Slider + tender combo with an extra sauce
Michelle C.

Personally my favorite hot chicken sandwich chain. Tenders are flavorful with good spice levels, bun is sweet and tasty, and the fries are crispy and also seasoned very well. Street parking sucks, but the nearby parking garage supposedly has a space for if you're picking up an order (saw this sign too late to make use of it ).

Pro: they use canola oil to fry. Con: the chicken strips were extremely greasy - definitely be forewarned, don't wear nice clothing here! Two orders was $34

Stopped by Main Chick Hot Chicken while on a food tour and ordered a chicken sandwich. The bun was a bit on the smaller side, but the chicken itself was a nice size. I went with the medium spice level, and it definitely delivered heat -- I could smell the chile before even taking a bite. The spice kind of dominated the flavor, though. I think it could've benefited from a sauce or maybe just a touch more salt to balance things out. Overall, it was okay. The shop itself is pretty small and not really a sit-down-and-eat type of place. That said, the service was on point and the staff was friendly and welcoming.

Came here yesterday to have lunch with my best friend and her boyfriend since they were visiting from up north and they wanted a chicken sandwich. Good luck on free parking. There is parking at ONE Colorado parking structure. The first 15 mins is free and then paid after that. This spot is quite small but cute. When we went, it wasn't very busy. We went on a Saturday around 12ish pm. I ordered: -Dark Meat Chicken Sandwich- Medium $6.99 -Season Crinkle Cut Fries $6.00 -Ube Cheesecake $6.99 The chicken sandwich was juicy and had nice heat level. I was kind of expecting Medium to be hotter in my opinion. The crinkle cut fries had a nice touch of seasoning & crunch to it. I really enjoyed the sauce it came with it. The Ube Cheesecake was probably by far my favorite out of everything. When I first took a bite of the Ube Cheesecake, I couldn't really taste the Ube right away but then the flavor came through slowly at the end, kind of lingered in the back of my mouth. This is a nice place to a get a quick bite if you're in the area.

YUM! Main Chick Hot Chicken is mouthwatering :3 ! Tried the Combo 1 that comes with a slider, tender, fries and 1 sauce. I would recommend getting two sauces though (additional fee may apply) [Spice Level~ Spicy] It did have a kick to it, but nothing unbearable, so if you like spicy chicken definitely get this level or even take it up a notch, which I'll do on my next visit LOL! I will note that the inside is quite small and only has 4 stools, that's it. So your chances of eating inside are slim, but there is an outdoor public seating area nearby which a few of the other business share. Overall, I would highly recommend coming here. Give it a shot, they are a growing business & I've seen them expand to other cities! *P.S. Try the Mac n' Cheese here! TO DIE FOR! It's the creamy white cheddar kind! ^~^

First time trying and I was amazed. Their sandwiches are so good and I like that you can choose between dark and light meat. The combos are good value for money as well. Service was excellent. The cashier was helpful and kind. It's a very small area so there's not a lot of seating so it might be hard to eat inside during peak hours. Overall would come again if I were in the area.

There's nothing better than crispy fried chicken when you're craving for a simple, satisfying meal or snack! So happy to discover this hidden gem tucked away in a small spot along an alley in Old Town Pasadena. I got the non-spicy two-piece chicken with fries, bread, and their special MC sauce. The chicken was extra crispy, juicy, and perfectly marinated. You can tell it's freshly fried and not frozen. The fries were surprisingly addicting, -- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Prices are very reasonable, and while the space is small, it's clean and well-ventilated. Such a solid spot for a quick and tasty bite!

Dangerous how close this spot is to my work... Tried Main Chick Hot Chicken for the first time and it's so good. The chicken is perfectly crispy and juicy and the flavor's on point. I like how fresh the pickle is and it has a good crunch to it. I was surprised the sauce is packaged and not made in house but it's still good. It's a small shop with 4 or 5 bar seats to enjoy fresh there, other than that, it's good for togo / pick ups. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Parking was a bit difficult if you want to be in front. Otherwise there is parking on the street as long as you pay during the week. This place is a simple, hip little place. Thera limited seating. Service was quick and friendly. We got the chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken sandwich was crunchy and juicy. The prices were a bit high.

The ordering kiosk was down when we went, but they reset it for us. You can also order at the counter. This chicken was very good! Nice and crispy, and even the naked was flavorful. Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the seasoning on the fries. I think it was a seasoning salt, but either way it was too salty and just had too many spices for a fry. I wanted it to contrast the chicken, not have a similar flavor profile. This is a very casual restaurant, with limited window stool seating.

I drove over 40 miles to this location just to see that they're not even open yet. It would be nice if they posted an opening date on Yelp or their website so ppl like myself don't make this unnecessary drive. Any dates?

Completely understand your concerns! I was in OC and didn't want to drive up until it for sure opened. I even kept commenting on Instagram for a date lol. But happy to say they're finally open in Pasadena since this week!!

The salmon was also tasty (we shared plates). The apple strudel was yummy as was the dessert with lemons curd, blackberries and melt-in-your -mouth shortbread cookies. Almost forgot to mention the watermelon drop cocktail. What a perfect refreshing summer drink. Definitely worth trying. Well done, Arbour! I'll be back.

After a quick glance at the menu, made a reservation and we all met up. We were able to get seated right away at a booth, and water was brought out for the table immediately. We started with drinks and I honestly don't remember what everyone had. The Mai Tai was a little lackluster, though, but the other cocktails were decent. For food, we started with the oysters, potatoes croquettes and agnolotti. The oysters were fine, can't complain about oysters, but they really didn't stand out necessarily. The croquettes were tasty, nice and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with smoked bacon and cheddar cheese. And the agnolotti came topped with a truffle foam and filled with ricotta cheese. Also a nice bite! For entrees we tried the pork chop, rigatoni, shrimp penne and the bucatini spaghetti. The shrimp penne has a good amount of shrimp in it, which is always nice, but there seemed to be a missing flavor profile to make the dish pop. The same with the rigatoni with basil pesto, it just tasted like something was missing to elevate it into a great dish. The rigatoni did have that nice pesto green color which stands out though. The bucatini was a little better with the spiciness from the vodka sauce giving it a little punch, but the stand out was the boneless pork chop with broccoli and cheddar covered potato gnocchi. Pork chop was cooked perfectly, great flavor on the pork and the gnocchi hit as well. Overall, Italian spot in Pasadena seeing up didn't nice looking dishes. The agnolotti, croquettes and pork chop were definitely stars of the meal, while the pasta dishes didn't hit like we all hoped they would. I'd stick with the proteins and maybe skip the pastas.

It wasnt that busy at the time of our arrival. There were a lot of tables and the noise level was quiet. The host was nice and sat us not too long after we arrived. The table that we got sat at was extremely wobbly. My father-in-law noticed another table had napkins placed underneath to stabilize so he did the same to our table and it worked. Tara took our order and brought out the drinks. The food was 90% great! The 10% that fell short was a combination of things. 1) menu online and the physical menu said corn bread (which we were told no longer serves them). If its no longer available, update the menu because we were excited to try the corn bread. 2) a bbq place with no wet naps, that is really weird. However, they did bring me a stack of paper towels that were wet as if they were wet naps. 3) only 1 steak knife was provided in the platters. It was hard for a party of 6 to cut up meat with only 1 steak knife. 4) one of the sides came out cold, and hard. I bit into a macaroni and it felt raw because of how hard it was! I even dropped the macaroni on the plate and it rang! We brought it to the servers attention and we were able to get a fresh one free of charge. We loved the short ribs and the tomahawk steak! They were delicious. Baked potato as a side item was very large! During the whole time we were eating, no one came by to check on us, refills were not provided until after we were done eating. We never got one of the drinks that Tara wrote down and it showed up on the check. I was trying to get a staff members attention, and my hand was raised up, and there were hosts that saw my hand raised, but did nothing. There were other servers and runners that saw it too. Took a while for us to get any help. We eventually flagged down our server after what felt like 5 minutes. We brought the charge to our servers attention, and they corrected that too. Overall, the table service could have been a lot better, fix broken tables, and I suggest you bring your own wet naps or baby wipes because they dont supply any.

Luckily our table had a loveseat type couch, so we were able to squeeze our toddler in between us during the meal. We were here for the weekend brunch and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the price of the menu items! For a restaurant on Lake, I was expecting more. QUICK TAKE Get: Fish of the Day, Lamb, Moroccan-style Mushrooms Skip: Duck was our one miss Know: This is a good place for adventurous eaters who like sharing dishes and trying unexpected flavor combinations. Holy Saints does a nice job of making food feel creative without crossing over into "trying too hard." There are a lot of different influences running through the menu, and several dishes had us talking about the flavors and ingredients as much as the food itself. What we tried: Moroccan-style Mushrooms - A great example of what Holy Saints does well. Earthy, savory mushrooms with contrasting textures from the nuts, thinly sliced radish, herbs and crispy elements on top. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked together. Definitely one to share. Fish of the Day - One of the highlights of the meal and something I would absolutely order again. The fish came over rice in a deeply flavored sauce with peppers, herbs and fresh vegetables. Colorful, comforting and much more interesting than the standard fish-and-vegetables preparation you see at a lot of restaurants. Lamb - Another winner. Rich, hearty and well seasoned, with the sauce pulling everything together. If you're visiting for the first time and like lamb, this would be high on my list. Duck - Good flavor, but it seemed like the duck sauce could have benefited from a little more time to rest before being sliced and served. We joked that we should have brought a bag, taken it home and eaten it as leftovers instead. Sometimes duck might just need a night to think about what it did. What I liked most about Holy Saints is that the food wasn't boring. The kitchen takes familiar ingredients and puts them together in ways you probably wouldn't think of yourself, which makes it a fun restaurant for ordering several things and sharing around the table.
