For my actual move day, I went from a house to a storage unit to our new home. Mykola and his team showed up just on time, provided proper communication ahead of time where we walked through the space - he took note of what needed to be taken, wrapped up carefully, including the moving of a piano, and asked great questions. They disassembled a variety of furniture such as a standing desk, couch, beds, and more. The entire team was incredibly efficient, polite and respectful of my property. When we were in the storage unit, they worked so effectively and cleared the unit in only 30 minutes! Once in the space, they were fantastic - they moved boxes into the correct room, double checked with questions, assembled furniture and at the end of the day, they finished in less time that I was quoted. Just to note - they do ask for a $50 deposit, and then, as part of my price, they request the first $500 of the full price to be in cash. My original $4,306 move turned into a $6,487 move and now H2H is trying to come back at me for more money!!! Are they scam artists? Full version: It has been almost a year since I moved with H2H and they extorted $1,600 extra out of me - and now they are back, using their law firm Mayerbock, to try to extort more money. - The rate we negotiated was $4,300 (attached). - When they picked up my things they said it would be $4,824 - fine, maybe I had more things - After an entire insane fiasco (see my other post) where their movers didn't show up to deliver in San Francisco, they sent my things to LOS ANGELES made me pay another $1,600 to have my things rescued and back to the original place of delivery (breach of contract) - At this point I owed under $600 which I was ready to pay whenever movers actually showed up and they were sending numerous voicemails and texts and emails insisting I can only pay cash or Zelle - The day of the move was also a nightmare with H2H on the phone, but the subcontractor was nice and polite (I even tipped them). I would 10/10 recommend H2H movers. Their communication was great and the amount we paid was very close to what we were quoted (in fact slightly less). We were ready to go and everything was well packed up and sealed in the box. They were extra cautious with our belongings (some things I felt like they were over protecting them a bit but it's better to be safe than sorry and nothing was damaged!). I used H2H for a very small move from Chicago to Boston. Initially, the providers were very prompt and communicative up until paying the deposit. I had to go back and forth several times to correct the pickup/delivery address and pick up window. Then, I did not receive any communication until I reached out a few days prior to my move. In response I was provided lengthy emails providing conflicting information about the final payment and when I would be notified about delivery. I was then put in touch with one specific point person who attempted to guide my move personally until delivery. The pick up men were prompt but then stated they were not going to charge me extra for the walk through my condo garage if I tipped them heftly. I was told a specific delivery window and they actually ended up coming a day earlier, which the movers stated were a mistake on the part of scheduling. As a result, they had to go through the truck to pick out my items among the items from the move that should have occurred before mine. They put a few items into my place that actually did not belong to me and had to be moved back onto the truck. The movers tracked dirt and mud through my apartment and onto my light colored rugs. They also mentioned tipping before the move even started. My marble top coffee table no longer has wheels, which I did not even bother to bring up. I was also nearly charged double by the movers ( I was literally in the process of submitting the Zelle and luckily my bank would not let me transfter over 2K which delayed the process) and then the H2H rep stated that they were just not well informed and provided me with the correct amount after I called. Overall, a pretty stressful experience. I won't use them again for a long move nor when I move into a bigger space. I will be spending the next few days thoroughly cleaning my floors and likely replacing other items that are missing. H2H Movers came highly recommended for an apartment to condo move in the Spring of this year. Their price quote was affordable (after comparison shopping of city movers) and up to and including the day of the move, their customer service element was more than satisfactory. We received a call a week before the move and the day before the move. However, a service that H2H provided was the city parking permit for their move trucks to have easy access that they would acquire on our behalf - both at the apartment and then at the destination of our move (just under 2 miles). We were charged $60 for each location for these permits. I inquired on the call the day before when the permit would be posted and customer service indicated that signage would be posted the morning (Monday morning) of the move. On the day of the move, no permits were posted and there was no parking available which caused the moving trucks to park at distance from the destination - increasing the time it took to unload the trucks. The timing is how we were charged for the move. Several calls and emails were made to the company only to be told that we should contact the city about the permits and that any refund would need to come from the city. None of this was included in their fees or contract. Jacqueline was the main contact and was not available to respond to any concerns after the move. Sadly, as it is our right to provide feedback, we received a letter in which we were offered a refund of $60 if we agreed NOT to post any feedback. We refused. For what we paid in moving costs H2H Movers, it seems just good business to satisfy the customer for a service that was not provided. In addition, there was damage to an antique hutch in which a lattice border was broken off. The mover brought it to our attention and said he would make a note of it. We used H2H Movers on 6/29/23. We reserved our time in early May, and they were quick to provide COI and whatever we needed prior to the move. A week before, I received a call to review everything. The day off, we were called ahead of time that the team would be 10min late. No worries, they were communicative and very quick! Received text during the move to confirm everything was going well. They wrapped up everything with padding, disassembled our bed frame and moved everything with small dollies. They movers were so kind, professional and again, quick! I don't know what happened to this company. I've moved quite a bit and I've used many different companies including this one. Last move was fine outside of the movers taking 45 minutes longer to get to my storage facility than it took me. Which considering they charged by the hour I shouldn't have had to pay for that 45 minutes but oh well. I called to move again. A 1 bedroom apartment with a 5x10 storage unit. I have a lot of stuff and I know I need a larger truck than the standard. I was told that 6 weeks beforehand they couldn't guarantee a truck sized correctly to my move. That I would have to either have the movers make 2 trips or hire 2 crews and trucks. Also the wonderful representative tried to convince me that 2 crews would take less time and would be cheaper. Uh no. There's no way they could use the elevators at the same time or load and unload efficiently. One truck would have to sit while the other truck loaded. That would have cost me a fortune for the crews just to sit there and wait. Will never use this company again. Just freaking shady. I would have given them 1 star but outside of them padding their time last time, it was a pretty smooth move. read more

I carefully researched movers for an interstate move. I read reviews, checked the BBB and even scrolled through court dockets for law suits! I also called and got numerous quotes from H2H and other moving companies. H2H explained that their movers are excellent because they have their own fleet and their own employees - not independent contractors. They carefully train their employee movers and take satisfaction very seriously. I bought it. Long story short, they contracted out to two other companies for our ENTIRE move. They were supposed to have an H2H truck with movers to initially load my belongings and then transfer them to a long-haul truck for the rest of the move. We NEVER saw an H2H truck or employee. On the day of our move, they were MIA and when we eventually got a hold of someone they tried to reschedule to the next day. We waited FOUR HOURS for them! It was a super serious clusterfuck that made an already anxious day 100x worse. The movers had an attitude when they eventually showed up. They acted like we had a moving "window" when we clearly scheduled a start and end time for our building elevator. They didn't care about boxes marked "fragile" or "this end up." They put many boxes on their sides or heavy boxes on top of fragile ones. Grandma's China was broken. Handles were broken off of plastic bins. We discovered that files had been dropped and a checkbook was lost. When they ultimately delivered our stuff (or the moving company they subcontracted) there were crushed boxes, broken boxes, broken stuff, and they wouldn't take responsibility for anything. Zero things. They charged us an additional $900 for a shuttle service because they said a semi couldn't get to our location. The location has TWO loading docks and the location assured me that semis have been there. It's just that H2H's subcontracted moving company didn't feel comfortable navigating a semi there. So that sucked. That they cost me $900 more. We also paid for them to assemble furniture which they never did. So that's awesome (sarcastic). I love paying for people not to do anything and to break my stuff. That's dope. Finally, H2H refused to give me an itemized receipt at the end of my move. I still don't have an itemized receipt showing what I paid for. Instead, they charged me several times and who knows what for or how they came to those numbers. After lots of begging for a receipt, they sent me something that included the total they received (NOT including the credit card service fees they charged me) and said it was for "moving services." That's it! Who knows what's involved with those "moving services" and they refused to include the credit card processing fee that they charged me. Throughout all of this, H2H would not take any responsibility for any of the hassle. They were not apologetic whatsoever. The only times they were a pleasure to work with was in the beginning when I was setting everything up before the move. They've known about my absolutely TERRIBLE experience since my scheduled move and have done zero things to make it better. I would not take any business responses to Yelp reviews seriously. And remember, H2H didn't do the actual move. The subcontracted it to two different companies. So who knows what you're actually getting when you work with them. *** The owner of the company contacted me a few days after I posted this review. She has had MONTHS to contact me and only now does she care about my terrible experience with her company. These guys were great!! After 7 months on living in rentals and all of our stuff being in 3 storage units, our home is finally done!! We moved our move date 3 times within two weeks. These guys really made it work for us! While every other company was booked and unwilling to work with us, these guys really made us feel like a priority! We had two trucks and 8 guys for our 10,000 sq ft move! Through 4 flights of stairs all the way to the office or managing patio furniture between 4 rooftops, they truly excelled our expectation!! I highly recommend this moving company. Demitri and 2 men came. They came EXACTLY on time for my 9am move. They communicated with me throughout the whole move. They wrapped my furniture skillfully and with care. All of the furniture and boxes in the living room were out of the apartment within 20 minutes. When I got to my storage facility, there were issues with the freight elevator. This was very frustrating and seemed like the move was going to be ruined. However, Demitri was set on finding a solution. He went to the other end of the facility and found another small elevator. It was confusing how to operate the elevator, but he kept trying and figured it out. The movers then had to move the furniture through a winding hallway and up a smaller elevator making the move take longer. But this did not stop them from being efficient. They did not seem frustrated or annoyed either. This made the move so much easier on me as the customer. The way they tetris-ed everything into the storage unit was amazing. I called H2H Movers and made an appointment for end of October. then I rescheduled to November. then I rescheduled to end of December. All that time they kept touch with me and they were very patience with me. 2 days before the move they put a parking notes (From the city) on the trees to save parking spot for the trucks. on both locations. ($30 each). Last week they showed up, 6 (very nice) guys with 2 trucks. they packed and moved everything. I added more stuff that I forgot to mention over the phone and they were totally ok with that. they also work very clean, with a lot of patience and good mood. it was a rainy day but they just ignored that. They kept asking me if I wanted to move more stuff that I had forgotten and then I remembered that there was a shelf in the garage.... They had no problem with that! . I was so impressed by how quick and efficient the crew was! They definitely made a stressful time a whole lot easier. They were super careful with my 115 year old sewing machine table and other antique wood furniture. I did make sure to pack almost everything in boxes to have as few "weird shaped" items as possible, and wrapped together anything else so it wouldn't move around, so I think that probably helped. If you want to make sure your move goes as well as possible, do your part first and make sure you're organized and ready before they arrive. :) The office was very communicative as well, calling 2 days before to confirm details, letting me know that the movers were arriving early (which worked out perfectly), and texting during the move to make sure everything was going smoothly. I really wanted to support this business as it is a woman-owned, small business. Despite quickly receiving a quote through their online platform, I was unable to obtain responses to my questions in emails and was unable to reach anyone by phone (always went straight to voicemail) so I was not able to work with them. After my initial post, the owner immediately reached out to apologize for the lack of communications as she advised that she is short-staffed at this time with an overwhelming amount of calls at this time (i.e. global pandemic is definitely leading to the demand for movers). *As of 7/2020, I've noted that they price the cost per cubic ft competitively at $4.64, but their fuel surcharge of 15% as opposed to the standard 10% does effectively bring the total price close to competitors. read more

Just called this company today to get a quote about having some help moving items within my home. The woman was polite up until the point on the phone I described that I needed to have furniture from a bedroom put in the basement and then have a piece of medical exercise equipment brought from the basement up with a TV for my disabled mother to use so the no longer would have to go in the basement for physical therapy. She put me on hold and the hung up on me and when I called back they wouldn't answer my call. I wouldn't suggest a company like this if this is how they treat disabled people looking for help moving equipment. They could have at least told me no or explained why. read more

I used H2H for a recent move. They are very responsive and I truly appreciate the consistent communication. The first time I needed to move they were running behind but it worked out because my freight elevator was actually being used by someone else (my old building double booked us). so I had to reschedule everything. During the second attempt, everything went smoothly with the movers. They moved everything in less than two hours (one bedroom apt) which was great. They even arrived a little early which was nice. I've used H2H for four apartment moves within the city after getting recommended by a friend. I used to actually rent and drive my own uHaul and then just hire moving help through the uHaul website - don't be like me, hire H2H. My moves have been quick, easy and just an overall professional service. I think in four moves, I broke one wine glass and that was because I didn't pack it properly. The guys are great and super nice. For my last move, the building required additional documentation like proof of insurance to be sent over and that was just a quick call to their office. Overall, 10/10 service, affordable and it doesn't involve me driving a uHaul myself. Don't look any further for a moving company! read more

If you're moving long distance, DO NOT use H2H. My experience with them has been a series of frustration and disappointments. My stuff arrived 16 days after the initial pick up. Seriously ask yourself if you can live without your stuff for that long and beware that they only count business days. I chose to move with H2H using their consolidated move because of their estimate that my stuff will arrive within 1 to 7 business days. On business day 6, I called to ask about the status. The person on the phone said something like "oh we have an estimate of 10 business days for your destination." Wrong. When she was corrected, she said that she'll check on the status. How is it that the company employee doesn't even know their policies and estimates? Next, I received a call explaining that their other customers lied and had more stuff. Reading between the lines, I assume that means the other customers that had more stuff got moved first while my stuff languished in the warehouse. I was promised a call back on Monday. No call came on Monday (business day 7) and I had to call the office on Tuesday. This time the person on the phone said "summer scheduling is busy and hard." How is that my concern? Shouldn't you, the moving company, be thinking about logistics? Confirming my suspicion, my stuff was only picked up by a truck at the end of the day on day 8. Upon to unpacking, I come to find that my queen mattress, due to however they had stored it (assuming crushed) and how long it's been stored that way, became warped and a huge lump formed in the middle of the bed that was not there before (this bed had survived another long distance move previously without issues). The whole point of moving my mattress is so I don't have to get a new expensive mattess, and now I do thanks to this crappy company and had to pay them for the pleasure of a damaged mattress. For both the pick up and drop off, H2H outsourced to a company called STI. So there's another reason to not use H2H--they're just going to outsource the work anyway. read more
