    Flank Pho
    Claire M.

Not bad, not great. Four stars for decent food, but good price. I got the Pho ($16) and it was not bad - the meat was a bit overcooked and the broth was not the most flavorful but the noodles were fine and with the sauces, it was decent. The Thai tea ($5) was good but a little light on flavor. The restaurant itself is pretty small so it's more meant for quick bites by yourself or with a very small group. And the service is just okay - the servers will mostly leave you alone for your meal.

Small space but very walkable from Bryant Park - and quite easy to get to. When we walked in around lunch time, we were immediately sat (we got lucky that there was one open table!) This place is so small that it's best for groups of 2-3, max 4. And I didn't notice a bathroom anywhere. As far as food goes, I had a beef brisket and flank pho no cilantro and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The coffee was probably the best coffee I've had in the city - would go back for it alone. The pho was just okay - the flavors weren't super strong or fragrant and I wish I would've had more lime & jalapeño. I would score this place 3.5 but since I can't do a half star, rounding up to 4!

Delicious pho!! The broth was super flavorful!! The beef portions could have been bigger but overall it was still a 10/10! Fast service and the soup itself was a huge portion (just the beef to soup ratio was off). Definitely a wonderful stop to warm up with some yummy pho!

This place is very small and only had about 5 to 6 tables, but the service move really quickly!! the menu also small but packed with a large variety of items. I had the flank and brisket Pho and the broth was exceptional! Everything is fresh and made to order. We also had shrimp spring rolls. This place is perfect for something warm and savory after being in the cold New York weather. I will definitely visit again.

    Flank & Brisket Pho

Not great. Ambience is minimal. Service is quick enough, as almost everything is premade and just assembled to order. Excited for the catfish banh mi but it was disappointing. Fish was dry. And that's gonna be the theme. I've had other banh mi and the cold noodles and all their meats(white meat chicken, thin pork) are dry. The only redeeming dish is the pho that I had once as takeout. It's not gonna have the complexity of higher end spots but it's acceptable.

Mystery meat in my veggie summer roll :(

Bare bones, affordable Vietnamese spot conveniently located one block from Bryant Park. Unfortunately, the summer roll ($8) was pretty bad and the banh mi ($11) was mid. The vegetarian option for summer rolls/banh mi/pho is tofu and mushroom, which is generally a combo I enjoy. However, the mushroom were kind of slimy, not very flavorful button mushrooms. Both my veg banh mi and my partners chicken banh mi were underwhelming - barely any cilantro, no sauce or paste, just a pile of pickled carrot & radish and the protein. The summer roll came with a decently tasty peanut sauce but was equally bland otherwise - maybe one sprig of mint in the whole roll, lots of noodles, and the tofu mushroom mix, which is even less pleasant chilled. It also had some mystery meat inside, which was a particularly unpleasant surprise for a lifelong vegetarian to bite into. I think pho is the move here, and beware cross-contamination if you have dietary restrictions/allergies.

Came here on a cold winter day, who wouldnt want a hot bowl of Pho to warm up. I came around 12:30 and the line was out the door. The wasnt to too long- maybe 10 mins. I came here not to long ago and was blown away but this time i knocked off a star because the beef balls werent the same from my last visit. It had some sort of gelatin-like thing in the meatball (could be tendons or something) but it was not my thing. I especially fell in love w this place last time because the beef balls didnt have that. Unfortunately this time it did and i added an extra order of beef balls because I assumed it was the same product as the last visit. I skipped out on the beef balls and had the rest of the noodles and broth which were cooked to perfection. I just know next time I should ask since you never know what you'll get.

    Steak pho

Pho restaurant near Bryant Park - a very small restaurant where you're squashed together in close proximity with every other table. There's beautiful wood beams on the vaulted ceilings which give it a nice homey feel, especially with the open kitchen concept. Vietnamese coffee is extremely strong. Steak pho is lovely - very good quality steak. Brisket was too chewy and tasted a bit old. No jalapenos come with the pho - also the soup isn't hot enough to cook the vegetables.

Got pho and a vermicelli bowl here, both were expected portions and good price for nyc. There's nothing spectacular about the spot but also means no surprises! Good spot for an inexpensive lunch, small restaurant but adds to the vibe.

Had the brisket and flank PHO , it was okay. This restaurant should be take out only due to not having a bathroom. They give you A HUGE bowl of pho and then don't have a bathroom, super inconvenient. Also had the duck spring rolls , 2 out of 10.

Grilled Chicken Pho Summer Roll Thai Ice Tea

Food is super yummy, pho was 16$ summer roll 8$ (I think) and Thai ice tea 9$ The food came fast not too long of a wait. The staff is nice and friendly The place has no bathroom and small but cozy.

This place is very close to my job, so I often find myself coming to this location for a quick lunch or dinner. This place functions both as a quick bite place or a take out spot. There is no restroom at this restaurant so if you need to go to a restroom, make sure you are aware about the washrooms in the area. Now the food, I do have to say and agree after eating here a few times is not the best, but compare this to the food truck that is close by. I think I would like this place a bit more. I normally get the dry vermicelli noodle with grilled shrimp, which is okay. There is the same price for different types of dishes at this restaurant. I seriously do believe that tipping is optional at this restaurant. If you decide to eat at this restaurant, there are tables for parties up to four people comfortably. Any more it will be too much. This place is also good if you're solo.

    Efficiency at its best

Authentic Vietnamese hole in the wall with fastest service anywhere in the world and with the northern Hanoi's distinctive tastes and welcoming cleanliness with four efficient men team serving over 100 customers in an hour with only eight tables that seats anywhere between four people to one customer! Their turnover rate is by far the most effective delivery of service industry I had ever encountered. They serve numerous takeout orders as well as serving sitdown customers without blinking an eye. The menu is simple quarter sheet with very few options and few details but clearly written and priced perfectly. No nonsense disclaimer or disclosures needed for this most efficient restaurant. Phó is beautifully made with enough ingredients to satisfy most grownup's appetite. The soup is mild and less salty than the most. The duck spring rolls are delicious but deep fried. The four stars are given because of the chlorinated NYC water taste permeated my Phó but the hot sauce hid the strong flavor from the NYC chlorine. If these young Vietnamese cuisine entrepreneurs just use the reverse osmosis to make their tasty soup, definitely five stars will be deserved! Overall solid four stars in the NYC.

Tortillas are made to order right in front of you, and the whole experience just feels authentic and joyful. I had the steak and pork tacos, my friend got chicken -- we went back for a second round. That says everything. A few tips for first-timers: -- Don't sleep on the quesadillas. Seriously. -- If you like crispy tortillas, order the tostada -- they deep fry it and the result is incredible. -- Get the Horchata. It's not overly sweet and pairs perfectly with the tacos. The staff is 10/10 friendly and efficient. Don't be intimidated by the line -- it moves fast. Case in point: on a rainy morning, there was already a line at 11:01 AM (the place opens at 11). People know what they're doing here. The atmosphere is relaxed. They have nice, authentic music playing at all times. Highly, highly recommend.

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall.
