (I only noticed a few that were not positive, and at least one of those seems to be based on unrealistic expectations.) I was referred to them by a friend when I needed to move from the north shore to Waipahu. They were excellent in every way - good service, friendly people. More recently I needed to move a large piece of furniture from my apartment to storage and I called them again. I didn't think I could be so lucky twice, but once again it was excellent friendly service. I guess it isn't just good luck! This is a very reliable company. read more

Johnny the mover was extremely helpful moving my wife and I who have physical injuries preventing is doing heavy lifting. We had set up an appointment for Saturday mornih but they were about an hour late (lost one star) however, as soon as I called inquiring about their tardiness they showed up within 15 mins. The rate is very reasonable and they even arranged furniture how we wanted to in our new place. Other than being late, they really had top notch service and I would use them again. read more

I needed help getting a used surfboard picked up from a shop in Waikiki, then packaged for shipping, and then taken to the airport. Luckily, I found Johnny The Mover, and they did a flawless job. They picked up the board on-time, did a fabulous and careful job of wrapping the board in blankets and cardboard for shipping, and then got it to the right place so I received the board in Maui exactly as expected and in flawless condition. This company is great! read more

Jan and Ati from Johnny the Mover arrived early and gave us a courtesy call. They were hardworking, polite, and professional. They completed the job neatly, efficiently, and conscientiously. Most of all, they had a positive attitude. We are thoroughly satisfied with their workmanship. We will definitely hire Johnny the Mover again. We highly recommend Kam and Ati. Big Mahalo! read more

I had originally contacted another company that screwed me over the first day. When they didn't show up I called my storage unit Hawaii Self Storage explained the situation and asked them to please help me. They gave me Johnny the Mover. I have been in the military 10 years and have never dealt with a better moving company in the entire time. I called the day that I needed moved explain what all had happened to me with the other moving company and said please help me. He had a great crew out in less than 2 hrs after I called. They have been great and moved very fast and never once complained. After my budgeted time limit was up I called Johnny back and said this is what I have left what can we do. For a little extra he made it happen. I will hands down recommend this company to all military and civilian personnel. Thanks for all your hard work. read more

We moved from our house that we lived in for 30 years (imagine what we had accumulated in that time) to a storage unit on two different days and then from the storage unit to our new residence - and even picked up a couch from another location on that same day....The horror of moving was a nightmare but with Johnny's help it went as best as it possibly could. He was so patient with us and the cost was less than half of what the other well known moving company in Hawaii wanted.....When we had a couple of complaints Johnny addressed the issues quickly and to our benefit.....We COULD NOT HAVE BEEN HAPPIER WITH JOHNNY - WILL USE HIM AGAIN IF I EVER HAVE TO MOVE ANYTHING and will insist that all my friends do the same... .We even called him after we were all moved in to tell him we might have some furniture to pick up but we would not know until the day of the pick up and it would have to be on that day and he said "no problem we do a lot of same day moves" - This is the first time I have ever posted a review, but Johnny, his wife and staff were just so wonderful that it has to be done..... I just read the review from Tim S. and it sounds just like the complaint that I had, ( It must be the same three guys that came to my house for the second move to storage - (they gotta go) but when we called Johnny he gave us credit for an additional two hours when we needed them again for the move to our new residence) - THERE THE BEST.... read more

This is my 3rd time using Johnny The Mover and the experience has been excellent. The team of Albert, John and Tim went way beyond to move an appliance given unforeseen space situation. Most movers would have given up but they persevered and were successful! I really appreciate the effort and the ingenuity! They had also initially miscalculated the time and billed me incorrectly but came back to set it right. Thank you, guys! read more

These guys used to be good .. Now they suck! Two guys show up on time and the lead guy immediately hands me his business card informing me he has his own moving business. He goes on to say that in order to meet the 4:30 deadline we will need one more guy. He convinced me that in the long run it would save me $ .. Reluctantly I agreed to his plan. Minutes later I overheard him calling one of his buddies saying " I've got some work for you , this move is a piece of cake" ! When I booked the move I requested they bring tools in order to disassemble/assemble several pieces of furniture. The guy taking the reservation assured me they would do so. Unfortunately when they arrived they did not have their toolbox. The lead guy asked if I would drive him to his apartment (5 minutes away) where he could pick up his toolbox. When we returned to my apartment it appeared that the two remaining guys had not done any work at all. The lead guy asked if he could use my bathroom, he left such a stench in there that I thought I was going to puke. The lead guy could see that I was annoyed and said to me " you know it's not smart to have an attitude because pissing off your mover is never a good idea" At that point I was ready to throw the three stooges out the door ! They were slow as molasses, terribly unprofessional, and charged more than I had been quoted. When we arrived at my new home that idiot had the nerve to ask if he could once again use my bathroom. This time I refused. They were supposed to reassemble the furniture they had taken apart previously but by the time we got to my new home I was so fed up with them I asked him to just leave. Even with help from the third guy they did not move everything out of my apartment because they brought a truck that was too small. I ended up having to hire another mover the following day to complete the job. I'm totally dissatisfied with Johnny The Mover and will not refer him to any friends and will never use them again! Later the next day I discovered these clowns ended up leaving their infamous toolbox in my new home. I am missing several items that I can only assume they helped themselves to while I was driving the lead guy to his place to get his damn tools! These guys are awful!! FYI: it was a one bedroom apartment read more

Horrible! My husband and I ended up helping them move because they couldn't move everything on their own. Scratched walls and furniture then charged us double of their estimate. paid for three men but only two worked while the third sat in the back of the truck telling everyone where to put things. Bad experience! read more

We needed to move stuff to California - it was not a full container. I called Johnny the Mover, told him what we had to move and asked him to give us an estimate. We were working on a tight schedule, having to move everything within 2 1/2 weeks. He said they could do it and we made an appointment. On the day he was scheduled to come, he called (at the time he was supposed to arrive) and told us he couldn't deal with a small move. He gave us the name of someone else to call. To tell us at the last minute (when we'd made it clear that it wouldn't be a full container) was bad and it left us in a bind, having to scramble to find someone else on short notice. On top of all that, the person he referred us to never returned our call. I can see that they have had good reviews but, if you are moving stuff overseas, DON'T CALL THEM!!! read more

I hate to say it, but I was really disappointed with my experience. I called for for a quote to move one large piece furniture just a couple of miles from a friend's house to mine. When I told him that I thought the quote was too high, he dropped it to almost half the amount. The movers were very nice guys, but part of the furniture was broken and unfortunately the paint was also very noticeably scratched. It now requires both fixing and painting. The movers lowered the fee because of the damage, but I'd rather have had a move with no damage. My experience was disappointing enough that I'll look around for another mover next time. read more

I recently moved from Oahu to CA, I hired Johnny the Mover to do the job. It was a horrible experience. When the guys arrived they spent about ten minutes in bathroom breaks, fortunately I didn't have much stuff to move from my townhouse . I had two boxes that I had packed and taped up myself. In my closet on the top shelf was a bunch of books that I asked them to pack along with my brand new Mac book air still in the box. From there we headed to my storage unit to empty it out. Of the three movers only one decided to follow me to my unit to empty it out. The others hungout in the back of the truck . It took two trips with a push cart to empty my little storage unit.. When I came down with the last cart the guys loaded up the truck. And then wasted time looking busy as though they were organizing the truck. I thought they were gonna follow me to the final stop but instead they hung out in the back of the truck doing who knows what. My move was a small one I could have completed it with a girlfriend and a truck in about an hour. These guys were obviously trying to milk the clock. I headed to the last stop of the day and they showed up about 35 minutes later. They rushed in spent another ten minutes in bathroom breaks then put everything in my dining room. When all was done it had been about 1 hour and 40 minutes, they charged for two hours. A couple days later I went through my boxes looking for my MacBook, but could not find it. Royal Hawaiian movers came about a week later to ship my belongings to CA, still no MacBook. Unfortunately I didn't call right away to make a complaint. I'm kinda silly and trusting, I refused to believe that these guys had stolen my property right from under my nose. I told myself it would turn up in CA. Well I'm in CA without my MacBook. I called to inform Johnny the Mover of what happened, ended up talking to Trish. She had said she would look into and call me back the following day, it's been about 4 days and I've yet to hear from her or Johnny. I'm not really expecting to hear back from her because she made it very clear that there is nothing they can do because of the time that has elapsed since the shipping. And how do I know it was even them since I had another moving company involved?Anyways I just thought I'd share my experience so you don't make the same mistake I did. read more

We had the most incredible experience moving with Johnny the Movers. I have moved several times while staying in Hawaii over the past 15 years. I have never had a better experience moving. Ati and Kam were beyond proffessional. I called the management office just to thank them for their excellent employees. I really couldnt say more about this company. They are honest, fair and do not overcharge. They are a moving company with integrity and we learned that Kam, who was significantly smaller than Ati was just as mighty. Lol. They were an incredible and amazing team. I really could not begin to say more about how wonderful they were! We were so impressed by how fast they moved... we tipped them both before the move and after the move... and they earned every dollar of it. We woukd have easily paid twice what we paid with other movers. They didnt even take one break. As a business owner.... Honestly... I hope management reads this so they give raises where raises are due. read more

Well, it's over and I'm relieved at that but it was not a pleasant experience. The coordinator, Trish, was helpful in rescheduling my move when the dates changed. The movers arrived promptly, however as I've unfortunately experienced before, three arrived instead of the two I requested. They said this would make things faster. That did not happen. Their unloading style was inefficient and slow which ended up costing me almost twice the amount I was expecting. Things were scratched and broken but since I couldn't be there to see the shipment on arrival at the dock, I can't say where this occurred.I do know they didn't show much respect for my things on arrival to the condo. I'm handicapped and asked them to put most things in a back bedroom with the hopes that I'd be able to work on things slowly. They piled everything in such an unorganized heap that I can't even get in the room. The movers were OK but full of complaints which did not help. I'm just glad they were able to get everything through my narrow doorway and that it's all over. read more

Just needed the furniture moved for our local move. The two movers did an excellent job. In June, they helped our moving. They came late which was notified earlier, but during the moving time, they went somewhere and still charged us that time. After about 1 week of the moving, we found some damage and missing staff, we called the office. They said would call back and nothing happened. 2weeks after, I called and explained about the above, supposed to hear from some other people, nothing happened. Then 3 weeks lated I called back. Guess what, they said, It's too late and all damages could caused by us. my husband and my son were helping them to load some staff and the company said my family could cause the damages, EVEN THOUGH I WITNESSED THAT THEY DROPPED OUR NEW BED AND KNOCKED OFF STANDING LIGHT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. The office has no intend to investigate their mistake, late response and no clear contract. Instead, they said we would be charged more because our room is more than 100 yard from the elevator, but did not. We were not explained anything about that before the moving. I would say that is hidden cost. I wouldn't recommend. Also if you look for moving company, you should ask about all policy about the damage and time frame of claim. read more

News Flash. There is a new top dog moving company in town: Johnny the Mover! Earlier this week I had to complete a difficult three location move on short notice with a limited budget. The professionals at Johnny the Movers were focused, friendly, and did everything possible to make the situation as stress-free as possible. The crew was nothing short of All Star (thank you Landon, Kona, Hutch, J K, Rena). Bottom line: Competitive Pricing, a crew that works like a 'well-oiled' machine, dedicated to top notch customer service. Not only are they super strong, they work hard to get the job done on time and on budget. Highly recommended. read more

Ive used this company twice. First time ok service. Second time there seemed to be no supervisor, one mover spoke a little english. Our belongings kept arriving broken, with parts missing. I would ask where a part was and they would silently go to the truck, get the part and hand it to me. One mover was very obese and kept dropping boxes off the back of the truck due to his limited movement. Calls, texts and photos to "johnny" yielded no result. We wont use them again- they caused hundreds of dollars of damage to our furniture. read more
