Macy's you should be ashamed of yourself as a business. I understand as a business you have "protocols", but what my husband went through 2weeks ago on a Wednesday morning was unacceptable. I also understand that as a business in todays atmosphere you need to protect yourself from product loss, but again how my husband was treated is unacceptable. I had asked for Christmas a pair of stud ear rings. Nothing special, just a pair of stud ear rings. He went to Macy's at Stoneridge mall and saw the fine jewelry section was roped off and asked for help. He was told he would have to make an appointment at another time to receive any help. Oh, did I mention he left work to make this trip from San Leandro since he works 6 days a week and has a blood clot in his leg so the walk he had to take in the mall was for absolutely nothing. Seriously Macy's, your just that a Macy's nothing special and from here on out will not be getting any of our business again. read more

Five stars for Denise @ the Urban Decay counter! I needed fancy make-up for an Engagement Photo Shoot. With the promise of purchasing 3 products, my face got dolled up. Using techniques I know I'll never be able to do on my own. It's awesome to have someone teach you how, all the while - see and try it before you buy! I left with light but full coverage foundation that I'll use for fancy occasions, a matching foundation brush and the really cool brow kit. Thanks Macy's and Denise, I'm totally coming back. read more

Needed some dressy casual shoes and Macy's had more to pick from than Nordstroms. They gave me 20% off and I also signed up for an account and will get another 15% off. My wife then bought two matress cover heaters for winter to use my discount and it ended up costing over $500 for the day. Next time I'll go shoe shopping by myself. read more

First I've lived in the area since 1990. I was visiting today. In the men's store, each level only had three register areas operating at 11am Black Friday. I tried on clothes as I donated quite a bit recently. I asked an employee who was busy talking about life to a customer friend. I asked if she could ring me up. She declined saying there are only designated areas. I asked what her job is. She said organizing. I thanked her walked away. She went back to her friend and did that for half the time I was in line of my 40 minutes. When it was my time to ring up, the cashier interrupted my transaction to call on her phone and request "chair," time. She also declined giving me hangers for my Tommy Bahama shirt, a sweater and a $95 Polo shirt. The only other cashier was on the phone for 15 minutes helping a customer open a Macy's account. I wanted to pay with my debit card but she said their system was down. I paid cash, a few hundred There is a reason retail is failing. I was told by a woman customer who was behind me that the women's department had every cashier open and it went fast. Macy's, that was the last time I shop in person at your store with the exception of Macy's in San Francisco. I'm sticking to Nords where I walked next, they were polite and caring to me. I bought dress shirts from them. By the way, Nords provided me with extra hangers. read more

This Macy's is one of two really good Macy's in Northern California, the other being Valley Fair. Maybe I'm a bit more partial to this one since my mom works here and I have a few other friends that work here as well. However, this Macy's in particular always has a decent amount of stuff on sale at almost any given time. For the most part its fairly clean and and with the exception of the Junior's department all the staff are really friendly and professional. The Junior's department seems to have a really big turnover, but given it IS the Junior department, you have to take that as a given. read more

Had a wonderful experience today at the men's department! I was looking for a last minute birthday gift for the bf and I stumbled upon the wallets section. They had Guess Wallets on sale for 30% off! I picked a black leather one which was originally tagged $46 dollars. When I got to the counter, the nice gentleman asked if I had a Macy's card and nope I didn't. I didn't care about getting an additional 15% off since the wallet was on sale anyways. But he actually went ahead and scanned their discount card for me! Instead of paying 30 something bucks for the wallet, I only paid $28 (including tax!) That made my trip worth it! :) thanks Macy's!! Before I headed to Macy's, I actually stopped by the Guess store to check out the wallets. Their variety was sooooo small (there were about 3 designs to choose from) and I wasn't about to pay full price for a similar one. read more

I can't believe all the complaints for one the Macy's associates might not understand English they may be hearing impaired they may be slow thinkers but for whatever reason it isn't always a racist situation. Let's be kinder to one another I love Macy's my job teacher teaching children and adults manners and politeness. Thank you Macy's for your service. read more

So the dress I originally picked up from Marika was too big. I really should have listened to her when she suggested I try it on:} However, long story short this dress was marked down for last act and at one point I had put a smaller size on hold. When I got there is was gone and I had lost all hope of getting a smaller size. A few days later I decided to call again and of course Marika my ANGEL came through. She literally crawled through the store looking for the smaller size dress and then a half an hour later she called me back and she found it. I am still amazed by her talents and her SUPERIOR Skills in clothing sleuth. I can never thank her enough for going up and beyond the typical store service. Thank you so much Marika, I will always be forever grateful for all that you did for me;}. You can see the dress on my OPAL's review and it fit perfect:} read more

Review for Macy's Women's store jewelry and watch dept. I have bought a few pieces of jewelry and watches over the years at this department and have noticed the service go down hill the last several years. I wanted to buy another watch today and stopped in and nobody was available to help me so I asked another dept for their help and they suggested anyone in jewelry can help - I asked a women in jewelry if I could see a watch and she said she would get someone right over - I saw the clerk talk to another women that evidently was supposed to help me and she took her sweet #ss time evidently she must have felt is was beneath to help a customer - The last time I was in the store same situation I had to track down someone to help that again did not seem even a bit interested in helping - no more I will shop and Nordy's around the corner pay a bit more, get better quality and guess what service. read more

Horrible customer service .... came into return line and lady didn't even acknowledge us (we were the only ones in line). I was with my 70 year old Mom who had to return an online order. After waiting for a minute my mom asked "is there someone who can help me" and she replied with snark response "I'll be with you". Now a simple "hello I'll be with you in a few minutes" would have been nice and vs standing at the register right in front of us and completely ignoring us and then barking at us when we asked for help. We were at Nordstroms and the walking company earlier and they know how to hire competent polite staff members. read more

I believe the Men's dept staff here have definitely stepped up their performance. I had some massive exchanges because I got all wrong sizes - and w/o issues, Mahsa (Mgr) came to my rescue. After an employee (did not get her name) looked for someone to help...Mahsa looked up my items and did the exchange for me. I guess I will take her advice and get a Macy's card. Hahahahaha read more

I went to the urban decay counter to ask if they can do my make up for my company holiday party on 12/7 around 1:30 pm and was told no that I needed and appointment. Mind you they had no costumer and it was 3 employees just talking to each other. I was planning on buying product but they completely refuse. I been getting my make-up done here for over 10 years without an appointment. I always buy around $100 worth of make-up product but after the way I was treated I went elsewhere. I will never buy make-up from them again. read more

I was in the men shoes department, needing help with getting shoes my size and no associate was found. When I asked the person at the register, he said I had to get in line and they'd check if the shoe size was in stock. after waiting 10 minutes in line(which felt like a lot more) and another 5 minutes for him to get the shoe, he comes back to tell me they don't have it after all. Definitely, their customer service is in decline. I'm considering taking my business somewhere else. read more

Pleasanton ca Macy's customer service SUCKS. Rude, will not let customers talk, will talk over you, not willing to help. All they do is transfer all calls. I'm on the phone for 1hr to talk to someone in the nike Dept regarding a size...no one is answering the phones. I'm asking for help and out of all the departments someone in the makeup department helped me but she's limited on nike products. I came in this last Sunday as part of an event hosted by St. Rose Hospital. The Macy's staff was incredible and incredibly accommodating! Everyone that we interacted with was friendly and so helpful. They truly changed my mind about mall shopping, especially during the holidays. Thank you, Macy's! read more

Absolutely horrible. Tried buying Christmas gifts so I was in the sports section. Of course everything raiders is locked but no one was working. We were there for 30-45mins trying to get a damn jacket. We kept asking for help and all we got was "there should be a young guy working there". Finally we get one sweet older lady who ran around the store for 15mins trying to find the keys, got sent in wrong directions and finally got the key to get us the jacket. Then we get dragged to a different register to save time and the girl who was nice didnt know how to remove a certain lock so we had to hunt for another register to get it removed. Absolutely ridiculous and a waste of time. read more

This incident happened in MAC inside Macy's. I went to buy eyeliner from MAC. The sales person a girl was serving some customers. I waited 15 minutes for my turn to come. When my turn comes I tell her about the eyeliner I want. I was only one at that time. She told me about some discounts going on in lipsticks. I went there and pick one. I was finished. She just need to take out a fresh lipstick and check me out. She didn't do that. Just right that moment some other customer came in to return something. She didn't finished with me. Didn't even tell me anything and go to the other customers. I was surprised and waited for them to finish to see what is happening. Another customer walked in and she started serving them also without telling me anything. More 10 minutes later At that point I told her did she want to sell me stuff or not. Because she didn't saying anything to me. She told me in a loud voice "excuse me you can go away!!!I don't want to sell anything to you.!!!!"why? I am brown but looking Hispanic. Don't know which ground she did that behavior. Completely racist behavior. I feel really humiliated. I don't know what is the action after that but I asked for the manager or supervisor. Supervisor came in but he talked with me like it is nothing. It feels like it is a regular behavior as I am brown/Hispanic. I told him what happened. He asked me what I need now? Do I need to buy the product? I told him yes. And he tell me she will now sell you products. I need the product so I purchased that from her because the manager kind of insist me to buy it from her. But she didn't say sorry or anything to me. I was in a hurry so I didn't go for like calling police or something or make any scene. Come home and share this to my husband and he tell me I should call the police. Because this is racist behavior. Yes next time when if it happens I will call the police or sue them for this kind of behavior. They should maintain the rules to serve all the customers equally. I am a regular customer at Macy's for years. Clothes to furniture I purchase everything from Macy's . This is the first time I had this. This is unbelievable behavior. I hope officials from Macy's should know what happened there. They should maintain their standard. read more

Macys women. They had a dress sale 70-80% and my wife needed a dress for a up coming wedding so she tried on dresses and I waited with our two kids. After, an hour she found the one she liked and we went to the register where an Asian lady with thick Accent sold me a rewards program for $ 25.00 dollars and didn't tell me it cost $25.00 it was just a rewards account for points. Then she told me there was only 30% discount on the dress not 70-80%, and then she was asking my wife how old she was and how old I was and what country we were from. I felt like I was at a immigration hearing as an illegal alien. I've been shopping at Macy's for more than 30 years but that was the last time i shop there again! False advertising, sales people adding on rewards that they say are free, and asking personal questions at the cash register! Amazon I'm coming right back! read more

Worst service ever at the women's shoe department! If i could give it 0 stars i would. He didn't want to help me at all, when i called his name to help me I had to do it 3 times before he wanted to even look at me! Still hate you. Unfortunately, you are the only one who had the jacket I wanted, and so I ordered online and hoped to do an in-store pickup quickly and without any tense or awkward moments. Yet here I am, standing in a line a dozen folks deep and wondering if the weather will have warmed before I will actually get to wear this jacket. Also, can you explain a couple things? You have pickup lockers, yet my email saying my order was ready did not have a locker or QR code. And why would you have 3 lines, one for order pickup, two for returns and other transactions, and yet you insist we all stand in the one line? I think it's because you have no clue that people shop online for convenience and in store pickup should be just that. read more

I am a salesperson's dream customer..... well I was tonight. After work, I decided to stop at Stoneridge and look for the black on black sheepskin lined crocs that I have been looking for.... for a couple of weeks. I always knew that when women start wearing shoes for comfort, that they are old.... well I am there, bitches. It's all about comfort with me now. Immediately scoring a front parking space, I knew it was my night at the mall. Heading straight for the shoe department is like having a cheeseburger about to enter your mouth. I saw the croc display and MOTHER FUCKING BINGO!!!! My size, my color.... the very last pair. I walked towards the cashier and a very handsome gentleman approached me asking if I needed help. Well, my good looking, metro, probably gay piece of Macy's meat:: I need to pay for these bad boys. And just like that. SCORE! Thanks Macy's! I love you. read more

Damn the gentrification of the Pleasantmore area. When I was exiled out in Live-no-more a few years ago, I could always get a great deal in the clearance piles here. The local population at the time was still heavily skewed toward the big and the tall, so piles of smaller sizes and athletic cuts gathered dust and price-reduction tags. What deals! They got better with inventory management over the years, but still, I always found lots of 40% stuff that wasn't XXL, fatass, or super-fatass. Then a more diverse crowd moved in, drove up housing prices, and lowered the overall body mass of the Stoneridge complex. Now with the economy in the dumpster, the sale racks are back but it's mostly XL, like any place west of the hills. Damn it. I need more boring no-wrinkle clothing for work. But another thing has changed. While I was looking at shirts, a tiny Asian woman walks up and almost (until I moved backward quickly) tugs my sleeve. "Good! Come here! See! Come here!" She points toward a particular rack full of some kind of house-brand polos and shorts, none of which would interest me. I return my gaze to the rack in front of me and ponder whether a velvet blazer at 40% off is cool or stupid. "No! O hee-ah! Good! Best! Here!" She slowly walks toward the rack, turning, pointing, and beckoning. I smile and head in the other direction, then later see various people get intercepted as they walk in through the mall entrance. They flinch and scurry away. "Best! Here! Come!" Is there also haggling now? Will they follow you around waving forlorn bright orange mock turtlenecks? "Twenty-five! Look at this fabric! Twenty-two! Ah, handsome man! For you, twenty!" read more

OK, really. Enough is enough. I have a problem of the retail variety. . . . . MUST STOP BUYING SHOES AND LINGERIE!!!! There, I said it. Maybe now the madness will stop. How many pairs of high-heeled shoes and matching bra and thong sets does a girl need? If you want to answer a rhetorical question, go ahead. Macy's has a good selection of my aforementioned vices. I actually went in to *look* and walked out with a pair of peep-toe pumps and a hot-pink bra and thong set. Hmmmm, did I need these things? Not by a long shot. But Macy's is always having a sale, so little financial harm was done. But, seriously, anyone want to start a shoe/lingerie support group? read more

I'm definitely a Macy's kinda girl for sure. At least this Macy's. Macy's is certainly one of my go-to places when it comes to stocking my wardrobe, and I especially like this particular store compared to others. This store is fairly large, and offers a more broad selection of designer clothes ect. I have been a fan of specific brands such as Style&Co, Calvin Klein, Bar III, I.N.C and additional brand name clothes, they thankfully provide. They also have an excellent selection of petite clothes! Macy's is also where I usually get my handbags. From anywhere from Coach, Guess, and as of recently, a beautiful teal purse by Tignanello. I also got an additional 20% off. Which reminds me, the SALES they have! They are always offering spectacular deals and discounts, and especially online : ) Not always on my clothes of choice, but every now and then I'll luck out. Service is usually a hit and miss at most Macy's, however most of the time its a hit here. Until something drastically changes, I will forever always be, a Macy's girl : ) read more

Okay, so I had the WORST customer service at the Macy's shoe department! Yes, that one star is all because of them. They sent in a Spend $20, Get $10 Off With This Coupon coupon. So, I was thinking I should get myself some cute sandals, since I grew a shoe size (now at a monstrously large size 9). So I ambled over to the shoe department. Lemme give you the gist of what it looked like: There was a lot of people. There were a lot of sales. There were A LOT of shoes. Wait...where are all the sales people? I literally waited 20-30 minutes just to snag a saleslady to get my size in my shoe, then another 10-20 minutes waiting for her to come back with that shoe in my size, then another 10 minutes explaining that no, this isn't my size, and no, i don't like this color either. After almost an hour spent at the shoe department alone in search of the perfect sandal... I gave up. I complained to the sales people and myself. And then you know what? I marched over to Stevie Madden's. My money and time was spent much better there. read more
