I haven't been back since the Yelp event, where I genuinely had a great time! The front-of-house staff was friendly and welcoming, and I even got to crack a few jokes with the bartenders. The overall experience was enjoyable! After visiting their Whittier location and experiencing a longer-than-expected wait for food with little to no attention from the staff, I was excited to give them another try when the Long Beach location opened. I can't speak on what the service is like now since I haven't been back since the event, but hopefully another reason to visit comes along soon so I can give an updated review!
Serve was super attentive, the place was clean and aesthetic, and the food was good! I only wish there was a bit more red onion on the sampler toast and it could probably work on plating. Would come again!
Serving staff seemed disengaged. I asked for order suggestions and my server was not very convincing which was understandable once I tasted their mole chilaquiles, very disappointing. Cute decor, decent music, but the food was disappointing.
The service was excellent, and the staff was very attentive. However, the food was just okay. One of my pancakes was burnt. The biggest issue was the flies landing on our table and food, which made me lose my appetite and stop eating. Overall, the service was great, but the food quality and the flies really affected my dining experience.
Had such a great brunch here! The vibe is bright, colorful, and fun -- great energy throughout the place. Big menu with tons of pancake, waffle, and French toast options, plus a solid drinks selection (teas, coffees, smoothies). No Bloody Marys, but they make up for it with michaladas, which was a nice surprise. They also had a few choice for mimosas and even fun mimosa flights. I got the steak and eggs 8/10-- really good. My friend had the huevos rancheros 8/10 and loved it. Our server Abel was awesome -- super friendly and checked on us throughout the meal. Lively, popping atmosphere with great food and service. Definitely recommend for a good brunch spot!
Decided to walk over for breakfast. Was immediately greeted and sat. Waitress was Amazing! All of the help here was phenomenal. You could tell this quaint little place was home to locals. The setting was adorable. The food came out immediately. And was Outstanding!!!!!!! No misses. I ordered a regular waffle with strawberries. They were so fresh and the waffle flavor was so tasty. My other half ordered simple 2egg breakfast. Look at that toast. I mean it looks like they baked it fresh that morning. You will not leave hungry. This place has got to be among my top 5. Loook at the cute design on our lattes. And these were one of the "BEST" lattes I have had.
Yummy spot. Cute inside with friendly staff. I was staying at the Westin around the corner. Walk was short and convenient. I wanted a Horchata latte and saw this yummy menu and decided to give it a try. The food speed was average. Coffee was flavorful. Interior was Instagram-able and fun. I would go back. But I think I would get something a little more chill. Everyone's plates around me had a lot going on too. If you want something for the gram or a big plate of food come try this spot.
Such a beautiful Sunday brunch at Madre's! I sat outside on the patio, and it was the perfect setting for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. I had the pistachio latte, which was delicious and such a nice change from my usual coffee, along with the steak chilaquiles. The chilaquiles were flavorful, filling, and the steak made them even better. Great food, beautiful outdoor atmosphere, and a wonderful place to enjoy a slow Sunday brunch. I'll definitely be back!
I would definitely come here again. Eggs & Hashbrowns were ok, bacon & toast was good, coffee was better and the pancake was the best. Our server was awesome! He seemed to be doing everything by himself. One man team. I wouldn't be surprised if he was doing the cooking too. I loved the decor. The neon signs were pretty cool. See you soon.
My friend and I came here on a weekday for brunch. It was so cutely decorated inside and our server was so sweet and very attentive! For the food, we shared the birria omelette and the madres chilaquiles. They were both packed with lots of meat and so delicious. The chilaquiles were crispy although some were soggy in the middle because of all the toppings. The salsa was good and it came with two eggs which was perfect for our sharing! The birria omelette was also good but a bit dry and I thought that it could have used a bit more cheese. My friend and I still finished everything though and it was a fun spot to try out!
Wonderful spot in Long Beach for breakfast or brunch. They have tables inside or outside. It is really a lovely location with a cute little shop next door incase you are waiting for a table. The food is really good and plentiful. Since it was brunch, I got the Mimosa Flight which is 3 mimosas of orange juice, cranberry juice and pineapple juice - so fun! I just wish I had chosen a different dish than the Divorsados, not because they weren't good because they delicious but when our table got the French Toast dish with ice cream, I knew I should have gotten the waffle. LOL The staff is super sweet as well. They were very attentive. We sat outside which was very nice. The weather was perfect. I can't wait to go again.
If you're looking for a great brunch spot with delicious food, great service, and mimosas that don't disappoint, I highly recommend giving this place a try!
Great service, come early during the week it's not busy. I'm sure it gets busy in the weekends. The ambiance was a bit loud with the music they had playing inside so it was a nice day outside to sit down instead. We got the Belgian waffle $18 and the mazapán latte with soy milk plus whip cream $8+ $1 soy milk. The waffle was good, they give you two so we split it. It comes with fresh fruit like strawberries and bananas and blueberries. It comes with whip cream and butter. The mazapán latte was hot, my choice by the way, they have it cold too. It was very sweet, it's popular item but very sweet. For two things it was $29 plus tip. Kind of pricy for a waffle and a coffee. Parking is meter parking, two restrooms inside.

Abel is THE man (the server)!!! Me and my boyfriend tried the Madres Brunch off 1st street in Long Beach, the service, food & beverages were absolutely SPECTACULAR! We were blown away especially by the incredibly kind, considerate & attentive servers. Service was absolutely terrible. We arrived at 11:45 am, we didn't get our food until 12:49 PM. By the time we got our food it was cold and the tortillas with sauce had turned into soup. 3 other tables got their food and orders taken before we did. We had to stand up and get utensils ourselves because we couldn't get a hold of any of the waiters. read more

June 28, 2025 | Long Beach | While in Long Beach & craving a bite to eat, I looked on Yelp & discovered Madres Brunch! What a fun find! Dubai Chocolate Pancakes | Fluffy, plentiful & I loved the colorful drizzle on top of the pancakes! As to flavor, not my favorite! However, the pancakes were unique & worth a try, because it was on the special menu and for a limited time! Something about the pancakes were a bit dry, even with syrup. Decor | Vibrant & festive, upbeat energy as well! I absolutely loved it! Butterflies, hummingbirds, and chandeliers, oh my! Hahaha! It's so pretty inside! I found myself looking around often! Customer Service | Wildy friendly, and attentive, even while the place was incredibly busy! Parking | My great friend, and I easily found parking at a nearby meter! Overall | Yes! I would easily return and try something new! Not every dish will be for everyone! Customer service was amazing and the decor alone is a plus! Food was unique in their own way . Different appearance than any other Mexican restaurant I have ever seen. Food was good . Breakfast is their specialty . What a great new find. Little on the expensive end but good to try. Service was average . Inside was decorated very cute. I must say their restroom is for All gender and it was not very tidy. Overall I would recommend this place for your own views and taste. read more

I'm not a breakfast person but this place has been on our radar for some time. We finally took my partners' parents to try it out! They had a special Dubai chocolate pancake and we couldn't resist getting it. Pancakes were huge, and the toppings made it very decadent. My partner loves pancakes and he loved it! I got the special birria sandwich which was nice and flavorful, consommé on the side was savory and spiced. The parents also enjoyed their oatmeal and breakfast plates. The horchata latte was sweet and tasty - My partner wasn't a fan because it was too sweet for him, but he is a true coffee drinker and prefers no sweeteners in his coffee. if you have a sweet tooth like me, you'll like it! read more
This rating is partially my fault--I came here for what I wanted vs what I needed. I'm in Long Beach for a conference so I needed a healthy breakfast and WiFi to get some work done. First, upon entering the establishment there was no air conditioning. Pretty stuffy so I requested to sit outdoors. Is the south the only region of the US that does air conditioning?! I was initially attracted to Madres by the delicious-looking photos of their breakfast, but I didn't order any of their fun coffee flights, waffles, pancakes, or French toast, so I don't feel like I can speak to what they do best. I instead went for the fruit salad--I barely ate any of it because the fruit was mediocre, there was no need for the mounds of nuts, and the yogurt/granola was not good. No one knew the WiFi password and the password I was given by 2 different servers didn't work. I tried multiple iterations they suggested with no luck, so I had to settle for my personal hotspot. The last miss here was that there were nuts in my latte, no warning. I understand that marzipan is an almond paste, but what happened to just using flavored syrup? Chopped & ground nuts at the bottom of an iced coffee--gross! read more

We decided to try this place based on the highly rated reviews, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. After placing our order, we waited about 20-25 minutes for our food, only for it to arrive cold and tasting like it had been sitting in the back. The steak and eggs were ordered medium well, yet came out extremely red and undercooked. We sent it back, and even the second time it was still not cooked correctly. To make matters worse, there is an additional charge for any condiments you want to add. The staff is semi friendly but service is slow. Overall, the food quality and experience did not live up to the reviews or expectations. read more
Had the opportunity to try Madre's Brunch yesterday morning after my morning run with friends. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast with bacon and sourdough toast. My friend ordered the Birria Chilaquiles that by the way looked amazing! The service was a bit slow at first we waited about 10 minutes after being seated for our menus, and another 10 minutes for our water and to order drinks. Speaking of drink we ordered the classic mimosa flights they were delicious, I did think they were a little over priced for only 3 mimosas in the flight but I guess I've seen worse! Lol my only complaints were that my bacon was over cooked boarder line burnt and the service started out a little slow. Other than that breakfast was delicious and the staff was so nice! Definitely give them a try if you're in the area! read more

Definitely recommend stopping here for breakfast/brunch if you can! It was only a 5 minute wait to get seated which was shocking being how busy it was. Shared everything that was ordered because I wanted to try as much as possible. Everything was absolutely amazing. The green verse chilaquiles and strawberry pancake was 10/10z I will definitely be coming back if I'm in the area again! read more
At first glance, cute place, has very unique food creations but once your inside it's not great. The service was slow, they don't believe in ketchup apparently, it's very loud, and parking is not great. What disappointed me the most was when our bill came and there was an extra 15 dollar charge added. What happened was, When I ordered all my food, i said that's all, and the waiter asked if we wanted him to bring chips and quac to the table for us. Ok, so if I DONT order this and u offer it, it seems free like most chips that are offered at Mexican restaurants. Well this was NOT free and also 15 damn dollars!! WTH! Most expensive chips I have ever paid for... very annoying. Won't go back! Be careful cause they will manipulate you with their words to get u to spend more money.. food wasn't even that good. read more

So it was our first time here what a great find we found it on yelp. glad we got there early. I would suggest being there between 10 and 11 because afterwards it was a wait we got seated. What a great server we had which was Abel. The ambience was cute. The food was amazing. We had hot coffee flight, which was great, but because we like coffee so much we ordered a special coffees after that special coffee flight. My sister had hazelnut and I had the dolce de Leche. they were amazing so tasty. This is a must try ! We will be going back again and this time it'll be mimosas read more
I want to start by saying the chilaquiles omelette is amazing. The conception is so good! And the wait staff was great. This place is totally worth going. It wasnt quite a 5 star in terms of food conception/design and the price is about what you would expect. But its not easy to get a 5 star from me. Definately worth breakfast or brunch. read more

This place was wonderful! The food was delicious, the space and decore was nice and the environment was welcoming. We had a large party and celebrated my graduation there. All of the staff were sweet and attentive. Our waiter was so kind! He checked on us often and made me feel so special on my special day. I had a horchata latte that was spectacular. I went here 4 times over the course of a week I spent in Long Beach. It was right next to my hotel to be fair. Great spot with friendly service. Coffee was great and had multiple breakfast items that were all good. read more
This place has a great menu with lots of food options. Hard to pick with so many good options! The mole chilaquiles were really good. The food portions here are very generous! The staff & customer service was excellent, our waitress was very attentive! They have indoor & outdoor seating & the inside is really cute! read more

Food Service Ambiance I'm not embarrassed to say I darn near licked my plate clean. The food I ordered was delicious. I don't remember what it was called but something about divorced eggs. My latte was too good, I drank it so fast. The service, friendly & welcoming. The walla had art and greenery to make the space fresh looking and inviting. It was a pleasant first time visit. First time I came service was great, atmosphere was vibey (they had Spanish music playing), and the food was delicious! My sister was in town so i said I know the perfect spot! Unfortunately, this was not the move. The host sat us right away. The server took a while to come and take our drink/ food order. I ordered an iced strawberry horchata and received a warm drink instead. I asked them to switch it and by the time the correct drink arrived so did the food. The sever never came back until it was time to pay. The gentleman with the blondish hair was the one taking care of us. (He deserved my tip!) I want to say he was the busser. The individual I believed to be the manager would make eye contact and see we had no drinks but would go to other tables and check on them. The food was delicious still so thank you to the cooks! But the elevator music was not it. Overall, I will NOT be coming back. However food and drinks are delicious so it is a place to check out, just possibly expect a boring atmosphere and poor service. read more
Madre's Brunch is an adorable brunch place with inexpensive food options. The service was super speedy. The pancake and two eggs breakfast was phenomenal. The eggs were cooked to order and the side of fruit was beautifully arranged on my plate. The serving dishes were also beautiful. This restaurant is a cute and instagram worthy spot to come to for brunch with friends. Everyone there is super nice and our waiter was great, he offered great suggestions! My friends wanted mimosas so they shared the large mimosa flight which came with 12 mimosas. I decided on the Specialty Latte Flight which came with a Pistachio Latte, Mazapan Latte, Horchata latte, and Abuelita (Mexican hot chocolate) latte. I don't like Abuelita or Horchata so I asked if they could sub out for the flavors that came on the regular latte flight. I asked to replace them with hazelnut and dulce de leche, but for whatever reason the barista told our waiter that they couldn't do that. I honestly feel like that didn't make any sense, especially when I said I'd pay the specialty flight price still. That was very disappointing, so I ended up just getting double pistachio and double mazapan. Why would they be able to do double but not sub out, I don't know. That being said, both flavors were amazing!!! The lattes were absolutely delicious. Wish I could've just gotten the full flight experience. I can't speak on the food other than the side pancake I got. The pancake was just ok. All my friends said they liked their food though! I'll have to come back to try their Chilaquiles because that looked really good! read more

Reagan was absolutely amazing! My best friend and I came in for my birthday brunch, and she made the whole experience perfect. She took our orders quickly, made sure we got our drinks right away, and ensured our food came out hot and fresh. Even while multitasking -- taking photos, working the room, and managing everything -- she never missed a beat! She truly went above and beyond to make our brunch special. My Bestie says five stars all around, and our Guy Bestie said "all my stars, all out!" Thank you, Reagan, for making my birthday brunch so fun and memorable! That's 15 stars all round read more

Came back to dine in this time! Great service. It's so cute inside, love the deco. I tried the Chilango with verde sauce. I've never even heard of such a dish before and it was SO GOOD. It was everything I've always wanted without knowing I wanted. It was a little hefty on the price at $22- uncharged from the menu's listed $18- due to our eggs situation but honestly, it was worth it. It was perfect. As always, I have to try the matcha so I got an iced matcha with Oat milk- delicious as well! Gotta do a sweet treat with savory breakfast, hence the pistachio pancakes. They were so fun looking, bright green with strawberry jelly drizzled on top. The actual pistachio flavor was very faint, I think I would've liked more. Definitely recommend this place! So many goodies to try. read more
Great service, delicious food. I waited 30 min for a table, once seated the food came out pretty quickly, hot and fresh. Service was great, all of the staff worked as a team so everyone was very attentive. There are so many delicious items on the menu. You'll want to try everything..and the portions are huge and shareable. My only reason for minus 1 star is the outside seating area in in between a lot of vegetation which had folks swatting Japanese beetles,flying and gnats while trying to enjoy your meal. I think they should have some ethical deterrent around or mesh on the outside of the tented eating area to keep the bug at a distance. Yes, folks were capturing the beetles and releasing them but more woul come. Nonetheless,I so enjoyed my meal and plan to return very soon. The experience from start to finish was excellent. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our waitress Alma made sure we were taken care of. Speedy service and food arrived right away even though it was a busy morning. Their coffee flight is highly recommended and highlight of the menu for those that like to have options. Unfortunately, the birria omelette was a major disappointment and didn't live up to expectations. The drinks were just okay, nothing special. Met a friend from Vegas she came to Ca. For the long weekend. Someone recommended Madres Brunch. Well it was a little bit disappointed was really looking forward to a nice meal with her. My little one got the 3 pancake order .. they were super chewy I kept trying to cut them in pieces since she's only 4 and boy they would not cut through. I ordered the steak and egg. Asked for steak medium and eggs sunny side up. They were both over cooked. Steak was bland. My friend ordered the French toast was super dried. She also ordered the green chilaquiles she told me to take must of them home. Her husband ordered some sampler item. He didn't looked like he was happy either but I didn't want to ask him. Regular coffee was just ok too. I only took like 2 sips. Service was great but that was it for today. Was looking forward to a nice brunch. But fell very short. Bathrooms needed a clean up. read more
Had to check this place out and understand what the hype was all about. I must say, this place was worth the hype. Great food and ambiance. It has a vibe to it. Worth visiting over and over again. The place was bustling with people. We ordered the vegan Chile relleno omelette, Chilaquiles rojos, Cappuccino with oat milk and hot chocolate. Food was very, very delicious. Their portions were good and can be filling depending on what you order. Loved that they had a vegan section on their menu. I felt as if they were less on staff. Their staff were extremely busy. This place is a must try on the weekend ! The vibe inside is fun and laid back ! They play great music ! The staff is friendly and the service was great ! You will wait for at least 30 minutes for a table especially if you have a large group but the wait is worth it ! They have mimosa and coffee flights which are delicious ! A must try ! They have some specialty pancakes and French toast . My favorite is the birria omelet and the breakfast potatoes are good too - nice and soft but with a good crunch . If you want something healthy you can order some eggs and chicken breast with avocado or avocado toast and let me tell you the toast is so thick it's like eating 3 slices of bread and so soft and yummy almost like eating a croissant. Not only did I enjoy the food but I enjoyed the atmosphere I will be back for sure forgot to mention they have a secret menu also read more

Do they take reservations?
No unfortunately this restaurant is first come first serve type of place but the wait is usually only 30 -45 minutes depending on what time of day you go .
What is the parking situation? Is there a lot, structure, or street parking?
Meter parking and on Sundays it's free, but if you can't find anything there is a paid parking 🅿️ lot on the corner of Elm and 1st street which is half a block walk.
