I was craving banh mi and I was in the area so stopped by to grab one! I got the special combo banh mi ($10). I wish there was more pate and vegetables but the meat was good. But this is just the wrong kind of bread because it was a baguette. It was still good but just the wrong bread. I ordered it to go and it was ready within 5 minutes!
It was really yummy with fast service too. Not too fancy but just right vibes for the local feels.
Husband works in the area and brought some home for dinner. Oh boy what a treat! Menu is simple and not overwhelming. We ordered the flank and brisket pho, egg rolls and special bahn mi. Soooo good. The pho was flavorful and delicious. I love me a good bahn mi and they did not disappoint. The egg rolls were as good, but the sauce was great. Prices are so affordable especially since they're in the Chelsea area. So much better than the other Pho restaurants I've tried. Didn't get to take pictures of the rest of our meal cause we devoured it lol.
Staffs are friendly, there were two staffs there when we ate. Ordered special combo banh mi which includes pork roll, pork belly, pate, and butter. I also ordered l ginger ale soda which was $2 per can. The crust on the baguette was just the right amount of crisp. It was a little on the dry end. Overall, it was very filling. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5
Small hole in the wall Vietnamese spot along 8th avenue. Don't skip out on this. It's hidden under a lot of construction at the moment. They serve the usuals of Banh mi, summer and spring rolls, vermicelli dry noodles, and pho with an assortment of ingredients. I've only tried the pho soup so far but it was so delicious with both the flank and brisket, tons of fresh bean sprouts, herbs, lime, sriracha, chili oil, and hoisin sauce. The bowl it comes served in is enormous. I literally had another huge meal for the next day after I left. I think the only complaints I have is that there were a few fruit flies the day I came in but it may have just been a random circumstance. Also, I wish they were open a tiny bit later. I think they close at 9pm most nights. Definitely will be back to try more stuff off of the menu.
I really enjoy Vietnamese style catfish so I was excited when I saw it on the menu at Pho 2. While I'm guessing the big draw here is the pho because of the name, they also had some other interesting rice and noodle dishes on their menu, even tacos. I've gotten in the routine lately of ordering extra protein whenever it's an option on the takeout menu (just as a precaution in case the portion is small). I can fortunately say here I didn't need the extra portion. The regular portion is more than enough and I was very happy with it. I liked that they compartmentalized the food when they packed it. Usually I ask for my rice on the side but thi was really neat. The catfish itself was nicely and not too greasy which I enjoyed. The best catfish I had in recent memory was actually at a Vietnamese places called Le's in Cambridge, MA. This didn't match Le's - I was hoping for something more like a caramalized fish which is usually how I see this dish prepared, but it was still really solid and I would eat here again. Overall, I was a happy customer.
The food at this place is pretty decent compared with many pho restaurants around the area. Service varies depending on how busy it is but most of the customers coming in are usually students. The ambience is a hit or miss as there is currently construction outside so the area is a bit inconvenient to walk around.
Overall, it's not great, but it's also not bad. There aren't too many pho places around, so this is better than nothing. There are plenty of seats and the servers are nice. Eggrolls are soggy and have a weird texture. I don't recommend them. The Pho is decent and while it wasn't as hearty as I prefer, it was okay. When I stay in the area for work, I wouldn't mind coming here just for the Pho. Might venture and try something else too next time, but avoid the eggrolls.

Walked in on a weekday night during peak dinnertime and was able to get a seat very quickly. Was kind of surprised how many people were there eating alone, which made me very happy. - Flank and Brisket Noodle Soup - This won't be the best pho you've ever had but maybe one of the biggest bowls of pho you ever had. I was so surprised when they brought out a gigantic bowl full of noodles and soup. The soup was rich which I appreciated but I wasn't the biggest fan of the noodles as they weren't able to grab a lot of the flavor of the broth. The beef wasn't the most tender thing in the world, but a little of sriracha will help you forget all of that. - Grilled Shrimp Vermicelli Noodles - I love how many different kinds of vegetables they put in this dish, it felt like you were eating a salad. The star of the dish though was definitely the grilled shrimp as it was incredibly tender and had a distinct charred flavor. Overall, not a bad Vietnamese food place in NYC especially if you're looking for something fast and filling. Will definitely come back whenever I'm in the area.
Pretty good and authentic Vietnamese place in Chelsea, NYC! Not so many choices of Asian restaurants around but here is a decent place to be comfortable! Clean and nice atmosphere. Waitresses are nice and trustworthy :) It was Friday afternoon but the place was lively. Ordered Beef Broth Pho with Flank and Brisket! It was delicious and great potion. The meat was very fresh and amazing broth. Table set was good also. I would definitely come back for sure!
Came here with the kids before a big thunderstorm, so thankful they had space left for us to sit at. The place was pretty busy and had a good amount of choices to select for. The kids went for the Pho bowls and I went for the salad. Food came out relatively quick -service was also good. Definitely a good neighborhood option. read more
Seeing the current reviews i feel like this place is very underrated. We were here on a saturday night and all the food was really good, we got two types of bahn mi and vegetable dumplings. One bahn mi was a vegetarian and the other was pork and they were both great, sometimes the vegetarian ones aren't done as well so I was happy. Service was great, prices were even better, and the food came out quickly. Definitely worth a visit. read more
Nothing beats a hot pho on a cold day, especially in New York City. I stumbled across The Pho 2 walking around in Chelsea. The entrance is very unassuming and honestly could be easy to miss - it's overshadowed by the large BBQ place next doors but I do like how it's a hole in the wall type of spot. Inside, The Pho 2 doesn't have that much seating. When I went, there weren't that many people so it was easy to get seated and the food came out super quick. I decided to order the flank pho and the size of the bowl was HUGE. They give you a lot of soup - and a decent amount of meat and noodles. On the side, it also comes with your classic bean sprouts, mint, and lime. Flavor wise it packed a punch and they had your classic sauces on the side - as well as chili oil that they have too. Their menu is very small so you know the kitchen doesn't overcomplicate making food - which I love when it comes to restaurant efficiency. For my fix of pho, I'll be back to have some more! read more

Ordered Pho and didn't receive vermicelli noodles. Instead my noodles were linguine. Meat was also well done instead of the raw rib eye that you put in the broth so it allows it to cook. Did not enjoy soup at all read more

Pretty good and authentic Vietnamese place in Chelsea, NYC! Not so many choices of Asian restaurants around but here is a decent place to be comfortable! Clean and nice atmosphere. Waitresses are nice and trustworthy :) It was Friday afternoon but the place was lively. Ordered Beef Broth Pho with Flank and Brisket! It was delicious and great potion. It was kind of cold and a perfect day for a nice and hot Pho. Pho is a dish soup from Vietnamese that have broth, rice noodles, herbs, cilantro, bean sprouts, and meat, in this opportunity my pho had flank and brisket and I added extra chicken, because is always nice to have extra protein. The pho was fine, the size was pretty big, the protein was enough but the extra protein was a lot I will say, the broth had a good taste but the noodles was just fine I was not impressing of the taste. Services was fine with is weird on Vietnamese places, beside the bill being weird because each item came with the tax, and I need to share the table with a stranger because the place was pack and the places is pretty small, it was an OK experience. read more
I was meeting a friend for a quick weeknight dinner. We arrived pretty close to closing but the staff was nice to let us order quickly and our food came out immediately as well. We had a couple Thai teas which were super good and not overly sweet. I had a beef flank and brisket pho and my friend had the chicken pho. The pho was pretty good, but did get cold pretty quickly. It had pretty good flavors and I loved how cozy the restaurant was. Overall, decent spot for a quick dinner. read more
Friendly service although they seem a bit understaffed - it took a while for them to refill my water during dinner time on Friday. It's a bit of a small place, so try not to bring more than 4 people here. I got the grilled pork vermicelli noodles which was really delicious! However, the pork was a little too dry for me. It made it hard to eat my dish. Which was a bit disappointing. The pho, which my mom, got was tasty! It's packed with good flavors. The fried spring rolls was oddly the highlight - it was so crispy, juicy on the inside, and quite big! I can tell it was freshly fried which might be why it was such a highlight for me. I was really disappointed with my most recent visit. This was a solid spot which I used to frequently visit whenever I was in the neighborhood but had not been back since the pandemic started.... The pho came quick, large portions (never left hungry), tasty warm soup, nice staff and very competitively priced (around $12-14 a bowl of pho). The pho still comes out relatively quick, portions still large, soup tasted incredibly bland and flavorless and it's now $19 a bowl (after tax & tip). I really don't mind the price increase given inflation/higher rent etc, but I was really disappointed in how bad the soup had become. The staff weren't that nice either - one of my friends pointed out a spillage on the floor which fell on deaf ears.... and they offered us 1 bowl of pho condiments for 3 bowls of pho instead of 1-1 like some other tables(?). It's a little sad.... if I had yelp at the time of visiting before my last, I would have rated this a solid 4.5/5. I don't think I'll go back. read more

Was looking for Pho and stumbled across this gem. Beef pho was perfect and very filling, also got a side of spring rolls (comes with 4pc) count finish it all. Small on the inside so would recommend for either solo or for a couple. Great service and attentive staff. read more

Came here on a cold night with an intense craving for soup and was pretty happy! Food: The mushroom & tofu pho was really good! The broth tasted different than any vegetarian pho broth I had tasted before, it seemed like they might have made it with mushrooms themselves. Whatever it was, I was a big fan of the broth & finished it all! Would definitely be back for it. Portion was HUGE too. Ambiance: Not that much space to work with & the tables are pretty close together. The chalk menu on the wall makes it feel kind of homey, but there wasn't that much going for it. Didn't think it was dirty like other reviewers though. Service: Wasn't rude! Wasn't overly nice either, just enough & I'm okay with that LOL. read more
The Pho 2 (and 1, 3, 5 and 6) is probably my favorite pho place I've ever been to. I've stopped trying other places in NYC and chose to just go here. They have HUGE bowls of pho - they recently raised their prices to $12 a bowl but it's still a great deal. I highly recommend their veggie bowl, it's loaded. their flank and brisket is also really delicious. They also have really delicious Vietnamese iced coffee I highly recommend. I haven't eaten here since the pandemic but they've always had a very active take out even before restrictions so get a bowl delivered some rainy night! When things are up and running, the 2, 5 and 6 location have bathrooms but 1 and 3 don't. read more

A group of friends and I ate here with mixed reviews. It's a small space but we managed to be seated right away and the service was quick. We did notice some rickety chairs. I ordered the shrimp vermicelli bowl and it was flavorful, not to mention the portion size was generous. There was a good amount of shrimp in it too. While I personally liked my dish, unfortunately some of my friends weren't as satisfied with theirs. Overall, a decent spot if you're looking for Vietnamese food in the city! read more
My friend brought us here as he has come before covid and said it was big and flavorful bowls of pho for a really good price. Sadly, most of that must have changed since he had last been here. The restaurant was a bit dirty as there was a small water puddle beneath our table when we sat down. The chairs and tables were also a bit uneven, so we made sure to be extra careful. The food itself was alright, but not good enough to come back, especially for the higher prices. read more

Absolutely delicious pho broth! Honest look y, they're quite enormous portions as well... we loved the beef as well as the catfish, and had a nice time in a simply decorated, comfortable place. It was a little confusing on how to order, but I think they were just short some staff that night. Anyway, we plan to come back every single time we go to the Metropolitan; the pho is strong here! read more
Yummy pho. I got a flank and brisket ($12) pho. The portion size was more of a dieting portion if you want to lose weight. The flavor is bland, but the comfort is there. The meat is cut into smaller pieces. I am not sure if that is to help them save money or if some customers can't eat larger pieces. Overall, it was okay, but I can tell they are trying really hard to conserve garnishes and condiments. Finding good pho in NYC is such a hard task. I came to The Pho 2 with a few friends for lunch. The staff was friendly and efficient! We let them know that we had only about 30 to 40 minutes ahead of time, and they assured us that they could accommodate. The four of us got the Flank and Brisket noodle soup (pho, it was delicious. It came very quickly as well. It was a delight to discover such delicious and authentic food in Midtown. Will definitely return! read more
Meant to go to Just Pho but due to time constraints we came here. The place is cute but small. However the pho was delicious sadly the service wasn't good. The waitresses were running around but when we asked for a refill the lady seemed to act as if we were a nuisance to her. Plus they only gave us one quarter of a lime for our large pho. If you can get past that I would say to give this place a try because the food is good. read more

Hello all! Just want to give an update! There have been price increases. Soups have increased by 4/5 dollars Banh Mi have increased by 3 dollars Apps by 2 dollars Tacos by 2 dollars Vermicelli noodles by 2/3 Just in case if you are wondering. I just noticed it today. My heart broke. Rent must be going up. Sad to see the increase. read more

Is there a vegetarian/vegan broth available for Pho?
A customer asked the waitress this question when I was there. She was told that the broth was not vegetarian. You can order Pho without meat but the broth will not be vegetarian or vegan.
