Pho Suon Nuong(Pork Chops Pho)
Brittany P.

Wanted some Viet food around Chinatown and chose this place! This is your very typical Vietnamese restaurant and I got the rice with pork chop, and my boyfriend got the pho with pork chop. The pho came in a really small bowl, the smallest I'd ever seen, and the broth was chicken based. It was decent but the small bowl kind of threw me off and the portion was smaller than typical. The pork chop itself was thin and on the dry side. Nothing special about the food here and the presentation was bare bones, but the food definitely reflects the price at around $14.

My friend did come here a few weeks ago, and was dying to return. So we headed over, waited for about 15min, After being seated, it took a little while for service (busy, busy place). Everyone was friendly and professional. The pho came out really quickly, piping hot. We asked for extra onions & cilantro, but whoever made the bowls must have forgotten, as there were barely any of either. Still, it was delicious with its savory broth, fresh crisp toppings, and tender beef. I'm sure we come back again , especially on a cold day.

I would say 3.5 stars. They can accommodate larger parties, though it does get pretty packed. One thing I appreciate is how many options they have on the menu. My go-to is the Vietnamese porkchops with vermicelli. The porkchops, and there was a lot of noodles. But there was not enough pork chops for the amount of noodles. Even though the dish was good, I wouldn't rate it as one of the best Viet food I had. However, my friends really enjoyed their food, especially the pho. I would still return as their service is lovely, prices are affordable, and overall the food is good.

I was craving some pho and the restaurant was really bustling from the outside, so I figured I'd give this place a shot. Unfortunately, it was pretty disappointing. While the portion sizes are pretty good, the broth of my pho was really bland and thin. It was unfortunate that 2 of the drinks we wanted to order were both unavailable (Tri colored drink and avocado smoothie). I would say there are better options around the chinatown area.

Had better. Bun Bo Hue - no shrimp paste or pork blood. Lack of meat. Pork knuckle was sadly small. Flavoring was less than average. Didn't even get my plate of fresh herbs. No, not talking about the plate of beansprout. Spring Roll - no flavor and very dry. Almost stale. Will not return.

3.5 / 5.0 - Nha Trang One is a no-frills Vietnamese spot in Chinatown that we stopped by for lunch for some pho. It was a bit dark inside, with half the restaurant not having lights on, even though there were people dining there. The service was efficient but I didn't love the pho here. I ordered the Pho Chin (beef brisket - well done). The noodles were quite thin compared to others I've had and the beef was also not very soft.

A solid Vietnamese restaurant in the area that hasn't increased the prices of their dishes as others have in recent years. I ordered their Pho Dac Biet and besides their beef eyeround being a bit too rough, everything was delicious and fresh. It's a clean and spacious space that works for small and large groups. I appreciated the friendliness of the staff in accommodating our large group.

Pho Dac Biet (Special Beef Rice Noodle Soup)

I walked into this restaurant to try out the Pho here, and walked out of the place satisfied with my meal. The Pho noodle soup here is cheaper than I thought it would be! Most places I've seen have Pho that costs around 16 dollars or more, but this place sells it at 2-3 dollars less. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet for 13.95. It's a big bowl with the soup, rice noodle, brisket, medium-cooked eyeround, and tendons. You also get the usual bean sprouts, leaves and peppers on the side to go with the soup. For the price, I'm both surprised and happy for the amount I got. Taste was great! Noodles weren't soggy, and there was plenty of meat in the bowl with veggies to accompany it. Soup also had a nice aroma and flavoring. This restaurant is small, but clean! Service was fast, I was able to order and receive my food pretty quick.

We went on a Friday night and most of the tables were taken. The staff are super friendly. The place smelled so good. We shared a bowl of Pho and an order of Bun Combo 1. Everything was good. I've definitely had better Pho, but it was solid. The Combo was good, but the vermicelli had no sauce. so plain. All of the meat and toppings were tasty. I would try this place again and order other items from the menu.

I love this spot for the bun but I have to admit I also love this spot for their Pho Xuong Nuong (Noodle soup with bbq pork chops). There are just days when I want pho but not with the usual beef. The bbq pork chops at Nha Trang are addictive. Excellent packaging for take out. They're quick, staff are friendly and efficient as ever. Place is always bubbling when I drop in to get takeout after work with all seats filled and a line outside, a definite sign of quality grub.

Came here for lunch on a weekday with colleagues and left stuffed! This place is delicious. A few of us split the cha gio (spring rolls), which came freshly fried and were really tasty, and I also got the bo bun hue, which is usually a limited dinner special, but they made an exception for us. The bo bun hue is humongous, well flavored, and full of meats, including an entire pig trotter. It's probably a bit oversized for a lunch portion, which was fine by me, since I arrived hungry. The broth is also the right level of spicy and the noodles were a good texture. The service was attentive and quick, and though the restaurant was busy at lunch, we didn't have any trouble finding a table. I'm looking forward to coming back again for that bo bun hue, especially now that the weather is colder!

I walked in on Sunday afternoon. I've been meaning to try more Vietnamese restaurants in Chinatown. I've been craving bun thit nuong and that's exactly what I ordered here! It doesn't come with spring rolls so I added that ($3 extra), for a total of $17.31. The BBQ pork was seasoned pretty well. I think the ratio of everything was good. I wish there were more cucumber and pickled vegetables though. The food came out pretty fast. You do have to ask for more tea or water though.

Pho-get about it! This Vietnamese restaurant was everything I could have hoped for and more! The true test of a good pho spot, in my opinion, is the rare beef and meatball combo. If the meat balls bounce, the establishment cannot be denounced!

The food always arrives hot, is always well packaged and tasty. My personal go to is the SHAKING BEEF Bo Luc Lac Stir fried Angus steak cube) bun. It is served Served w. Side Salad & Nuoc Cham: (Romaine, Cucumber, Pickled Mustard, Grape Tomatoes, Carrots & Daikon). I appreciate the choice of Vermicelli rice noodle, Thai Jasmine rice or Solely Salad. I always choose rice and the packaging is amazing, the beef is kept seperate from the rice and arrives hot and aromatic. My mom also loves this dish but ordered it with the solely salad and opts for double veggies. We have also tried several of the bahn mini including the lemongrass chicken, the brisket and the braised short rib. All are tasty. I do recommend adding the dip for $1 as it really takes it to the next level! I ordered the lychee iced tea sweetened today. It was sweet but not too sweet which I appreciated and as with everything from 5ive spice very thoughtfully packaged in a way that there is no leaking in transit. 5ive spice has some great all day and happy hour specials, I look forward to trying their food in person when I am in the area. Customer service: One time, on a particularly busy weekend in NYC, I received the wrong bahn mi sandwich. I ordered the brisket bahn mi and received the lemongrass chicken. When I called 5ive Spice, I spoke to the manager John who was incredibly apologetic and explained it was a very busy night, without offering excuses. He offered a full refund and invited me to order again and call and he would include a complimentary bahn mi. For what it's worth, it was a very busy night in NYC, all of the restaurants we were trying to get take out or delivery from were quoting 2+ hours, and John handled the situation perfectly. The food we received was tasty and did arrive on time.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.
