The pho was fine, but a bit salty. Friends had the beef pho and complained it was under flavored. The worst part was the drinks, like Thai iced tea and coffee, they are pre-made and the concentrated drink just sits in the fridge which isn't very appetizing!

Service: 3.5/5 Food: 3.9/5 Price: under $20 Took my grandma out for lunch. It's her first time having pho in nyc + she's lived here for over 10 years! Quite a large venue, pretty slow for lunch. Dinner service gets much busier. Not much interaction with the servers. Tables are a little small for how many things they keep on it + how much space the serve-ware takes up. What I Ordered: - Hu Tieu Nam Vang: lots of liver slices, sweet soup (wish I had more) - Bun Bo Hue: gma said it was salty, blood was too firm, lots of meat, likes the noodle style

Really meager serving of pork in the vermicelli bowl. Otherwise, it is still flavorful; however, you will be hungry after.

Pho was just okay, didn't really have much flavor to it and the broth was forgettable. They also didn't have jalapeños which is an essential for me when it comes to a bowl of pho, so that was disappointing.

Finding viet food in nyc is hard! Let alone, good viet food and definitely a spot that does many dishes other than the popular pho and bun bo hue. There's a lot of dishes I miss eating and although I could make it at home, sometimes I don't want to. So I'm glad I found a place that reminds me of home a little bit. I was craving banh cuon but unfortunately they only make that on the weekend. So I got Banh it tran instead and their thit kho lunch special ($10). I finished with Che Ba Mau iykyk I love how modern this restaurant is yet so affordable.

Flavors for the most part were good Pho Bo - one of the better phos in the city - 4.5/5. Banh bot loc (tapioca dumplings) 4/5 Cha gio (crispy spring rolls) 4/5 Pork chop over rice 2.5/5. Not as much flavor as I would expect from this typical Vietnamese dish

Solid spot for Vietnamese food! I got the Banh Khot, Banh Trang Tron weekend special, and the Hu Tieu Nam Vang. This hit the spot and satisfied my Vietnamese food cravings. I also got a Vietnamese iced coffee which was delicious. They dont do reservations but I had no problem walking in on a Saturday afternoon and getting a table for two. Would for sure come back!

Honestly, there aren't that many delicious Vietnamese food places in NYC. Kitchen Co Ut isn't spectacular or amazing when compared to some of the options you can get in other states like California, but it has all the staples and some of the more difficult to get dishes, and they are all solidly executed. There are sometimes misses, but I've for the most part enjoyed the vast majority of the food I've had here. If you check out their Instagram, you can see their weekly specials which contains even more dishes that are oftentimes really hard to get in NYC. Service is standard and the restaurant setting is similar to those in the Chinatown area. It's casual, it's standard but it serves overall good Vietnamese food at a fair price point.

I always used to complain about the lack of good, authentic Vietnamese restaurants in NYC - but now Kitchen Co Ut is my go-to spot for Vietnamese food in Chinatown. The restaurant is clean and pretty spacious. The staff speaks English + Vietnamese and the menu is huge so there's something for everyone. We were fans of the banh khot (so crispy on the outside but still soft in the middle), the bo ne (which we wanted to order another one but they sold out), the crispy spring rolls, and all the noodle soups we ate were tasty. I also loved the fresh sugarcane juice that reminded me of my childhood and the strong Vietnamese coffee. We would've ordered desserts too if they were ready at the time, but all they had available was what was in the display cooler. This spot is also approved by my picky Vietnamese mother and aunt visiting from out of town, so there's that!

price - $50 including tax and tip food - 3/5 service - 3/5 ambiance - 3/5 overall, this place was alright. the pho didnt stand out to me and it actually tastes more on the peculiar side compared to the other pho places i ate at before. i did like the spring rolls though! the service and ambiance were both alright but nothing really stood out. overall, its definitely more of a casual and cheap eat compared to other restaurants

Quality: 10/10 my noodle soup was packed with stuff and boiling hot it almost burned my tongue Variety: 9/10 has a lot of the true Vietnamese dishes you would find in Vietnam. I have always wanted to try their desserts, but I am always too full after the meal (large portions) Atmosphere/Cleanliness: 9/10 decor is giving Vietnamese village, pretty clean, but only one bathroom but pretty big bathroom for Chinatown Service: 9/10 two waitresses/hosts/cashiers, they basically do everything, but cook your food so they are busy, nonetheless I never had trouble waving them down Price: $45 for an appetizer, a main, and a drink which includes tax and tip (I paid in cash, but theres a 3% credit card fee) I'm going to be honest and say my first time here was not too memorable, but then I went to Vietnam and came back and tried this place again and booooooooy does this place slap. The flavor is bangin and really takes me back to Vietnam (except this would've cost me 1/3 the price haha). Would definitely trek from all the boroughs to try this place.

Came here on Juneteenth with the kids after going to the cafe. Ordered a bunch of dishes to try out and was quite pleased with it. The restaurant is nice and clean, and because we came at an odd time, there were plenty of seats. The Bon Xue (Vietnamese omelette) was great however it would have been nicer with more shrimp and pork rather than beansprouts and onions. The pho was a hit with the kiddos so will definitely order that again. Plenty of dessert options too however we were too full to try them. Next time!

A solid Vietnamese spot with street-market charm, generous portions, and food that's decent but unremarkable. Ambience (3/5) - String lights and hand-drawn wall art create a cozy vibe reminiscent of a Vietnam street market. Food (3/5) - Pho was okay, but the noodles were overly soft and broke apart easily. The banh xeo was too oily and lacked flavor. Value (5/5) - Huge portions for a surprisingly low price. Service (3/5) - Staff didn't seem very happy to be there. No effort was made to explain the menu or make the experience more welcoming.

The food always arrives hot, is always well packaged and tasty. My personal go to is the SHAKING BEEF Bo Luc Lac Stir fried Angus steak cube) bun. It is served Served w. Side Salad & Nuoc Cham: (Romaine, Cucumber, Pickled Mustard, Grape Tomatoes, Carrots & Daikon). I appreciate the choice of Vermicelli rice noodle, Thai Jasmine rice or Solely Salad. I always choose rice and the packaging is amazing, the beef is kept seperate from the rice and arrives hot and aromatic. My mom also loves this dish but ordered it with the solely salad and opts for double veggies. We have also tried several of the bahn mini including the lemongrass chicken, the brisket and the braised short rib. All are tasty. I do recommend adding the dip for $1 as it really takes it to the next level! I ordered the lychee iced tea sweetened today. It was sweet but not too sweet which I appreciated and as with everything from 5ive spice very thoughtfully packaged in a way that there is no leaking in transit. 5ive spice has some great all day and happy hour specials, I look forward to trying their food in person when I am in the area. Customer service: One time, on a particularly busy weekend in NYC, I received the wrong bahn mi sandwich. I ordered the brisket bahn mi and received the lemongrass chicken. When I called 5ive Spice, I spoke to the manager John who was incredibly apologetic and explained it was a very busy night, without offering excuses. He offered a full refund and invited me to order again and call and he would include a complimentary bahn mi. For what it's worth, it was a very busy night in NYC, all of the restaurants we were trying to get take out or delivery from were quoting 2+ hours, and John handled the situation perfectly. The food we received was tasty and did arrive on time.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. I ordered "Plain Pho", which is described as just broth and noodles, no garnish or meat. After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.
