Booking: I didn't start searching for movers until a week prior to my moving date (yes, I'm a natural-born procrastinator). I had a few quotes from several companies and ACM Movers gave me the best deal so I decided to book with them. They give you a window of time in which your movers will arrive. Mine was between 2-3 PM. They take a $50 deposit at time of booking (you pay the rest after the move is finished). They took my card over the phone for the deposit. Moving Day: On the day of my move, I received a call from them around 12:50 PM explaining their movers will be arriving late between 4-4:30 PM because of some issues with their moving truck. My window of arrival was between 2-3 PM, so although I was a bit disappointed since it was not a short delay, I do understand that sometimes things happen out of our own control. I am not an unreasonable person. I do appreciate that they let me know ahead of time instead of during my window of arrival. Communication is key for all relations and businesses. Arrival: They arrived at 4:15 PM. They wasted absolutely no time when they arrived. I was asked what they should and shouldn't be moving. While Daniil went over my moving information/details and pricing for me to sign, Vlad was already loading up my things to the truck. By the time I finished with the documents, half my things were already loaded. Daniil quickly joined Vlad thereafter. The Move: The move was swift and rapid, but with care. They finished loading up my things within half an hour of arriving. I was impressed! It has got to be the fastest move I've ever experienced and I've moved quite a bit in my lifetime. I am literally a nomad. When we got to my destination, it took them roughly 40 minutes to complete the move. I had a small storage space and I honestly didn't think all my belongings could fit but they magically made it happen and I was very happy because I really did not want to rent another space or go through the hassle of changing my storage unit. From time of arrival to time finished, it took them about 2 hours with some minutes to spare. My quote was for 2 hours and it was spot on with the information I had given them. Payment/Quote/Completion: $129/hour x 2 hours $129 for distance/mileage Total $387 If you go over your time slot then an increase in price will obviously take place. But, with how fast these guys work I don't think you'll see any surprise additional costs, so just make sure everything is in order on your end with scheduling elevator reservation at your designated properties to avoid any unforeseen circumstances. This is just Moving 101. You can pay with cash, Zelle, or Venmo. I'm not sure if they take cards, but I paid through Venmo with my remaining balance. I would inquire about acceptable payments if you don't have any of the options mentioned above. Overall Experience: Although there were some mishaps with the arrival time, these guys were diligent and professional with their work and made up for it with their brisk and smooth move. My things are still intact and not damaged, which is most important to me. All other miscellaneous issues I can overlook. But, that's just me. These guys take their work seriously and you can just tell. I am planning to use them again for my next move and hopefully I can request for the same guys (Vlad and Daniil), but I'm sure everyone in their company is just as good. Thanks again, ACM Movers, for the sophisticated move! read more

ACM Movers - Thanks, Vlad and Daniil! You guys were fast and professional. - Movers Near Me - Evanston, Illinois

I trusted ACM with nearly everything I owned during a major life transition. What I experienced included: * Three missed estimator appointments * An estimate that increased by thousands of dollars * A final bill exceeding $9,000 * Multiple surprise charges * Delivery issues and attempted additional fees * A television and furniture arriving covered in olive oil * A television damaged during delivery in front of witnesses * Pressure to sign paperwork before documenting damages * A claims process that resulted in a $150 offer Everyone's experience may be different, but mine was frustrating from start to finish. If you're shopping for movers, learn from my experience. Get everything in writing, ask detailed questions about insurance and liability coverage, and carefully compare multiple companies before signing a contract. I genuinely feel taken advantage of by this company and cannot recommend ACM based on my experience. read more

This company is getting worse by the day. I wouldn't ever trust a single word they say. At the beginning of last week, they told me they would have my claim resolved by last Friday and might do something "extra" for me. It is now a full week past the date they said it would be resolved, and nothing has been resolved; there has been no communication from them, and they continue to ignore my emails. When you fail at the simplest of tasks of running a business (follow through on what you say you are going to do, and communicate), it shows you exactly the kind of people running this place. Avoid ACM at all costs. read more

Moved me from Minnesota to Florida. Very unprofessional packing. Paid for packing and unpacking. Damaged pictures, glasses, mirror frame and a large Lladro figurine. 48.00 was what was being offered. One packer was high, asked repeatedly for a tip. Found them from Craigs list, receiving end were off of Facebook. Not professional, damages inappropriate. Would not recommend. read more

I'd like to give thanks to ACM moving company for their services with my recent move. I'm a single lady of a particular age, and wanted the most seamless moving process possible. 2.5 stars. Had issues with chipped furniture and major price differences between the original estimate and final cost, but management was helpful. read more

Absolutely the worst moving experience I've ever had. The movers showed up on time, but that's where the professionalism ended. As soon as they arrived, they started arguing about the price--even though everything had already been agreed upon in advance and confirmed in writing. Instead of starting the job, they stood around trying to renegotiate the price on the spot. Completely unprofessional and felt like a bait-and-switch tactic. In the end, they refused to do any work and just left, wasting my time and leaving me scrambling last minute to find a backup mover. Avoid this company at all costs. Unreliable, shady, and completely untrustworthy read more

I only used this company because they called me back and offered to bring the original quote down to gain my business. I agreed to give my business because of this. On the day of move which was scheduled to begin at 8am-10am. They arrived at 9:20am. The movers came with a new quote because another family in the building was moving and it would take them longer was the excuse. He quoted me an additional $200-$300 more than the first out. $632-790 was what I hesitantly signed and agreed to before they began. During the move everything went smoothly in spite of the inconvenience of the other family moving. They were pretty fast and was careful with my things. Although they were constantly trying to charge me for more things like boxes and blankets. Which I wasn't interested in doing. At the end of the move the mover tried to charge me $938. Which I didn't agree because that isn't the quote he originally quoted before he began. I refused because I simply didn't have it. He hunched shoulders and his excuse was the same. That the other family was moving and it took longer. This upset and made me really regret using this company because I realized I was being swindled and taken advantage of financially. I had nothing to do with the building communicating about there other tenants moving time. But ACM movers was penalizing me for it. I'm a black woman and I feel it absolutely played a part in the constant manipulation of pricing. The guy moving us told me to borrow it from friends or use a credit card to pay the amount he was trying to force me to pay. I explained I have no one to call and no credit cards. I also explained all I had was $794.06 in my account. I even showed the account. He hunched his shoulders and still tried to force the amount. I called the office they also tried force the amount and I explained you can take what I got which is what he quoted before they got started. I would not being more because I simply didn't have it and it wasn't what I was originally quoted or signed of for. I explained you can simply take what I have or not get paid at all. They took what I had. I was going to use this company to move my things out when it was time. This experience changed my mind. I would say yeah they are quick but they will swindle and have no integrity. So buyer beware. Especially if you are black. Because I'm sure they dont treat their white customers the same. Overall if they were on time 8am themselves what the other family was doing with their movers wouldn't have affected as much because they would have had an advantage over being done sooner. I was extremely disappointed with the end result and at pissed at their attempts to strong arm me financially. ACM movers located in Evanston because that's the address on the invoice and looking at the other people pics. Those are the same who took advantage of me. They have lost a customer because never again. Because of them being late, the constant pressure to charge me more for things outside my control and their disregard of the situation they were putting me in along with their poor customer service regarding customer care. I rate them a 1 star. I'll give them a two because in spite of they were pretty fast and they packed and unpacked my things safely. I wished to have given a 5 star had we not had all these issues and they been on time. There work was good but the service wasn't. read more

Amazing service by ACM Movers. Mike kept in communication with me from start to finish. There were no surprise fees and every cost was disclosed upon inquiry. He was early and ready to go. If only every other aspect of moving went this stress-free. I will recommend ACM Movers to anyone that needs moving services. I know I will use them in the future. read more

ACM Movers - ACM Movers getting it done! Even Panda was impressed. - Movers Near Me - Evanston, Illinois

Horrible horrible service, I would never recommend dealing with this company. We set up an appointment for yesterday at 1pm with four movers. 1pm, no movers showed up. I called Yura and asked when we could expect the movers and he said between 3 and 4pm. Keep in mind, our agreement was at 1pm for two hours, I had a showing at my house. In addition, I had two family members drive 12 hours to Elmhurst with trailers to help move material back to our new house on the east coast. I explained to Yura about a showing at my home at 3:30 and he said they was my fault and the time for his movers to arrive was not guaranteed, nowhere in his confirmation. He said he could get the movers to me at 2:30 for an hour before the showing. I asked if I would only be charged one hour and he said, no. Illinois law says I must pay a minimum of two hours for his services. After going back and forth, Yura canceled his movers to come and help me and then blocked me on Facebook so we could not chat. This is a scam and a dishonest business, stay away, buyer beware.... read more

Good communication. Asked for 2 guys for 3 hours, but 3 guys showed up for the same price! But they were late, I had told them 12:30, 12:45pm latest and they showed at 1:25pm... So some standing around and waiting for me. Nice guys, they had good tools and equipment. Highly recommend you get your mattress and anything else you don't want to have dirty wrapped it's well worth it because they cannot guarantee those things will not get black as a drag them around the truck invariably read more

Efficient great pricing. The guys were so nice and explained the process for everything.

I was overall pleased with this company service. The only thing I would recommend is which items you need them to be extra careful with or move those items yourself if you don't want them potentially damaged. But they were extremely fast. Moving wasn't as painful as I had anticipated. And I was very satisfied with the price. I definitely see myself using their services again for my next move. Thank you so much. read more

Sergio, Dan, and Nick are the best! They worked quickly (and tirelessly!) while also taking great care with all our items. They were friendly, cheerful, and professional in demeanor. Although they worked very fast, they were calm and not frenzied, which lessened my stress! They were also nice to my 84-year-old mother, which meant a lot to me. My communications with Mike were pleasant and efficient. He sent me a clear estimate which was right on target. When I had to reschedule last minute due to a problem with my eye, he was very understanding and rescheduled without making me feel bad about it! This was great value at a great price. I highly recommend ACM Movers and give kudos to Mike in the office, and Sergio and his terrific team! read more

I recently had to move last minute, and I spoke to Yuriy, the owner, and he made me feel completely at ease and immediately sent Nick and Vitaly to help me. It was a lot of work for them, but they never wavered, we're extremely professional and did an amazing job. I will be using their services again next year when I move, so get ready boys, haha. Absolutely amazing experience with these guys! They are super responsive to messenger. They are timely are well. They came within the time window they gave me. They move was super quick as well. Unfortunately, after taking my things from storage, I noticed tape on everything. They talked directly onto the furniture and there is a permanent residue on my all of my dressers. I would give them 4.5 stars. Due to arrive at 8 - did call to confirm night before @ 8:13 got a text a guy had family emergency would be here 8:45 - 9. @ 9:15 I called dispatch, he'd find crew. @ 9:25 Yuri called - I should meet crew in lobby. I don't know how long they'd been down stay, apparently not told which unit to come to. The 2 guys did a great job, careful with moving all furniture on my new hardwood floors, finished fast and were very polite/ professional. Except for delay, it was perfect AND they came on Labor Day. I would recommend them but be sure to give yourself some time flexibility so not stress Their price was fair. read more

Excellent experience with ACM movers. Fast, reliable and very friendly! Took great care of my belongings . Highly recommend.

ACM movers are Very professional, hard working, sincere crew. I recommend them 100% and will definitely hire them next time.

ACM moved me earlier today. They arrived exactly when they said they would (and called me shortly before arrival). I recommend them and will certainly look them up the next time I move. read more

The movers were quite efficient, quick, and friendly. The low review is because the pricing was not upfront. I received a quote in writing prior to the move. However, after the move was completed, I was charged $180 for a two-hour travel fee that was never previously disclosed (this was in addition to a $120 truck fee and 2.75 hours of moving time at an agreed-upon hourly rate). I emailed the company about the travel fee, was told it was being looked into, and then never heard back. read more

I met two amazing guys today. And I'll never forget them! Vladimir and Andre made my first time experience with movers a game changer. Me? Go back to the aggravation of doing it myself with help from friends and fam? Don't think so. Not with these guys around. From the initial call to the company all the way to the final handshake, they proved that they truly care about their customer's belongings as well as their hard earned money! The best service. Very kindness and profesional. Very happy with them. Everything was moved carefully.

I highly recommend DC Moving. We found them on Craig's List and were very responsive. They worked very well with us, even rescheduling last minute when our Uhaul got a flat. They were very kind and hustled hard, taking extra care of our more valuable pieces. We would 100% call them again if ever needed! I think most of the bad reviews come from people who hired them without informing them what floor they live on. Moving is very hard work! You must include what floor you live on. We live on the third floor with no elevator and were happy to pay a higher rate-- we couldn't have done this by ourselves. Very fast commutation as well. Thank you guys! :) And don't forget to tip your movers! read more

Absolutely horrible! Quoted me a firm price on the phone and verified via text message. Showed up 10 minutes late and proceeded to argue about the amount of stuff they would move. Changed the price to $75 per man. They thought since a woman had called to book it, I would pay out of desperation. Nope! Told them to leave. They require 2 hours of pay but will only move about 5 items. Don't trust them! Totally unprofessional and lazy. My sons did the entire job in 90 minutes. They wasted time fussing about moving a bedroom set and some boxes. Call anyone else! They knew we were on the 3rd floor, not 4th. We only wanted the large items moved. Vladimir agreed on the phone. They should work for 2 hours if they are getting paid for 2 hours. Check the ad! read more

ACM Movers - 2 movers for 2 hours....NOT - Movers Near Me - Evanston, Illinois

Overall the pick-up was ok. The movers appeared to have little experience with a fridge move. The fridge is 32" wide and 30" deep. With the handles the depth was closer to 34". When they arrived to the drop-off location they had trouble getting the fridge through the 36" door due to the handles. My recommendation is if you have a simple move they would be able to handle well. However, if you have a more complex or expensive piece of equipment this is not their specialty. They did follow up and were very cordial and wanted to make sure they addressed things properly and asked how they can improve in the future. The follow up and concern does go a long way. read more
