So delish! I don't eat meat so I was glad they had a good amount of veggie options. The mushroom pho was soooo nice. Perfect for a rainy day. Staff were fab!

Pretty decent Vietnamese food here ... tried the pho & banh khot and it was pretty good .. will come back try their banh xeo

What a great spot! We enjoyed everything we ordered, including the spring rolls (super flavorful), the tofu appetizer, the crab and shrimp noodles (forgot the name), and the Madame pho (forgot to photograph). We also got the wings, which my husband enjoyed but I thought was too spicy. We made a reservation just ti be safe and good thing since we got the last table!

Great pho spot in the city. I wish they put more noodles, though. Ratio was kinda off, and I was done with the noodles way before I was done with the meat. Great taste and broth though, hope to be back soon!

I do really like this spot but I have many places to compare to since I love soup. I ordered Bun Bo Hue lemongrass soup and the broth just didn't hit. It wasn't bad, just not outstanding. The amount of meat was impressive however. It's a big portion! I like the N/A drink menu as well. I ordered fresh coconut and it was very refreshing. Inside the restaurant smelled so good..so I know I have to try more dishes. This won't be my soup spot but I want to find out their strong suit. Will be back

Came with some friends and had a great time - cozy restaurant. Their signature pho with short rib was amazing. Service was attentive.

Great spot if you're craving something light, refreshing, and Vietnamese! I came here about twice in one month because it was just that good. The banh xeo is perfectly crispy, but not too oily. With the pickled vegetables and fish sauce, each bite possesses a burst of flavors. Portions are large, so I'd recommend sharing! (we split among 3 people) The vermicelli bowls are delicious as well. The meat is perfectly tender and vegetables are fresh. However, my only critique is that they could give more noodles... The garlic noodles were also delicious but not worth the premium price in my opinion. They are also on the heavier side, and can probably be shared by two people! Seating is limited with small tables placed close together so I wouldn't recommend choosing this spot for larger groups as it will get a little cramped. Servers are friendly and helpful. Be warned that the air conditioning is not very strong, so don't dress too warm in the summer!

I've been telling everyone I know. Vietnamese food in NYC sucks. If you're from a place that has a lot of Viet food and come to this city to try Vietnamese cuisine get ready to get disappointed. First all the batter for the banh xeo was soft and the flavor of the fish sauce had too much vinegar. The bbh tasted like the paste that you can get from the freezer of an Asian market. No depth . I also didn't taste the pungent flavors from the shrimp paste. And there was only two type of meat in this dish. I feel like the owners here care more about the plating than flavors. Seems like a theme in NYC.

Food is good but overpriced for the portion size. I thought the tet noodles were yummy, as was the bo luc lac. The fried rice also had a very nice char and smokey flavor that I haven't encountered before, The braised pork wasn't very special, and I was expecting much more from the caramel and pineapple sauce. Service was good but it felt like they were trying to rush us out. We made a reservation as we were a large group and were seated with no troubles. A decent experience overall, just wasn't super sated.

I've ordered takeout from here before and enjoyed it, and decided to go for dinner with my friend to see how it is in person. Even though it was pretty busy we were able to walk in on a weekday night at 7 pm. As usual the madame pho was delicious. I decided to get the short rib, while my friend didn't add anything to hers. It was kind of hard to eat the short rib without a knife, though it was my bad for not asking. It was just a bit too much meat for me, but the rib was tender and delicious so I am glad I got it.

Clarisse T.

visited here last year and forgot to write a review only posted pix, have to say my crab noodle dish and was good, pho was pretty bad, and overall i'd say just about 3.5.

Banh Xeo

I hardly ever get pho when I crave viet food, but this bowl has truly changed me. the madame pho bowl has extremely tasty meatballs, which is my favorite part of this dish. This is also the first time I have ever tried banh xeo, and it has become a staple for me whenever I visit vietnamese restaurants (whatever they add in that fish sauce that comes with it is so tasty!) Workers are always so fast with taking our order and accommodating me + my group whenever I visit. 4/5 times I've been here, I didn't have a reservation, but they always try their best to either get us seated at the bar or make things work out for us so that we're not waiting for too long. this place is always busy no matter what time, so let that be a testament to how tasty it is! The restaurant itself is pretty cozy, but it extends a bit into the back for more seating. they play a lot of great music, too!

Really delicious pho here at Madame Vo. We ordered the, + summer rolls (Goi Cuon) -- light refreshing, not much flavor + Bun Bo Hue which is a spicy lemongrass broth with meats. It was really delicious not too spicy but very flavorful. The noodles were thicker than o typically like but still a solid soup + Madame Pho with short rib. Their short rib is huge! I didn't get to try it but it looked like it was a fan favorite because many people ordered it around us. + SOTO sake-- delicious and some of the best sake I've ever had would definitely get it again. Our waiter was friendly. Highly recommend booking a reservation so you aren't waiting. The place gets busy. The seating is cozy it's a small restaurant but everyone isn't packed in super tight like sardines. Check it out if in NYC

They have a few tables outside but with the cold weather, not sure about that. I doubt dogs are allowed inside the restaurant unless its a service dog.

I can't find any reservations online, will I still be able to get a table if I come without one?

It was pretty busy. Best to call and make a reservation.

Are any of the pho options gluten free?

Yes

Will the lunch special be available during Black Friday? (11/23)

Do you need a reservation in order to come?

You don't, but if you're coming during a typically busy day it is advised.

What are the best things to order here? I'm definitely getting Madame pho

The madame pho is a must if it's your first time. With the short rib if you want to splurge a bit and like meat.

Can I add a short rib on the lunch special set of the madam pho menu?

I believe you can for extra $.

The food always arrives hot, is always well packaged and tasty. My personal go to is the SHAKING BEEF Bo Luc Lac Stir fried Angus steak cube) bun. It is served Served w. Side Salad & Nuoc Cham: (Romaine, Cucumber, Pickled Mustard, Grape Tomatoes, Carrots & Daikon). I appreciate the choice of Vermicelli rice noodle, Thai Jasmine rice or Solely Salad. I always choose rice and the packaging is amazing, the beef is kept seperate from the rice and arrives hot and aromatic. My mom also loves this dish but ordered it with the solely salad and opts for double veggies. We have also tried several of the bahn mini including the lemongrass chicken, the brisket and the braised short rib. All are tasty. I do recommend adding the dip for $1 as it really takes it to the next level! I ordered the lychee iced tea sweetened today. It was sweet but not too sweet which I appreciated and as with everything from 5ive spice very thoughtfully packaged in a way that there is no leaking in transit. 5ive spice has some great all day and happy hour specials, I look forward to trying their food in person when I am in the area. Customer service: One time, on a particularly busy weekend in NYC, I received the wrong bahn mi sandwich. I ordered the brisket bahn mi and received the lemongrass chicken. When I called 5ive Spice, I spoke to the manager John who was incredibly apologetic and explained it was a very busy night, without offering excuses. He offered a full refund and invited me to order again and call and he would include a complimentary bahn mi. For what it's worth, it was a very busy night in NYC, all of the restaurants we were trying to get take out or delivery from were quoting 2+ hours, and John handled the situation perfectly. The food we received was tasty and did arrive on time.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. Decent, but the wait and price make it hard to love. Might try again if they speed things up.

After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.
