We hired Joel and his right-hand man to unload our 26' rental truck into a storage unit. They arrived on time and got down to business. When I called to set up the move, Joel told me what the price was and that there was a travel charge. A side note: I'd made the reservation for a 3-man job, but only 2 men showed. We have now used Lyons moving multiple times. Their pricing is always competitive but better. From apartments to new apartments, from apartment to storage and then again from storage to a new home. Lyons Moving was always super attentive to our questions and needs and gave us a spot on quote that was either right at or just over what our total came to which is great accuracy. They always were able to take apart furniture including ikea to make it easier to transport and then reassembled after the move. They were able to move glass which was something other companies refused. They also safely wrapped and protected passed down heirloom furniture and gave it extra care for our peace of mind. All the movers were very friendly and professional. From the first point of contact to the end, they were amazing and the only movers we would recommend. No crazy hidden fees or "service charges" like other companies in the area, along with giving up front pricing if you need additional supplies on the moving day. read more

Joel was responsive and wonderful to work with. He and Jose were so kind and they did a fabulous job moving a heavy vintage dining table and 8 chairs for us. Everything was wrapped and padded for safe transport and they were prepared to disassemble things if needed, though fortunately were able to do everything in one piece (including the very large table). They arrived early and were efficient. They cleaned everything up before leaving. They provided excellent value relative to other companies and we've used other local moving companies before, but I would absolutely hire Joel/Lyons Moving again anytime! The crew was prompt. Showed up with one big truck. Prior to being filled, they noticed we had more things and had another truck arrive. They took the time to wrap and carefully removed our 20 plus years out of our house. Their 4 man crew unloaded our things quickly and with care. They did use alot of shrink wrap and tape. We used Lyons Moving over Memorial Day weekend and it was BY FAR the best move we've ever had. Maybe we just have low expectations because everyone has always been late/people haven't shown up/etc. But these guys were 5 minutes early, worked SO hard, and were just generally pleasant to be around. We had our house painted before we moved in, and there was not one scratch after they got all of our stuff inside. We were a little late in scheduling this move, and struggled with availability, but we got the day/time we wanted from Lyons Moving at a great price. If you are reading this review then just stop and go ahead and book lyons movers...i have moved around quite a bit and lyons by far the best experience I have had...given covid situation we were very scared about moving...i have a 3 yr old that makes it even more complicated...the team came in and they were so smooth and efficient...all i had to do was to tell what all needs to go and that's it!!! They disassembled the bed and couch like in 10 min...and assembled it back with the same efficiency...the entire move was so painless that we didnt even realise its all done...extremely good team..special thanks to Joel for coming in to help to make sure everything is done right...jesus for being so efficient...i dont know all the names but all of them were totally amazing!!! Lyons Moving did an outstanding job moving my mom and I into our new condo on extremely short notice! Long story short: we were stuck living in hotels and had placed most of our belongings in storage while looking for a new place. We lucked out and managed to land a cozy condo unit for just the two of us...but then had to hire movers within a week, and our lease happened to begin on one of the busiest days of the year for moving (according to our previous movers, who were all booked up). Only after calling about 3 dozen moving companies did Lyons Moving call back with availability for our move-in date, 4 movers, and a large truck. They arrived at the hotel on time and instantly got to work. They were a great help in figuring out the storage locker's finicky security system when the time came to load up everything we'd been keeping there, which luckily managed to fit on a single truck. They did not break a sweat moving us into the condo, deputized responsibilities for efficiency's sake, and came up with makeshift solutions on the spot to expedite the job. They are incredibly hard-working, friendly, helpful, and the price of their services is highly reasonable - we saved nearly $300 vs. our last movers even with gratuity! Very unprofessional! The final invoice ended up being double of what was originally quoted. My leather couches were damaged by movers (i have attached pictures). I spoke to the manger anout the damage and his response was "things happen". They banged my walls with my furniture. They took 4 hours to re-assemble my 2 kids twin beds, they were obviously trying to be there longer since they do charge by the hour. Very unprofessional, rude, messy, unconsiderate, scam of a company! Your company saw Marixa was alone and tried to take advantage of the situation because she is a female. You billed to the max that you could because she didnt know any better. Your company took advantage of the circumstances. She never even got an apology for ruining her couches, on the contrary, you blamed her and decided to charge another hour. Your company is run by sexist pigs and I feel sorry that my tenant Marixa had to go through this experience. These guys were AMAZING!!!!!! I got quotes from several places and have a piano, so wanted a moving company that is comfortable moving pianos. Joel was extremely professional and got back to me right away. We were moving from Lisle, IL to Munster, IN and a lot of moving companies don't do out of state, even though Munster is literally right across the boarder. Joel and his crew came right at 8 am and boy, do they know what to do. They were quick and efficient and so nice. They had two other men come to help with the piano. They even took apart our eliptical machine and put it back together. They were so careful with everything and paid attention to where things were going in our new house.
