Almost no one is shopping on the ground floor. Don't go unless you have a coupon or there's a sale. I like the caftan styles they've stocked but I didn't feel compelled to try anything on. I was looking for eye masks but they didn't have any. Shop at a different location if you must go to this department store. The dressing rooms are usually empty. The juniors area is a little depressing because the 65% off rack has tops that seem to be regular price (~$33). The selection doesn't compare to Nordstrom but my mother bought a couple of shirts for herself. There only seemed to be a couple of open counters. I usually buy most of cosmetics here. Whether it's Chanel, Lancome, Clinique, or Bobbi Brown, the salespeople at these makeup counters are ready to help. Mayte, the salesperson at the Lancome counter, spent almost an hour helping me pick out the correct foundation last week. She's always friendly and patient, even when I come in and ask a ton of questions. I also like the shoe department here. In the last couple of years, they have expanded their shoe department and the selection is amazing. I can't always get a salesperson to help right away, but sometimes it's nice to browse without a salesperson hovering. I also can't say that other departments are as nice as the cosmetics or shoe departments. Sometimes the other (clothing) departments are a bit of a mess, and I get frustrated when I can't find the items I need. The customer service in these departments can be a bit of a hit or miss here too. The customer service in cosmetics is always amazing, and I love shopping the shoe department here. These great departments will remain my main reason for shopping at Macy's! read more

Macy's Brea in their furniture department had absolutely no service at all! My husband and I were totally ignored and had to go find a salesperson for that department. When my husband found a sales lady She was helping another customer but said she would be with us. We waited 45 minutes with no acknowledgement about how much longer Or anything we just left. read more

I do like Macy's for the most part. This particular one though seems to have problems with super long transactions. The associates are always very apologetic, but it's still annoying to have to wait so long. Otherwise, this Macy's is nice and clean, well organized, and easy to shop. They have a furniture and mattress clearance section in the back of the Men's department, which is also the best place to park, even then the mall is busy. Another thing I do love is they will work with all the coupons you have and choose the best one to save you the most. Macy's restrictions are super annoying, but again, I give the associates credit for working with you to get the best deal. This might just be why some of their transactions take so long. When I went this morning Alize from womens perfume section approached me and she was so nice and showed me where to find the mens Macys... At mens perfume section the lady there was not helpful to me, I got so confused so I left... I went back to womens perfume and saw Alize and again she was so approachable and he brought me to Dan... I ran into Macy's during my lunch break for a few things and was very frustrated trying to check out on the first floor as they were very short staffed (which I am empathetic to, but only had a limited amount of time). I don't usually review stores this way but Macy's is a different beast. We waited 20+ minutes with the line literally not moving at all. There were 3 or 4 cashiers and they just were chatting with customers for minutes with one even going with a customer to shop in the kitchen section for several minutes. When I say literally here, I mean the actual definition, not an exaggeration. We were second from the front of the line, which started with maybe just 4 people when we started standing in it. It was incredible in the worst way. There was a line forming behind us of maybe 20 and when I looked back, everyone just quit and went elsewhere nearing the half hour mark, so we ended up buying nothing as well. This review is for the Men's Department. I stopped in a couple of weeks ago to pick up a suit and received excellent service from an employee named Ed. Mind you i have plenty of suits and I've shopped at pretty high end stores but the one on one service i received at this Macy's really impressed me. No pressure to buy just good old fashion service coupled with honest fashion advice. Fast forward to today, my wife and i stopped in to pick up a pair of dress shoes and received the same type of one on one personalized service from Steve who runs the Men's Shoe Department. Both Steve and Ed have raised the bar when it comes to retail service. They are excellent representatives for Macy's and i will continue shopping here. read more

There's two separate buildings for Macy's. I went to the one located closer to the Olive Garden. Customer service was good in the men's section as I was shopping for a dinner jacket. An employee offered help within a few minutes of me getting there and didn't bother me once I told him that I was just looking. I found that there were lots of sales even a week prior to Black Friday. They had some pretty affordable ones, but they weren't what I wanted. read more

I guess I should have read the reviews before going. I would have avoided the unpleasant experience of this Macy's. I remember a day I used to feel fancy and spoiled like I was treating myself to go shopping here. This location has pretty much nothing going for it anymore. Things are hard to find. ZERO customer service. The dressing rooms were a disaster. It's hot, so trying on clothes is miserable. At check out it took 3 ladies to help one customer as they argued about what to do and I stood there waiting to pay. Unless this location cleans up its act, I won't soon revisit. Note to department store workers: part of your job which you get PAID to do is HELPING AND BEING PLEASANT TO CUSTOMERS. Maintaining the dressing room when lazy people leave their stuff behind. And, at a place like MACY'S you need to do it even better. Deal with it or find another job that makes you less angry at life. read more

Adding on to my prior review. Clerk was is such a hurry to ring me out once I told her I didn't want to do pre sale. She would not allow me to locate my coupons. I've been coming to Macy's for awhile, now. Compares to Kohl's or Target, the prices, selection, and brands just boil down to Macy's being better in all of that. If you're a Star Rewards member, there's a chance of getting discounts mailed to you or printed out for you after you've purchased something. Plenty of fine print and exclusions, though. With more JCPenneys and Sears closing down, though, I'm sure there'll be more patrons at Macy's in the next few years. I used to think that Macy's was pretty high-class, but they may have to go for the profit-by-volume versus profit-by- high-prices to meet with new clientele. Some of the Macy's including parts of this one was just a bit messy, disorganized, or unsanitary compared to how it was years ago. I still like this Macy's due to its accessibility, and they do have a wide selection for whatever you may be looking for. I just try and grab and pay for what I need versus staying too long or browsing. Love the Home section! Not every Macy's has one close by. read more

This review is for the Clinique counter inside Macy's. I was just looking to buy a replacement of my favorite lip tint and for some reason couldn't seem to locate the makeup on the counter, there was an asian lady who appeared to be in her 60's at the register and I simply said to her "hi, where is the makeup located" she turned around and said "on the other side but I'm not clocked in yet, I have 3 minutes". First of all, I didn't ask her for anything but a mere question of where it is located which she answered, but how rude was it to have added "I have 3 minutes". I don't care about how long she had left to clock in to work, I didn't ask how long before she could assist me with purchasing an item, I simply asked where is it. Now I bit my tongue and ignored her terrible customer service and I walked around to where she said the item was, I still could not find it so now I'm looking for assistance. There was another employee there, a hispanic lady appeared to be in her 50's at the other register, I said "excuse me", she ignored me, I spoke up louder and said "excuse me can i get some assistance", now she turns around looks at me and says "I'm busy hold on", she didn't even wait for me to acknowledge what she said before she turned back around to the computer screen. By now I'm really upset, but still I waited for her to finish whatever it was that was so important because there was not a single other person than myself at that counter needing assistance. I waited some more but then SHE GETS ON THE PHONE and dials who knows who and stands there presumably on hold not saying a word. Now I'm livid and I walked out wishing I would have just ordered it online. Honestly this has been the worst customer service I have ever gotten at a Macy's. If anyone who manages the clinique counter is reading this please do the world a favor and retrain the staff on what good customer service consists of. This is the type of service I expect to get from young employees and kids who don't know better but these ladies were both well seasoned and should have understanding of what customer service consists of. Went into Macy's to do some shopping. The store was clean and well taken care of unlike other stores I have visited. The men's department had a lot of good sales here. There was not items laying all over the floor. They keep this store clean and well stocked. My purchases were easy and fast thanks to the great staff working here. They all made my visit great!! Thanks Macys!! The prices are good on some items. Cant wait for the after Christmas sale here, always a good one for mens clothing and shoes.. The parking here was ok for a holiday shopping day. I parked close when another car had left a great space open. There was many more spaces out in the lot. Very well lit parking. I felt comfortable walking to the store. read more

Minute I walked into Macys, I got sprayed on by heavy musky perfume I did NOT like only to be glared up and down by the perfume Nazi's standing in the front of the store. If a customer says...NO THANK YOU, that means stand back and don't try to push your product to their face! And this is just the beginning.... I went to Macy's to purchase an SPF lotion from Clinique. It was their bonus time and I was waiting for this event. I approached the counter and the sales person quickly asked what I needed. I told her I was interested in the City block 25 and asked if that would qualify for the free gift. She looked at me straight in the eyes and said NO with a stern look that almost made me feel guilty for even asking. I was interested in their night cream moisturizers but before I could ask more details about the product, she goes back and grabs two City Blocks and tells me I should just purchase two. Taken back by her aggressive attitude, I did not want to deal with her any more at this point. Throughout the whole 5 minutes I spent at the Clique counter, her attitude was not only forceful but unforgivingly nonchalant that made you feel not wanted. My friend and I went back to this same Macy's but to a different Clinique counter on the 1st floor and we got the same bad service from them as well. My conclusion? Most of the time I have to suffer and get the bad end of the stick because everything related to children is designed for women. Totally Convenient. I can shop for myself also. This Macy's is a department store where you can buy lots of different things from shoes, make up, clothes, and even furniture. But at this location the Macy's furniture is on the opposite side of the mall. When I go and walk inside the store the shoes is pretty neat and tidy but when you go to the adult area of the fitting room to try on clothing, it is a mess! A total disaster but sometimes it is and other times it is really clean. :) Also if you do get a few workers most of the time they are very helpful especially when you need to get something specific. Such as pair of jeans or maybe you need some make up. They will defiantly help you out. I also do like the deals that they do. ZERO STARS!!! this is a copy of my email that i sent the managers after they reviewed the complaint i wrote online. it was a video and pictures of needles that covered the dressing room floor in which my boyfriend was trying on his suit. She tried to tell me that they get picked up every few hours of then day even though the workers who actually work in that area say they just vacuum every morning. A vacuum isn't going to pick up those needles that are pushed in the carpet. Really wish you can upload videos on here cuz then you would be able to see the way the whole dressing room looked dear ____, Please take a look at the link above. It's the video i took in the dressing room where my husband was trying on his suit before he stepped on the needle that was facing upwards pictured below. I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that you actually had people take out the pins from the carpet because 3 of your employees told me that you guys just vaccum including the rude dressing room attendant that was working that day. When my husband told him that he was bleeding because he stepped on a pin, all the employee had to say was "we vacuum every morning." he did not address the situation at all. He literally just turned his back on us. That is unacceptable! It also disgusts me because someone could have stepped on that exact pin before my husband did! They could have been sick or had something! We paid $120 dollars for a Kenneth Cole suit while we were there. We go into your store hoping to have a pleasant experience to get a suit for his sisters wedding but instead, this is what we get. Macy's and all big box stores should realize that the reason , the last of their customers come into the store is because we still want one on one customer service vs online purchase. I and another customer recently had a very non service experience in your men's Cologne department We stood for several minutes waiting for someone to assist us. There were 4-5 employees standing close bye who never approached us to assist,regardless if it was their department or not,they avoided eye contact and continued personal conversations, both of us left, hence "no sale for your company"! This is why customers are opting to go online, why not , why go to your store and get "no sevice", when you can shop at home and have it delivered. I have never been a big fan of Macy's, but today I am your biggest fan because of one employee! Julie Richards-Hughes! She is the first person to ever go out of her way to show me clothing that I may like to add to what I was purchasing, she also told me which items were going on sale and put them aside had me purchase on my Macy's card and offered to ship them for me so I would get the extra savings. I saved an extra $65. She was so friendly and offered to help me next time shop for clothing as I can never navigate through the store and find which departments fit my age and style. I really appreciated her help and they should hire and train more employees like her for a more Nordstrom's experience. It would do them good during a time when so many department stores are going bankrupt! I think Nordstrom has been going down hill with there clothing so you should jump on it!! read more

Fashion. I really like this Macy's - much nicer than the one at the Main Place mall and not as dickish as the one in South Coast. They have a huge selection and variety of dress shirts for the work week and quiksilver shirts (which is pretty much all i wear). Most of their dress shirts are on sale on the weekends, which is when I go to stock up. The staff is weakest point- never that friendly, but not rude either. I guess I really appreciate that Macy's puts a lot of effort in the guy's store- sometimes guy's Macys can look like a swap meet- that's the case here. read more
