Appetizer Platter ($15) one of each of the spring roll, Vietnamese spring roll, chicken and beef satay, and sugar cane shrimp
    Risa H.

Phoshime has a good mix of Japanese and Vietnamese menu items - their Banh Mi is pretty good and their sushi is decent. I order directly from their website as opposed to Grubhub or any other third party app because the prices are a bit cheaper if you order direct. The Appetizer Platter ($15) is a good mix of everything - one of each of the vegetable spring roll, Vietnamese meat spring roll, chicken and beef satay, and sugar cane shrimp. The worst thing on their menu is definitely the calamari - it was overly oily; I tried to air fry it to make it crispy again but the amount of oil that seeped out was disgusting that I threw the entire thing out (the calamari also didn't taste fresh). Overall a solid spot if you want a good mix of Japanese/Vietnamese food in Kips Bay!

    Short rib pho

Came on a Monday night after work, wasn't too busy. Very cozy and comfortable. Ordered the short rib pho! The short rib came out on a separate plate and it was huge! It was so fatty, lean and well seasoned. The broth was rich, flavorful and piping hot! Highly recommend the short rib pho! It has bar seating with a full bar as well as booth seating, sushi area and a back area. I'll be back again.

Delivered well, nothing spilled. Pho was good star anise flavor was a little too powerful but besides that good. Will be ordering from here again. Spring rolls was good as well.

this place is definitely not talked about enough! came here on a monday evening and weren't many other customers there, so service was extremely fast and friendly. the restaurant is tucked away in the middle of cross streets, but can definitely say I will be back. the pho itself was extremely flavorful, and I was surprised at how inexpensive this place was, considering I asked for extra meatballs in my dish! they had a wide variety of sushi entrees as well, so I would be interested in trying those as well. restaurant is dimly lit with a cozy atmosphere.

    3 sushi roll lunch special

I came here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The have lunch specials on the last page which usually include salad, soup, or spring roll. My friend and I ordered the 3 roll (eel avocado, shrimp tempura, spicy salmon crunch) lunch special and the Ban Xao (stir fried noodles) with chicken. The food was fresh and the lunch deal is pretty good. I'll have to try the Vietnamese food next time.

We came here on a very cold night in early December on a whim. It was mostly empty but we also came in pretty late. WOW!!!! The food was amazing, the service was amazing and the restaurant is so cute. We had been out in the cold and walking around so we ordered a lot. The veggie egg rolls were delicious, they came out very hot. Then we had the sushi, one was a sweet potato roll and the other was a fish. I ordered the vegan pho and my partner had Pho Bo. We both loved our food and plan to visit again. This was some of the best pho we've ever had.

5 stars for the food, but I removed a star due to service. We were seated quickly and received our food at a reasonable speed, but I was really put off by the attitude of our server, Ashley. Maybe it was just an off day for her, but she was very curt with us and also told us there were no bean sprouts in the summer rolls when the menu said that there were and the summer rolls indeed came with bean sprouts (someone in our party has an allergy). The shrimp summer rolls were really good, some of the best I've had in the city (large size and had a lot of noodles). I liked my vegan pho dish as well (good amount of vegetables). Some folks at our table didn't think they had enough noodles in their pho, but I was good with my portion. The restaurant is pretty spacious, and has a good amount of tables. It's very clean as well.

    3 rolls takeout - yellowtail wasn't fresh :(

Got takeout from this place because I wanted something quick but wasn't sure about a fusion kind of place with Vietnamese and Japanese food. Got 2 sets of rolls, I'd say the raw fish isn't that fresh, so I'd skip anything raw if I ever come back. The other rolls were okay.

Really quality, inexpensive Vietnamese food! Came in around 8 PM. I didn't realize before but they actually have a happy hour until 7 PM, which I'll try to make in the future. I ordered a chicken vermicelli for $17. I didn't expect so much chicken, and the skewers were super tender and juicy too. Going to come back to try their sushi as well!

The first time I came in here, I left as it looked like there were no workers to welcome me or have me sit. I was just standing around, and after a few minutes, I bounced from the restaurant. I decided to go back after a few months and give it another shot. The service wasn't good, but at least I was able to get seated. I did see a sign outside saying there's a lunch special. I didn't know what I wanted until I perused the menu overl. However, I looked at the pho section as that's what I really wanted. I wasn't that impressed with the pho. The noodles were all stuck together. The broth was good, and I liked how they gave you jalapeños without asking for it.

Food had shards of plastic in it. The shards were found in ban mi. Called the restaurant to notify them and they were unfriendly on the phone. No apologies issued. Be careful.

Amazing Vietnamese cuisine with generous portions perfect for sharing! The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The service was outstanding--attentive, kind, and efficient. The waitstaff took the time to explain each dish's ingredients with great patience. We will definitely be returning!"

Ambiance was nice, staff was very friendly. We came for the pho and it hit just like we hoped. Perfect for the chilly weather and had nice deep herbal flavors. I also enjoyed the Thai iced tea, and the cha gio appetizer was a very interesting take on a spring roll. Would definitely recommend stopping by!

It's not your typical lychee martini. It has Aperol and pineapple, which gives it a great flavor. My only note is that I wish it were a bit stronger. For appetizers we had the yellowtail, which is a must get. It was delicious. We also had the lobster spring rolls, another great dish, and the crispy wontons, which were good but not my favorite compared to everything else. For our entrée we got the beef tenderloin, another must get. It was amazing, super tender, and melts in your mouth. We had it with the fried rice, which was solid. For dessert we had the ice cream sandwich, which was different in the best way and extremely delicious. It wasn't too sweet and the cone "buns" were perfection. Overall, this place is gorgeous and the food matches. I would definitely return. The service was also great, the perfect balance of letting you do your own thing and truly enjoy your evening while still checking in. It is pricey. We each paid $184 including tip, but it's definitely worth it for a special occasion or to spoil yourself a bit.

Best way to describe this is luxe Asian or bougie Chinese. If you are fan of top Chef it would be called soigné. We had three of the hot apps, Foie gras, lobster shumai with caviar and morel mushroom with spinach crystal dumplings. After that we're deciding between the quail and beef tenderloin wok dishes. Since the quail was spicy went with tenderloin which came with small serving of rice. All the food was great. I felt the crystal dumpling needed a kicked and they brought Out there house soy and hot vinegar sauce. For drinks I tried there mix of a classic martini with an old fashioned and after discussions with there somm who nicely recommended a more affordable bottle that would meet our needs got the Chardonnay by glass as a bottle. Enjoyed the meal though likely spent 5 times what usually spend on Chinese place mainly due to cost of alcohol. Place is well designed with a look similar to Butter downtown with the arched ceiling mixed with with the sound dampening feature of similar design of bar Boulod. Will return to try the quail and the lobster spring rolls and if they keep to this standard will increase rating to 5.

Their interior is a bit small, with only 4-5 tables, but it's cozy and inviting. Prices are reasonable here and portions are good. Although service was nice, our food took a while to come out. We got their soy garlic chicken, seafood pancake, and fried dumplings. Overall, we thought that the food was all okay. Although I enjoyed the chicken wings, my friends thought that the sauce wasn't very strong/lacked flavor and that the chicken was a bit too fatty. The seafood pancake was solid with lots of seafood in it and a sweet batter, but the sauce was a bit too salty for me (and it's the same sauce as the dumplings).
