Came here because the reviews were decent and I was hungry. The service was good and servers were very kind but the pho was not good. We got #3 and the broth was not flavorful at all -- tasted watered down and like nothing. Nothing to write home about sadly. This late night ramen place we found on a whim after a broadway show was clutch. The service was diligent and attentive. The place was more of a cafeteria feel but homey. The portions were hardy and delicious my family that was visiting from Honduras absolutely loved it. There was a large group there that was a bit loud but we did enjoy the experience.

This is a no frills Vietnamese restaurant serving one of the best Pho and Banh mi in Manhattan. The price is on par with Chinatown but without the greasy sauce bottles. The hot pho soup was the perfect cure for a cold evening. The server was very friendly and knew exactly what we needed when I asked for grilled pork on the side. We even got 10% off in celebrating the restaurant's new opening. This will be my new Vietnamese spot in the city! Tons of seating - even though it might look small from the storefront.

Clean restaurant, very clean. It was empty except for 1 customer when I arrived. He was almost done so I couldn't peek what he was eating but it was a big bowl. The server was cleaning but greeted me and seated me right away and brought a big menu, soo many items . The cheapest pho on the menu is $17, matter of fact its the lowest price on the entire menu . I ordered ChinNam Gau Gau Sach - Rice noodle beef soup, eye of round well done, brisket, tendon and mosaic (tripe) Food came quickly and so did disappointment. The bowl was so small, like I've never seen pho served in such a small bowl. AND it came with a wedge of lemon , dude , are we out of limes in NYC ? Ok, so maybe the broth us so good I won't even miss the lime. Today was not my day, broth was mediocre, lacked depth and the meat was very scant. I honestly felt robbed , there was the tiniest piece of tendon and absolutely no sight of tripe. I just wanted to get up and leave. On top of that I had a 2 hoursbreak so had planned to get pho and perhaps Banh Mi and have a leisurely long lunch. 2 other couples came in while I was there and ordered bigger meals. Their food also came quickly. The waiter didnt bother me or check in but he was attentive and walked by a few times if I needed him I wouldn't have to wait. I got my check he asked if I wanted anything else . I wanted to say limes but digressed. I used tje bathroom (very clean BTW) and left. Overall based on this experience Id say its an overpriced meal. I won't go back based on taste, price and portion size. Sure there are over 100 items on the menu but in my opinion if you can't swing pho then it's not a place for me.

They said that most people ordered this Pho combo (i forgot which one it was) I'm skeptical of restaurants with a large menu so I'm not too keen on trying other menu items here, but I might in the future.

Great and taste and interesting place. Good portions and friendly service. The person who handled this is very kind and a beef rib though, and the seafood is delicious. The vegetarian was not as flavorful as the non-vegetarian products.

Nice spot for a normal dinner or take out. It's not the fanciest inside, but it's not exactly a hole in the wall either. I had the bun with shrimp, which was great. The shrimp was really nicely grilled and had a sweet/savory seasoning which I always love. It seems like they're always running a discount, which is a nice surprise if you're not paying attention. Even with the discount, pricing is about average for the area. read more

Pho Dragon is about 10mins walk from Union sq station. Convenient location. Spacious and clean inside. Staff were nice and friendly. I put the online order for pick up. The food was ready when I arrived. I had #116 sliced pork, sausage , fried egg with rice. It came with a small portion of carrots and cucumbers. Flavor was good 4/5. I would like the pork in even thinner slice. Egg was on point. I also had Thai ice tea. It was ok 2.5/5. I didn't get that tea flavor knocking into me. It was definitely sweet tho. Overall a solid spot for lunch. I prob will try pho next time. read more

Wow! What a phenomenal place to eat Vietnamese food. Coming from Ca, we were craving for Vietnamese place, and we stumbled upon Pho Dragon in New York. Who would think this place would have authentic Vietnamese food. I was impressed and shocked to say that this place is amazing! I am very particular about Vietnamese food, but the food and service blew me away! Great service, price, and food portions. They are extremely generous, and the service is like a 5-star restaurant! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for amazing service and food! One of my favorite in New York!! read more

Wonderful service, everyone was so kind. I came on a Friday night after hanging out with some friends. Got my food to go I ordered the short rib pho. Also known as the dragon pho, which was really great. The the short rib fell off the bone, and I barely touched it. The broth was wonderful. Everything was prepared and wrapped to perfection, I definitely will be back as it is a new establishment, and I would love to continue to support. read more

when I ordered here it was really delicious , the service was really good and the place wasn't too packed so we got our food pretty quickly. The pho is absolutely delicious ,the broth is rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can taste the depth in every spoonful. The noodles are perfectly cooked, and the portions are generous. I also tried their spring rolls, and they were fresh, light, and packed with flavor. read more

Delicious authentic Vietnamese reminiscent of my trip there. Gracious and attentive staff. Plus there's no genuine Vietnamese around Flatiron so this place is a welcome addition. My kids loved the pho and summer rolls, I had the shrimp bánh mì. All authentic and delicious. Give this place a try! read more

Delighted to see a Vietnamese restaurant in this neighborhood. Extensive menu but I would have loved to see a lunch menu since I wasn't seeking dinner. Super fast and very friendly service. The spring rolls with avocado were a fun twist on a classic. The stir fry was great except I'm not fan of canned mushrooms at that price point. read more

Wanted to support this new small casual restaurant/takeout place. The pho was perfect - fresh and delicious. Broth packaged separately from the add-ins (fresh veggies, mint, bean sprouts, hot sauce, etc.) so can combine it fresh and to your taste at home. read more

In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.

The menu is exactly what you'd expect from a solid Vietnamese spot: pho, combination rice plates, the usual lineup. We were ready to order and move on with our lives. Then we saw the tacos. Vietnamese tacos. On the menu. Sitting right there between the banh mi and the spring rolls like they'd always belonged. Nobody in my family said anything for a full three seconds, which for us is basically a standing ovation. We ordered the duck spring rolls to start, which were fresh, well packed, and disappeared faster than a starfighter in hyperspace. For the mains we went with the beef flank pho and the banh mi combination special. The pho had a clean, well developed broth that clearly had some time put into it, and the beef flank was tender enough to make you slow down and pay attention. The banh mi combo was solid, balanced, and hit all the right notes. We did not get the tacos this visit, which means we have a built in reason to return and nobody can argue with that logic. For a small room in the middle of one of the busiest cities on the planet, Pho 39 manages to feel genuinely calm and focused.
