Let me publicly warn you- the owner (Joel) is out to take advantage of you. He is a compulsive liar & I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere for moving services. We are filing a formal complaint with the BBB- and I feel it my responsibility to WARN you of this guy. Don't let his fancy website fool you, this joke of a company is run by a kid that lied to us on multiple occasions, tried to cover up damaged posessions, and never follows through with what he says he'll do. Never. Best part of all- he does it all with a smile on his face, acts dumb and innocent. Hes a compulsive liar. Read on: 1. First of all, this "company" was referred to us from a friend, so we went into this with some confidence and a positive mindset. 2. Signed an agreement/scheduled our move for 1pm on a Friday for a move across town. We spent days preparing and scheduled off work. After 1pm came and went, we called Joel at 1:30 to see where he was at. Apparently, they had another move in the morning (we expected this)- and the closing was delayed. So all the stuff was on their trucks & they were waiting. He said theyd show up to us by 4pm (at the latest). We wait until 4pm, and still no sign of Joel & the boys. After another call to him, he states he will not be able to make it until "closer to 7pm". Fast forward to 9pm, remember originally scheduled for 1pm -- Joel and crew arrive. Apparently the delayed closing pushed them back 8 hours somehow.. Highly suspicious. They get out and start packing our belongings. He's got a couple solid workers on his team, and a couple turds. One guy smelled horrible and stunk up the whole house. Onions anyone? They wrapped & protected furniture, which took way more time than actually moving the stuff. Not faulting them here- but with any mover, remember you are paying by the hour & this ate up a TON of time, so gotta decide whats worth wrapping in blankets and kling-wrap for 20 minutes, versus just putting on the truck or putting a blanket over it in 2 minutes. The workers looked tired, so we replenished them with 18oz Monsters, and made a McDonalds run at 11pm and treated the crew to burgers & fries. Come 4:30AM, yes you read that right, we finally finished moving. (We were moving from a 3bed 1600sq ft house) and moved 5 mins away. We helped with moving all day/night alongside the crew as well. Joel refused to take any money off our bill stating "we are not responsible for arriving late", and proceeded to charge us extra for the 3 extra workers and 1 extra truck. We did not agree with this, however it was written on the back of his paper & we were exhausted. We gave them a generous tip (as we couldn't fault his workers) and figured we were done with him. 3. One day later, it was discovered my brand new workbench ($700) was damaged during the move. The side handle was literally ripped off the side, shearing the bolts & sheet metal. It was hanging from one end, and pushed into the corner to hide it. Nice try. We took photos and tried to contact Joel. His cell phone number changed. Tried a different # after some searching and finally got ahold of him. He sounded very appologetic and asked for us to send him the picture and he'd get back to us. Sent everything, 3 weeks pass- he never gets back to us. After several phone calls he answers, and states he was "just about to e-mail us back"- how Ironic! We are provided with two options : have someone weld the handle back on, or take $200. We opt for the money. He promises to send a check. 3 weeks later, no check. We call him, he says the insurance just cleared it, and hes now sending the check. One week later, no check- I now text him angry and upset- He states the check was mailed but mustve been lost. He says he'll drop the money off personally that day- never shows up and stops answering his phone. Stay away! I will GLADLY sacrifice my $200 to make this guy lose business for his repeated lies & excuses. Throw me a thumbs UP if you decide to look elsewhere after reading this- you'll be glad you did. read more

Very happy with this moving company. They moved all our furniture & boxes in Riverside and drove to Lombard. Everything was packed prior to there arrival. The Riverside apartment was on the third floor with NO elevator. They used to back set of stairs so they would not bother the folks in the front entrance, which was much harder to do. Very hard to carry down the stairs with many turns but they new dinged the furniture. They wrapped all furniture and beds in plastic for protection including the big TV screen. You fill out forms on-line noting all your furniture, you estimate how many boxes you think you will pack. They will sell you boxes if needed. We did not purchase boxes we had enough of our own. Very reasonable price, you will get two calls, one once they receive your request for movers and a call the day before the move. The workers carry everything. At the new apartment they had to load the elevator & take to the 12th floor. No dings on the furniture, nothing damaged. A lot of heavy book boxes and shelving to move. Hard workers and very polite. Satisfied with the cost to move. Mark your boxes and the move will be quick and organized and they will take to each room. Excellent Company. read more

I have used many different moving companies and they all seem to be similar when it comes to rates, number of movers provided and liability policies. I found these guys from Thumbtack and decided to give them a try since their rate was slightly lower but the most important factor for me was they had 3 movers coming over when all other companies only provided 2 for an 1 bed move. That equates to getting the job done faster so that not only I save money but also save my time! And oh yeah, I was right of course. They finished up my move more than 1 hour earlier than my previous moves and nothing was damaged. Nothing was scratched. They wrapped just about everything with either shrink wraps or blankets real fast. I mean really really fast. These guys are terminators.. They were really good at following my instructions and everything was executed nicely. I bought them a dozen pack of Tecate for job well done on top of my more than usual tip and they gave 2 bottles back to us to enjoy. Super friendly people. We were looking for a local moving company that could help move us out of a small basement apartment. We called them at 4pm and they were ready to start that same evening at 6pm. Joel and his brother Jesus were great, very respectful and polite, and definitely reasonably priced. They have to bill for a minimum of 2 hours, which is understandable but they finished the job in just over 1 hour. It was great!!! They wrapped our furniture - couch and bed - with plastic and were very good with all the rest of the furniture. They are a small local company but very professional and efficient. I discovered Lyons Moving through a mailer and was pleasantly surprised to work directly with Joel, the owner, from the beginning. He was very responsive and helpful, ensuring we felt confident about the move. On the day of the crew of four arrived on time and were all very friendly. They took good care of our belongings to ensure everything would arrive in solid shape. At our new home they were thorough yet quick, leaving behind on a few small scuffs that are going to be easy fixes with a wipe down/touch of paint. (If you've never worked with movers, this happens! Don't stress.) The crew was also helpful to call out the scuffs and apologize which wasn't necessary, but really appreciated. I would definitely recommend them! read more

This was my first time using movers and Lyons was wonderful; I am sure I will use them again in my next move. Their base price was the same as most other moving companies, but since they don't charge a truck fee, they have a three person crew for the same price as other company's two person crew. This was really what sold me. They arrived extremely promptly, came in and immediately got to work. I was amazed watching how fast they were able to move my items out. When they had to take things up stairs to my new places, they were both careful and quick. They are very skilled at their job. The crew was professional and friendly. I've moved several times and this was by far the best moving experience yet, which is saying a lot because I now have more stuff than ever and I needed it all moved from a street-level home to one that is three flights up. We boxed our own things, but the Lyons team disassembled all of the furniture, padded and protected everything, and put it back together on the other end. Not only were they extremely careful with our things and incredibly hard working, they were also very nice to work with. The whole team was courteous and accommodating from scheduling the move date to setting the last box down. You will not find a better moving company in Chicago. read more

These guys are awesome! Joel and Jesus were very professional when they came out to give us a quote. The guys worked hard and did an amazing job moving our home professionally, quickly, and safely. I couldn't be happier with their service! Be sure, due to the fact they accept only cash or certified funds, that you have everything wrapped and ready to go. We paid 1/4 more then we hoped due to wrapping furniture for safe transport. It was still worth every penny! Joel even pointed out that if I put a piece of furniture on the floor it could scratch, then helped me find a solution saving me a scratched new floor! Thanks to the crew! Lupe & the crew are AMAZING! They moved my Great Grandmother's piano with such care & I am thrilled with their work. One of the crew members tested all of the keys before moving it & I think he even played a little song LoL! They wrapped it tightly & covered it with blankets before loading it onto their truck. They also moved some pieces of furniture along with the piano for a very reasonable price. One of the pieces was a daybed, which they disassembled & reassembled so quickly I didn't even know it was ever taken apart. This is a review for my move back in June. Lyons Moving had great communication prior to moving day. There actually was no deposit required which I was surprised. They were quick in wrapping up my furniture and disassembling anything needed from my current place. At my new place, they had to move up three flights of stairs...not very easy with all our furniture, and not to mention it was a scorching 95 degrees that day in Chicago. They did the entire one bedroom move in about 4 hours. Very honest workers - I worked with Joel and Jesus. Would definitely recommend them! read more

They arrived an hour early, which could have been communicated better because I do not live at the location where the move started from. Aside from that minor issue, the move went very well. All items were thoroughly protected. No damage was done to the hallways or any of the items being moved. Movers were very polite and efficient. The move was done in no time. They had three movers present, but only charged me for two. I was not charged for packing materials. The total price was very reasonable. Overall, it was a great experience. Just use them for my move, my first time using a moving company and I was very skeptical on if the price will remain the same after the move. Luckily, the price never changed and I paid exactly what they quoted me at first. They were very efficient, worked fast and was very careful with moving the furniture. Jesus and his Specialists Moving Services team did a terrific and quick job of loading my UHaul Box with more than I'd ever expected to fit -- worked it like a puzzle! They arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and were very friendly and agreeable. Used blankets and shrink wrap to protect the sofa, love seat, 4 kitchen chairs, and miscellaneous items. Then loaded all the boxes and bags of clothes/bedding around that load. All was secured with straps and tape. read more
