Service: 3.9/5 Food: 4/5 Price: $ (under $20) A rare find + a good change of pace from all the pizza/Italian options in the West Village. Classic hole-in-the-wall/mom-and-pop shop. Looks like an extensive menu, but it's really just the core items listed repeatedly with all the protein variations. Definitely immigrant-family-run- male server was friendly, while female server was purely focused on the job. Service is okay- not super attentive nor did they take note of our dietary restrictions. Also forgot our customizations (no cilantro, add an egg), so double check your bill. They initially tried to charge us for the added egg we never got (bc it was written on the ticket). They were nice about correcting the bill, though, + have one of the best cash preferred deals I've seen in any restaurant (not just the usual tax off). What I Ordered: Grilled Chicken Pho - Grilled Chicken: tender, comes on the side, well seasoned - Pho: large, not too oily or salty, strange inclusion of broccoli Cubed Flank Steak Over Rice - Steak: fragrant + tender - Rice: unfortunately, not broken rice Special Banh Mi: visually large, but mostly mediocre bread, crunchy veggies, + decent amount of meat (keep in mind I reheated it up at work)

Shaken beef medium rare cooked, delicious!

I've been here only once, but I was impressed with the dishes I ordered. The shaken beef had a lot of flavor in their marinade that goes very well with the rice and veggies. Tamarind soup was fresh, light and flavorful. Service was fast and food was fresh. I will be coming back.

Bun pork sausage

I ordered the Bun with pork sausage , tofu spring rolls and some beef broth and lemon tea. It was all middle od the rode decent but not outstanding. Small portions and they forgot my silver ware. Broth has leaked out in the bag and was less then half full. And overly expensive for the small portions.

Our go to pho place in the city. There are also a couple of other pho locations in the area but we keep coming back to this one. Food is great and authentic. Service is great and super quick too. Really nice for a quick comforting meal. Ambiance is fast casual but has a nice homey feel.

The broth in the pho is very oily and they put broccoli in it. They never did that before. It taste weird. Noodles are mushy and overall a bad bowl of pho. What happened to this place? They used to good. I spend about $30 tonight and the food was just simply not good. The broth is different from pre-pandemic. Just look at the the broth from before. This is sad how much this restaurant changed.

Pho Tai and Banh Mi

This is my most-visited NY restaurant by a wide margin. I haven't reviewed it for fear of bringing attention to it. I can almost always get a table without a reservation. I believe this is due to the popularity of a serviceable, but hip Vietnamese option nearby. This is the best Banh Mi I have had. I keep trying others, but the bread here is unmatched. I'm told they get it fresh from a bakery in Brooklyn. The spiced pork sausage they use is also perfect. The pho can b from exceptional to greatest of all time. I love this place with all my heart. Almost forgot the rolls! The cha gio are THE BEST. Not just saying that. They are the best in existence (US).

Food: I went to Saigon on a Saturday night with my boyfriend. I ordered a p3 and he ordered a Vietnamese hot and sour young coconut soup with Shrimp. My pho dish was delicious with plenty of noodles. My boyfriend's bowl was huge and had so many vegetables. The service was great. They made sure we were okay a couple of times. Ambiance: There was a couple of people eating at the restaurant at the same time as us; it wasn't loud making it a pleasant dinner experience.

Best pho I've ever had! Everything was amazing from the soup to the service, in my opinion. 10/10

Three years later and honestly... it's gotten EVEN BETTER. The bahn mi SING, and the bread is unreal. The staff are always super friendly and the atmosphere just feels homey. I'd go as far to say this is one of my favorite places to go eat in the whole city. If Hello Saigon has no supporters, then I have passed away.

Great place with good food and good price. These three dishes can around just under $60 with tip and tax. It's a great place to replenish your energy after the New York marathon. Servers are very nice people!

The service was amazing and very nice people!! I've been there twice so far. Definitely will be going again!! The pho is so delicious and perfect for a cold day

Ambiance (4/5): The restaurant is bare bones but there is a cool graffiti mural art near the entrance. The place is open and not loud! We stumbled on 1pm Sunday and there was plenty of seating. Be aware that there are steep stairs to access the bathroom. Service (5/5): Since the place is smaller, there was plenty of staff around to assist with serving all the tables. Food came out fairly quickly! Food: Vietnamese Coffee (4/5): There is a strong espresso taste in this and the milk was Hue-style spicy beef and pork noodle (#9 Bun bo Hue) (4/5) - I ordered the which is more fish-flavor forward due to the shrimp paste. There was a variety of different cuts of meat in the large bowl and a great portion of it too! My sister enjoyed her #2 Beef Brisket Pho and tasted like your classic pho and noodles. I liked hers slightly more!

Ask the Community - Hello Saigon

Do they offer veggie or chicken broth as an alternative to the beef broth?

Sure do and the veggie broth is delicious. I had to keep asking every time if it wasn't chicken. Very flavorful!

This was my first time seeing one with roasted duck though. Just a heads up that the street felt a bit sketchy even though it's near the edge of Chinatown. We were unfortunately harassed by someone outside of the store and ended up giving him a few dollar bills... *Chinese Sausage Mala Wrap $10 ** The lap cheong was spread so evenly throughout that I got some in almost every bite. The mala aioli was quite spicy, but not overpowering or lingering. The crispy shallots added such a nice crunch too which I loved! *Duck Tsangwich $16 I was quite surprised that the roast duck skin stayed crispy! The crackly cookie topping could've been thicker since it was pretty flat. They give you chili oil on the side, but it was already super flavorful with the hoisin sauce. ((4.5 stars)) Sunny…read moreand Annie's is very much a 24/7 neighborhood gem of a corner store and deli. it's packed with packaged foods--candy, chips, cookies, ice cream, soft drinks, beer, and a lot more plus the deli counter serves ups an endless list of creative sandwiches. i am not going to say this place is cramped but it kinda is. for example, if people stand in the wrong areas of the store, it will cause a complete standstill of a traffic jam in the store. my advice: order from the deli (and stand somewhere people aren't trying to get to) or grab whatever you need, pay, and leave. this place is not a place to linger. keep it moving. anyway, the obvious draw of Sunny & Annie's is the endless list of sandwiches that are handwritten cards that are stuck outside glass of the deli counter. there is literally something for the pickiest eaters--from hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, wraps, and more. some sandwiches are named celebrities, politicians, etc. i have ordered a bunch of different sandwiches and have not made it through much of the menu. you can also create your own Frankenstein monster of a sandwich. while the sandwiches are a big part of the draw, the insane amount of snack foods crammed into the store is quite remarkable from the large stand of Doritos, Takis, Cheetos and other popular branded snack foods in the front to the separate stand of Wise snacks to an entire back corner of the store filled with all kinds of chips, popcorn, etc. imo, Sunny's has the freshest-tasting Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn. i know an insane take consider it's a packaged popcorn snack from a megacorp (PepsiCo), but i'll die on this hill. maybe it's cause Sunny's sells a lot of Smartfood popcorn so it gets refreshed often, maybe they have a secret in/pipelinbe from the factory, or it's just magic/alchemy. i don't know, but the Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn never tastes stale-ish like it does at grocery stores, the bags never feel deflated because they have been on shelf long, and the popcorn never has that soft mouthy feel but still has the crunch to it. maybe it's just me, but Sunny's serves a great list of sandwiches...AND the freshest Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn. beyond the snacks, the service from the deli to cashier is upbeat and friendly. in all seriousness, Sunny and Annie's is an Avenue B institution at this point and remains a charming family-owned store--and is NOT a sterile modern clone of a neighborhood business.

Maybe they should change the name to "Da Bomb", because it's that's good! Ever since my husband introduced me to this place almost a decade ago, I've been in love with their sandwiches. The chicken parm is definitely my favorite because there's nothing better than a hot sandwich on a cold day. Their chicken cutlet portions are always generous. We usually have them cut our sandwiches into quarters because we like to order a few different ones to share, such as the chicken parm and the Italian combo. We used to get them on their round semolina bread which was absolutely amazing, but unfortunately they don't make the round semolina anymore. The bread here is just top-notch, fresh, chewy, and delicious. They often sell out quickly, sometimes by lunchtime which tells you how popular they are. I almost don't want to write this review because I'm afraid it'll make the lines even longer and make it harder for me to get my sandwiches!

If you want a sandwich that earns your loyalty over decades, Parisi Bakery & Deli is that place…read more I've been eating sandwiches here for as long as I can remember, and the remarkable thing is how nothing has slipped--not the quality, not the care, not the magic. Every visit reminds you why Parisi has survived since 1903 while trends and neighbors came and went. Let's talk about The Dennis--the undisputed star and a true signature sandwich. This thing is a monster, built on Parisi's legendary fresh-baked bread that somehow stays crisp, chewy, and perfect no matter how much goodness gets piled inside. You get a crispy breaded chicken cutlet layered with thin-sliced prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and (if you know what you're doing) roasted red peppers. It's all brought together with their house balsamic blend and basil herb spread/pesto--bright, savory, and completely addictive. I cannot confirm or deny that the sandwich is named after me, but I can confirm it's flawless. Pro tips: * Cash only, old-school rules apply. * Come hungry or plan ahead--this sandwich is big enough to share or save half for later, and it still eats beautifully round two. * Tip the sandwich makers. These folks are artists, and the tip box deserves some love. Beyond the food, Parisi is living New York history. From its origins as an Italian bakery on Mott Street, to feeding generations of locals, to being famously beloved by Frank Sinatra (yes, the bread was shipped to California), this place is woven into the fabric of Little Italy/Nolita. Legends like De Niro and Scorsese are fans, and you can still feel that old-world soul--right down to the original brick oven relic resting in the basement. Parisi isn't just a deli. It's continuity. It's tradition. It's proof that when you do one thing incredibly well for over a century, people keep coming back. And once you've had The Dennis, you will too.
