Good standard bowl of pho here. Service was quick and prices were reasonable. Would come again if I'm in the area.

Very friendly service, cute little shop with beautiful decorations and art. The house limeade is refreshing and sweet and the Bun bo hue was the best I ever had it was hearty and delicious. Favorite Vietnamese in the area.

My wife and I were craving Vietnamese food, and based on where we were in the city, Nón Lá seemed like the best option nearby, so we decided to give it a try. We're glad we did! We started with the Cha Gio (veggie crispy spring rolls), and they were a great appetizer - crispy, flavorful, and well-seasoned without feeling too oily. For dinner, we both ordered the Pho Chin Nam (beef brisket pho). The broth was rich and comforting, the portion was generous, and the brisket was tender. Definitely hit the spot and satisfied our craving. For drinks, I ordered their homemade lemonade, and I appreciated that it actually tasted freshly made rather than from a mix. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive despite how busy it was. While we were there, the restaurant was popping. It stayed consistently busy with a wait time of about 10-20 minutes. The space inside is small, but they offer outdoor seating as well. If you have time, waiting isn't a bad option, but if you're on a tight schedule, ordering ahead is definitely the way to go. The ambiance had a casual, cozy feel with a lively crowd, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or a quick bite. Overall, Nón Lá was a great choice for Vietnamese food in the area, and we'd definitely return.

What's a trip to New York without stopping for some great Vietnamese food with great vibes!! Nón Lá is family owned (the owner is a family friend we haven't seen for a looong time) that really embraces Vietnamese cozy homebody cuisine with its ambience and great service! Nestled in SoHo, grab a seat inside or patio dining. I was seated relatively quickly on a Saturday afternoon but I will say that they do fill up real quick as we were sat down. Pictured below are as follows: Bo luc lac (shaking beef) with rice & salad The star of the show and what I usually order whenever I dine at a Vietnamese restaurant! Their filet mignon pieces are melt in your mouth goodness! They give you a super generous portion of rice and veggies and is easily shareable amongst a table of two! When I come back again I'll substitute to fried rice for $2 extra for an amazing flavor burst, I would come here everyday if I lived in the city again! Bun Bo hue: Suggested and offered by my family friend Tommy; they nailed this to a tea... I'm not used to the spicey broth as I don't get this often. This hearty bowl of soup was surprisingly refreshing to beat the heat! Every piece of meat was a flavor adventure of its own. This bowl easily is shareable amongst a table of 4 unless you're feeling extra gluttonous! Bo Xao (Beef Salad): Personal preference; hot cooked beef ontop of a fresh bowl of salad is like eating a cooked sweet greens salad. The slices of filet mignon were packed with sweet unagi flavor profiling complimented with the onions! Another shareable plate, order with a side of rice as a meal! I honestly see this dish as an appetizer in Vietnamese cuisine, generally enjoyed with a carb like a baguette on the side. Vietnamese fried calimari WOW!!! The sauce pairing was to die for! I licked the whole plate clean even the peppers and onions and garlic! Each piece was easy to chomp on with a no rubbery texture! I have no other words to explain this big portion of crispy battered goodness.... Overall, tasty, great service, great pricing with big portions! It's not easy finding great Vietnamese cuisine in NYC... because it's all in California haha. If you go tell the owner & Tommy, billy recommended you

No wait for 2 people for lunch on New Year's Day. It's a small spot and was pretty full though, though so plan accordingly. I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, and my boyfriend and I shared the Bun bo hue and beef brisket pho. Both broths were incredible. Beef itself was mid, but god damn those broths were good. Great service, too. Would return! 4.5 stars.

As someone who has a hard time finding good viet food in nyc, this place has my stamp of approval. My viet chi and anh, rejoice. The portions are big too. Highly recommend the banh cuon and bun bo hue

Wanted a vermicelli noodle salad bowl for lunch and stumbled across Nón Lá. I ordered the combination without pork, so just shrimp and veggie spring rolls. I asked for additional veggies because it was mainly noodles and I was craving a salad. The shrimp was cooked to perfection!! It was crispy and cooked on charcoal, I think? I was very impressed with the service as well! Love this place - great authentic fast casual spot with outdoor seating!

Bun Rieu

(I always like to preface any Vietnamese restaurant review by saying that I'm born and raised in Little Saigon in CA, so I'm very proud of the delicious viet food we have here) Non La has to be my favorite Vietnamese spot for Bun Rieu in Manhattan!!!! That's all I've had so far... but every time I come back the Bun Rieu is always calling my name. Service is great. I love seeing my Vietnamese uncle. He always gives me a side of their shrimp paste to add to the broth and it makes me feel like I'm at home again :') anyway I love this spot ok

Good. Fair pricing, great service, it's friendly and fast. They are generous with the extra vegetables and the bean sprouts look healthy and not old. It's a very cute tiny restaurant with dark wood. Cozy. Great East village spot would recommend. Viet coffee is extremely strong I'd be careful about that.

My new favorite Vietnamese place in the city!! So good. Can't wait to come back. The pho was great! It was a cold rainy day and just what I needed. We also tried the vermicelli with the lemongrass chicken and yes, so good. I've been in the hunt and at last here is Nón Lá!!

Some of the best Vietnamese food I've had in NYC so far! I loved the spring rolls and the pho was definitely better than lots of other places I've tried. It was savory and had lots of noodles and meat. I just wish the pho came with raw meat so it could have cooked in the broth. The restaurant is quite small. But the service is very quick and the food is reasonably priced.

Mi Xao Dzon Ga Stir fried chicken and veggies atop a bed of crispy egg noodles and Pho Pho Dac Biet House combination pho
Nami N.

I'm visiting in New York and came here with my daughter and granddaughter for an early dinner. The inside of the restaurant is small with only five seats, but there is also a separate space outside where you can eat too. Quick service. I ordered Pho Dac Biet $18.00 (House combination pho with eye round, brisket, tendon, & tripe.) My daughter ordered Goi Cuon Shrimp $8.00 (Shrimp fresh summer rolls), Com Tom Ram $17.00 (Shrimp stir fried in a lemongrass sauce) and Vietnamese iced coffee $6. Granddaughter ordered Mi Xao Dzon Ga $20.00 (Stir fried chicken and veggies atop a bed of crispy egg noodles.) My pho seemed a little on the thin side in terms of soup flavor but many meat inside the soup. Stir fried noodles w chicken had a lot of vegetables and garlicky taste. Shrimp Lemongrass was okay. I think I'll try something else next time!

The food always arrives hot, is always well packaged and tasty. My personal go to is the SHAKING BEEF Bo Luc Lac Stir fried Angus steak cube) bun. It is served Served w. Side Salad & Nuoc Cham: (Romaine, Cucumber, Pickled Mustard, Grape Tomatoes, Carrots & Daikon). I appreciate the choice of Vermicelli rice noodle, Thai Jasmine rice or Solely Salad. I always choose rice and the packaging is amazing, the beef is kept seperate from the rice and arrives hot and aromatic. My mom also loves this dish but ordered it with the solely salad and opts for double veggies. We have also tried several of the bahn mini including the lemongrass chicken, the brisket and the braised short rib. All are tasty. I do recommend adding the dip for $1 as it really takes it to the next level! I ordered the lychee iced tea sweetened today. It was sweet but not too sweet which I appreciated and as with everything from 5ive spice very thoughtfully packaged in a way that there is no leaking in transit. 5ive spice has some great all day and happy hour specials, I look forward to trying their food in person when I am in the area. Customer service: One time, on a particularly busy weekend in NYC, I received the wrong bahn mi sandwich. I ordered the brisket bahn mi and received the lemongrass chicken. When I called 5ive Spice, I spoke to the manager John who was incredibly apologetic and explained it was a very busy night, without offering excuses. He offered a full refund and invited me to order again and call and he would include a complimentary bahn mi. For what it's worth, it was a very busy night in NYC, all of the restaurants we were trying to get take out or delivery from were quoting 2+ hours, and John handled the situation perfectly. The food we received was tasty and did arrive on time.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. Decent, but the wait and price make it hard to love. Might try again if they speed things up.

After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.
