    Minced pork rice bowl

The portions are huuuuge, for $11-12 bucks you can share with a friend/coworker. This place is cash only and they're always right across La Colombe on 40th. Staff are friendly and service is fast. Out of all the food trucks in this row, Pho Masters is my favorite and the Mexican truck is a close second. I'm stuffed!

Not only a great value, but also delicious! Bahn mi is big enough to split into two portions!

We stopped by here to grab a quick lunch and then sit at Bryant park. Didn't know what to expect. We ordered one lemongrass chicken noodle salad to share as we were doing a progressive lunch. It was delicious. Much bigger than expected for only $11. Also lots of protein and salad. Not overloaded with noodles. Pro tip: don't put the sauce in the chicken salad. Salad already has pickled carrots and very flavorful. The sauce is better as a side dip. Highly recommend this place. Perfect to take to the park and enjoy the sun!

This is a food truck right near Bryant Park. I was craving a Banh Mi, so we ordered 2 for 3 of us to share. We ordered the $12 version, I forget what it was called- grand Pho Banh Mi or something like that. They were massive! I love the pile of finely shredded carrots that were perfectly seasoned with a sweet rice vinegar and the meats were chunks of pork plus ham and others. They also have a hot garlic sauce that has a slight sweetness to it that complimented the sandwich well. 2 sandwiches are more than enough for 3 people to share, our bellies were happy and full!

Extremely disappointing. Worse bahn mi sandwich ever. There's generally YEARS long wait for restaurant-entrepreneurs to get a food truck license in NYC. It's so disappointing when these licenses are granted to subpar restaurants, such as this one. Not sure how this business has such a high rating from other customers. Especially on the sandwiches. With few options, you'd think they'd get a simple order as a pork sandwich right. Instead, they gave me a chicken sandwich with salami. I had also made sure there were cilantro in my sandwich, because the pork sandwich photo didn't appear to have it. Upon walking back to my office, and opening my lunch, I realized they got my order wrong. Rather than eating the wrong order, I went back and requested my order to be fixed. I also mentioned that there wasn't any cilantro, when I specifically made a point to ask for it. They said it was in there, but I mentioned it was barely noticeable. They gave me both sandwiches to take with me, as well as extra cilantro. But rather than putting the cilantro with my correct pork sandwich order, they put it into the chicken salami sandwich. I just switched it upon eating. Still a nuisance, nonetheless. Grilled Pork Sandwich: The bread is fantastic, but the filling inside is far below any recommendation, and subpar in taste. Meat was cold and rubbery. Poor flavor taste. Pickled veggies were grated, rather than julienne, leaving them soggy, rather than the crispy pickled goodness from better Vietnamese eateries. Way over packed with this, leaving too much of a soggy, pickled flavor when eating. Cilantro, cucumber, hot pepper were barely there. Hence, left out the 's' after each vegetable name. Cucumber was super soggy and limp. Think they pickled it, which I hated because it made the sandwich more soggy and overtly vinegary. Sauce was the worse part. I thought it was traditional sriracha sauce, which I LOVE. Only to find out it's plum sauce with mixed in hot sauce. Made the whole thing too sweet, and more soggy. Only tried tasting the chicken in the other sandwich, which is when I realized it was the wrong meat. Chicken was VERY dry, and also lacked flavor. The portion is fair for an $11 sandwich, but taste was not something worth walking an avenue block and 3 street blocks again to. Will not be back.

This Vietnamese foodtruck is a godsend for Midtown, which is a pho and banh mi desert. I stumbled on this truck when it was parked on 49th earlier this week. Though I was daunted by the long line, it moved quickly. They have their most popular dishes already bagged and ready to go, though others had to wait a while. I had a #1 pho and was handed it immediately after ordering. It was $10 (as are most dishes) and cash-only. My order was well-packaged and came with everything you need for an ideal bowl of pho: brisket, beef balls, noodles, cilantro and onion in the bowl; broth in a container; and bean sprouts, thai basil, jalapeno slices, sriricha, hoisin and lime on the side. It was tasty and super filling. I didn't find the broth to be anything special, though; pretty weak and had to lean hard on seasoning. The brisket also was a bit stringy (though their beef balls are exemplary). Will try out their banh mi the next time I see them and may upgrade.

I saw the Pho Master truck outside of 1221 6th Ave while looking for lunch on a rainy Monday. It was a little late so there was no line. I ordered the chicken pho which was ready pretty quickly. When I got back to my desk and opened the bag, I was surprised by how dark the broth was. I added it to the noodles to see how everything tasted before adding anything additional like the included hoisin, sriracha, or lemon. Their broth is so flavorful! No additions were needed! I added them anyway because I like the taste, but if it hadn't been included, the meal still would've been delicious. I didn't actually care for the texture of the chicken because I find that white meat gets overcooked easily in hot broths, but I would definitely go back to their truck.

The Banh mi from Pho Master is absolutely delicious!! It's hard finding a good Banh mi in the city, but this little food truck has amazing, authentic Banh mi. The cold cuts have a perfect texture (no chewy chunks) and the sandwich is filled nicely with pickled daikon and carrots. Although I'd prefer a bit more mayo/pate on my banh mi, the portion size makes up for it. I'll definitely pick up a sandwich every time I see the food truck at Bryant Park!

    Victor in the truck!

Love Pho and saw the truck in passing. Yelp reviews looked great and a customer waiting for his order r gave the place a thumbs up... decided to try. Victor and the lady in the truck were so kind and inviting. Got the lemongrass chicken salad and was delish! Came with dipping sauces. Sizable enough to split into two meals. A welcome addition to the area! Would recommend!!!

I saw the truck on W 40th St 6th Ave at 12:00 pm this Thursday. It was a cold day so I decided to order something with soup. The #1 pho master beef rice noodle seemed to be the best choice and I was happy that I ordered it. The pre-cooked beef slices were delicious, while the fried onions added a nice flavor to the soup.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. Decent, but the wait and price make it hard to love. Might try again if they speed things up.

I ordered "Plain Pho", which is described as just broth and noodles, no garnish or meat. After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.

So when my family stumbled into Pho 39, a tiny spot with just a handful of tables tucked away from the chaos outside, it felt less like finding a restaurant and more like discovering a Rebel outpost that somehow survived undetected in the middle of Imperial territory. The menu is exactly what you'd expect from a solid Vietnamese spot: pho, combination rice plates, the usual lineup. We were ready to order and move on with our lives. Then we saw the tacos. Vietnamese tacos. On the menu. Sitting right there between the banh mi and the spring rolls like they'd always belonged. Nobody in my family said anything for a full three seconds, which for us is basically a standing ovation. We ordered the duck spring rolls to start, which were fresh, well packed, and disappeared faster than a starfighter in hyperspace. For the mains we went with the beef flank pho and the banh mi combination special. The pho had a clean, well developed broth that clearly had some time put into it, and the beef flank was tender enough to make you slow down and pay attention. The banh mi combo was solid, balanced, and hit all the right notes. We did not get the tacos this visit, which means we have a built in reason to return and nobody can argue with that logic. For a small room in the middle of one of the busiest cities on the planet, Pho 39 manages to feel genuinely calm and focused.
