    Shrimp Spring Rolls
    Austin L.

Last year I ate at their East Village location, but learned they also have one in Murray Hill! The dim sum and entrees here are pretty good and fairly priced, so I stopped by for a lunch and ordered: Steamed Crab And Pork Soup Dumplings Steamed Chicken Sui Mai Pan Fried Pork Dumplings Steamed Chicken Dumplings Shrimp Spring Rolls Sliced Braised Beef Noodle Soup Fried Rice Yangzhou-Style (Shrimp) Dry-Fried Green Beans With Minced Pork Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce Their soup dumplings and siu mai hit the spot! The other two dumplings dishes though were just okay. I love the fried rice here. It has so much flavor and was packed with fresh shrimp. The green beans are crunchy and addicting and the garlic sauce pork was saucy and had lots of veggies in there. Pass on the noodle soup. The waiters were a bit snobby at the beginning, but were nice after we paid the bill. It's a Chinese restaurant and I know how my people are, so I wasn't expecting amazing service from the start honestly. The place was empty when my friend and I went in to eat but it was lunch time. I am not sure if they get busy at night.

Stumbled upon it on way back from gym! Its very authentic food and vibe. Tried their spring rolls, hot and sour soup, orange beef and pork-all was so good but the orange beef was the bestttt! MUSt try! Service was very friendly and efficient. will defo go back.

It's a good place. The food is authentic, the servers are quick and very nice. The place is a nice local vibe even in the city and the prices are fairly reasonable. The xiao long bao was a bit think and needed a bit more flavor. The sweet and sour rubs came out quickly but were a little overcooked among them tough. The shrimp sui mai was good and had a nice size to them. I'm sure if I had other options, there would be better choices with great flavors. Still a good spot to try out.

The location and menu looked pretty authentic. Everything from the stewed fish slices to the crispy orange beef was spot on, with generous portions. However, the Xiao Long Bao was a bit lacking. I'm not sure if it was steamed too long or left in the steamer and prepped too far ahead of time, but about half of them came already leaking their broth. I also wanted to try their signature smoked carp, but they were out, as well as the sticky rice with chicken. That was disappointing, especially considering it was only 7 p.m. on a Saturday.

This place really has that authentic Shanghainese taste since there's a butt load of sugar in every dish. I enjoyed my eel noodle soup and the noodle was so silky like the one you get in Shanghai. The string beans were less fried than the usual ones at the Sichuan places which I really enjoyed.

Authentic cuisine in a cute environment! Hole in the wall place that's apparently been around for generations. The service was excellent and speedy. Not super Americanized, which is a plus in my book. Price is steeper than its competitors, so I would reserve it for a nicer night out in the future.

I love Chinese food but sadly I don't speak Chinese cuz I'm illiterate but I still appreciate their food They had some of the juiciest buns ever

I chose this place due to the solid reviews and an cash back offer on the upside app. Foodwise, I ordered the chicken noodle with mushroom soup. Unfortunately, the dish was quite bland and lacked flavor, so I ended up asking for hot sauce to add some kick. I probably should have gone with the spicy option, but overall, I wasn't very impressed. (It was still pretty bland after I added hot sauce.) The staff suggested that I come back and try the spicy version next time. But honestly, I don't think Ill be returning. At least service wise they were patient with me as I couldn't decide between their lunch menu or the noodles.

Saw their great rating on Google and lunch special menu and decided to give it a try! We got the $18.95 lunch special that came with appetizer, noodles, main dish, and a drink. The environment was super cute, I love their plates. It was very quiet on a weekday afternoon. The appetizers were great - the soup dumplings and fried dumplings were so juicy. Main dishes (ribs and pork belly) were also very flavorful and tender. However, the noodles were kind of a let down. I got the braised beef noodles and was expecting flavorful noodle soup. However, it was very bland like salt water with no other flavor- even the meat was very bland and did not taste braised. Besides the noodle dish, everything else was good. Service was friendly and quick. They gave free strawberry ice cream after the meal.

Really great home style Shanghainese food. Lots of healthy options like shredded tofu (like tofu in noodle shape) and vegetables in broth. The wine chicken is delicious and has a lot of meat. The shepherds purse fish filets were really savory. All in all the food was great. A little disappointed in the shengjianbao 生煎包 but it's okay, the healthy options are harder to find elsewhere. Price is great for the portion sizes. Service was polite and prompt. The restaurant is fairly quiet, clean, and has some pretty decor with vases and decorative plates on display. Definitely a place I'd come back to for some healthy Chinese.

This place is phenomenal! Run don't walk. Their Peking Style Minced Pork Noodle and Wuxi Pork Ribs were exceptionally delicious! Completely worth the wait and visit.

Found this place on a Google search while in New York. This location is small but a good manageable size. Staff are awesome despite how busy they were. They cater for nut allergies which was perfect. We ordered chicken and pork dumplings which was steamy and juicy. Very flavorful. Also had the veggie fried rice and garlic eggplant which was just yummy. The gravy on the eggplant dish paired SO well with the friend rice. Everything was tasty. I had the left over for breakfast which made my day. The restaurant is very clean and well organized. The ambiance is very homely type. I would go here again.

This feels like a rerun because I could swear I reviewed one of TS' other locations years ago, but I can't find any record of it and my cobwebby brain can't remember anything either. So here we go again. Ain't senility grand? We ordered a ton as a group of 7, sharing everything family-style. Each person ended up owing $38 all included, which is practically free in these inflationary times. Gotta love that. The good: - Osmanthus Salted Duck: Lip-smackingly umami - Shrimp Shumai: Classic and solid - Xiaolong Bao: Also classic and solid - Spring Noodles: Not as laden with veggies as I would've liked, but appropriately savory - Peking Style Minced Pork Noodles: Not my cup of tea, but well made - Wuxi Pork Ribs: Their signature dish and with good reason. Probably the best dish of our batch - Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage and Chili: Generously overfilled with tender fish, but the broth was a bit too oily - Salted Egg Custard Bun: Who doesn't love this for dessert? - Creamy Custard Bun: More custard deliciousness, just not as runny The eh: - Cold Bamboo Shoots: Not tossed with chili oil like I like, so no bueno for me - Tofu Tossed with Preserved Egg: Why was this sweet? Why? Eggs should never be sweet! - Pumpkin Cake: Thought this would have runny, yolky custard too, but it was filled with red bean paste instead. Which isn't bad...just not as fun The space is gorg, and the staff were pretty attentive, even giving us some complimentary items when they messed up an order.

I hadn't been to EDH in a while and was happy to see they do have later hours (with a smaller late night menu). The place was pretty busy at 10:00 PM last Saturday, with a wide range of diners, which is good for business. The food though, at least that night, was really disappointing. My friend had the chicken dumplings. He said they were okay. I thought they were overcooked. My steamed shrimp shumai were fine, but steamed, they didn't have much flavour. The edamame, on the other hand, had way too much when it should have almost none. I don't know if it was excess salt, MSG or something else, but not good. I should have sent them back. I hope this was just an off night for the kitchen.

The pacing of the meal for the quantity of food received seemed very rushed, and we didn't really have a chance to relax and enjoy any of the courses. However, the quality of the experience was a complete disaster particularly for the price. Clearly, the packed restaurant would disagree, but for the four of us anyway, we would not return. It started with the check in process at what felt like a long hotel front desk with multiple, self important hosts and hostesses overseeing your entrance to the cavernous bar/waiting area. One problem is the noise is so deafening that you can't really hear what they say to you but we check in a few minutes early and waited obediently in the bar area chatting. After about 30 minutes (15 after our reservation time), and watching numerous parties large and small who arrived after us be seated by the hostesses wandering through the dimly lit space who peer quizzically and ask your name, my husband went to ask for an update. (We joked that those vibrating lighted buzzers alerting when your table was ready would have been super helpful, but it was amusing to watch while we waited). It was clear they somehow lost track of us as she had him repeatedly spell our (not unusual) name. Anyway, after that, within 10 minutes after that we were taken downstairs to our seats (but not before standing awkwardly in the large dining area near packed tables waiting while our table was cleaned). Server with a heavy accent was kind and mostly helpful so none of this is on him. The busser who managed to spill half a pitcher of cold water on my husband's back, soaking his shirt and jacket and barely apologizing, is a whole other story. We managed to get a glass of his mediocre Cabernet comped for the experience. If I sound annoyed, I guess I still am. I had high hopes for a fun and tasty experience in a cool part of the city and it just wasn't.

Onto the mains and I ventured towards their Spicy Drunken Noodle (my go-to whenever I'm hitting a Thai restaurant on my home turf) and... yeah, you probably guessed it - incredible. Not the biggest portion but they made every single component sing with flavor. With so much going on - of course I needed to indulge with another drink (hey, I wasn't driving!). There were six of us, it came to about $100 a person... welcome to NYC. But we did get a wide selection of plates/food and those two drinks accounted for about $40 of my tab. (And you'll never see such a heavy wine pour at a restaurant... they filled the glass almost to the rim - which was not even something I'd do for myself when I'm home.) Definitely recommended.
