Service was terrible for being a weekday. It was not busy at all, we sat outside. We selected some of the popular dishes but taste/flavor was just average. First and last time we will go to Madres Brunch.
Such a beautiful Sunday brunch at Madre's! I sat outside on the patio, and it was the perfect setting for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. I had the pistachio latte, which was delicious and such a nice change from my usual coffee, along with the steak chilaquiles. The chilaquiles were flavorful, filling, and the steak made them even better. Great food, beautiful outdoor atmosphere, and a wonderful place to enjoy a slow Sunday brunch. I'll definitely be back!
I would definitely come here again. Eggs & Hashbrowns were ok, bacon & toast was good, coffee was better and the pancake was the best. Our server was awesome! He seemed to be doing everything by himself. One man team. I wouldn't be surprised if he was doing the cooking too. I loved the decor. The neon signs were pretty cool. See you soon.
My friend and I came here on a weekday for brunch. It was so cutely decorated inside and our server was so sweet and very attentive! For the food, we shared the birria omelette and the madres chilaquiles. They were both packed with lots of meat and so delicious. The chilaquiles were crispy although some were soggy in the middle because of all the toppings. The salsa was good and it came with two eggs which was perfect for our sharing! The birria omelette was also good but a bit dry and I thought that it could have used a bit more cheese. My friend and I still finished everything though and it was a fun spot to try out!

I wanted a Horchata latte and saw this yummy menu and decided to give it a try. The food speed was average. Coffee was flavorful. Interior was Instagram-able and fun. I would go back. But I think I would get something a little more chill. Everyone's plates around me had a lot going on too. If you want something for the gram or a big plate of food come try this spot.
Decided to walk over for breakfast. Was immediately greeted and sat. Waitress was Amazing! All of the help here was phenomenal. You could tell this quaint little place was home to locals. The setting was adorable. The food came out immediately. And was Outstanding!!!!!!! No misses. I ordered a regular waffle with strawberries. They were so fresh and the waffle flavor was so tasty. My other half ordered simple 2egg breakfast. Look at that toast. I mean it looks like they baked it fresh that morning. You will not leave hungry. This place has got to be among my top 5. Loook at the cute design on our lattes. And these were one of the "BEST" lattes I have had.

The ambiance was a bit loud with the music they had playing inside so it was a nice day outside to sit down instead. We got the Belgian waffle $18 and the mazapán latte with soy milk plus whip cream $8+ $1 soy milk. The waffle was good, they give you two so we split it. It comes with fresh fruit like strawberries and bananas and blueberries. It comes with whip cream and butter. The mazapán latte was hot, my choice by the way, they have it cold too. It was very sweet, it's popular item but very sweet. For two things it was $29 plus tip. Kind of pricy for a waffle and a coffee. Parking is meter parking, two restrooms inside.
Food was great, service was good my only complaint is parking, which was warranted on a Sunday morning... music was playing on the TVs like a real DJ. We had some delicious omlettes, a huge latte/coffee! Will definitely return!

The food is really good and plentiful. Since it was brunch, I got the Mimosa Flight which is 3 mimosas of orange juice, cranberry juice and pineapple juice - so fun! I just wish I had chosen a different dish than the Divorsados, not because they weren't good because they delicious but when our table got the French Toast dish with ice cream, I knew I should have gotten the waffle. LOL The staff is super sweet as well. They were very attentive. We sat outside which was very nice. The weather was perfect. I can't wait to go again.

If I could give this place more stars I would. The atmosphere is quiet and smooth, the service was hands down the best I've had in a long time. The restaurant is clean and the server we had was careful with allergies and cross contamination. We would recommend this place to everyone. The food was the best part

I'd been to the Whittier location, which was very small, only to find a much more spacious location here. For a Sunday at brunch time, the restaurant wasn't very busy and we were sat right away on the patio. Our server was super sweet and they have a wide selection of coffee beverages that we partook in. Everything we had was good and with good portions of meat. Prices were what they are these days - about $150 for four people, each with a drink, and an extra entree to share. I have many places yet to try but Madres will remain a good choice when I'm not feeling adventurous to try something new.

Had such a great brunch here! The vibe is bright, colorful, and fun -- great energy throughout the place. Big menu with tons of pancake, waffle, and French toast options, plus a solid drinks selection (teas, coffees, smoothies). No Bloody Marys, but they make up for it with michaladas, which was a nice surprise. They also had a few choice for mimosas and even fun mimosa flights. I got the steak and eggs 8/10-- really good. My friend had the huevos rancheros 8/10 and loved it. Our server Abel was awesome -- super friendly and checked on us throughout the meal. Lively, popping atmosphere with great food and service. Definitely recommend for a good brunch spot! read more

Disappointed!!!!! First the table was sticky with jam. Very dry birria omelette with oil for consomme! They forgot the egg for the chilaquiles. Photos on menu dont look the same/similar to what they served us today. We were here last year and it was great, unfortunately the food and service has declined. read more

Very disappointed with our experience at Madres in Long Beach. When we arrived, we waited quite a while before anyone came to seat us. We were then told that we were no longer allowed to sit inside and had to sit outside because it was after 1:45 PM. We explained that it was extremely hot outside and there were a lot of flies, but we were told that sitting outside was our only option. What made the experience even worse was the attitude of the manager, who was very rude and insisted that this was their policy because they close at 2:30 PM. In my opinion, telling paying customers that they have to sit outside in uncomfortable conditions simply because the restaurant is preparing to close is ridiculous. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the experience. The French toast arrived burnt to a crisp, and the portions were surprisingly small considering that many of the plates cost over $20. We honestly found ourselves laughing at how little food was on some of the plates. There are plenty of other brunch spots in the area offering better portions, better value, and a much more welcoming experience. Very disappointed. Definitely not worth the price, and we will not be coming back. read more
Great Mexican brunch spot with amazing food and drinks! The mimosas were perfect and so refreshing, and the chilaquiles were exactly how I like them crunchy, not soggy at all. Everything had great flavor, the service was good, and it's in a really nice area. I'd definitely come back again! The ambiance is calm too but they have nice upbeat music playing inside! We came at 8:45 am on a Saturday morning. We were the first people here. Greeted immediately upon entering. This is a super fun place because they change the menu so check out their Instagram to find out what their monthly specialities are!! I ordered the Michelada with Modelo. Very refreshing, and yes I know it's 8:45 in the morning but I'm on vacation! Boyfriend had a flight of coffees: abuelita which was very chocolatey, pistachio( which tasted soo good!!) and marzipan! For my breakfast I ordered the salmon toast. It was so delicious! Fresh salmon! Fresh ingredients! Boyfriend had the Baja Omelette. He was very impressed with house fresh and delicious it tasted!!! As we were leaving this place was getting much busier. It seems like a really fun spot to bring friends and they have large tables to accommodate. Went here for my birthday brunch and the food was actually pretty good. Let's start off with the Madres chilaquiles, the meat is birria and with the red sauce. I would give it a 7.5/10, I wish the tortillas were extremely soggy so it could have a crunch to it. The birria meat itself was pretty good. I also wish they added more of the chicharron topping. The pastor omelette was a 8.5/10, the meat was also good and well seasoned. The birria omelette was a 9/10! Switched the sides to hash-browns and it was better. The hazel waffle was also a good waffle, their waffles are pretty thick here tho! Margarita flight was delicious! If you want to order a latte, order the mazapan latte! Iced or hot, either way it's delicious! If you don't like caffeine, the strawberry horchata latte was AMAZINGGGG! Service- was a 10/10. We waited about 5 mins on a Sunday. We got seated quick, drinks and food were served to us quickly. Waiters & waitresses were friendly and attentive. Ambiance- cute vibe inside, not as spacious as I thought but decent amount of space. This is my kinda spot and I wish we lived here cause I'd be here all the time. We arrived at our hotel and rooms were not ready so we decided to stroll around town and find a coffee shop to hang for a bit. We walked in here and they had the house music blasting away, a group of gals were having a birthday party and it was super cute inside. Sat down and order up some lattes and the most delicious and funky pancakes I've ever had!! Horchata latte was really delicious and had a wonderful cinnamon flavor. Chica Bonita for the abuelita chocolate latte and the hearts were so adorable! Excellent chocolatey flavors and such a treat! The Wilma pancakes are OMG Fruity pebbles mixed in the pancake batter then they serve up the condensed milk table side and it's delightfully delicious! Sticky sweet and crunchy goodness. My girlfriends and I came here yesterday for brunch and we had a good experience with our food. They have mimosa flights, Michelada flights, and margarita flights. Aesthetically speaking, everything looked very nice. It's a cool vibe in there and they definitely have many breakfast item favorites for everyone. They even had a vegan section which was impressive. The only thing that I really disliked about this place was the volume of the music. It was so loud in there on a Sunday morning, I was screaming over the table to have a conversation with my girlfriends. I don't mind music playing in the background, but that high volume was really unnecessary. I felt like I was in a club! Note to the owner(s) and members of staff, turn down the volume. read more

Came here on a Sunday for Brunch around 12pm. Upon walking up, it was a line lol but tbh, we were seated within a good amount of time. We decided to sit outside on this particular day. I ordered a mimosas flight and the Birria Omelette. The Birria Omelette was tasty, just needed to add some salt 8/10. In regard to parking, there's metered street parking. It was a sunday so parking was free but please keep in mind, it's long beach so you know you may be searching for a minute but it's worth it. read more

This place was wonderful! The food was delicious, the space and decore was nice and the environment was welcoming. We had a large party and celebrated my graduation there. All of the staff were sweet and attentive. Our waiter was so kind! He checked on us often and made me feel so special on my special day. I had a horchata latte that was spectacular. Food was unique in their own way . Different appearance than any other Mexican restaurant I have ever seen. Food was good . Breakfast is their specialty . What a great new find. Little on the expensive end but good to try. Service was average . Inside was decorated very cute. I must say their restroom is for All gender and it was not very tidy. June 28, 2025 | Long Beach | While in Long Beach & craving a bite to eat, I looked on Yelp & discovered Madres Brunch! What a fun find! Dubai Chocolate Pancakes | Fluffy, plentiful & I loved the colorful drizzle on top of the pancakes! As to flavor, not my favorite! However, the pancakes were unique & worth a try, because it was on the special menu and for a limited time! Something about the pancakes were a bit dry, even with syrup. Decor | Vibrant & festive, upbeat energy as well! I absolutely loved it! Butterflies, hummingbirds, and chandeliers, oh my! Hahaha! It's so pretty inside! I found myself looking around often! Customer Service | Wildy friendly, and attentive, even while the place was incredibly busy! Parking | My great friend, and I easily found parking at a nearby meter! Overall | Yes! I would easily return and try something new! Not every dish will be for everyone! Customer service was amazing and the decor alone is a plus! I'm looking forward to trying more on the menu, as well as returning to this festive brunch spot! read more

I'm not a breakfast person but this place has been on our radar for some time. We finally took my partners' parents to try it out! They had a special Dubai chocolate pancake and we couldn't resist getting it. Pancakes were huge, and the toppings made it very decadent. My partner loves pancakes and he loved it! I got the special birria sandwich which was nice and flavorful, consommé on the side was savory and spiced. The parents also enjoyed their oatmeal and breakfast plates. The horchata latte was sweet and tasty - My partner wasn't a fan because it was too sweet for him, but he is a true coffee drinker and prefers no sweeteners in his coffee. if you have a sweet tooth like me, you'll like it! read more

This rating is partially my fault--I came here for what I wanted vs what I needed. I'm in Long Beach for a conference so I needed a healthy breakfast and WiFi to get some work done. First, upon entering the establishment there was no air conditioning. Pretty stuffy so I requested to sit outdoors. Is the south the only region of the US that does air conditioning?! I was initially attracted to Madres by the delicious-looking photos of their breakfast, but I didn't order any of their fun coffee flights, waffles, pancakes, or French toast, so I don't feel like I can speak to what they do best. I instead went for the fruit salad--I barely ate any of it because the fruit was mediocre, there was no need for the mounds of nuts, and the yogurt/granola was not good. No one knew the WiFi password and the password I was given by 2 different servers didn't work. I tried multiple iterations they suggested with no luck, so I had to settle for my personal hotspot. The last miss here was that there were nuts in my latte, no warning. I understand that marzipan is an almond paste, but what happened to just using flavored syrup? Chopped & ground nuts at the bottom of an iced coffee--gross! read more

We decided to try this place based on the highly rated reviews, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. After placing our order, we waited about 20-25 minutes for our food, only for it to arrive cold and tasting like it had been sitting in the back. The steak and eggs were ordered medium well, yet came out extremely red and undercooked. We sent it back, and even the second time it was still not cooked correctly. To make matters worse, there is an additional charge for any condiments you want to add. The staff is semi friendly but service is slow. Overall, the food quality and experience did not live up to the reviews or expectations. read more

Definitely recommend stopping here for breakfast/brunch if you can! It was only a 5 minute wait to get seated which was shocking being how busy it was. Shared everything that was ordered because I wanted to try as much as possible. Everything was absolutely amazing. The green verse chilaquiles and strawberry pancake was 10/10z I will definitely be coming back if I'm in the area again! read more
Had the opportunity to try Madre's Brunch yesterday morning after my morning run with friends. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast with bacon and sourdough toast. My friend ordered the Birria Chilaquiles that by the way looked amazing! The service was a bit slow at first we waited about 10 minutes after being seated for our menus, and another 10 minutes for our water and to order drinks. Speaking of drink we ordered the classic mimosa flights they were delicious, I did think they were a little over priced for only 3 mimosas in the flight but I guess I've seen worse! Lol my only complaints were that my bacon was over cooked boarder line burnt and the service started out a little slow. Other than that breakfast was delicious and the staff was so nice! Definitely give them a try if you're in the area! read more

No unfortunately this restaurant is first come first serve type of place but the wait is usually only 30 -45 minutes depending on what time of day you go .
What is the parking situation? Is there a lot, structure, or street parking?
Meter parking and on Sundays it's free, but if you can't find anything there is a paid parking 🅿️ lot on the corner of Elm and 1st street which is half a block walk.
