I was not expecting this. Okay, so I was having a very stressful day. The 5 hour drive was ridiculous. The hotel check in was insane. Things kept hitting the fan all day on what was supposed to be the first day of our 3 day vacation. I was stressed and not okay. I was hungry and my teen asked me to just pick a restaurant because she couldn't choose, so I figured, "let's go to Magic Time Machine" because it's American food and I need the 7 year old to eat without giving me problems. Let me tell you... I was NOT expecting this. So yeah, we had to wait a bit, there was a party of 17 that had arrived before us, in addition to all the smaller families, so a wait was expected. What WASN'T expected was the amount of energy and joy from the servers, especially that late at night! Thor, our server, was AMAZING! And by the way, he is EndGame Thor, not Marvel's Loki Thor. His Loki died, as well as his father and sister, and all his friends, and I had to remind him, "your mom is dead too." And he replied, "so is Tony Stark." So I reminded him, "Spider-Man died for 5 years, but Hawkeye never did." Thor hit it off with my teen right off the bat, which made my night easier. Emo kids, man... it's rough... but he got her smiling and laughing in a heartbeat! His energy is infectious! My 7 year old left to go investigate the whole restaurant and came back to check on me every few moments to make sure I was okay. The food? It was as amazing as the servers! I got the smoked herbed chicken. It was so moist and juicy and oh my gosh! You could taste (and smell) the smoke and the blend of herbs was perfect! The flavor didn't just sit on the skin of the chicken, you could taste the herbs all the way to the very last morsel. My 7 year old got the chopped steak and loved it so much, I don't even think she touched her fries! Half the steak was gone before I had even had a chance to start into my chicken! And my teen ordered the chicken Alfredo and informed me that it was absolutely delicious! And she's a very picky eater! We stayed there later than we had expected, but we were having such an amazing time, it was hard to leave! We didn't want to! And the comraderie between Belle and Thor was great! Belle asked my teen to help her play a prank on Thor, in which my teen eagerly assisted, as her and Thor had a running rivalry. Thor had stolen one of her shoes and gave it to Spider-Man. Spider-Man stole her other shoe, but not before she had grabbed one of her shoes and thrown it across the way. Thor made sure to announce that both my daughters were members of the Itty Bitty bladder committee, even though my teen only went to the bathroom to take a selfie...lol! He made sure the whole restaurant knew she didn't wash her hands! Then he teased the 7 year old as well when she needed to go to the bathroom. As soon as he teased her, ALL the kids in the restaurant volunteered to go to the bathroom so they, too, could be members of the Itty Bitty bladder committee! I go to restaurants often, not going to lie, and I've been to dinner theater before, not just Medevial Times, but mystery dinner theaters as well. This, to be purely honest, was the best experience in my 4 decades on this planet of dining experiences. I cannot recall a time where not only did I laugh incredibly hard, but the food was delicious and the atmosphere amazing. And to get the honor of seeing both my children smiling, laughing, and having a blast? This is a memory I will cherish forever! We are already planning to come back, if we can, before the end of our vacation, as well as for spring break next year as well! And on our way back to the hotel, I could hear my 7 year old sniffling and I asked her what was wrong and she replied, "I miss Thor and Belle so much already!" Truly an amazing experience had by all, including the various family members and friends across the country as well as in other countries. I will never forget this. I will cherish this experience for the rest of my life. Truly an amazing adventure and a wonderful end to a very hard day! read more
