Was in NY for work and one of my coworkers recommended this place. We were short on time but the staff told us they could get us in and out quickly. I'm glad we took them up on that. We all got the dry spicy oil noodles and we all loved it. The noodles had an amazing chew and bounce to them and the sauce was delicious. Highly recommend this location. read more

My friend loves this place, and I thought it was decent - not spectacular, but pretty good. The original beef noodle soup is slightly spicy, nothing crazy - even though I have little spice tolerance, it was just the right amount of kick and flavor. The portion was on the smaller side, wish they gave a bit more. Wish there was more beef as well. The noodles were tasty though. Not sure this would be my first choice when I'm back in the city, but it was a decent meal. read more

1915 Lanzhou Hand Pulled Noodles - N2.Original Beef Noodles Soup- - Noodles Near Me - New York, New York

Decent noodle joint for a quick bite, but nothing spectacular! My friend and I stopped by for dinner and luckily snagged a table right away. Service was a bit all over the place. We got our mains well before our drinks and apps. It was all over the place and hard to grab someone's attention. We got the Scallion Pancakes to share, which were crispy and tasty! I got the Spicy Oil Spill Noodles, which was certainly flavorful and spicy. I liked the chewy texture of the noodles. read more

There's always a like but it moves pretty quickly. The service is fast but the food tastes great. I got their classic beef soup and cucumber salad. I love a good cucumber salad! Their hand pulled noodles really tasted so great. You can truly just tell the difference with how fresh these were! I love that you can ask for different widths too! Definitely a good spot to hit if you like noodles! read more

We were in town for the week and made a point of making our way to Lanzhou Hand Pulled Noodles. It was a beautiful Friday in June so we walked from our Chelsea hotel and were seated immediately. We ordered the signature beef noodle dish with wide noodles, a pork "hamburger" , a coke and a Sapporo. The noodles arrived first and they looked great. We realized pretty quickly what the scissors are for: cutting the very long noodles before they were unmanageable getting them into your face or smaller dish. The noodles were nicely chewy and not too soft and the beef was tasty. The herbs and slices of crisp daikon were a nice addition and the broth was mildly spicy. I added more chili oil to my individual bowl. Nice! The pork burger was hot and had good flavor. Service was very friendly and prompt. The ambiance was quiet and calm. We will be back again soon! 8/10 read more

It was okay but like still good so like yea. Those noodles were also fire with that sauce.

Food: 4 Decor: 3 Service: 3 Came here for lunch with a friend. Overall, good beef noodle soup and would return. They have multiple locations in NYC. Signature lanzhou beef noodles, 15 ~4/5. Nicely prepared hand pulled noodles. Opted for wide noodles. Had a decent amount of heat for medium heat. Pan fried buns ~4/5. Nicely fried and served hot. Quite tasty and one of the better pan fried buns I've had. Service was fine. read more

We originally tried to go to 1915 Hand Pulled Noodles in Chinatown, but the line was long, so we pivoted and got our hair blown out around the corner instead. No regrets though, because we ended up going to their Midtown location near our hotel, which is actually the original. We ordered the braised dry noodles with the prism-style noodles (wide, chewy, and so satisfying) and the spicy noodle soup with thin noodles. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The broth was rich and well-seasoned, and the noodle textures really stood out in both dishes. I'd skip adding the egg next time since it didn't add anything special. They also offer yuzu sake, and we tried the Yuzumon, which paired really well with both the soup and the dry noodles. If you like heat, you can ask for extra spice from the back. Also, no peppercorns in the dishes, which I personally loved. read more

Good value food. You will be full and not broke. Staff are super accomodating. Food is prepared quickly. Super fast delivery--literally the quickest that the food can even be prepared! $17 Braised beef noodle soup is satisfying and filling. Big portion--they give you a loooot of broth and noodles! Look at the enormous container of broth! Easily can split into two normal sized portions. The broth was a bit too fatty for my liking. Once mixed with noodles, it became better. Additional $5 for added braised beef was worth it--the total amount of food could easily feed two or serve as two meals for one. Braised beef was flavorful and juicy--appreciated the quality. I asked for not spicy, yet the broth and the beef were spicy--I was dishing out the red peppe flakes and large chunks of ginger. If you don't like spicy, be aware that your sinuses will clear out, so grab some napkins. read more

Good Noodles. Even better marketing. My curiosity got the better of me when I kept hearing "Best hand pulled noodles in nyc". We were at the restaurant, we noticed that was the slogan on one of their bags -_-. I've been gotted. Overall a pretty great experience. Is it the best noodles? Not even close. Is it a great noodle? Yeah the quality's pretty great, I'd order a bowl again. Was the outdoor patio a quiet refreshing step outside of Manhattan's busy fast paced life? Yeah, this is where 1915 has all of their competitors beat. Most hand pulled joints are very functional, you go in, you order food on a cold stainless steel table, and you leave; 1915 you can take your time on an outdoor patio in the summer evening cooling temperature. It's a cute date spot. For the food, I order the Dry Pork Noodles and the wifey got something something spicy. She enjoys the fact that you can choose which noodle type because the type of people who like to come here have come with preferences for their noodles. I'm easy to please but I like the flexibility. And I'm glad I didn't get the spicy-- cause they didn't come to play. She chose medium and as instantly punishing as it was, it had this nice kinda sharp sour kick to it. Almost like a refreshing lemonade but rectally antagonistic. 10 out of 10 read more

Please dine in the restaurant for the full experience. I really enjoy the signature Lanzhou noodle soup with wide or prism noodles. The portions are very generous for the soup and the noodles. Also, I love their cold noodle, as well. Well priced overall. There may be a might so try to avoid lunch and dinner rush. I've dined here multiple times and I will probably come back to dine in. I don't recommend getting this place to-go or on door dash since they skimp out on the soup. I was disappointed when the soup didn't even cover the noodles all the way. The soup didn't fill up 50% of the deli container. Pretty disappointed. Im glad I tried this place in the restaurant first before ordering to-go read more

Hubs and I came here for lunch. I've been wanting to come here since I went to the location in Chinatown. This place is very tight and claustrophobic. When we got here, they wanted to squeeze us into a corner for a table for two. But, eventually, they took pity on us and moved us to a slightly bigger table. LOL. We shared the following: Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles- we ordered this because it wasn't available the day we went to their other location in Chinatown. We thought this was good and glad we tried it. Happy Pan Fried Pork Dumplings- this was surprisingly delicious and flavorful. We've had something similar to this in California and it was not as good as this place. We highly recommend this one. Wood ear Mushroom Salad- this was pretty good and freshly made. Hubs also got their Chinese herbal tea and liked it a lot. Place was quick and what you expect in a Chinese restaurant. Will return to try other items on the menu. read more

They should have told me they don't have xialongbao! Ordered the signature beef noodles(($15.95) , xialongbao ($14.95), and extra braised beef ($4.95). Except they don't have xialongbao (I ordered in mandarin). They should have told me this and instead of telling me they don't have the item, just brought me steamed buns. So not happy about this, I would have ordered something else. So for 2 mains and a side of meat, dinner ran $50. On the plus side, they were super accommodating when asked for extra bowls, or water without the mint and lemon read more

Walked in at around 7 PM on a Saturday and there was no wait, though the place was packed and there was a line outside when we left. My boyfriend and I shared the Signature Beef noodle soup, which was great, and the lamb Chinese hamburger, which was super spicy and flavorful. I mixed some of it into the soup and it was so yum. Not sure I'd rate this above other handpulled noodle places, but it's solid! read more

Hand pulled noodles had great texture and the braised beef was very tender, but I would have preferred more toppings. The amount of scallions and spice seems a bit inconsistent from bowl to bowl. I found my bowl to be too spicy for me, but you might be able to ask to adjust the spice level. It's a very small store and they don't take any reservations, so be prepared for a wait. They also don't offer tap water, so you need to buy something if you want a drink. read more

1915 Lanzhou Hand Pulled Noodles - Signature Lanzhou beef noodles - Noodles Near Me - New York, New York

One of my favorite Chinese noodle establishments in the city that is reliable, affordable, and consistent. I still prefer the Chinatown location as that one is a wee bit bigger (both restaurants are still quite small/a tight fit) and offers complimentary tap water. I don't understand how a restaurant that has a 99.999% spicy menu doesn't offer complimentary tap water, but I guess it is a smart tactic to get someone to pay for a beverage, would recommend BYOB. We ordered: Special Dry Pork Noodles w/Marinated Egg Stewed Beef Tripe Noodles w/Marinated Egg Scallion Pancake The marinated egg is not like the Japanese jammy ramen egg so I'd opt out of this additional cost. The photo vs. what you actually get for the pancake look very different, the appetizer itself is quite thin and you can't really see any scallions. We've always wanted to try the Prism noodle type and oddly enough it's not the thickest but rather the form is twisted like a prism, so not that impressive. There are some nooks and crannies that are comparable between this 1915 location and the Chinatown 1915 location-this one seems more forgiving and less strict on noodle types, but doesn't offer complimentary water. It is crowded in the restaurant but they do a good job of being efficient in getting people in and out! read more

If you didn't know how good this place is, you would walk right by it. Big shout out to YES members who took the time to share how great the food is here! The reviews don't lie! There was a line outside and it moved quickly. The wait was less than 5 minutes. Got seats at the counter and was able to watch them hand pull the noodles up front and personal. Service was excellent. The manager was so nice and he helped us pick the best dishes. Started with an order of Steamed Pork Buns. 6 big buns stuffed with pork and steamed to perfection. Could have stopped here but we didn't. Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles- a big bowl of beef bone broth with your choice of noodles and sliced beef. Fragrant and delicious. We chose Prism noodle for this dish and it was a perfect choice. Each bite was better than the last. Spicy Oil Spill Noodles - this is spicy - I love spicy food and I'm saying it's spicy ... it was very good. It's a vegetable dish. Thick noodles with plenty of fresh chili spice and small leeks. The noodles are the star here. It's a small unassuming place, super casual with the best noodles and soups. I can't wait to go back! read more

- Super fast take-out service; ordered the N3 handmade braised beef noodles with regular thickness and got my order within 5 minutes - Quick and efficient staff - Credit accepted; same price as cash - Take-out orders with soup are separately packaged; noodles and soup are in separate containers to "preserve texture and taste" - Excellent textured noodles; perfect chewiness/bounciness in every bite - Savory broth down to the last drop; don't forget the chili oil like I did! Not sure if there's an extra charge for it for take-out, but the waiter was nice enough to get me a container of it after handing me my to-go order - Good amount of beef; some pieces were more tender than others; would love a couple more pieces of veggies - Though it appears to be a hole-in-the-wall establishment from the outside looking in, there's plenty of seating inside; tall bar table outside, but gets hot in the sun read more

Wow, talk about an amazing meal! 1915 is the quintessential hole in the wall spot; so unassuming from the outside, but serving up culinary gold once you get to your seat. The space is small, don't expect much from the ambiance. But it is cool to be able to see into the kitchen, you can see noodles being hand pulled in real time. The lamb burger was the best I've had. Unlike other places serving similar cuisine, the bun here was doughy and light, and the lamb was perfectly spiced. The signature beef noodles were great. I went with the Chongqing Hot & Spicy noodles, and absolutely loved them. If you can handle spice, this dish will leave you sweaty and satisfied for sure. And at around $15 per entree, you really can't go wrong here, such a steal! I'll definitely be back soon. read more

Best place for fresh hand pulled noodles and a super hearty, tasty broth! Although the number one is their famous special, I personally really like their beef noodle soup. There are 6 different noodle textures to choose from - must like choosing pasta shapes for your sauce! The shapes range from thin to extra wide. I prefer the prism cut noodles where it has a chewy texture - almost the knife cut texture if you're familiar with Chinese hand pulled noodles. Some may also prefer the extra wide noodles, or even the original. Definitely coming back. Bowls here start at $15, and the dumplings also look mighty tasty! read more

The noodles at this restaurant were actually life changing for me. Normally, I am not the kind of person to eat soup/broth, but I decided to try my friend's braised beef noodles with the broth and they were AMAZING!!!!! I wish that I had ordered them. The broth was amazing and the noodles had the perfect texture. Highly recommend!!! I ordered the pan fried dumplings, and they were good! I also tried the pork and chive dumplings and really liked those. My friend got the scallion pancakes as well and they were delicious. Another big recommendation. They had Diet Coke cans which I loved. The space is small but cozy. We were able to immediately get a table. I know their other location can be really busy, so it was nice to get in right away. We came at 11 am, so we did not wait at all for a seat. There was plenty of take out and people coming in and out. They do have a bathroom downstairs as well. We have been to the Chinatown location as well and it is pretty comparable. We typically get the same thing - two bowls of noodles and extra noodles for the kid. We got the handmade braised beef noodles. The braised beef is moist, not dry like most places. I usually get "regular" cut noodles because are the easiest to eat for a kid. This is our go to spot of hand pulled noodles. Although it is crazy how expensive it has gotten nowadays. read more

Very yummy noodle place with authentic taste! We got the Traditional Steamed Pork Buns, Pork Chinese Hamburger, Braised Beef NoodleSoup, and the Pickled Cabbage Beef Noodles Soup, and everything tasted incredible on a cold winter day. For $53, it was so filling that neither of us ended up eating dinner later that day, which really speaks to the value you get for how much you're paying. My personal favorite was probably the Pickled Cabbage Beef Noodle Soup (it's the same as the Braised Beef Noodle Soup, just with pickled cabbage), as it reminded me a bit of the Noodle Soups I eat in Taiwan. Highly recommend and will definitely come back again! read more

This spot popped up on my feed from other foodies highlighting it well over a year ago so I had to try it myself to see if the reviews were legit. I got a takeout order of the handmade braised beef noodles (N3) and went with the thick size noodles. The flavor of the broth plus the tenderness of the beef plus the texture of the noodles was EVERYTHING I could have hoped for! It tasted like history...like a recipe that took time to perfect and then had been passed down unchanged for generations. Absolutely incredible beefy flavor with a slight kick. The service was quick and friendly. This particular location was cozy. I can't wait to go back and try something else with the wide noodles next time.
